quote, hunting for females at the university of georgia campus before encountering laken riley on her morning run. they say she struggled with her attacker. the watch showing the exact moment her heart stopped 18 minutes after she encountered ibarra. >> when laken riley refused to be his rape victim, he bashed her skull in with a rock repeatedly. the evidence will show that laken fought. she fought for her life. she fought for her dignity. is it. >> body cam video of a responding officer finding riley unresponsive was played in court last week. her parents and more than 20 family members were in the gallery visibly shaken. riley's mother had to leave the room at one point. the state called several other witnesses including all three of riley's roommates scrambling to find her friends when she never returned home from her run.

and that is when she dialed 911. and she was there for about four minutes, presumably when she was fighting for her life. then her smart watch moved 65 feet into the woods. as mad lynn said a moment ago. her heart stopped at 9:38. 18 minutes after the first encounter. her roommate had been watching her on find my friends and realized she hadn't moved for a while and went out looking for her. found one of her air pods and called the police. and the police found her body within 21 minutes. >> ainsley: it's a woman's worst fear. something that you are never prepared for. she had that smarted watch on. she did use it to call 911, which made me think maybe i need to get one of these smart watches. she was -- they found her body partially covered by leaves. 64 feet off of the trail. the prosecutors say they do have evidence that his d.n.a. was found under her nails. and they are telling the courts that she fought for 18 minutes.

>> brian: so a couple of things to that, just watching this case, it was almost -- if this was a movie or a tv series one of the court case you would say to yourself this movie is moving way too quick. it is unbelievable how overwhelming the evidence is. and then you see the killer's face while he is hearing the recount of his last moments alive and his horrific acts of trying to rape her and then just taking a rock and smashing her head. and you see the cold blooded killer looking right back at you. and you see he has no emotion. he is getting the translation. and that means he has done this before. is he totally okay with it. and he came here to do it. also, he has got two brothers. his brothers were also committing crimes. and they are also linked to that famous infamous venezuelan gang. and if you want to know how this relates all to the election, this is the story. it is not trumped up, no pun intended, situation about how bad the border is to get one

now green lighting the missiles used deep inside russia, they have been limited to targets around ukraine. they will target, according to reports, counteroffensive forces in russia's kursk area where ukraine has made enroots roads recently specifically against russian troops and 10,000 north korean soldiers now backing then up. ukrainian president zelenskyy who has long been pushing for this, he said overnight the missiles will speak for themselves. russian president putin and others in the kremlin have been warning against the missiles' wider use saying that could lead to a third world war. those were more or less the concerns of president biden as well. critics by the biden administration says this comes too little, too late. >> look, this is simply too late in the game. it should have been done a long time ago. about the biden administration has been slow-walking a lot of the aid that's been authorized in a bipartisan fashion from

for 18 minutes. fox news contributor and retired nypd energy paul mauro is in georgia to cover the trial for us. good morning to you, paul. >> good morning. >> ainsley: there is so much evidence here. do you think that there's enough to prove that he is guilty when you combine d.n.a.ened. jacket that had the blood, and her d.n.a. and his d.n.a. on it? >> so far the prosecution is really laid out a very compelling story here with a lot of evidence to back it up. they have created that narrative arc that you want in the opening statement. now they are filling in all the details of that. and begins with jose ibarra leaving that day to quote, unquote, hunt females as the prosecutor put it. you had the earlier peeping tom incident before the alleged incident here with laken riley. and all of the evidence at this point does seem to be going in their direction but, you know, the defense is going to get a chance to put on a case.

>> his thumbprint was found on cell phone. d.n.a. under her nails shows she did try to fight for her life. look at all of these charges against him. 10 counts of malice murder. felony murder. aggravated assaulted. aggravated battery. hindering 911 call. tampering with evidence and peeping tom. paul, he crossed the border two years ago. he was previously arrested. was he out on a warrant? >> he was. he had been arrested in new york for a child endangerment charge. that doesn't appear to have gone anywhere other than a quick dismissal. he ends up down here in georgia and he was out with a bench warrant for a shoplifting charge but had not been picked up. it did not appear that anybody from any of the warrant squads was looking for him. yeah, when they got him, he was here not only illegally but he actually was wanted for a charge in athens. >> ainsley: paul, we are learning that he lived with his brothers. i was reading one of the brothers came over illegally, too. and is affiliated with that gang

out of venezuela. why is he still in our country? why are they still in our country? we are going to have to pay for this guy to be behind bars it looks like for the rest of his life. >> yeah. it does look that way. were he to be convicted, they are reportedly, tren de aragua, affiliated. how they got in, how they managed to stay, big questions embedded in this case. you know, since you bring that issue up, to enlarge the canvas, i just hope that the evidence being gathered here, that there were phone dumps, probably of both brothers. a lot of forensic evidence regarding their background. i just hope that that evidence is accessed by the federal government and the teams that donald trump is talking about putting together to gain intel and insight into how these gangs are establishing themselves here. those phone dumps could be very valuable. i hope that's going on across the country. individual cases all the locals are making that's not enough to take on the challenge we face here relative to tren de aragua and some of these other criminal gangs. ainsley: paul, we are watching
