aggression across a sovereign border into ukraine and continuing to do so. so i would put the question back to russia who is actually putting fuel on the fire here? ukraine will need additional support going forward to stay in the fight. they are oaf in an extremely difficult situation with russia continuing to escalate the conflict. part and parcel what we have seen throughout this conflict which is russia's willingness to continue to up the antti and we'll continue to up the antti when necessary for ukraine to succeed and ultimately prevail. >> harris: there is always mission creep and why this is dicey before he is no longer president of the united states, biden. the weapons are expected and supposed to focus on a single region in russia, the kursk region of western russia where more than 10,000 north korean troops just landed and are now fighting alongside russian

soldiers. ukraine captured the kursk region in august. president-elect trump will reenter the white house amid now multiple ongoing international crises. mike huckabee, former arkansas governor and trump administration ambassador to israel nominee is in "focus." great to have him. first let's go to chief national security correspondent jennifer griffin at the pentagon. jennifer. >> president biden's decision i'm told bay senior u.s. official was spurned by the russian decision to invite 10,000 north korean soldiers into the fight against ukraine in kursk along the ukraine border. second u.s. official adds it is not clear at this point whether the president plans to authorize the use of the attack ems or strike weapons beyond the kursk region. president zelenskyy applauded the long-awaited decision in his nightly address. ukraine's leaders are pushing for this permission for over a year and a half.

president zelenskyy is said about us -- such things are not announced. the missiles will speak for themselves, glory to ukraine. it stands for army tactical missile sis emotion. supersonic ballistic missile that could strike targets of 190 miles away and a war head. it flies higher into the atmosphere and uses gravity to come back to ground at a very high speed. it can reach further into russia than any other ukrainian missile. it was developed in the 1980s to destroy high-value soviet targets and fired from mobile launchers. the u.s. has sent them to ukraine and m270 launchers sent from britain and germany. it is made by lockheed martin. trump eva's family said he would

reverse the authorization. other republicans have argued it is the best way to strengthen ukraine's hand at the negotiating table as russia gears up to retake kursk and push further into ukraine with the help of thousands of north korean troops. >> harris: before i let you go i have the incoming u.s. ambassador to the united states now for the u.n., mike huckabee. i want to get into this a little bit. do we take serious russia's -- it sounds like a threat when they tell us that, you know, don't do this. do we take that seriously? what would they do about it, do we know? >> russia has been threatening to escalate since the beginning of the conflict and threatening to use tactical nukes. they haven't done so in this case. that has always been the concern of the biden administration, not wanting to allow ukraine to use u.s. weapons on russia territory for here of putin making good on

that biden is about to do this as he leaves office and what does that mean for incoming policy? that affects the whole world. >> it really does, harris. a little unusual a president in his lame duck days of ending his reign as president would make imagine or policy shifts. it doesn't ring why he would do this. make it difficult for the trump administration? i don't know. but it is not a good look and not a good act on his part. i'm hoping he will back off. he should find out what the trump administration will be doing and try to make sure he helps accommodate that. that's what we would have in a what i would call a peaceful and also a smooth transition. >> harris: interesting. so you have know biden had the president-elect over to the white house last week. they spent almost two hours together. the length of that meeting alone would lead you to think that

maybe this came up. this action was decisive by biden. make no mistake about it and what needed to have from general and other military experts that we both talk to. this is what needed to happen in the early days against russia, not 1,000 days later. legacy point. is it that? what does this do for biden? i have to think it's at play here. >> it very well could be and probably is. but i again go to the point we don't need to have a major policy shift right now about a month and a half before president trump is sworn in and then turn around and have a different policy shift as soon as the inauguration is over. there needs to be some consistency and continuity. i hope if they did talk about it, it is in line with that. i wasn't privy to the conversation. i thought it was a good conversation and the fact they spent that much time together in a civil manner was to me a great testament for going forward.

but i do have great concerns that something might be done either here or at the u.n. for president trump to get going on his agenda. >> harris: sounds like the democrat governors in the united states. we'll get into that later in the show. a lot of pushback anti-trump still moving. israeli missile strike in beirut against hezbollah terrorists perpetrating as military for lebanon happened on sunday and killed the terror group's spokesman. on friday another israeli air strike destroyed a high rise building in beirut coming as israel continues to step up its fight against hezbollah. an opinion piece says as he heads for the exit president is easing sanctions on hamas and hezbollah and -- seems to have

lost his moral compass. a separate opinion piece here president biden doesn't grasp this while he provided support he also tried to limit israel's independence. every step of the way he has micro manageed israel and tried to leverage a patron client relationship. president biden said this earlier just in the last little bit. >> president biden: after the worst massacre of the jews since holocaust. but how to defend themselves. [inaudible] the united states has led the world in humanitarian aid to gaza. and we are going to keep pushing to accelerate a cease-fire deal that assures israel's security but ends the suffering of the palestinian people and children. >> harris: the first part of that, israel has the right to

defend itself but and then the rest of what he said. so you are the nominee for the u.n. ambassador for the united states at the u.n. for israel. do you and president-elect trump see it the way biden sees it or how different will it be? you are right. this triggers another policy shift or maybe not. it looks like one right before trump takes over. >> well, i haven't been confirmed by the senate so i want to be careful i'm not speaking with some level of official dome. we've had a bad policy toward israel. we put more pressure on israel than hezbollah and hamas and iranians. why haven't we put pressure on them? i keep hearing about cease-fire. we can have a cease-fire right now. we could have had it october 8th. hamas lays down its arms. gives up bombs, bullets, rockets

and stops killing jews. that's the cease-fire. seven american hostages. why haven't they been released and why hasn't this administration put more pressure to get those hostages, american hostages, all of them actually, but especially the americans, than we are putting on israel? it doesn't make any sense at all. this policy, which is on again and off again is very disruptive and it's really giving more rope to hamas and the last thing they need is some breathing room. they need to be suffocated and ended. there is no peace in that region until these terror groups funded by iran are completely eliminated. >> harris: why is biden easing the sanctions on hamas and hezbollah, the blood thirsty killers? >> i have no idea. it makes no sense. one of the dumbest policy decisions ever. why would you ease up on people who are killing civilians intentionally? why would you ease up on people who are responsible for the

media with supporters and athletes getting in on the action. for a second there i thought melania was going to do it. that would have been great. the president's war room account posted this, the trump dance is everywhere. axios with a headline secret trump voters have a post election coming out party. donning maga hats in cafes, celebrating on social media and flying trump flags. supporters in deep blue cities and states are no longer keeping it a secret. trump improved on the 2016, 2020 margins in nearly every state including the most big blue cities like new york, los angeles and chicago. many trump voters in those cities saw his victory as validation and are acting accordingly. all of that a quote. trump is now the first republican president to ever surpass 76 million popular votes. democratic senator john fetterman laid out the way things alied for a trump victory in his state and what it means

admitting now to counting disqualified ballots in defiance of state law. they really want to win. this comes as the state has yet to finish tallying the votes from election night. two weeks ago, wow. alexis mcadams with more. >> most people thought that this was all wrapped up in pennsylvania. but that is not the case and not everyone thinks the senate race is over in that state. democrats on some election boards have admitted they are breaking the rules and the law to overturn those results. take a look here. this comes days after the race was called for republican senator-elect dave mccormick. you can see him there. he beat out incumbent senator bob casey. casey will still not concede. it has been days. so now this week the race is heading for a recount and expensive. blue counties say they are counting ballots that don't have the required signatures or right date, which is against the law

according to the pennsylvania supreme court. they said that weeks ago. now the rnc are suing at least four pennsylvania counties. >> we have full confidence that the court system will intervene here and stop these counties that have clearly gone rogue. 62, 63 counties doing it the right way. a handful of counties controlled by democrats doing it the wrong way and hold them accountable. >> senate majority leader elect john thune of south dakota is calling on casey to concede. fetterman is standing by his counterpart, watch. >> when it's finished and if bob casey comes up short, i can almost guarantee that he is going to do the right thing and concede. >> i think a lot of people watching at home are thinking i thought this thing wrapped up days ago. mccormick's team says business as usual. through the motions, he has been in washington, d.c. and went through orientation and looking

>> so the prosecution is continuing with their case. they laid out the narrative in their opening statement and best way to characterize it in the way that they said it was that jose ibarra began that day by looking to hunt a female. he had the incident with the peeping tom allegedly looking in a window of an employee of the university of georgia and then ultimately encountered laken riley. since then fairly chronologically the prosecution has gone through a litany of evidence that seems very compelling from fingernail scrapings to dna to clothing that goes to jose that was found in a dumpster that has his and laken's dna. thumbprint of his on laken's phone. right now they have testimony going on of what was found at his apartment. but the prosecution is getting down to the nitty-gritty. i don't think we'll see a lot

more from them over the next day or two before they wrap up. >> harris: putting on your attorney hat now because you can tell us so much from every angle on this, does it have wider implications, this particular court case? >> you know, it really does. that's a very perceptive questions. they're talking about the extractions from the phones, from both jose's phone and diego's phone who was intentional a suspect. vital intelligence. how people got here, who are the coyotes? who points them in particular directions. he got arrested in new york and arrested down here, so did his brothers. how they expected to live. we have to put this stuff together at a federal level, national level with a common database of intel to start making the big cases we need to
