number of migrant crossings, texas governor abbott started putting these buoys in the river to stop migrants from coming. in 2023, biden sued texas, saying this was a humanitarian disaster. so the lawsuit has been ongoing, but this sending a really strong message to the biden administration, he's still our president, technically, really sending a message of defiance as today they started putting these buoys back in the water. we got an exclusive look of this happening just a few minutes ago, we actually got back from a ride along on the rio grande with dps troopers. right now there is about a thousand feet of buoys. the goal to add another thousand feet. these are put in areas where there have been strong border crossings and where migrants can use other routes and get around these buoys, abbott is hoping with a new administration, he is going to get strong federal support. that way they can add even more of the buoys. he has even said this is more affected and it is cheaper than the border wall.
11:06 am
critics have said these buoys endanger the lives of migrants. right here in eagle pass, troopers and border patrol agents have been seen in groups of around 100-200 migrants sporadically, something we have been reporting on that they are noticing right now is this uptick in special interest aliens and also unaccompanied children among these groups. now the month of december, it is known to be a month where border crossings tend to spike, so they are hoping that these buoys act as a line of defense. it makes migrants think twice before crossing. and again, just something you really strong message that it is all hands on deck here in texas, john. >> john: all right, as it has been for months and months. brooke taylor for us along the rio grande, thank you. sandra? >> sandra: larry kudlow, fox news business host. your thoughts on this entire debate that is happening? the border is a focus for so many reasons, right? we just covered the brutal
