showers, thunderstorms in the northeast. that's going to continue throughout the day today. that cold front will exit the east coast in the next couple of hours. better travel day for wednesday but right now we're seeing a mess across the northeast and then the airport delays. many of them across salt lake city, boston, hartford, los angeles, sante fe, new mexico. we have the potential for delays. the next system moves out of the west. the next weather maker as we go through the next couple of days for the east coast especially for the thanksgiving day parade. that's what we'll be watching on thursday. hopefully everyone will be where they are supposed to be at grandma's place or friends because that will be a mess on thursday and friday. there is your airport delay forecast. the northeast getting a lot of delays right now and then across the west where we have snow in the forecast.

there is the flight aware misery map. northeast not good. rest of the country looks great. west coast that's where we deal with the inclement weather and hello. >> dana: good to see you. >> i didn't know if you didn't want to see my face -- >> bill: where is that voice coming from? have a happy turkey day. >> hope to see you tomorrow. >> dana: in addition to the flight misery map if you are driving make sure your tank a full. the best time to head out is early in the morning or on thanksgiving day itself. the worst times are today and tomorrow in the afternoon and early evening so plan accordingly, folks. or just enjoy. turn on a three-hour podcast and sit back. >> bill: elon musk and vivek ramaswamy, dome, assembling its team starting interviews for potential employees.

grady trimble, fox business has the lowdown. what are you hearing and learning? >> good morning. the help wanted sign is up at doge. they know the teams are interviewing candidates with backgrounds in politics, technology and law to join doge's ranks. we already know it's seeking super high iq small government revolutionaries. their words, to join the department of government efficiency and asking people to commit resumes via direct message on x. an unconventional way to apply for a job. they say they want people willing to work 80 plus hours a week. in addition to the employees they are looking to hire, they are also already working with members of the house and senate. senator joannie ernst met with them at mar-a-lago over the weekend and presented them with a long list of areas where doge could cut waste, fraud and abuse right away. 22 items on that list including consolidated government building office space. so much of it is sitting vacant.

collecting taxes, clawing back pandemic relief that went to crooks. ending funding for what she calls silly science projects such as this, putting shrimp on tiny treadmills. this is a real picture from a real study that received government funding. >> this is the low-hanging fruit that we can hand right over to vivek ramaswamy and elon musk. so have those discussions this previous weekend as mar-a-lago with vivek and elon, president trump and howard lutnick and they agree. >> ernst is leading the senate doge. marjorie taylor greene will lead it for the legislature. shrimp on treadmills. i never thought i would put that on tv.

>> bill: grady, thanks so much. nice to see you in d.c. >> dana: for more on this kennedy and jessica tarlov. kennedy, this makes your heart sing and speaks to you. >> it makes me wonder if this is how peter higgs felt when they actually saw and experienced the higgs particle for the first time in the super collideer. he knew it was real and possible and he was so emotional. that's how i feel with doge. because there are all these people in congress well, why don't you go ahead and start with the pentagon and cut defense funding? you said during the break everyone has a pet project. i say doge, adopt all the pets. cut as much spending as you can. find the redundancy and how money is being wasted for generations and go ahead and cut it. you can always add it back but it has been impossible to take it away. this may be the first time in
7:07 am
our lifetimes we'll see meaningful cuts. >> bill: joni ernst when she first went to washington, she ran an ad about making pigs squeal. that was her whole deal about going to washington, d.c. now she is saying the government has 7600 vacant buildings. 2200 that are partially empty. the cost of maintenance and leasing federal buildings that are empty is $8 billion a year. another $7.7 billion on energy to keep them powered. that's her position and she is cutting into this. ro khanna, democrat from california comes on often on our show says when it comes to cutting waste, fraud and abuse, there are democrats in the house committee who will work will elon musk and doge. he is talking about going after the pentagon and defense department spending. everybody will have their favorite cut, let's say. >> some will be easier to get through than others, if you want
7:08 am
to go after the pentagon and entitlements congress is control of the purse and it will be very difficult. i would recommend everyone listen to kudlow's podcast. he wanted trump back in the administration. but he is talking about where cuts could be made and what he did interesting is called medicaid a small entitlement. leaving medicare and social security alone but thinking that they could do some stuff with medicaid. that won't be generally very popular if that's the route they will go. pentagon has been again congress is in control. if you told the average american they are a bunch of empty buildings sitting around and we could save $8 billion. sign me up. i also think this application process, the dm ng part of it aside you get a lot of interesting young people that work in tech that are like i want to work for elon musk or i want to work for vivek ramaswamy and i love that the attitude so far going into the new trump
7:09 am
administration is let's take what we can get from my side of the aisle. if there are things that we can make a positive impact on, wonderful. we'll oppose them on the stuff we don't like but happy to work together on things we do. >> dana: the other big issue in addition to the economy is immigration and tom homan is the incoming border czar. i don't know if they'll change that title. he was on "fox & friends" this morning and be in eagle pass later today. watch. >> we're not waiting to january 20th. we're planning what we'll do to lock down the state of texas. governor abbott has done a great job so far. illegal crossings in texas is down over 80% because of the work by governor abbott.s and put them to work. >> dana: the transition team for president trump is getting high marks. people want him to follow through on what he campaigned on, immigration will be number one. >> people are paying attention to this and there is much more of a consensus than a lot of the dividers in congress have led us to believe.
7:10 am
so let these agencies work together and see where the winds are and see if you can make some of these states safer. see if you can make people in california feel better. maybe few of them will leave. for jessica's point, people want a shift and they're open to that conversation. gavin newsom is not one of them. i don't know what he is thinking other than looking at his 2028 chances. people are over that kind of division. they are done with the fighting. they want solutions and they want people who are going to do their jobs. >> bill: one of the most remarkable things about this transition. all this is great talk. love it all. donald trump hasn't done an interview in three weeks. he is out of sight. >> dana: working for him. >> bill: that's exactly right. working on his team trying to figure out as a manager who is best to implement what just happened in this election three
7:11 am
weeks ago today. a remarkable thing for a guy who was always there. >> enjoys the interview. he is running the transition out of mar-a-lago, everyone is coming to him. one of the problems he hasn't signed the ethics agreement that would start the formal transition. people who may be taking over like robert kennedy at hhs for instance is not being let in. he is not getting to meet people. the transfers could take longer because this agreement hasn't been signed and donald trump needs to do that to insure we can have this transfer of power. the biden team is ready to do it. joe biden had him in the office for two or three hours for a little gab chat there. so i think that they really need to get the wheels moving there. maybe it is coming in the next week or two but that's what formally kicks this off. >> dana: when we come back from thanksgiving we'll be hitting the gas. a lot going on and we're here for it. great to see you both. happy thanksgiving.

we're awaiting what could be a major development in the middle east. israel and hezbollah on the verge of a cease-fire that could take shape today. we'll see. >> three weeks out the blame game in full swing. how democrats are coming to grips with their resounding defeat. peggy noonan is here on that coming up in moments. >> i don't know why democrats have not learned the lesson of what really matters. we have to listen. we have lost touch with the core of america. and that is showing through in a lot of our elections right now.

rarngment, a temporary cease-fire for a couple months. we'll see if hezbollah will go back at it. i hope the israelis made a good decision. they know more about it than any of us do. >> bill: it's not a done deal and it is very sticky and history here does not favor this part of the world in significant way. the region we're talking about. northern israel. southern area of lebanon. here is what happened in 2006. had a big war. last time hezbollah and israelis fought. you've got now in present day everything in blue you have upwards of 80,000 israelis who left their home a year ago, october 7th, gaza, hamas. october 8th hezbollah southern lebanon started firing rockets into northern israel. they've been cleared out and they want to go home. this is the litani river heavily

populated by hezbollah for several decades. when they finished the war in 2006 hezbollah never left. let me advance this one time and today here is where the israelis see the problem, okay? everything here in the red is evacuation warnings telling members of hezbollah, lebanese citizens to get out and lebanese roads. they want to have the lebanese army move in and hezbollah fighters move out. it was supposed to happen in 2006. it didn't happen. the real sticking point whether or not they can get a cease-fire that may happen at any moment. keep our fingers crossed out of jerusalem and beirut. now there is this. >> i think the entire democratic party bears responsibility, myself included and the former president. >> i feel like the economy is
7:20 am
not supportive and not nourishing, is what they feel like. there was a gap between some perceived as performance and perception. the lived reality of people feeling on edge. >> it is about what does the democratic party stand for? do ordinary people say that's a party that is fighting for my interests? >> that's a problem for the democrats, too. we have to learn to talk to people in ways that they can relate to. >> dana: democrats pointing fingers all around as they continue to scramble to make sense of their election losses and figure out what it means for the future of their party. peggy noonan, author of ten books including a new one, a certain idea of america. i'm excited to have it. love your writing. always have and i thinn i saw-t revolution, changed course of my life. as you study and look at other people and observe them t how tg about america and a certain idea of america, what do you think

the democrats are feeling right now? i was wondering back to 1984 when the democrats lost big to ronald reagan it took them a while to find their footing. >> yeah, it did. thank you, dana, for what you said. i always feel honored when you mention my first book and its impact on you and i thank you. look, if you are a democrat now, you are feeling depressed and anxious and you have are casting about for what went wrong and you are trying to define what your problem is. if i were asked for advice, i would say the first thing you must know is that your problem as a party is not a communications problem. it is a content problem. it is not that you are talking wrong to people. it is that your issues and the things you stand for are not considered attractive by more
7:22 am
than one half of the american people. >> dana: the "washington post" editorial board agrees. many people do. bill clinton who we heard from this. they said at the "washington post." the first step for democrats is fix blue states. if democrats want to win the presidency back they need to improve the places they already govern. saying that ideally democrats could point to the states where they govern that show democratic policies could work for the nation at the moment they are not. when you look at the political realignment we witnessed with more of the working class saying we don't care so much about race or gender. we want jobs. that's what they are trying to say here. the blue states aren't delivering. >> they are not. i mentioned about i think maybe a week or two ago in a column the democratic party and democrats on the ground must prove that they can govern.
7:23 am
if they run chicago and have run chicago for generations as the dominant party, they should make chicago shine. they should make it safe. they should make its educational system one of real respect. and they should make the economy start to burgeon so people who run big companies want to live there and have their corporate base there. same in los angeles. if you want to govern in america, prove on a local level you can govern. so far they cannot. they seem not to stand for things people understand like get the schools better. but for things like we are the teachers union, we are aligned with the union, whatever the teachers union wants, we will do. the rest of you don't count.
7:24 am
that's no good for a political party. that doesn't look like a party. it looks like an owned and operated thing. >> dana: in a column a couple of weeks ago, maybe three weeks ago you made an announcement that you had just become a grandmother. and as you work to get people in touch with this book for the holiday season, a certain idea of america, did you have him in mind? what do you want him to know in the future when he looks back and says my grandmother wrote this book? what is it you want him to know about america? >> i want him to know in his bones that it is a good thing and a constructive thing to love america. that there are reasons to love her from her history through her traditions, through the fact that against the odds in a world of revolutions and in a world of change we have managed as a

>> dana: immigration crisis exposing a double standard on vaccines as unvaccinated immigrants enter illegally. immigrants are facing deportation. apparently they are refusing the get the covid shot and now on the chopping block? >> i sure do. good morning. no secret that becoming a legal american citizen is a tough task. you are right. some green card applicants say there is a double standard in their view. they are required to get the covid-19 vaccine versus those who arrive in the u.s. illegally. the cdc, centers for disease control and prevention that sets the rules for which vaccines are required for those who want to become lawful, permanent

7:34 am
>> no, absolutely not. every tool in the tool box has got to be used to protect our citizens and residents and protect our state. certainly to hold the line on democracy and the rule of law. >> bill: that was back on november 6th. a statement from the governor to fox digital last wednesday. the governor believes individuals who commit violent crimes like those alleged here should be deported. amy, where has this gone? massachusetts? >> things for having me, bill. it is just nuts. we're seeing liberal elites in the cities doubling down on their policies to protect illegal immigrants and criminal illegal immigrants. we have 39 instances recently where illegal immigrants have committed crimes against children and yet these leaders of these cities are doubling down on their policies calling for sanctuary cities. so the city of summerville is now looking to be one of 30
7:35 am
cities joining boston and other cities across the commonwealth to protect these illegal immigrants. it is crazy. >> bill: amy, summerville is in the middle near m.i.t. but she did say those who commit violent crime should be deported. so it appears based on her statement she is making a distinction. am i wrong about that? >> certainly those are her words. her actions say otherwise. by putting in place a sanctuary city you are essentially putting out a beacon to criminal illegal immigrants to come to these cities and communities offering protection. sanctuary cities by their policy have policies in place where these immigrants cannot be questioned. it is clear that in law enforcement officials in the state and local levels in these cities are not cooperating with ice and so ice is having to go
7:36 am
around these officials to arrest and deport criminal illegal immigrants. their actions say otherwise. >> bill: a couple of things on that. you know many liberals have a very tough view of ice and that goes back decades. i don't know how this relationship is going to go. we're starting to see that emerge now. here is tom homan. he will be the guy in charge right now. here is what he said about a lot of places like places in massachusetts. >> i guarantee the message is you cannot help, that's your choice. i can't believe you don't want to help remove public safety threats and national security threats from your communities. i think that is your number one responsibility. they obviously hate president trump more than they love their communities. don't cross a line. don't impede us or conceal an alien or there will be consequences. >> bill: that's the message. here is what we found in your commonwealth on this election. fox voter analysis, immigration
7:37 am
number two at 23%. top five issues among voters. immigration at 20% on that one. economy was 39%. i guess, amy, if something happens in this community and is committed by an illegal it's on them. >> exactly right. we're seeing the commonwealth of massachusetts over a billion was spent last year on immigrants and migrants coming into the state. billion dollars will be spent this year. we had a republican governor two years ago that left the commonwealth with a surplus. hour democratic leadership has blown through the surplus and now is looking to raise taxes. so residents of many of our blue collar cities and towns want change and, in fact, massachusetts ranked number two in the nation for its largest percentage increase for donald trump in the last election and that was a message that the voters have had enough with the leadership in these cities.
7:38 am

a story we'll continue to watch. >> bill: thanks, nice to see you, claudia cowen in california. >> dana: bring in mary kathryn hamm. riley gaines weighed it. it is time to remove activist judges who refuse to up hold the law. i don't think the judges will necessarily get removed but i do think they could be appealed and overturned. i'm wondering as i listen to claudia's report, what is the point of title ix if they aren't going to enforce it? >> yeah. well here is the problem. god bless riley gaines and many young women who forfeited game. they've been more courageous than the leadership at their schools or overarching elite opinion who refuses to have a discussion what is a 70% issue among the american people at least that do not believe that
7:48 am
men should be playing against women in sports. it is clearly unfair. they have a right to stick up for themselves and that they have to go to this extent is insane. one of the reasons they have to go to this wild process is that the biden administration shifted title ix so it makes it impossible to protect women, which was the point of it to begin with. what they did is put trans identifying people under title ix to receive the same treatment. now those two parties are in opposition. we see it right now. the women who are going to forfeit or going through this court case or have for fetted in the past are losing opportunities to make it clear that they are going to stick up for themselves. it is really tragic that they have to do this. not something i had to deal with as a female athlete and they are very brave. you get a lot of heat for it. the american people are having we're not doing this anymore and having a discussion. >> dana: they are losing opportunities. scholarship money perhaps. set aside volleyball.
