that puts a burden on these folks. >> yeah, it's unfortunate. these are people that served our country and raised their right hand and it got to the point it seemed we were placing more importance on people coming across the border than our own citizens. our way of trying to do some good in a time where we're divided, this seemed to be a unifying effort and so many people got behind it. but to be able to alleviate that burden, i wish it could be more. we will try to get this number up to 11 million by the end of the day here. we will pledge another 500,000 from our site. i like even numbers, we're at 10 1/2. with your help we'll pledge another 500,000 from that and hope people will be a part of it and bigger plans for next year. >> dana: born primitive.com. i have my eye on the stretchy pioneer jacket and the fleece

wallowing in despair that to me does not look good. >> so obviously there is surprise, surprise, a lot of speculation online about what is going on in that video. we'll leave to the speculation online. it is hard not to believe some of it or at least maybe come up with some of your own conspiracy theories what's going on there. it is absurd. the idea that she is boasting about the fact that they raised a billion half dollars is kind of amazing especially -- the window which she spent it was 100 days. so we're talking about not only the first billion dollar candidate in history who flamed out spectacularly but the highest burn rate of any campaign in history. so a billion and a half dollars spent over 100 days, that's just -- that's like 10x what a normal campaign if not more than that. what a normal campaign does.

what do they have to show for it? these interviews with stephanie carter and jen o'malley. they are doing friendly interviews trying to see why here. trying to shift blame away from them but think about how stupid this is. they are basically blaming the media saying that the reason they got -- that they lost is because they got a raw deal from the media. are you kidding me? kamala harris was nothing but a figment of the media -- she was completely manufactured by the media and it was all favorable. the idea that they are going to blame the media for their failure. they are not only bad at their job but delusional. >> dana: as a former republican press secretary, leave the blame it on the media to me. you can't blame it on the media. >> and then to claim that

washington with a new task force targeting the new tren de aragua. you have stunning statistics for us, griff. >> we sure do. four years ago tren de aragua or tda wasn't on ice's radar. now they are a top priority, john. acting director says they launched this initiative to target tda called operation athens killed by a tda gang member. >> we first within ice came across them in late 2022 in lima, peru during a human trafficking investigation realized tda members were actively working that. we're shy of 20% of our gang investigations are tda related. pretty substantial. we're closing in about 200 investigations that we have going on right now. enough so that in early part of this year of 2024, we initiated this thing called operation

athens. so it's to combat specifically tda. >> in the past few years tda has taken a foot hold across the country. 16 dates from the west to east coast. he says there is multiple hundreds currently in the u.s. the lack of cooperation in sanctuary jurisdictions makes it difficult to get them and more dangerous. >> they are preying on their own. it is incredibly, i think, irresponsible or these jurisdictions to be doing that. we need to get the threat off the street. we need to get the threat out of this country where appropriate and work with us in accordance with law. >> he says sending them back to venezuela is difficult as well because they won't accept their citizens back. he hopes the incoming trump administration will have more success securing an agreement. >> john: there was no criminal activity associated with tda until 2023, i think. >> it is amazing.

cbp gang affiliated arrest data shows not a single arrest until fiscal year 2023. now those numbers are climbing at an alarm rate. >> john: this whole thing was a product of the current border crisis. griff jenkins for us, thank you. >> dana: meanwhile a venezuelan migrant arrested for allegedly robbing a new york city prosecutor and performing a lewd act. officials keep letting him go. what is happening? we have the latest from new york city. >> we talk about this all the time and see what's going on here in the big apple. now feds are working to figure out if this migrant suspect is linked to that venezuelan gang called tren de aragua. most people hadn't heard of it until a few months ago but now they are linked to crime across the city and the country. >> it is possible but we really haven't had -- we're working on identification and doing what we

area and eventually heading right to new york city. here are some photos you are looking at obtained by the daily mail that show the migrant facing a long list of charges. doesn't look too bothered, sleeping and smirking. sexually motivated robbery, grand larceny, criminal possession of stolen property. growing calls as you know from new yorkers to change the sanctuary city laws. people don't want repeat offenders on the streets no matter what their immigration status is. >> dana: alexis mcadams. happy thanksgiving. >> john: record crowds expected at airports today as millions of americans try to reached loved ones for thanksgiving. aaa forecasting 79 million people travel 50 miles away from home for turkey and pie. we have a travel expert here. how do you expect i guess the next few days is going to go? >> it will be interesting. kind of depends on the weather
7:23 am
and just how everything goes. but as i always say, check the weather and all your destinations where you are and where you are going and if you are connecting and plan accordingly. get to the airport early, be patient. don't be rude to airline employees and just as always you've got to just take things in stride because things are probably going to go awry especially if the weather gets term mental. >> john: don't get drunk on the airplane and duct taped to your seat, either. the best and worst times to travel. today if you are leaving you kind of miss the window a little bit unless on the west coast. the best time to travel is before 10:00 in the morning. worst time to travel is between 1:00 and 5:00. thanksgiving minimal traffic expected. if you can leave tomorrow morning, that's probably a good idea. try not to travel between 7:00 and 10:00 in the morning on friday. best time is after 1:00 p.m.
7:24 am
same thing saturday 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and sunday 12:00 p.m. to 6:00 will be a wipe-out. make sure you get out before then. we talk about weather problems. weather problems now in utah and colorado. good news is that the ski resorts there are already open so if you are headed there for thanksgiving you could get good downhill skiing in. what will happen in the northeast in the next 48 hours? >> well, they are expecting potential delays of course plus the air traffic controller shortage in the northeast can cause some issues as it has been doing for the last couple years. so again just stay on top of things. be pro-active in your travels and always have a backup plan. if things go awry, change on the airline app as opposed to waiting in line at the airport or getting on the phone and calling. things will go a lot faster. fly out early if you can. off peak times and days and wait until monday or tuesday to come
7:25 am
back if you go away for thanksgiving do that, you save yourself a heck of a lot of hassle. >> john: i was always in favor of grabbing a couple extra days at the end of a long weekend. you have travel tips for flyers that we want to put up on the screen. folks can follow along. check weather forecast. you mentioned, fly at off peak times and days. might be late. most people have booked. fly early in case of delays and cancellations. be patient as you mentioned, have travel insurance just in case, which is interesting. and as you pointed out make changes via the airline app. the idea of travel insurance. that is something i rarely do unless it is a big trip. you recommend that on a regular basis for folks? >> me personally because i travel a lot i have an annual travel insurance plan so i don't have to think about it every trip i do. if you leave the country your health insurance doesn't necessarily cover you abroad.
7:26 am
if things get canceled or delayed they don't -- airlines are not required to compensate you for lost costs. so that's basically what travel insurance has helped me do over the years. so i always have it personally. but if you are taking a couple trips a year probably worth doing for you and if you are traveling at a busy time like thanksgiving it might make sense because a lot of delays and cancellations. you don't want to lose the money you've already spent. >> john: great advice. great to talk with you and it probably good to travel with you. >> message where people said they are going to get in our way. don't cross that line. don't test us. >> dana: the incoming border czar pushing back as some democratic leaders prepare to challenge president-elect trump's immigration plans. ideas being floated ahead. americans are hitting the grocery store ahead of

7:36 am
party of ten? that's ridiculous. they are saying that a 16-pound turky is $25. i know new york is very high priced. in new york it's $2 hundred. split the difference and say instead of they got it ten times wrong but maybe five times wrong. the turkey dinner more like $250 than $58. the point is that inflation is still going -- yes, the rate is going down but the prices are still going up. i can't say it enough. prices are higher, not lower. don't be deceived. main street media is picking up the story, nbc, "newsweek," etc. and wrong and why mainstream media is losing audience share. people don't go out and actually shop. these numbers are ridiculous, don't buy them. >> dana: i think i lived in new york too long. that's for correcting me on that. wanted to get your take on this. president trump on monday night
7:37 am
announced new possible tariffs for mexico and canada and china. what is your take on that? give you one thing. the trump campaign response to inflation. people worried about inflation in tariffs. in his first term president trump instituted tariffs against china and resulted in no inflation. what say you about the tariffs? >> he is right. all you have to do is look at the numbers. he uses these trade numbers or threats of tariffs and everything as a way to get people to the table. already by the way canada and mexico were included all already trudeau from canada has called up the president saying we had a great talk, etc. this is an opening gamut. we have had four years of talking and no action from the biden administration. what has that produced? the biggest increase in immigration in american history. terrible problems with fentanyl from china, etc. we had one term of trump already. we know what that produced,
7:38 am
action. it produced getting a clear trade -- a clear deal on migration with mexico. remain in mexico worked. it cut migration down incredibly. we had a deal with china. it got them to buy more produce from the united states eventually and guts a lot of tariff money. so we've been there before. we've done this. americans decided they would go with the trade-off of the fear of a little higher prices on mexican tomatoes for the sake of getting rid of our terrible migrant crisis, which is causing people -- americans, u.s. citizens to die and to spend billions more than they ever did and to get addicted to fentanyl. that's the deal that they made and we are going to live with it. >> dana: quick answer. a year from now do you think that thanksgiving dinner will be less expensive? >> it may be if we get -- if we get a good tax deal. that has to be number one on the plate of trump when he comes into power. extending those tax cuts and getting in more tax cuts.
