promising to add even more from the state. speaking of the lone star state, the university of austin not to be confused with the university of texas at austin, is rolling back dei initiatives and replacing them with more merit-based admissions policies. just the latest university to heed the incoming president's warning about getting rid of, you know, woke policies. this while the fbi investigates multiple bomb threats made against president-elect trump's nominees and appointees. we begin with correspondent jeff paul live in the southland with more. >> reporter: good evening kevin. both local law enforcement and the fbi are investigating these bomb threats. so far it is not appear anyone was physical hurt but investigators say they take every 1 of these incidents very seriously obviously. sources tell fox news this started on tuesday. the threats impacted nearly 1 dozen of president-elect trump's cabinet nominees and appointees. they included cia director

nominee john radcliffe, trump spectra agricultural secretary, and defence secretary nominee pete hegseth. they say a pipe bomb threat was sent with a pro-palestinian message. trump's selection for u.n. ambassador says she was traveling for thanksgiving when the bomb threat was made. state police and new york state no explosives and no explosive devices were located. incoming border czar tom homan says he too has received death threats threat -- since trump announced his new role. >> i have not taken it serious up to this point. now that i know what's happened the last 24 hours i will take it more serious. i'm not going to be intimidated by these people. i am going to do this job. i'm going to do this job because it's an issue of national security. you are going to shut me up, i'm not going away. >> reporter: law enforcement is looking to see if anyone else involved with the incoming trump

lindy lee. >> it's interesting they are complaining about their internal polling numbers as if they did not have access to their internal data. we all saw the external polling that had president trump at 90% of those polled had him up in every swing state. it's not be a surprise then that the american people were moving away from kamala harris. sure she had a bump when they first announced that she was their new candidate, but that did not last. quickly after, her numbers started to drop and as soon as the american people were asking questions about her policies and she could not give an answer, it continued to fall. this is really no surprise. it's a little bit laughable to me that they are just now saying oh, no, we did not know this was going to happen. the polls and the public were all wrong. you have access to your own polling too. >> kevin: erin, your thoughts? >> i think democrats will have a big reckoning and what they are showing the american people right now is they aren't having it. the american people rejected these policies.

want the party to go. i think the democrats are trying to figure out what is next. the fact that they still are looking to kamala harris and some of these other figures who have clearly been very unsuccessful in running a campaign, of course she almost got kicked off the ticket because her favourability rating was so low. the fact she is emerging as a top contender is interesting and i'm curious to see who does emerge. was obviously a lot more centrist candidates like shapiro or moore. if they are able to prevail. but i would imagine on the 1 hand it seems so improbable that somebody like kamala harris would get another job after this, could be reelected, but you look at what the democrats are valuing and it seems given that, it might not be so far-fetched. >> kevin: maybe she can find a home politically in the golden state. let me get your reaction to this, the senior politics reporter over at cnn. listen to his thoughts about when the election was lost.

your reaction on the other side. >> i think the election was probably lost 3 years ago when the white house was saying inflation was transitory when everyone knew it wasn't and they were saying there wasn't a border crisis when there was. >> kevin: to quote joe wilson, you lie. that's what he seems to be saying there, brad. >> they chose gaslighting as a political strategy, the biden-harris administration, on everything from the border to inflation to gas prices. i still remember them calling it all putin's price hike and trying to blame all the prices and our economy going up on a war in ukraine when obviously that had something to do with it but there was a lot more to it than that, including their massive stimulus binge. they never took accountability and as the sitting vice president, kamala harris was always inextricably tied to the status quo while most americans felt the country was going on the wrong track. that's a recipe for electoral disaster so them when you add that to all of the single missteps she made, from not going on joe rogan and reaching

questions about the psychological impacts of diversity, equity and inclusion pedagogy. the researchers demonstrated that exposure to anti-op anti-oppressive, antiracist rhetoric, common in many dei initiatives, consistently amplified perceptions of bias where none existed. a very interesting take on sub stack. i love reading what you wrote. unpack it for the audience if you would not mind. >> we've heard for years, ever since these radical dei trainings and policies have been forced upon us and our children in schools and the workplace, that dei, that it works and that gets the correct and perhaps only moral solution to fighting bigotry and hate. many of us recognize from the start that hyper fixating on our superficial differences instead of things like our shared humanity is absolutely ludi ludicrous. it's really the antithesis of mlk's clarity to judge people by the content of their character instead of the color of their skin.

these studies, we finally have definitive proof that our common sense suspicions were absolutely correct. it turns out these dei practices induced hostility, increased authoritarian tendencies and made people more likely to agree with really extreme rhetoric like endorsing terms when you replace the word with the cast term. this is no light thing. >> kevin: it's no light thing and i know that we talked briefly about the university of austin, the vp there talking about safe spaces et cetera. listen to this and get your reaction on the other side. >> they talk about safe spaces. we want to create an environment that safer ideas to be explored. and where there is not risk to the student for taking positions as they explore. we don't believe the institution should have a position or an orthodoxy or ideology. 1 of the criticisms of dei across institutions is it does not allow oxygen in the room for other ideas to be discussed.

♪ ♪ >> kevin: welcome back. 25 minutes after the hour. trump transition officials say their top priorities for deportation with migrants are the ones who have terrorist ties and those who have actually committed crimes while here in the u.s. while for most people that sounds completely reasonable, forces on the left tonight are already aligning an anti-trump opposition. correspondent chanley painter has more on that tonight on how the team trump is preparing to carry out it's plans. >> reporter: good evening my friend. border security is just one of the challenges the trump administration will face. homeland security report found that biden administration deported 74% fewer criminal migrants than trump. and in california, annual i.c.e. deportations fell by 90%. a recent department of homeland security audit found nearly

300,000 criminal migrants in state and local jails are actually eligible for deportation but they had not been deported yet because of sanctuary policies nationwide. here's what one california sheriff had to say. >> we would notify i.c.e. and say we have ten in our custody that are due to be released and they would come pick them up. now that does not happen, there is no communication between us and i.c.e. >> reporter: in the case of salvador in a legal migrant and gang member, police ignored nine i.c.e. detainer's to hold him for deportation. when released he allegedly stabbed and killed someone five years ago. this from earlier tonight, a federal court of appeals ruled that texas has the right to continue building that razor wire wall that the southern border after all. >> kevin: that is good for them and good for the safety and security of residents in the great state of texas. thank you so much.

let's get some insight into the southern border crisis during the transition to the next administration from former dhs deputy secretary jonathan fahey and attorney mehek cooke and rnc surrogate. we've got more sound from the riverside county sheriff talking about this idea of a sanctuary state which is apparently what gavin newsom is pushing for. listen to what they have to say and we will get your reaction on the other side. >> sanctuary state is a disaster for public safety. this has nothing to do with immigration. this is about our legislature deciding a decade ago that they wanted criminals running free in our state with no consequence for what they did and not being deported. it makes no sense to absolutely anyone in public safety. >> kevin: how do they justify doing this when they know the consequences could be deadly?

>> there really isn't a justification because democrats did not learn that people in america do not want illegal immigration. in fact 60% of americans have said they are pushing for deportation. when you look at sanctuary cities like -- that may exist in california and so many other democratic states, it's going to be very clear whether it's sheriffs, dhs agents, border patrol, they've been handcuffed by the democrat administration in the past. we will be taking the shackles off and allowing them to do their job. something they haven't been able to do under the biden-harris administration. let's not forget president trump said on day one he is going to start deportation. so let's start with the people in the prisons and then let's also not forget most americans don't know this fact, over half of the illegal immigrants today are people who have overstayed their work visas and their student visas. they came here legally, we know where they live, we know who they are because they filled out paperwork to apply for their visas. let's start without deportation

next. >> kevin: i think mehek makes a great point especially when you talk about the prisons. we know they've committed crimes, we know they are a public safety risk, what could possibly be wrong about mass deportation, at least from that perspective? >> that's a very good question and there really isn't a good answer. there isn't a reasonable answer to this. it's funny that the democrats, a lot of them have doubled down on the century cities which you would think after the lakin riley, a lot of people have been watching that trial, and it shows heartbreaking. she was somebody that would be alive if new york city was not a century city, if this person wasn't allowed into the country to begin with. so the only thing that makes sense is they are just putting their personal political agenda ahead of the public safety of their citizens and what i mean by that, they want to be seen as standing up to donald trump and they don't even care if it affects their citizens in a harmful way. the thing that makes it even worse, even if you are a century city, you are not just affecting your citizens like york with

mayor adams. when you let somebody out they can travel to another city and kill someone. you have a responsibility far beyond your citizens that you are not even being responsible for, but other people have a right to be safe and lakin riley's family will have a tough day tomorrow because of the policies. >> kevin: it's infuriating when you hear these public leaders make these proclamations knowing full well, like you just said, anyone could get killed by somebody who's already a danger. very quickly, i want to share a post on truth social from president-elect trump. he said, just had a wonderful conversation with the new president of mexico. she has agreed to stop migration from mexico into the united states, effectively closing our southern border. we also talked about what could be done to stop the massive drug inflow into the u.s. and also u.s. conception of these drugs. it was a very productive conversation. 15 seconds each.

courtroom victory, he's departing after a defeat determined largely at the ballot box. and for all mr. smith's efforts to avoid having his work enmeshed in politics, mr. trump essentially put the voters between himself and federal prosecutors. i think that is pretty fair. what say you? >> i think the voters found trump in effect innocent on election day. they rejected the law fair that i've been talking about here. smith is going to try to punish trump on his way out, even the judge handling his case up here in d.c. said by the way, he can bring this case up again after he leaves office, as if that is going to happen. they will try to protect their reputations on the way out but there needs to be serious investigation into what went on here. i think if there's a credible -- there's a credible issue about whether these abusers in the biden regime and the states

take care of their small kids, for them to be impacted by other men that have gotten out of prison. casino the background there, our second chance heroes drove for about six hours to go deliver clothing, go deliver items for their homes, beds. these kids did not have any furniture, they are sleeping on the floor, their dads are in prison. our guys drove all the way to that home to make sure that those kids had housing products and a bed to sleep in. so it really is powerful to see. we feed so many people, thousands of people across south florida. the second chance heroes is what we call them. they go out and literally deliver hundreds of thousands of pounds of food to the community. they do it all in the name of. these are men that have been redeemed, their lives have been changed, they take our programs inside the prison and then they get out and start to be begins of light in their communities.
