forefitting during the conference system is one thing but now the stakes are much higher. >> boise state's announcement came hours after they defeated utah state in the first round of the tournament. they were scheduled to play san jose state tomorrow. let's bring in former nfl player and the ceo of the brewer foundation jack brewer. jack, good morning to you. happy thanksgiving to you and your family by forefitting the smash san jose state their own message and did so voluntarily. the message they are trying to send. >> i went to the university of minnesota. i used to go to almost every women's voivelg game. i saw how much that those girls put into that sport. the training and everything. the sacrifice that went. in and i just can't imagine, particularly when you, you know, you have a chance to try go win a title to end your season

voluntarily because you're about to play against other men. where we have gotten as a nation, you know, there should be so much uproar about this. because it's just not right. not right to all these little girls who are working so hard to live their dream on that voivelg court. this has to end. i commend them. i think they did the right thing. i think they are showing that it's about principle. it's about honor. it's about righteousness. and it's not always about winning. and sometimes you have to sacrifice. sometimes you have to give up something in order to do the right thing. i think that's a great message and i pray for these girls and i hope that they know that the entire nation is behind them. >> carley: there is also this, jack, on the political front. one of the squad members, a progressive democrats in congress, massachusetts congresswoman ayanna pressley, she said she is worried democrats will swing to the center after their election defeat. she told the "boston globe," quote: we f. we tore say come

on home and let's do the work of getting the gavel back and being in power, getting the house, the senate and the white house, the real question is, democrats, you want the power but for what? this has been an issue that we have struggled to overcome. she also said -- this is a real quote: i'm concerned that we will reflexively in this moment moderate our policy aspirations. so what do you think about that? did she take any lessons from the democrat election loss? >> no, she didn't. if you hear, she also said during that time she talked about dr. martin luther king and about not using his name as those on the right. and i think it's disgusting. i think if the democrats see she is a shining example of how progressives and how extreme they want to be. they want to do these things like having boys play against girls. they want to do these things having abortion up until the

ninth month. all these things are who the democrats are now. even if they come to the middle, the american people really see who they are, when you give them power how extreme they can go and the effect it's had on this its nation. that's why president trump won in a landslide the way he did. americans have said enough is enough. if you took a poll right now, you have a lot more democrats that would have voted for president trump because now they realize that the world is not going to end and that it can be acceptable in all forms of society. and so i think there's a new day, a new dawn that's coming in this nation politically. and i think this is just the result of that. >> carley: winning not just the electoral college but the popular vote certainly sends that message. speaking of messages, jack, the brewer foundation does such phenomenal work every single day, but you are doing something extra special this thanksgiving with the second chance fatherhood foundation. tell us about that. >> yeah.

so our second chance fatherhood program at the jack brewer foundation is really uplifting men who have been incarcerated. you have got think. there is over 18 million fatherless kids across the nation. millions of those kids have fathers that are in prison. over 77 million americans have been incarcerated or have a criminal record. and so so many kids that have been affected, so my second chance fatherhood heroes are going out. they are delivering food. we deliver over 100,000 pounds of food to other families of the fatherless. of those that have fathers in prison. we have a scholarship program where we are helping kids that have dads locked up in prison, 10, 15, 20 years, don't get to see their dad. they want to go to college. we have a scholarship program for them. we do gifts from your father where a kid can have the dignity of knowing that his dad sent him a gift from inside of a prison or a jail.

just think about the trauma it creates not having your father in the home. fatherlessness is a huge epidemic in this nation. and jack brewer foundation is trying to address it real time with a real practical solution. it's a blessing and we give all glory to god. >> carley: amen, jack. you are taking people who made mistakes in their life. served their time and want to reform and those people are helping out people who are financially in need. this is what jesus would want you to do. he spoke to sinners and met with prisoners and washed the feet of sinners and that is exactly what you are doing as well. thank you so much for joining us. god bless you, jack. have a very happy thanksgiving with you and your family. happy thanksgiving to everybody out there right now.
