first responders children's foundation. we have had santa's helpers in the building buy presents, wrap presents going to be given out today to all of the kids that are coming for this viewing party. it's something that i did last year. i also was honored to emcee their first responders event in october. i have been really involved with the first responders children's foundation. so we are going to be here all morning long. watching the parade, again, people are excited for this. i know this has been one of the wettest thanksgiving day parades in history, but it doesn't matter. because we are remembering the families of the first responders we have lost. we are still losing fdny members from 9/11-related illness, you know, it's near and dear to my heart because i am married to a firefighter for almost 30 years with the fdny. so you know how important this day is for me and the families. and we are going to be coming to you live all morning long on "fox & friends" and we will bring some of those family

even though 9/11 was 23 years ago, it needs to remain top of mind, these people sacrificed so much that day and they didn't know ultimately -- they knew they were going into danger. they didn't know what they were ultimately sacrificing and we lost so many. it's a small thing for us to do. we were honored to do it and we hope that it gives some measure of joint to some kids this holiday. >> emily: first responders children's foundation support kids to those who have fallen in the line of duty in many different ways not just limited to 9/11 although that, of course takes a particular light and attention well-deserves so first responders children's foundation. now on to this the fbi is investigating after several members of president-elect trump's administration threatened with bomb threats and swatting calls. >> joey: many g.o.p. figures are vows not to step down.

>> todd: maddy rivera has the story. >> madeleine: many of donald trump's nominees were targeted. they include john ratted cliff, defense secretary nominee pete heg set, u.n. ambassador nominee elite stefanik. agriculture nominee brook rollins lee sweld and howard lutnick. tom homan says he is no stranger to threats. he says he has been receiving death threats since being named as trump's incoming border czar and he is not swayed. >> i think the first goal is not to be intimidated. i'm not going to be intimidated by these people. they are not going to silence me. look, i'm going to do this job. i'm going to do this job because it's an issue of national security. you are not going to shut me up. i'm not going away. i'm going to do this job and continue talking to the american people why it needs to be done. >> local law enforcement officials responded to the threats and visited the homes of several nominees and rah points. the fbi also saying in a statement, we are working with our law enforcement partners. we take all potential threats

seriously. and as always, encourage members of the public to immediately report anything they consider suspicious to law enforcement. but, the threats come after a political campaign that was marked by violence. house speaker mike johnson says this year there was not just one but two assassination attempts on president trump. now, some of its cabinet nominees and their families are facing bomb threats. this is dangerous and unhinged. it is not who we are in america. joe biden and all democrat leaders have an obligation to speak up and condemn this now. the white house says the president condemns all threats of political violence. todd, emily and joey. >> joey: thanks, maddy. >> madeleine: you got it. >> joey: it's scary. not just because we know some of these people. it's not a secret that some of these cabinet members are coming from fox, having done extraordinary things before they got here. but there are others. there are some actually that aren't named there that i talked to yesterday. i have known for years who are also included in this. so we don't really know the full

breadth of this. without giving anything away. they are inclined to believe it was coordinated and that authorities have a good idea of where from. is i just -- this kind of thing is unacceptable and whoever did it if they are americans, especially should have the absolute book thrown at them. >> emily: you made the point that there are small children at home and the trauma that families experience from a spouse that has been called to service who has not yet assumed the position to have their safety threatened on a day of thanksgiving on a holiday. it's absolutely unacceptable and it's reprehensible. what i find even worse, is the failure of the current administration to come out unequivocally immediately to condemn this and tamp down a climate that has been fomented by those on the left. >> think about the supreme court. the supreme court still though day has legitimate threat against their life and they down played that. chuck schumer was involved incitings did. it's very much a double edged

sword. >> todd: mealy-mouth statements that they do make, quite frankly are not enough. they have do not rise to the moment. there needs to be a statement with substance. here is our action plan in regard to these threats. that is step a. step b, here is what we are going to do to make sure threats like this never see the light of day again. i'm not saying that they are ignored. i'm saying that mechanisms are in place so that if somebody thinks about doing a threat like this, they know that's not protected speech and they are going to have the full measure of the united states justice department down their throats, right now we don't have that because our justice department, thunder administration, is distracted. in less than two months they won't be distracted anymore. with that, the boise state university women's volleyball team announcing it's going to forfeit tomorrow's semi-final match in the mountain west tournament against san jose university because its opponent has a transgender player on its squad. >> emily: the fifth squad to forfeit in that tournament by the way. chanley painter is here with the

details. >> hey, emily todd and joey. boise state ending its own season after securing a spot in the semi-finals of the mountain west west tournament against san jose state. a team come under fire for reportedly allowing a biological male to compete on their women's volleyball team which led to six forfeit victories for the team because of boycotts during the regular season. boise state releasing this statement, quote: the decision to not continue to play in the 2024 mountain west volleyball championship tournament was not an easy one. our team overcame firefighters o earn spot in the tournament first round on wednesday. they should not have to forego this opportunity while waiting for a more thoughtful and better system that serves all athletes. the broncos forfeited twice against the spartans during the season. but the decision at this point comes at a greater cost. >> they are faced with something really hard. there's a lot of stakes now,

forefitting during the conference season is one thing but now the stakes are much higher. >> a recent lawsuit filed by players from various schools against the conference and san jose state officials call for banning the player in question from the tournament. a federal appeals court denied the action. with this forfeiture the san jose team advances all the way to saturday's championship without stepping a foot on the court, guys. the school has yet to comment. back to you. >> todd: they have had a number of wins exactly like this like emily pointed out. chanley, thank you. >> emily: i was off by one. this is so patently unacceptable. they are sailing to the championship game because they have a goliath on the squad. and because of the risk of physical injury, a very real risk, that absolutely parents should not accept. these girls should not accept -- they should not martyr themselves they going out there anyway. they sore right to forfeit.

years without incident until her gender identity was called into question this fall. at which point the equivalent speichers began end quote. to say sally jenkins i would say this has absolutely nothing to do with any of the words that sally jenkins used there. this has everything to do with one word and that word, joey, as we all know is safety. safety of those women. >> joey: she is gaslighting is what she is doing. she is essentially mounting an argument against title ix to begin with. who are you to cry and whine to want your own sport or want to be safe in it? she is saying that it hurts, i guess, feminism or women to point out an unfairness. that's what title ix is to begin with so, an argument like this. and i guarantee she is she has been a sports writer a long time. her dad was a famous sports righter. find article after article of her complaining about the wnba not making enough money or the women's soccer team not getting

paid commensurately with the men's soccer team. and advocating for title ix opportunities. but now, because this kind of idea of feminism has morphed into the trans issue. now they are wrong for pointing out unfairness. now they are wrong for wanting to be safe and have their own space. she wants to not have cake and eat it too. she wants to take desert away. >> the irony of a woman to sit there and tell me to sit down and shut up, that you have power and agency so sit there and swallow it? that is patently unacceptable. i don't care who her dad was in the sports journalism world. you get out there on the court. you put your daughter on the court. the daughters who have been suspended for voicing that. the coaches who have been terminated for speaking up. those who have had their scholarships and futures and awards stripped because of someone's woke ideology and virtue signaling and this person black and white no thank you. >> todd: joey you took a legal

on to this very important thing. president biden is proposing to expand coverage of popular weight loss drugs, like ozempic for more than 7 million americans on medicare and medicaid. the proposal are expecting to cost the federal government tens of billions of dollars over the next decade. look at that meanwhile. trump has vowed to make america healthy again with simple diet and exercise. an agenda spearheaded by his hhs pick r.f.k. jr. here to react to fox news medical contributor dr. nicole saphier and my good friend, doctor, tell us. this i know you have focused on preventative care on being healthy to begin with rather than costly treatments like this. tell us your analysis. what do you think of this plan? >> well, good morning and happy thanksgiving, emily to all of threw in studio. you know, emily, this move to expand access and coverage for these weight loss injection medications, it's not surprising, you have to remember obesity is a major contributory healthcare costs in the united

states, costing the united states about $173 billion every single year. this is just obesity related illness. and things that come from that. but, here's the concern i have when it comes to some of these injectable weight loss. i believe they are being widely overutilized at first just approved for diabetes and most people overweight because they noticed people were losing weight on medications and effectively treating their by beats. there were a lot of benefits to it. in fact, studies showed 20% risk reduction of heart attacks and strokes. in that aspect, they are a good thing. they are being widely overused right now. people are taking these medications. they are having weight loss. these are lifelong prescriptions, not like you loose the ways and get off these medication. you are on them for life. while there are benefits to them there are very serious side effects, bowel obstruction, pancreatitis and blindness and even potentially cancer. these medications should be used in caution with people who truly have tried other solutions to

image their diabetes to lose weight. what is happening right now, the biden administration, to expand access to these medications for your medicaid and medicare patients, remember, these patients are on a fixed income. they have strict budgets. so this is not a solution in this population. this is actually discrimination. what about what r.f.k.'s message is to expand access to healthy foods and safe spaces so people can actually get outside and move more. i'm very concerned that this will just lead to more overutilization of these medications. >> emily: doctor, incredible insight as always. final quick message for healthy thanksgiving enjoyment, doctor. what should we know? what should we do? >> thanksgiving is by far my favorite holiday. i will be cooking all day long on instagram if anybody wants to join me super fudz foods in my garden. we don't have all have to be experts and fitness models,
