there is dramatic change. everybody knows the democratic party has a number of really talented retail politicians a bite at the apple when this comes to running for the presidency. it will not be the vice presidential maybe even win in california. i don't think she will being running for president. really quickly on tariffs, it's interesting how so many people will tell you tariffs don't work or tariffs are bad. you will hear a lot of that over the next several days and weeks as it relates to canada and mexico. what they are not telling you though is those countries also have tariffs on american industries as well present to protect industry and behavior. you will see new white house liberally. >> trump threat of a tariff more than the tariff itself. leverage it on mexico. he has a phone call with the president things seem to go well and puts out stuff that makes it seem like maybe she got pushback

herself. the art of the deal. let's see where he will go. he had a pretty good job two months in advance have those conversations. when he enters office, canada, mexico, china will figure out how they want to handle it. >> joey: before even talk about putting tariffs or companies overseas or products. we have a lot of companies selling in the united states that are united states companies or brands that we have known and loved for a long time, everything from disney to some of the car manufacturers people are asking is this a trump effect on advertising culture. >> volvo put out a pro-family ad and widely celebrated on social media and apple is doing something similar and then have you jaguar that did an ad that was just odd to say the least, here is apple's ad right here. >> i know what it is. guys, thank you.

hearing aides aids new apple hearing feature. i could cry even talking about it. it's clouded and then he puts the thing that he got for christmas the hearing aids in his ear and she performs for him. and it's just a beautiful commercial. >> kevin: it really is. >> carley: one of those commercials you would expect to see at the super bowl. it's a really great ad. >> i'm glad you mentioned that, too. a lot of people, joey, watch an ad like that and restore not just their faith in humanity and faith in the public square. it's all right to have a family. it's okay to just love your kids. you don't have to be different. you can be just like your neighbors. and it's all good. i think apple finally is recognizing as are a number of companies that, you know what? we are the bigger market here. it's okay to market to us, too.

they are not going this because trump won the election. they are doing it for the same reason that trump won the election. americans are tired of being told into the things they value and hold dear and prioritize because they may be considered traditional or lack of -- that being diverse are bad. and listen, like families come in all shapes and forms and sizes, but that element of family is still there. and when i watch this commercial, i don't have to be in their shoes to respect and be connected to that sentiment, which is when you become a parent, you love that child, no matter what for the rest of your life, no matter how big they get you see them as this beautiful thing you are supposed to protect. that's what i got from that that was an amazing way to show it. i hope this is somewhat genuine. i'm skeptical of big business like big government. i hope this type of acknowledging where people are that politics is doing. i hope corporate america is doing the same thing and

university has a transgender this is a conference championship right now. and what is hang. what happened throughout the regular season is that many teams forfeited their games. because they didn't want to play against this fund which means san jose won the game. so much so that they entered the conference championship second game boise state i believe it was. forfeited the match and now they are sailing through to the final tomorrow. how about that? what's going to happen with that game? we don't know. but if that team ultimately forefits. that means that san jose state wins. >> here's the problem. it doesn't recognize -- first of all, the danger, i think people may not remember there was a circumstance where a transgender

player was playing and i think spiked the ball and really hurt a girl. i believe may have been a high school level but my point for the story is simply this. it is inherently unfair. they know it. and i applaud the young women who are standing in solidarity saying this is a slippery slope. if we are going to do co-ed that's one thing. if you are going to have different players. what happens, let me just ask it this way. what happens if the next time or the next year there are six transgender players on that team? how do you think they will do? are we going to have six transgender basketball players on a team? now you really begin to tip the balance of competition and i think that's what the players are saying as they step aside and forfeit these contests. >> a lot of people coming out with opinions on this. "the washington post" article i think was atrocious. today got this quote wrote an op-ed in "u.s.a. today." for all the shrieking there is

pushing back are pushing back even against the sentiment of title ix saying women as a gender don't deserve their own place in sports. >> carley: yeah, so true. this woman who wrote the op-ed said sis gender meaning that the straight women are push their teams coming together and making the collective decision and saying you know what? sometimes for the future of our sport, it's not about winning, this individual tournament. it's about making that sacrifice for fairness down the road. >> kevin: that's right. >> carley: they are standing up. i think it's really a selfless act to do that and forfeit. and i don't know how san jose state as a team will feel if they win by not ever really playing. >> kevin: right. >> carley: at some point that individual player that this controversy is surrounded by needs to think about what brought them to this point. >> kevin: that is the key to me, too. you said the perfect word.

secretary of state we look at this and we say you can't make it two days in a cease-fire. this is not going in the right direction. what are your thoughts on it. >> thanks for having me on. lucas, i'm unsurprised that the cease-fire hasn't held for just a couple days. this conflict has been going on a long time. hezbollah didn't agree as part of the cease-fire to give up their goal. their goal is the destruction of israel it was almost certain that their intention would be to go continue this conflict. that's what we have seen. i hope it gets back to a more peaceful situation so the israeli citizens that live in the northern part of israel can get back home. i'm also confident that the israeli defense forces know this as much as i do. they are going to do the things that are necessary to protect the israeli people. but, for the united states to have put this pressure on israel, to have signed this deal which almost certainly will prove not constructive and actually continuing to allow the israelis to do what they need to take down hezbollah, lock, stock, and barrel.

i regret that i'm unsurprised by what we have seen in the last 48 hours. i expect we will continual to see this kind of conflict. >> joey: you answered my next question which is where is this pressure for a cease-fire coming from. it seems like the biden administration, maybe they are trying to claim a small victory before he gets out of office. maybe a genuine attempt to calm what is turning into a multi front war. where is the biden administration's incoming trump administration conflict in israel. >> i think everyone is playing to the trump administration now. entered into the cease-fire with some idea of what's coming next from president trump, which will be enormous pressure on the iranian regime. that is the difference the biden administration has been trying to get the israelis to stop defending themselves for now over a year. there are still hostages. american hostages, kevin:

hamas, holding them directly. the cease-fire in the north is a biden administration's last ditch attempt to say look, we did something. we solved a problem. and thankfully a problem they created the conditions for. sort of like the arsonist putting the fire out. but, make no mistake about it, the conditions haven't changed. the iranians are still trying to destroy israel and the united states of america. this is but one small front in a bigger conflict which will require the united states to support the israelis iranians capacity to commit terror around the world. this is what it is about, kevin. >> joey: middle east war what is happening in ukraine. president putin talking about the biden administration and the incoming trump administration. let's listen. >> it's possible that the current administration want to create difficulties for the future administration. that is also a possibility. but, in my view of the newly elected president. he is quite a clever and

experienced manual. i think he will find a solution. given that he has tackled such a challenge as reclaiming the white house. >> joey: take the partisan politics out. the left will say that's proof that they are cozying up. american made missiles further into russia than previously thought they would or could or were allowed to. in return russia fires back. my question is, is there any chance that president zelenskyy is trying to bait the u.s. into this war before biden leaves office? >> i don't think that's likely. what is really happening is both leaders zelenskyy and putin are both trying to create the conditions where they have more leverage as these negotiation begin as this conversation frankly has already started, president biden is largely irrelevant to this conflict today. it's already president-elect you, former president trump who is driving the process there in europe. i think they are both trying to gain leverage. both trying to be in a better
