>> reading the tea leaves on terrace how mexico's president is responding to threatened 25 tax on imports. >> this is america's newsroom. president electron and the mexican president spoke on the phone but their takeaways were dramatically different trumps of the mexican leader agree to stop migration through mexico but she says she is not interested in closing borders but wants to build bridges. stephen underscoring all of this until the country cracks down on illegal immigration and drugs president biden is responding to trumps plan saying he hopes he reconsiders. we have team fox coverage but let's go to mark he is in west palm beach florida.good morning mark.>> mark: this is

one of the busiest shopping days of the year and retailers are urging consumers to buy items now ahead of president trumps plans to impose sweeping tariffs from china and mexico trumps that he would slap a 25 percent tariff on goods unless more is done to stop the flow of drugs and migrants from reaching the us southern border and mexico's president spoke with reporters she said in her recent phone call with trump terrace never came up and she said the trade war can be averted trump called the conversation very productive. tariffs could cost the minister 400,000 jobs have been fomented but is consumers who could end up paying more per the national retail federation rights american consumers could lose between 46 and 78 billion in spending power each year of tariffs on imports to the us are implemented.
6:03 am
so far republican sticking by trump on his plans but democrats are sounding the alarm and is not just president biden urging trump to reconsider. >> i can tell you these kinds of tariffs even talking about it is deeply harmful to our economy because we are going to start seeing companies raising prices in anticipation of these tariffs. >> mark: so far the stock market is not worried about the all three major indexes set to open higher this morning 30 minutes from now as for the president-elect he is about to go golfing it is 68 and sunny. >> griff: much warmer than it is here in the nation's capital. mark, thank you. >> molly: peter is at the white house with what he said. good morning. >> peter: president biden has gone from someone who is happy to let donald trump draft
6:04 am
executive orders to sounding like the guy who ran against trump for a few months before dropping out. >> i hope he rethinks it. it's a counterproductive thing to do. like i was trying to say before we have a situation. the pacific ocean, the atlantic ocean and to our allies. new mexico and canada the last thing we need to do is --áspeaker3á despite the unsolicited advice from one president to another things have been relatively quiet at the white house and mar-a lago at this point it seems like that's how joe biden likes it he's going to use a soft touch to try to tamp down multiple foreign wars. >> a peaceful transition i am thankful for the fact that.
6:05 am
[indiscernible] with a little luck we are going to get more progress in the middle east and i am thankful for able to get. [indiscernible] >> what a difference a few weeks makes president biden was morning about a non-peaceful >> i am confident i don't know if it will be peaceful. >> peter: we know that president biden has been briefed about the threats that were made to members of the trump transition team and some cabinet nominees but we don't know of any new calls or conversations between biden and trump since they met in the oval office a few weeks ago. >> griff: let's bring in mark the fox news contributor i hope you had a great thanksgiving let's get to work. the war on terraces on and i want to get your take on it where you think this may be headed.>> mark: first of all
6:06 am
you can see he is not an office and you can feel the shift happening on the world stage. and what trump does why he was so successful in his first term and he employs a strategy of escalation dominance so what he does, he signals to our allies and adversaries around the world that he is willing to jump to the top of the escalation of matter and dares them to follow and he offers them away down through negotiation so he says to mexico i am imposing 25 percent tariffs if you don't shut down the border but i am willing to talk to you and figure out a way we can do this together and they know he is willing to do it which is why canada is freaking out because they know that he will actually do this if they don't shut down the border and i have a prediction they're going to shut down the border. they don't want 25 percent tariffs on everything they sent to america.
6:07 am
>> griff: you are right and under the administration i remember going down to mexico southern border and mexican military to stop from guatemala i took a look at the press out of mexico city and it seems like they are making the case that the border is already shut down things are calm and president biden sounding off on lower numbers listen here. >> the operation of the outgoing president and the incoming president and --what they were considerably but i think --i hope they reconsider. >> griff: they are lower now but we can show you the totality of the biden harris administration versus the first trump a four-year spread you have more than 8 million encounters at the southwest border under biden harris and is only 2 and a half total
6:08 am
under trump how do you think this figures into it? >> marc: joe biden's definition of a closed border is not what most of the american people would suggest and it's not that we have to close the border to stop the flow they have let 10 million migrants. housing feeding caring for those migrants has cost american people hundred $50 million. i hundred 50 billion. it is not that we have to thhe flow of illegal migrants has shut down the border they have to take them back. donald trump is going to deport those people he needs their cooperation in taking them back and will those flights start taking off from the united states with these illegal migrants she had better take them or there's going to be an

economic price to be paid by mexico. >> griff: we will see because we know on day one trump plans to reinstate the policy and it takes two to tango. claudia will have to be a willing partner before we run out of time, the other thing i was watching in new york city yesterday you had protesters turning out calling it the balloon left lots of arrests in new york city. what you make of that? >> marc: here's the problem with the immigration system we are letting millions of people into our country illegally. we are letting millions of people into our country illegally who hate america. most of the people at this protests are not americans. they are here on visas most of the people harassing jewish students are not americans they are here on student visas. we need to deport them. if you hate america coming to our country is a privilege coming here to study is a privilege coming to work is a privilege if you hate america
6:10 am
and you are harassing our citizens and spreading anti-semitism you need to be deported and one thing trump should do immediately is take the power away from colleges to decide who comes into this country and if you are leading a student protest calling from the river to the sea that israel will be destroyed if you are harassing jewish students your student visa gets revoked and you get deported. it's some of the people we have allowed him legally also. >> griff: we saw under the biden administration this anti-israel left many would argue successfully pulled the administration to the left on this you think that same pressure will have an impact under president trump? >> marc: [laughter] not a chance. the biden administration is weak. they were weak from the day one day or week on the border they were weak when it comes to pressure from the far left
6:11 am
donald trumbull stand with israel he will bring strength back to the border policy strength back to the foreign policy and he is not going to care if these people marching in these cities say about his policies.>> griff: mark thanks for taking time as always have a great rest of your weekend. >> marc: happy thanksgiving. >> molly: troubling video of a 10-year-old boy along the texas mexico border. >> molly: you can hear how scared he is the texas department of public safety said he was left there by smugglers brought across the border from el salvador he only had a phone on him and told authorities his parents were somewhere in the united states a former border patrol agent.

of snow disrupting travel even more. mike is here from upstate new york. how much snow do you have there? >> so far nine inches and eight hours that's more than an inch an hour. this is lake effect snow. the lakes are record levels. water temperatures at lake erie in the low 50s. that's almost december 1. this is unbelievable because of the big difference we may get some thunder snow today. occasionally we get seven guests 25 to 30 miles an hour. this is a powdery snow. this will blow around on interstate 90. you can see 1/4 of a mile down the road not a lot of traffic today there are restrictions on interstates in pennsylvania i 90 and i 86 no surmise no motor
6:19 am
coaches no buses. amp between buffalo and the pennsylvania state line the winter storm warning goes until monday evening we could see three or four feet here and five feet in the plateau if you are driving 81 between syracuse and watertown a big dump of snow and we are waiting to see how much snow at the bills game on sunday night. there will be snow at orchard park between now and sunday night. >> griff: i was just thinking when you said the storm would go through monday what the san francisco 49ers would think knowing they have to travel into that monday night. mike in a snowy upstate new york. thank you. >> molly: closing arguments set to begin monday and marine veteran daniel penny's trial he faces manslaughter charges in 15 years behind bars connected to the death of a homeless man
6:20 am
penny placed him in a chokehold on a new york city subway 2023 witnesses testified they were afraid for their lives due to the erratic behavior of neely and lawyers claim he was acting in self-defense former federal prosecutor joins me to talk about this.thank you for coming in post thanksgiving day and i just want to ask are you surprised that the case made it this far that we are going to see closing arguments on monday? >> i would be humiliated if i was a prosecutor who was asked to stand up to give this closing argument because they have proven really no elements at all they did not prove that jordan neely died as a result of the acts of daniel pinney. the fact that he had drugs in his system.
6:21 am
that were potentially because of his death as opposed to this chokehold that they said was the cause of the death and you go deeper did he have reason to engage in a physical match with jordan neely and the answer is absolutely, he came onto the train yelling and screaming saying he didn't care if he died or went to jail there's people on that train you were just terrified joe to say that alvin bragg and the rest of the prosecutors who decided to bring this were acting in good faith is a difficult case to make. there is it a piece of this case that would lead a reasonable juror to a conviction and it should have never been brought in the first place. >> molly: there's a decent video including the interrogation video we have some insight into what he was thinking. take a listen. >> this guy i was concerned he would actually lash out he said he wanted to go to prison forever and this and this and this and i look around and there's women and children. civic he is not being evasive he sharing what he thinks.
6:22 am
>> is interesting to hear what he has to say and how it has played out that's consistent with what the other people on the train have to say and statements like this are still not enough to get a trial not to move forward you bring people in you asked them questions and he explains perfectly really the definition of self-defense the definition of defense of others what they took from that the prosecutors and still decided to move forward i can't see it it must be some political pressure it must be the capitulation to the idea that there might be outraged by seminar community if this person is not prosecuted so they just go ahead and put him daniel pinney through this excuse me. for messing at the names. put him through this trial to i guess is the complaints of others. >> if you are familiar with the subway new york city you are riding on a small tube and
6:23 am
there were plenty of witnesses that saw what happened and we can take a listen to that as well. >> the dude got up and he was about to hurt somebody. and he restrained him. >> i guess he was upset and i looked at him and he started taking off his sweater and he threw it and he told everyone he had a rough day and he doesn't care what happens he doesn't care about going to jail. someone's dying. >> molly: someone is dying today that's the thing the witnesses were saying to authorities. >> there's different kinds of crazy and so when you get on the train you're always going to see something is probably going to be shocking but it's rare that you see something that presents a real threat physically to just those who were on the train and so in those circumstances you have to
6:24 am
act because otherwise something very bad could happen police aren't on each car there often not at each train stop sewer left to your own in this tube and if someone presents in this way and they're saying i don't care if i do go to jail i don't care if i die we know he is a violent history we know he was on drugs that day. what daniel pinney did was step in to save potentially many people on that train from tragedy that could have happened we should be celebrating him based on the facts that we heard before and during trial and it is a real shame that this made it. i think is pure politics and pure capitulation to the far left crying out over something like this that is purely within the scope of the law. >> molly: andrew thank you for coming in on friday before closing arguments. we appreciate your time. >> griff: molly the holiday

rush is on millions of americans will have to show passports and ids to fly. there is one group that won't, migrants. outside the dallas international airport with more. brooke? >> the first thing you do when you get to an airport you wait in the security line you have to show your id and you go through tsa but migrants don't have to show any id and in many cases they are waiting a special lines this holiday season you're getting to the airport early migrants
6:31 am
according to a new dhs inspector general report reveals they don't have to show any id or passport they can simply use the cvp one app as documentation they can choose whether to allow officers to take their picture used by tens of thousands of migrants each month to seek asylum has faced criticism it relies on migrants to self-report and this year the migrant administration had to pause the program after concerned spread the inspector general report states cvp and ice continue to allow noncitizens whose identities immigration officers cannot confirm to enter the country they may inadvertently increase national security risk a spokesperson for the dhs fire back of this report telling fox news is inaccurate and lacks

context but the air marshall national security director tells us this has been a concern for years she is helpful these will be a thing of the past with the new administration. >> we have been fighting this for over 3 and a half years because undivided unidentified people on an aircraft are a threat to the communities in the aircraft but when they landed take another flight i don't know if americans are aware this is not a one-time thing. these illegals can fly on flights over and over and over. >> something else that stood out with this report this important to mention, that they couldn't even say how many of the millions of migrants allowed into the us each year didn't have an id because right now immigration officers are not required to document that. >> molly: great information about what we know what we don't know and what is being allowed. thank you very much.

6:34 am
course of the last two months but the battle is not over yet and i think the cease-fire was a kick the can maneuver by the biden administration to try to get through the last weeks of the administration and get to it as a secretary said the trump administration so unsurprising israel doesn't need a rest they need an opportunity for resupply but i don't think anybody thought this was any kind of a permanent resolution. >> griff: here is that prime minister benjamin netanyahu talking about it. i want you to listen to get your reaction. >> a cease-fire plan how long it will be and in lebanon with a full understanding we are reserving for our self full military action if hezbollah doesn't follow the agreement we will attack.
6:35 am
>> griff: we heard from benjamin netanyahu also part of why they struck lebanon was hezbollah activity near rocket storage facilities. what do you think is the next step? do you think it is a slow trickle of this or does it escalate? >> just drift along i don't think anybody wants to take decisive action until the inauguration on january 20 of next year because the entire picture in the united states will change and the outreach to iran and the attempts to get back to a nuclear deal that we have seen from the biden harris administration will turn 180 degrees. president trump has been frank about the fact he is not going to allow iran to get a nuclear weapon i think he takes it personal they have been trying
6:36 am
to kill us since last spring so that is their way of trying to vote in our election but that is going to change so dramatically that there right now we are just in a holding pattern. >> griff: i want to shift gears to ukraine also escalation russia launching china missiles and drones president biden spoke out about the thanksgiving day attack saying this attack is outrageous and serves as a reminder of the urgency and importance of supporting the ukrainian people in their defense against russian aggression however vladimir putin saying this, let me repeat again these strikes also took place in response to the ongoing strikes by ukraine on russian territory with american attack missiles and there will always be a response from our side. i will give the last word what you make of where that stands? >> deeply concerning. and the problem is we have not
6:37 am
had any kind of an endgame or victory articulated by the biden administration and they are trying to push as much of the 60 billion as they have had out the door while requesting an additional 24 billion from the american taxpayer for this effort with as i said no and inside president trump has said he is going to end this war bring the killing to an end and i think that will happen quickly after january 20. >> we will be following it incoming president going to inherit a lot of turmoil overseas. thank you for taking time today. >> thank you. >> the outcome of this election obviously is not what we wanted and not what we worked so hard for but i am proud of the race that we ran. >> molly: harris on her loss to trump as biden points the finger at it unlikely target for her crushing defeat.

don't see a lot of good news. even stuff that is good news doesn't seem to sell very well. you turn on the tv everything is bad. >> i think we will start with you on this. what do you take of this part of the blame game? >> i don't think this is part of the blame game i think he is saying what all-americans are feeling things are not great they are feeling it in their pocketbooks and he is at a firehouse in nantucket with his family he is helping people get relief of that but i don't think this is part of the blame game and why the vice president lost. >> alexa what you think do you think he is being truthful in that aspect the economy and people pay more for the thanksgiving dinner was this just the president admitting those things? >> right this is the famous pro trump corporate media he is referring to the democrats have
6:45 am
been delusional since the election and they refused to look inward you have seen them blame everyone but the country they blame the media they blame elon musk and they refused to acknowledge that they had a terrible candidate and a terrible message in a terrible strategy at if they don't start waking up and realizing you can keep putting down more than half the country and calling them terrible and not smart they are going to keep losing elections and get a massive mandate for donald trump which is which is exactly what happened. >> molly: the harris campaign team talking about and criticizing the press on the questions they ask.take a listen. >> we would do an interview and to stephanie's point the questions were small and processing and about dumb. >> they were not informing a voter who was trying to listen to learn more or to understand and i'm not here to say that
6:46 am
the system was focused on us incorrectly i'm saying of the things we need to explore as we move forward as a campaign in a country that does a disservice to voters. >> is this just gas lighting i mean harris was out there doing every interview opportunity that she had. >> first and foremost i worked with her in the white house she is smart she's a smart strategist but they are missing some of the narratives she did not do an interview for the first 30 some days and when they did ask her questions it was about why she wasn't doing the interviews but you're playing to the narrative there so i think they missed the mark they could have had more of a local media strategy more interviews that they did do settle think this blame game is in the right direction either but i understand they are in a spot where they have to explain why they lost so i understand
6:47 am
why they have to blame somebody i guess. >> what you think of this strategy? >> i think it's incredibly arrogant of the democrats you have to actually run for president and that means you have to get people to vote for you and i understand they just installed harris after they kicked joe biden off the ticket but they never acted accountable to the american people so when you are dismissive of their concerns and you tell them what they are feeling and seeing in their own communities and is it real this is what happens. she hid a majority of the campaign to try to hide from her radical past this is the result that you get. it's not media's fault. >> thank you for your insights on this. greatly appreciate it. >> griff: molly we had a full plate of nfl action on thanksgiving yesterday the dallas cowboys finally win a home game. >> a blitz is picked up.
