now talking about using tariffs for others, basically run afoul of the u.s. rachel: that's right. one of them is the idea of bric countries trying to replace the u.s. dollar. and so here's a truth social post from donald trump just from yesterday. the idea that the b pressures ic countries are trying to move away from the dollar while we stand by and watch is over. we require a commitment from these countries that they will neither create a new current currency, nor back the any other currency to the replace the nightie the u.s. dollar or they will face 1010% tariffs and should expect to say good-bye to selling into the wonderful u.s. economy. they can go find another sucker. there's no chance that the brics will replace the u.s. dollar in international trade many any -- and any country that tries should wave good-bye to america. joey: those bric countries, this is brazil, russia, india, china, south africa, egypt, ethiopia, iran and the united arab 'em

race. obviously, some of those identified as foes, some of whom are not. united arab emirates is more of a friendly, but the idea here is things like oil and gas that not that long ago a was 100% traded in the u.s. dollar, and i think a few years ago in the biden administration a fifth of that went somewhere else. the strength of the u.s. dollar is the strength of our economy. we're not gold backed. and so anything that moves away from that is essentially not a good thing for us. and, you know, we have a president concern i was reading just an economy forum that not partisan at all, and the first line of the paragraph was trump's america first policies will increase the value of the u.s. dollar. that's an analysis, not opinion. and this is an issue that i think will be a serious one. rachel: yeah, no question. this is a huge issue. and, by the way, the ukraine with war and some of the new alliances that developed as a result of it, you know, russia and china --

joey: china putting the squeeze on russia. ray that's right. also sort of exacerbated this problem, people moving away from the dollar and a lot of people saying that was actually one of the most dangerous consequences. of us getting involved in that -- will: what i like about this put out by donald trump is there's so much focus at all times about how much we are liked, what's the approval rating of america which, by the way, is way higher than anybody pretends. it doesn't matter if france likes us, it matters whether or not we heed with the intention of serving the people in this country, america first. and i just think you're seeing a shift on everything, on the border crisis, on tariffs, on the u.s. dollar. we're going to lead. we're going to lead in the interest of americans, and i think that's pretty exciting because it's actually the job of an elect policy -- elected politician. rachel: and donald trump isn't we're going to look out for us and screw all of you guys. he says you should look out for the best interests of your country, and we're going to look out for the best interest of

ours -- will: and maybe we can find a deal. rachel: the art of the deal. that commerce and trade and building up our economy is the center rather than creating new conflicts and war withs and creating money -- wars and creating money through that process of the war machine. and so i think this is an interesting -- it's been as fascinating, will and joey, as it's been to see him lay out this america first policy with tariffs, what's been interesting, most interesting is seeing all the leaders responding in a way that i did not -- will: right. rachel: we were told there was going to be a lot more resistance. instead, people are kind of falling in line. let's see how this works out. joey: and then we'll move on, but on that topic, this idea look out for what's best for our country, so much of our world operates in not what's in best for them, but in peer of what you might the coagainst them. so much of the russia policy is driven by russia fearing what nato may do in their backyard. rachel: yes. joey: so if you have a leader

this country in it was a biden era problem. we never if had tren de aragua problems until we opened our borders, and at the same time nicolas maduro opened up his prisons and we got these problems. joey: i have friends in colorado, actually, my new neighbors are from colorado, and that's become the new batting ground for the cultural war. colorado has this diametrically opposed ideology among its citizens now. colorado, if you don't know much about it, it's a ranch state. there are cattle ranches all over the state. it's very blue collar, very traditional american, and then you have all these people that have poured in from california and places like that. i think it started probably with the marijuana laws, but even this last election cycle there was a little bit of a swing back towards the right. and you see if a place like colorado who has been pushing left so much for so long started to have that pushback just with some of the ballot measures that people voted for, i think that does show you something. huh but this is not something

that's just happening in colorado. the new york post says gang's all here. and it says gotham home -- we said that -- to 58,000 criminal migrants. it makes me nervous to be here sometimes. rachel: then you have media saying, well, it's only a but apartment buildings -- [laughter] that they took over. that's the kind of stuff that -- will: the kind of stuff that should be flagged for disinformation. if we were in the old days of x or social media, dr. fauci would now be flagged for disinformation. now he's just at risk of getting a community greens check because he's -- guidelines check. dr. fauci has a new paper where he promoted debunked claims ant donald trump. he writes in this paper, trump also gave credence to unproven and potentially dangerous substances for covid-19 19 prevention such is as bleach injections, and the anti-parasitic drug ivermectin.

trump never suggested that you should inject bleach. aye. rachel: no. but i'll tell you what dr. fauci is responsible for, millions of deaths because he actually prevented people from getting ivermectin. they tried to say that it was -- will: he's still saying it. rachel: yeah. will: he's still saying that ivermectin and hydroxychloroquine should not have been used for covid. rachel: and the reason is because if ivermectin was allowed to be prescribed and given to people to help with the coronavirus, then you wouldn't is are the ability to -- have the ability the mandate and force people to to take the vaccines. will: there could be no alternative treatment in order for that to be in effect. rachel: correct. so he's never if been held responsible for that. you've talked, will, about the need to, you know, go back and revisit all the things that were'sally -- constitutionally wrong that we did to our citizens during this period and

that people should be held responsible. will: that might -- and we might have, i've joked about a truth and reconciliation -- rachel: i like it. will: about all the lies that were told around can covid. that might at least potentially happen, at least some transparency with someone like rfk at hhs. it hasn't stopped dr. fauci from continuing to tell lies including, he's continuing on with the origin toes theory. rachel: wet market? joey: yeah, the same patient, although there remains uncertainty about the origins of sars covid is 322 and definitive proof is lacking, abundant evidence from top evolutionary viologists and other scientists in other field strongly suggests that the virus jumped from species from an animal reservoir to humans in a human market and spread throughout china and the rest of concern i think what's amazing about this, i kind of see through this. for those of you who have been following, senator rand paul is hot on the trail.

and i think with republicans taking the senate, he's going to have a lot more opportunity, and i don't think this is going to go away. i don't think he's going to let it. i don't think americans want him to. but in that trail what they're proposing, republicans like rand paul, is that fauci may be more liable than simply if making bad decisions. he may have been actively involved in the studies going on at the wuhan lab -- rachel: he funded them. joey: and so if you're fauci and that's true, i don't know if it's true, maybe you don't want people to look further, maybe you want to push out a counternarrative, and that's what this looks like to me in fear of his own life. will: i would offer dr. fauci as much air time he'd like on any of the programs i'm associated with where he can lay out -- it's not going to be a speech, it would be, in essence, cross-examination, but i would like to see the abundance of evidence that leads to the idea that this jumped from a wet mark. that's a direct -- market. that's a direct quote.

joey: you know what it is -- will: you'll probably have that interaction with dr. fauci right there at the senate. rachel: listen, the first clue something went wrong and this was from the wuhan lab, that this leak came from there, is that the scientists who start thed to raise flag on this suddenly were disappeared by the chinese government. they hid, he hid the fact that our government was paying for gain of function research, and than -- that only came out because of cross-examinations in the senate and if all that sort of thing. he, dr. fauci, was never transparent about our role in all of this. and, by the way, rfk has said that he will end gain of function research, that this has never gone well. and, by the way, we were funding gain of function after the pandemic. we've continued to fund gain of function research. and so rfk jr. says when he's in, he's going to work to to end

picked apart by the idf. is so hamas has every reason right now to lay down its arms. i think there's an interesting question of what president-elect trump can achieve if he starts reaching out and putting pressure on hamas if' key sponsors. here i'm talking about iran but also the countries of turkey and qatar which are nominal american allies at least on paper. this is an opportunity right now to probably get the release of those hostages including seven americans and, you know, you're right, we're not sure exactly how many are left. some people say out of those 101 hostages still there that maybe 50 or 40 of them are still alive, but this is a huge opportunity for president-elect trump to secure their release and to potentially also facilitate the exit of hamas from the gaza strip. you can remember that the president reagan did that with hezbollah in lebanon. you can broker a deal, get hamas out of there and potentially pave the way for a better future

rachel: a new study shows 26% of irregular sleepers are more at risk for cardiovascular issues like heart attacks and strokes. how can you maintain a consistent sleep schedule? here with some tips is fox news medical contributor dr. nicole saphier. wow. sleep is so important -- the. [laughter] people are getting less and less of it. what are your best tips? >> well, rachel, first of all, this is a huge study, looked at 722,000 participants, and they -- 7 22,000. now, what i found interesting in this study study is, you know, you've heard me say you have to get enough sleep. that's not necessarily what they were looking at. it wasn't just about the length or the amount of hours you're sleeping, it's about the consistency and the time that you actually go to sleep and wake up.

what they found is even if you get the recommended length of sleep, 7-9 hours for adults, if you're not sleeping the same even night, maybe you go to sleep 9 p.m. one night, 11 p.m. the other night, that in itself was linked to a 26% increased risk after stroke or heart attack or other cardiovascular event, it's not can just about how long you're with sleep, it's maintaining that body's natural circadian rhythm. i'm always the first to go to sleep amongst our friend group, you know this, rachel, but one of things is kinsey. you want some can concern consistency. you want sunlight, power down, turn after your -- off your electronics a couple of hours before bed. regularly exercise. some people like to do a warm bath, shower or even salk that before bed, that certainly helps. i actually like natural herbs for people who have difficulty

sleeping. but the key is consistently and maintaining that natural rhythm. rachel: okay. since i've got the doctor here, i'm going to ask you the question. if i'm tired and and i can get a workout in or get an extra hour of sleep, what should i do? >> oh, jeez. okay, well, i would say remember that there is a spread there, 7-9 hours of sleep, so if you can get 7-8 hours of sleep and get that workout in, i think i would prioritize that over9 authors of -- 9 hours of sleep and instead of no workout to. rachel: [laughter] all right, 64% of people are feeling financial pressure, 30% say their stress comes from an expectation of the perfect holiday, 5% travel, 25% work obligations. what are your best tips for lowering stress so we can really enjoy this season and the peace that it's supposed to bring us instead of all the stress?

>> well, holidays are certainly about being together and joy, but it also comes with a lot of stress and a lot of mental illness. in fact, we see a lot more people coming to the hospitals because of physical ailments like heart attack and stroke because of the stress and overeating but also with depression, anxiety. so for me, my key features are you have to manage expectations. you have to know what you're able to do, what you're not able to do. there's so many different events, and it's okay to say no. get rid of that fear of missing out, that fomo? say no. sometimes it's better just to stay in. make sure you're connected to your to friends and family, and check in with yourself. are you exercising regularly? are you still talking to your friends and family? get your exercise, get your sleep, prior tie sleep -- prior oohtize sleep. everything in moderation, make sure you're not overeating or overindulling, that can leave you feeling depressed and anxious the next day. rachel: oh. so many great tips. my takeaway is sleep. boy, do i need it.

joey: welcome back to this fox weather alert. record-setting lake effect snow blanketing the great a lakes area dropping upwards of 40 inches of snow amid a dangerously cold arctic blast. it's expected the put a real hamper on travel as thousands of americans return home today the after a holiday break. and even more could be on the way as the storm is entering just its second day. let's check in with meteorologist adam klotz on our fox weather forecast. adam. what's going on? adam: hey, good morning, joey. yeah, cold weather really gripping the eastern half of the country, possibly about 70% of the country is going to get down to freezing over the next couple

athlete on its team overshadowed the season. our next guest has made the fight for fairness in women's sports her mission. the host of gains for girls' podcast, riley gaines joins us now. good morning to you, riley. what do you think -- i mean, san jose state losing, colorado state chose to play. most other teams in that conference forfeited against san jose state. what do you think about a -- i'm assuming, i don't know if they'll make the ncaa tournament, what do you think about this as maybe their season comes to a conclusion after playing a transgender player in san jose state? >> yeah, i think their season is coming to a conclusion. i do not think they will make the tournament, but let's just get this out in the open. it doesn't matter if they did or if they don't. every single win or loss that san jose state university has had all season is illegitimate, the wins and the losses, buzz they're not a women's volleyball team when they have allowed a male to participate.

so it breaks my heart for, of course, the girls who have had to play against san jose state university, teams that have had to forfeit including southern utah, utah state, boise state, university of wisconsin, university of nevada. boise state forfeiting at the mountain west conference championship. but it breaks my heart also for the girls who are a part of the san jose state university team. girl like brooke usler who has joined on to a lawsuit ultimately suing the mountain west and the ncaa for allowing this discrimination to happen to their team on a daily basis. so i think the ncaa is thrilled that san jose state university is not going the make the bid to the ncaa tournament because they can wipe their hands clean now and hope that the attention that this has garnered really nationally stops. and they're kind of out of the boiling pot here. will: i want to to read from the san jose state volleyball coach. he said we do not take away

anyone's participation opportunities. sadly, for others who for years have played this seam team -- same team, each forfeiture announcement unleashed appalling messages. you brought up other players on that team, on san jose state, because we have focused a lot on the teams that forfeited to san jose to state. and those girls, it's quite obvious what they sacrificed and gave up. there are players, to your point, on san jose state who tried to say something like brooke sussler, you pointed out, and the coach really came down on them. so they suffered as well throughout this season at the hands of what it seems like, a total failure of leadership at san jose state. >> failure is to to put it lightly because what these so-called leaders did including the coach, the president of of the university, the athletic director, of course, at the mountain west, they didn't just

fail these girls, they betrayed these girls. not only, again, did they come down on them, reprimand them for not wanting to participate on a team with a male, they actually fired and suspended the assistant coach when she signed on to the lawsuit or title. so they took away these girls' only support that they had on this team. and that statement that you just read was the most gaslighting, mow emotionally black paling -- blackmailing. when you have allowed this man to have a scholarship, a roster spot, a travel spot, he has taken that if if a hard working, deserving female athlete. and so these girls' record now, i believe they've concluded their season with a record that was somewhere like 16-6, something like that. but, again, when you don't play seven games, seven illegitimate if wins, it hurts the girls too. that's seven or eight

opportunities that they didn't get to play as well. will: i'm really curious quickly on the way out, riley, focusing on the leadership class that, the as you put well, betrayed these girls, often i think we think about this in terms of cowardice, giving in to something that maybe they don't truly believe in and allowing this insanity to continue. but when i hear about stuff like that from the coach at san jose state and others, do you think these are actually true believers in this insanity? >> no. in the sense of do they actually believe that men can become women? no. same thing with the democratic party where we've seen in the u.s. house where 203 house to democrats voted in favor of to putting men in women's sports, no, hay don't believe that. congressman seth moulton said, hey, look, i've got two to daughters, i wouldn't want my daughter on a field with a man, but he voted in favor of this. i think what drives a lot of this movement, number one, is fever. but number two, it's money. these politician, these leaders,
