1:05 am
but they railed against trump's claims the doj was politicized. they called it highly damaging to the doj's independence, unfair attack on the institution that keeps us safe. and now? >> is the president leave now and agree with president-elect trump that the justice system has been weaponized for political purposes and that it needs root and branch reform? >> no. read the president statement. seriously, read the president's statement. he said he believes and the department of justice. he says that in his statement. he also believes that war politics affected the process and lead to miscarriage of justice. he believes his son was unfairly targeted. >> laura: well, she should have submitted her resignation letter today. and she would have, i think, if she believed what they told her to say months ago that biden would not pardon hunter.

now, with this pardon declared in early december 2024, we all know what the bidens and collaborators did. they sold the ongoing family lies, and they looked the other way on all the other corruption. to them, it was worth risking their own reputations, their own credibility, and frankly, with the reputations of the institutions they revere so much. it was worth it to them in order to protect biden and keep donald trump out of the white house. thank god they failed! that we must never forget what they did and never let these sorts of people close to the white house again. and that is "the angle." joining me now david schoen, former impeachment all year and hunter biden whistle-blower, gary shapley, let's start with everything that came out and hunter admitted to.
1:09 am
you think the doj did not fully investigate him. what makes you say that questioning. >> yeah, that is correct. hunter biden was singled out just like president biden said yesterday in his letter and that was for preferential treatment. during the entire investigation and the department of investigation did not allow us to follow processes to lead to joe biden and some of it led to joe biden because the house chairman who engaged in the impeachment query found out. you know, so, wouldn't we didn't have those powers and authorities to go after and find all that the biden family did, it really just hid that from the american people and ultimately, they moved into -- they were going to charge in 2022. at the end of 2022, they are not going to church because two appointed attorneys got involved and would not allow david weiss to charge.
1:10 am
he was asked for a certain charging authority. and the justice department with a sweetheart deal which of course fell apart. man when he finally thinks that biden will face consequences for the crimes he committed, president biden comes in and pardoned. he was singled out for preferential treatment. >> laura: that is a great turn of phrase. now, we will get to david wise's statement in a manner. this could actually backfire on joe biden. is that true? >> absolutely and there are a couple of things about about your intro was awesome and especially when you consider joe biden statement giving the pardon when he said my entire cr i've always adhered to one simple principle, tell the american people the truth. anyway, they are at least two elements to this that are very distinct, it could backfire because a broad pardon like this

removes the fifth amendment right for hunter biden code to at least with respect to federal crimes. so i would expect you would see a subpoena from the house or the senate and to inquire about ukraine activities and all of that sort of thing. this covers 11 year period, ten years and 11 months. but the other part of it, there is a real question whether a broad rather than perspective preemptive pardon is valid to. the brookings instance to two sentences mic suspected trump's to get broaden pardons and they suggested it was not valid. nixon was given broadened pardon but never tested in court. so someone could challenge this. there are a lot of implications and remembered the breadth of this pardon is so great that hunter biden literally on november 30th could have sold 1n license now for to avoid prosecution for that in any

to our institutions. what does he do? corrupts the pardon power to give his son pointed immunity and by extension, protect himself from having any inquiry. i think it is the opposite with president trump. they manipulate that the law to go after donald trump for political reasons. just think about it, laura, if you have watched politics for a long time. if the elect or it actually believed donald trump was guilty of serious federal crimes, he would not have been elected in the manner he did. the american people spoke not only rejecting biden-harris policies, but also rejecting the abuse of the legal process against donald trump. those cases are dead to. donald trump doesn't need a pardon. if biden tried to do it, it would be too cute by half. >> laura: pam bondi is of course, the president's nominee to be attorney general. she was attorney general, obviously, the great state of florida. how do you expect her to take on what is desperately needed,

picks. kash patel understands the problems with the fbi. he is a reformer that will not be captured by the bureaucrats. contrast that to current fbi director, christopher wray. we remember it when he got appointed 2017. he immediately became a company man captured by the institution and he has not reformed it anyway, shape, or form. i think kash has a lot of significant experience here, put that aside to go can be the smartest guy in the world and experience but if you don't understand that the institution needs to be reformed and you get capture to, you are done! he will not be effective. so i think donald trump this pick and others, he is making sure he is getting people who have the proper posture to these institutions. these are not the repaired institutions that they may have been 30 years ago. these are very problematic institutions and kash understands that. i think a lot of republican
