11:00 p.m. on the east coast, 8:00 here in los angeles and this is america's late news, fox news at night and breaking moments ago our sister publication now reporting that president-elect trump is considering replacing current pentagon nominee pete with florida governor ron. we will have much more on this with peter and the political panel in moments, plus, somehow trying to help your city is now controversial. mayor eric revealing he is open to deporting migrants from new york city who have been charged with crimes. a stark contrast democrats and others like chicago mayor saying he would fight to stop deportation even after the city spent more than a half billion dollars on the migrant crisis.
8:02 pm
chicago residents now calling johnson, the worst mayor in america. meantime the coast of california intercepted a boat with 21 migrants. local law enforcement could do nothing about it. orange county sheriff live on set. it all comes after elon musk in the department department of government efficiency said, the u.s. taxpayers have spent $150 billion on illegal immigration, in one year. meantime now back to our breaking news and reports that president-elect trump now considering replacing pentagon nominee pete with florida governor ron. the senior white house correspondent peter live in
8:03 pm
west palm beach with more on the breaking news. >> good evening, pete said, president elect trump's pick to be -- because people are unconvinced or have not heard about these unconfirmed reports of that bad behaviour, in pete's past trump is considering moving ron, according to "the wall street journal" who tonight is citing people familiar with the discussion, as his pick if there are further problems with the defence secretary, process. that is not the only big change late today, a person he was critical to the president-elect promise to route fentanyl out and fentanyl trafficking out has withdrawn his name from consideration to be the dea administrator,'s name is chad, of florida sheriff that trump wanted to run dea, i've asked around about this, here in the palm beach and i've been told,
8:04 pm
or rather i have been directed to articles from 2020 where arresting a pastor for violating covid restrictions that conservatives have been sending background on social media over the past couple of days. that was seen as problematic. the president-elect attorneys also busy today, filing a motion in new york city, arguing the criminal case where trump was convicted but not yet sentenced it's interfering with his transition. there is also a hunter biden pardon peg in the motion, yesterday and issuing a 10-year pardon for biden covering all crimes whether charged or uncharged, president biden asserted that his son was selectively and unfairly prosecuted and treated differently. this is the same doj that scent matthew to d.a. break to help unfairly targeted president trump and his lawless case. the legal team, and legislative team of both busy, we know that new tariffs also actively discussed today, we are also hearing for the first time about
8:05 pm
executive orders, for next month. being drafted here in the palm beach. >> the other thing is also getting rid of the green a new deal, it's going to be a day one a priority. >> it trump officials don't want any more surprises in the background of people they are nominating for big jobs and today the transition team signed a memorandum of understanding with the justice department that is going to let transition officials for the next couple of weeks start to submit people's names for both security clearances and background checks. >> trace: makes sense. peter live in west palm beach. thank you. let's bring in heritage foundation strategic communication vice president mary, and former communication director trisha. thank you both for coming on. let's cover the breaking news,
8:06 pm
with you first tricia, the possibility that trump pulls pete out of the pentagon position and puts ron in, what do you make of that? >> there is a little bit of game and ship happening i think trump is maybe putting it out there loading it to see how it will play, obviously there is a contested primary and some of the loyalists were not big fans of ron by the end. that being said, i think ron is a fantastic candidate but i still think pete is it fantastic candidate, two brown stars, served in the military for 20 years i think trump will continue to stick by his man and i think american people are tired of being be in with the mantra, sitting commander in chief has reasonable allegations against him. >> trace: it's interesting because you look at this and you look at the entire chessboard, everybody knows ron has aspirations may be for the top job in the country, moving into possibly the defence secretary position, what does that play, do you think it's a good move on
8:07 pm
his part, do you think it's a possibility? >> well as you know and as peter reported it has yet to be confirmed so i think we have to weight and see. what we are going to see with all of the nominations it doesn't have to do anything with them and their personal past, and has everything to do with the policy. as tricia said, pete is a decorated military veteran and he loves this country. everyone in d.c. knows on day one of being confirmed, he would end the woke agenda and the ddi that we are seeing infiltrate our military, that is the issue at hand and let me say the individuals being critical of pete personally, they have been 100% silent when it comes to this current president's son hunter biden, who is addicted to cocaine and and two exploited his father's name to the tunes of millions of dollars. pete is a fighter, he loves this country. >> trace: here is the thing, talking about hunter biden,
8:08 pm
really a little bit of nothing, some comments people were asked about hunter biden today they said, this. he said welcome america, welcome to biden's america and to case you didn't get a chance he didn't have much to say about this. >> he sure didn't, imagine if it was on the other foot and donald trump jr. or one of donald trump's children was convicted of gun-related charges or of evading taxes like hunter biden, the media would be having a field day and by the way, joe biden has been allying about this, barely denying this for months on end, not even closing or leaving the door open it also any credibility, left is
8:09 pm
gone. >> trace: credibility, michael bennett the democratic colorado senator said the country would have been better off if joe biden had not run, he said i don't think there's any gap that our country would have been better off with the biden had decided not to run for reelection, it seems to me that there is this huge push, this desperation to come up with some kind of excuse for why they lost this election. >> that's exactly right, american people spoke very clearly on november fifth, they said the path that was going forward in washington, d.c., was now working and these recent comments by joe biden where he was defending his decision against pardoning his son shows specifically he does not care about the rule of law in this country and we have seen that with all of the policies this administration has been putting forward. whether it's the open border policy, whether it's weapon icing the ministry of state, whether it's using the
8:10 pm
government to target his political opponents. the american people spoke very clearly, january 20th cannot come soon enough and god will have a president that will put america first. >> trace: pressure building on it mayors in blue cities with reps with residents become more frustrated by the migrant crisis and its impact with the well-being. kevin live in d.c. with more on the man some are calling the worst mayor in america. >> good evening, chicago mayor brendan johnson has been at the -- spending more than half a billion dollars sheltering migrants. the city is trying to overcome, wait for, 1 billion-dollar budget shortfall, all by the end of the year. it won't surprise you that some of the city's residents are calling him, the worst mayor in america.
8:11 pm
meantime new york city mayor said he is open to deporting illegal aliens, who had been charged with crimes, that is a shift from his past answer waiting for conviction. adam says he soon hopes to meet with trump's borders, about the upcoming administration plan, to potentially depart deport accused migrant criminals.
8:12 pm
some say, a bit overdue in a step in the right direction. >> trace: kevin live for us in d.c. kevin thank you. common sense department is wondering why so many blue city mayors are bound and determined to make their citizens see red. chicago mayor brendan johnson was the recipient of a good old-fashioned up in arms shot down by his constituents as you hurt, for spending more than a half billion dollars of the cities already depleted budget on sheltering illegal immigrants. it's a short term shelter plan. moving into its third year. despite his residence calling him an embarrassment, johnson appears to hate trump more than he loves chicago. and is now staying in the past. so was a denver mayor whose city has spent $360 million on illegal immigrants. johnson said he would rather go to jail than let trump when. even the blue denver post wrote
8:13 pm
quote, a denver's mayor was wrong to threaten armed conflict to protect immigrants. why is there no violent valve to protect illegal residents? when did rocky rocky mountain high become a rocky mountain hate? adams is getting big blue push back but is now telling critics who disagree to quote, cancel him. common sense thinks it's time for leaders to listen to voters. maybe just maybe, he is off to hate,. let's bring in orange county sheriff. thank you for coming on. great to see you. here is mayor johnson is saying, trump is also, not just illegal immigrants, but going after black families. watch this.
8:14 pm
what do you make of that accusation? >> i think it's so sad that mayor brendan johnson is using the fact that he is black and his association was black, as a way to cripple what president trump is trying to do on terms of making our borders secure and safer. and then making sure that the illegals that are here, especially the ones that are committing crimes, are sent back home. he has to keep in mind, that there are a lot of black americans who voted for trump. such as myself. so, we are of the understanding that we would rather trump in
8:15 pm
the white house then to have our cities to spend the money that they are spending to accommodate the new arrival. >> trace: let's bring the sheriff end. i want to bring this up because we talked about illegals coming in, in newport beach the coast guard, 21 illegal immigrants on a boat, because of sanctuary laws, if you have brought those people on the boat there was nothing that they could have done. that local mayor said this to fox news, watch. got to be frustrating sheriff when you are handcuffed by state policy. >> we are handcuffed, to be clear we do on behalf of the federal government patrol the waterways, and we intervene that
8:16 pm
bow, on the waterways, we could've held them for federal authorities. but on land, when they actually make land, that is where the law changes. >> trace: so you could not bring them to shore? >> we cannot we have to hold them there for the coast guard to come get them and that is operation stone guard on behalf of the federal government. but, when they board,, or make land that is where the lost change and i get sketchy for us. trying to intervene. quite honestly the law protecting american people. >> trace: on the flip side i want to bring in this because as we told you, the mayor of new york city eric adams said he will meet with tom, the new incoming borders are quoting that those who are here committing crimes, robbery, shooting police officers, are -- i want to sit down and hit a plan on how we can address them. he is trying to protect people, he is getting a lot of pushback.
8:17 pm
>> yes, he is probably getting the pushback from the democratic party. because a lot of the democrats are still feeling a little bit salty about the election results. so, they have decided to dig their heels into firmly against the president-elect. but we know here in chicago, we elected president trump, we want to see him get the job done of sending these illegals back home. our mayor probably won't be as open to meet with him, but the people here in chicago certainly are willing to meet with him. i don't think he really needs the mayor to get the job done, there are enough citizens here in the city of chicago who are willing to stand in and assist him and his administration with getting these illegals out of chicago. >> trace: what about people coming up from the border sheriff because they are coming up and there are caravans out there probably not making it under trump, they might make it
8:18 pm
a now. >> the caravans are given issue, but, first we have two as americans understand what the border is and more importantly what it is in, it is not a border wall, you can walk into urban areas so stopping them is going to be difficult. i'm a huge support of our clinical partners and able to do the job but when you walk in and claim asylum, over 10 million, over four years, that is hard for us. many of them are coming from criminal background. >> trace: thank you both.
8:19 pm
even the mainstream media is seeing biden in new light after he backtracked on a promise to not pardon his son hunter let's bring in everybody settle down podcast cohost eric and conservative partnership institute vp of programs, rachel. great to have you on the show, rachel you first, there are democrats defending joe biden watch this. >> he has done it all, good for joe biden and good for hunter. >> trace: i love it when they use things like the context change or he didn't frame it properly, come on he lied let's just say it. >> watching them twist themselves into pretzels over this is just really entertaining
8:20 pm
to say the least. what jill biden did is not entertaining because it's not just that he lied, it's that he lied up until the election. then he got the results, didn't work out, is going to completely transform. apart and so sweeping i think it is unprecedented going back 11 years, not covering just one or two crimes but any crime that could have been committed over the 11 years, this is again who jill biden has always been. but now you can't ignore it. is not only people saying family first, it's the most self-serving self-interested part in that we have ever seen in recent memory. >> trace: downplaying the election, for lack of better term, watch.

8:32 pm
absolutely agree with what he is saying, he launched an investigation into vanderbilt medical university a couple of years ago. that investigation exposed how tennessee doctors and activists were pushing these transgendered procedures on children. a lot of people are saying that inspired these lawmakers to launch this legislation that has led ultimately, to the supreme court case so, definitely something we are interested in watching very closely at the daily wire but, this is a case that can ultimately lead to the supreme court defending children across the country and really, a vastly important medical decision for many americans. >> trace: the liberal media counter framing this different, you have slated the headline reading the following, now trans rights are being tested at the supreme court as if these children have rights to change genders. >> we have to think between trans children and trans adults,
8:33 pm
adults have the neurocognitive decision to make these changes. things you can to do no matter how much you want to detransition, children don't have that capacity. mentally they cannot grasp of these things, they don't understand what fossil -- what fertility is or what they're going to be in the future. you cannot make that kind of decision. i am a board-certified lay sick surgeon, if i tried to do lay sick surgeon on a little kid no matter how much they want to and how much their parents want to, guess what? i lose my license and i may go to jail for assault. that is a lot less invasive than what they are proposing to do with children. >> trace: the same children in school that can get an aspirin without parental consent. "new york times" hammered for article referring to biological women as nontransgendered women.
8:34 pm
>> well, what i would say is our legacy media has absolutely become a tool of these leftist activists in the way they talk about the culture wars but specifically the way they talk about transgender issues. they use the euphemism vendor affirming care to obscure what we are actually talking about which is, transgendered surgeries, home -- hormones and puberty blockers even for minors. they use these euphemisms and in terms of activist groups who tell reporters, use this word to help us. use that phrase, to help us. a lot of americans don't realize what is going on it so they read "the new york times" and they think, while this sounds like republicans are trying to deny care to these poor kids when the reality is, republicans, often, are trying to protect kids from irreversible transgendered procedures that they are going to regret later in life. >> trace: i want to get the
