the trayvon martin case. he seems almost he doesn't want the spotlight right now. but i think the telling part is him saying i wouldn't have been able to deal with the guilt. i'm sitting here watching this man say he is going to kill everyone. what am i supposed -- i'm a marine. this is the oath that i took to defend this country, foreign and domestic. we have someone that is terrorizing citizens. and i have been through hell. but i still would do it again. that was telling. >> rachel: yeah. and don't forget a woman with a stroller and a baby this man is yell i'm going to kill everyone. you are absolutely right. credible. all of us want to believe good samaritans will keep coming forward. i have been on the situation. stranded on the side of the road. needed somebody to help me and they did. that's the kind of america we all want to live in. i was really struck by this interview that judge nah jeanine did an incredible job with this. you see this man right here. by the way, new yorkers are mad

at aoc because there have been videos that has resurfaced of aoc saying the subway is more dangerous because of men like this. no, the subway is more dangerous because of people like jordan neely who are the city has basically allowed to run free and we are lucky to have people like daniel penny. >> brian: here's what he was saying that was going through his mind when the incident happened. remember, he was standing there. he sees this guy screaming. he pops out his air pods and says i have got get involved. he also talked about why he didn't let go. if i let go, i'm in a vulnerable position. i'm on my back. if this guy does what he says is he going to do and try to kill anybody or me he could take out a knife. here's what he said about his thoughts at the moment. >> he was threatening to kill people. is he threatening to go to jail forever. go to jail for the rest of his life. and now where i'm on the ground with him. i'm on my back in a very vulnerable position.

if i just would have let go, now he turns. >> judge jeanine: why is that a vulnerable position? >> if i let him go, i'm on my back, he can turn around and start doing what he said to me i don't know jean killing? >> killing, hurting. >> lawrence: so important. if you look at the media reports compared to what actually happened, if you look at the headlines, they say the guy was just dancing on the subway. that's not what happened. >> steve: carefree. >> lawrence: for someone to say -- which is a terroristic threat, that they are going to kill everyone on there and that they are willing to go to prison for the rest of their life. we are talking about first degree, first degree offense. then how do you meet that person? you have to meet it with some sort of force. and so i think as a whole, the country is rejecting crazy. because we're living in this crazy world. and we wants good people to stand up for us.

and i think there was a red line with the jury. they tried to pressure them. they tried to go after this guy's character. and at the end of the day, people wanted that type of guy to be on the subway with them. >> rachel: that's right. >> steve: lawrence, you are absolutely right. it's a crazy world right now. in the last 10 years there have been crazy things. america has shifted toward crazy. but when you -- you know and we follow the trial every day. when you look at all of the evidence that was presented, there was only one possible verdict and that was acquittal, then again, it is new york. and anything can happen in a jury room. and that's why it is such a great interview. the whole interview is about 40 minutes long. it's available only on fox nation. he did not -- remember, he did not take the witness stand in his own defense; however, he does explain it all to judge jue jeanine. if you need a reason to get fox nation. this is it. it is a blockbuster interview.

>> lawrence: they straight up lied. what happens when a black man steps in. there was a black man that stepped in and he held him down as jordan neely put him in the choke. the prosecution, which i just think it needs to be explored, may have a witness in the case after he pinned down, threatened him with prosecution if he did not testify on their behalf. so, i mean. >> steve: that's how it works. >> lawrence: also a part of the system going after people doing the right thing. not just with jordan neely but putting the amount of pressure on a witness when they pinned him down to make this a racial experience conspiracy. >> brian: wasn't just h hawk newsome the blm al sharpton's group use some of the $500,000 perhaps that kamala harris gave his organization in order to do the interview on the news network msnbc, and paid some of those people to stand outside behind bike racks and scream horrible things that they could hear in the courtroom. think about that, they could hear the scream not guilty

kill the united healthcare ceo but opted against it out of fear it could, quote, kill innocents. let's bring in a long time family friend of the mangione family and also he is a baltimore radio host thomas maroni neck jr. thomas, good morning to you. >> good morning, guys, thanks for having me you saw the news. the family you have been involved in with your radio station for a very long time now involved in this? what's your observation? >> it's shocking, i have known the mangione family. have been a talk show host from 2003 to 23 on a station they owned. and i will tell you, this just doesn't seem like anything associated with them. this is a very deeply respected

family they own golf courses, retirement home, they couldn't be more involved in charity and respected in general. so, when i saw the name, i first had to do a double take, is this the same people i have known and have been on the station for so long? it really shocked me. >> rachel: had you met the son, legion? >> i never met him to my knowledge. i may have run into him had in passing but i don't recall that. >> lawrence: it's our understanding that the family reported him missing. they thought he was missing. and for the last week his mugshot was all over the airwaves on pretty much every channel. does it surprise you that they didn't recognize their son? >> it does surprise me. my involvement with the family was through the radio show. i can tell you they were

fantastic. nick sr. the patriarch. they were close knit. when nick senior passed away nick jr. took over. it was just keeping it in the family or a member of the family to have sort of gone rogue is really surprising. they didn't reach out to me specifically, but i did hear the reports that they reached out to others who knew luigi mangione, they were trying to get ahold of them. >> a lot of times affluent distant from their kids, do your own thing. get into private school. get into ivy league using our connections. would you characterize the family that way? >> not at all. i will just relate a story they threw us a holiday party one year when nick sr. was still alive. and they spare nod expense. they invited talk show hosts. they invited advertising people.

they brought members of their family. they were very, very close. they were connected. it just made you feel like you were part of the family organization. >> lawrence: thomas, was there any talk about loretta lynch les he considered that kid? >> that was never something i heard about, but i can tell you that they are very proud of the accomplishment from everything i saw of members of their family. i know that luigi was valedictorian at his high school. my high school is a competing high school with his. but, in baltimore, it's very interesting because people ask you what school you went to. and they don't mean college.

they mean what high school you went to. >> steve: that's right. >> so for him to give the valedictorian speech was just a tremendous accomplishment. that's something that they look very highly upon as they did when nino, his cousin became the state delegate. >> steve: thomas, i got two parts to this question. first up, you know, he now famously apparently had chronic back pain he was in pain a lot we have been reading. were there any family members who had a medical problem where they might be angry at an insurance company for denial of anything? >> i didn't hear about any of that. but it would really surprise me because again the family had a lot of influence. has a lot of means. but especially being involved in healthcare, owning retirement home. this is something where they wouldn't have struggled to pay the bills. >> steve: right. second part of the question. do you know of any family members. have you heard of any family

they are grabbing him. that didn't seem like a guy to be handled gently. >> lawrence: i worry about this case if it's in the theme of what he did the way he committed this murder crumbs he left for everybody to see not just the cops. is he trying to litigate this case for the public and not for a court of law a lot of people throughout that are supporting him a lot of people outraged with the system a lot of americans sympathize with the brokenness of the system and ignore the system they will have a hard time convicting him. >> rachel: curing those months he was missing where was he and what was he doing? i want to know about the drugs in his system? what was he on? >> brian: absolutely, yeah. >> steve: apparently in addition to the 262 word manifesto he left a spiral notebook and

understand this threat. by the way this threat is going to get worse and worse as these drones become more and more capable as ai is implemented and put into them you can't say on the one hand there is no threat if you don't know what it is. why hasn't he been pressed on it? >> he should be. yesterday was one of the first hearings we had on the drone threat. i have been even way back when i was mayor of miami-dade county, i was very worried about drones and the threat that they pose to our airports and our port facilities, even on a local level. and so, yeah, we as a nation need to start focusing in on this threat and we as a nation need to -- if we in congress have to make some laws that allows, you know, the agencies to take more appropriate action. we need to do it. but also our capabilities. we don't have the capabilities that we need to deal with them today. much less the drones of the future, which are going to be

>> steve: good have you as well. you stopped by when the book anxious generation came out. set the table. explain real briefly for the people watching how does social media rewire the brain of a kid? >> so imagine a kid growing up, going through pursuant and suddenly, in 2010, 2012, kids are getting -- they are getting a smart phone, they are getting social media and now instead of interacting with their friends and laughing with them. they are all holding a phone in front of their face. social media is the main thing that seems to hook kids. especially girls. the platforms are able to design these things to trap our kids to keep them on, when you block social interaction you are blocking social development. >> steve: indeed. so, what would this particular bill do? >> so, the online safe-t act is piece of legislation that's been completely bipartisan from the start. this is something i have seen.

republican, democrat, all around the world. people have kids. and if you are a parent. you have seen this happen. have you seen your kids slipping away. what it does is says there are some limits on what the platforms can do to your child. your child can still say anything they want online. they can search for anything they want online. but costa says the platforms have some responsibility. they cannot send your child content that promotes suicide. self-harm, and a few other things like that. it has no effect on free speech. it's a limitation for the first time a limitation on what the platforms can do to your child. >> steve: it seems, professor, like a no-brainer. i mean, we wants to protect our kids, and, yet, we know big tech, big money, they don't wants this to happen because they love the gravy train. >> that's right. the big social media platforms are spending hundreds of millions of dollars to influence congress and they seem to be succeeding, able to gum things up. even though this bill passed the

senate, 91-3. in this divided country, what other topic can we get almost perfect bipartisan support. even though elon musk weighed in on this. elon musk and x, they negotiated even further protections to completely make it clear that this cannot influence -- this cannot compromise anybody's right to speak. so elon musk is fine with it. donald trump jr. came out promoting it. sarah huckabee sanders, so, a speech concerns have been addressed. we have got to past this now. pass costa by christmas. >> steve: it's passed the senate. marsha blackburn of kentucky is saying okay, house, get on it. why isn't the house moving on it? >> i mean, i am not an expert on that. it looks as though meta has spent an awful lot of money in louisiana and, you know, i don't know the reason. but, for some reason, the speaker is holding it up. and saying that they are going to get more free speech
