vandenberg. claudia. >> good afternoon, john, this man living in los angeles but arrested on monday at the san francisco international airport just as he was about to fly from san francisco to china. 39-year-old is accused of using a drone equipped with detection avoidant software to take aerial photographs at vandenberg space force space. 300 miles south of santa barbara county on novembe. according to federal criminal complaint on that same day november 30th, defensive payload for national reconnaissance office had been launched to orbit by space contractor. that contractor spacex launch several spy satellites from vandenberg all without incident. at this point, joe faces charges of misusing drone and violating national defense based. but the real defense, what he may have been up to. according to federal affidavit, he flew the drone near a park about an hour a mile above the

ground. another person with him, he claimed they were camping nearby and happened to come across the base right before the launch, which by the way, took place in the middle of the night. the pasted detection system spotted him and security officers, he tried to hide the drone under his jacket. he had download software to fly the drone higher and bypass no-fly's own restrictions. he knew taking photos at the base "probably not a good idea, in fact, illegal." no motive revealed or espionage charges filed but clearly alleged activity on the same day as spy satellite launch raises all kinds of red flags. this man, joe, remains him federal custody in san francisco, john. >> john: thank you so much, sandra. >> continuing coverage of joan's lighting up the sky in new jersey which shocking claims

we know the department of defense has technology to monitor these drones. we see drones shot down in the middle east and in ukraine. the problem is, we don't have the department of defense in new jersey at this time. so that the department of defense comes in, shuts down the airspace completely to drones, limited state of emergency, no drones in the sky until we figure out what is going on here. but without the department of defense, we will have no information because the technology is way beyond state officials. >> john: so we have to wonder what the governor of the state is doing at this moment. this is what phil murphy said about the drones recently. listen here appear to these are apparently, as i understand it,y thin sophisticated in the minute you get eyes on them, they go dark. we are all basically imposed concern about sensitive targets
