he thinks if i go for the bat for inner city america or for minorities in my city, i'm going to make the hard decision against the law enforcement. but, law enforcement and his people actually agree. he is the impediment. so is the denver mayor the impediment. denver is falling apart crushing under own weight. more illegals and immigrants than even new york city. all this mayor cares about i'm going to fight for my people. do you understand that your people are asking you to get out of the way. >> lawrence: he once agreed. he told us in the interview they're at this their breaking point. magically when donald trump is elected then he turns back to the same old thing. you can't just resist because it's trump. you got to do what your people are asking you to do. >> steve: chicago people are simply saying look, you are spending too much money on the migrants. do you know what i think the people of chicago would like? a department of government efficiency. they need a doge in chicago.

hunter who faced sentencing this month for felony tax and gun convictions. white house lawyers say those pardons this morning had all been convicted of nonviolent crimes drug offenses and say they have sense turned their lives around, lawrence? >> we will be looking out for the rest of the list, thanks, brooke. today the incoming border czar tom homan is set to meet with the new york city mayor eric adams and will put sanctuary states and cities on notice. meanwhile on the west coast, san diego county is resisting trump's border plan and declaring themselves a super sanctuary. they will limit any cooperation with ice. san diego county district five supervisor jim desmond joins us now. so, jim, what's the deal here. why the resistance of criminal aliens? >> well, you know, this is just crazy. my colleagues voted to sever the direct access that our local law enforcement has for certain crimes. and these are the heinous crimes. this is rape, this is kidnapping. this is, you know, deadly force

and things like that. if we i someone is arrested for those crimes here in san diego county. local law enforcement has been able to turn them over to ice. well, my colleagues voted to block that. and so now, these people have more of a chance of getting out, getting back into our communities, and making our communities, particularly the immigrant communities, the ones they are trying to protect less safe. and so i was alone vote on that and this is just some going on in california. >> lawrence: unbelievable. this is not really a liberal or a conservative issue. just criminals protecting the residents here. this is what ice had to say about this. some jurisdictions have chosen to limit their cooperation with ice in recent years. unfortunately. these noncooperation policies often end up shielding dangerous criminals who victimize the same communities. so, essentially the people that they are saying they want to protect, they are actually

putting them in harm's way by keeping the violent offenders in their communities. >> you are absolutely right. and they are also saying that, you know, we are breaking up families. you always hear about that excuse. well, the person who committed the crime, the heinous crime, is the one that's breaking up the families. we're trying to protect the other families in the neighborhoods that they are going to be going back to, essentially. so, by blocking access to ice here in california, these are the same people that have voted in san diego county for a $5 million budget item that's going to pay for anybody that's being deported. out of -- to pay for their legal fees. so, you know, san diego, we are kind of the doormat of the border here. we got boats coming up on shore. we have been inundated with street dropoffs over 155,000. we want to keep our streets and our neighborhoods safe. and let's be able to turn over these hard criminals to ice.
