with its best fighter back in the ring. and that's the angle. joining me now, charlie hurt, "washington times" opinion editor mollie hemingway. the federalist editor and chief, both fox news contributors, charlie, i will start with you. now, when you watch this today, trump back in new york. we remember him in the bronx doing that rally. in the bronx and now at the stock exchange. your reaction? >> yeah, it really is true extraordinary. the entire arc, especially of the last few months but also over the past year and the past four years for him to be where he is today. compared to, you know, considering everything that he has been through. what i think is really interesting and i think everybody -- just about everybody in the media outside of maybe the three of us and a few other people, the thing that everybody missed is that the message that donald trump has always carried is a very

centrist message with common sense solutions to real problems effecting people in their very daily lives. whether it's inflation, crime, or the open border, you know, obviously there were some of these other, you know, sort of more philosophical fights. but he was running a very practical campaign. and i think that that's what broke through and obviously he won over a lot of people who probably don't really like him that much. but they trust him. and they love his policies. and they think that he is got better answers for the problems they care the most about. >> laura: well, mollie, i think you would say trump's stock is up, up, up. and seems like there is no limit to how high he can go right no. the business world, they are on board, very excited, watch this. >> we're stepping into, i would say, the most pro-growth, pro-business, pro-american

administration i have seen in my adult lifetime. everyone is incredibly enthusiastic really about a new administration that's about efficiency, removing the impediments to growth. deregulation. >> laura: of course, mollie, a lot of these big business types are very anti-tariff as well. but i honestly think trump doesn't care. he is going to do what he needs to do for the american worker. >> people talk so much about how this was the best political comeback in american history for donald trump that is certainly true, obviously. with everything they threw at him the lawfare, the assassination attempts, everybody in the media saying that he had no chance at winning re-election. but i like to think about how much of a comeback this is for the american people you had three out of last four presidencies were failed presidencies. and when trump was elected the first time. this was the american people saying we are really sick of this sluggish economy. all of the problems with how we were fighting wars. nobody controlling the border.

they do this unthinkable thing and elect donald trump and then you have the regime come down and say we are not going to let this be a normal presidency. when you think about everything that was done. these people sticking with donald trump because they do trust him, like to your point, on the economy, but also on how he handled all these other things. and so, this is -- i think why people feel so good right now is because they realize how much they fought for this and how much they had to go through and they, you know, stuck with trump because they knew that he was someone who was listening to them, to their concerns. and he delivered on it in his first term and so they are optimistic now. >> laura: charlie, biden, i don't think, occasionally you will see biden and he will say something and we have to cover it. but he doesn't seem so thrilled about being kind of forgotten watch. >> "time" magazine another commentators described the economy i'm leaving to my successor and there is a number of these quotes. president-elect trump is receiving the strongest economy in modern history, which is the envy of the world.

yeah. >> people didn't realize what other people were willing to do to accomplish these goals, and everyone is so much wiser now, i think it will be more difficult for democrats and their accomplices in the media to accomplish what they did in first term because we are all ready for it. >> laura: do you agree if they get back in power the first thing they will try to do is beach is trump. do you have any doubt about that? >> you know, i actually am not so sure about that because i think that they got burned so badly the last time. i am a little bit optimistic, the other thing is that to mollie's point, i also think that trump is much wiser this time, and he understands the importance of surrounding himself by loyalists and, you know, the other side of can complain some of these people are higher on loyalty and maybe not the perfect choice for some cabinet position. trump has learned his lesson and he is not going to make the same mistake this time. is he going to make sure that he has people that are on -- in step with him, to carry out his

know there were a total of 26, quote: confidential human sources in the crowd. but the fbi says that only three of those confidential sources were told who attend, to, quote, report on domestic terrorism subjects who were possibly attending the event. now, four of those sources entered the capitol and 13 went into a restricted area around the capitol. but, of course, none of them were prosecuted. the report also found that the fbi failed to take the basic step of canvassing its field offices for intel ahead of january 6th, then concludes that the fbi did not take all the steps that could have been taken to develop as complete a picture of the january 6th threat potential. joining me now, ohio congressman jim jordan, chairperson of the house judiciary committee. congressman, when you read the press accounts tonight on this revelation and this ig report.

they claim that this vindicates the fbi. that there were no agents there how should we look at this? >> no it validates what we all suspected. but congressman higgens was asking -- the answer to the question was yes. and you can say there were 26 the truth is confidential human sources fancy name for sky. 26 of them here on january 6th, 2021. four of them entered the capitol. zero were prosecuted. you are not allowed to do something against the law which they did when they entered the capitol. i have a number of questions. how did they get in. did they go through a window. were they part of the first wave. i want to know the specifics about who entered the capitol. we know what happened to american citizens and one of the things concerned about all along unequal application of the law. how much were they paid? we know some of them got reimbursed confidential human sources get paid when they bring information to the government. how much were they paid?
