immigrants. adams says his team is looking at a lot of ways to get around the city council on repealing the sanctuary laws that are right now in place here. >> dana: the situation in new york has become untenable. more than 750,000 illegal immigrants, nearly of 60,000 rap sheet and many republican thought to be gang members. >> mayor adams says new york city won't be a safe haven for migrants who repeat violent crime. tom homan is on the same page as him. the pair discussed immigration reform, border security and deportations. the meeting comes on the heels of adams' repeat criticism of the biden administration for its lack of financial support. adams says he and homan have the same desire, to go after migrants committing violent acts. the city is limited by its sanctuary laws which prevent close collaboration between

police and ice. adams says he is exploring how he can bypass it. >> i'm going to try to attempt to use my executive orders to go after dangerous people committing violent acts against migrants and asylum seekers and long term new yorkers and undocumented immigrants. no one should be a victim of a crime in a city, particularly violent crime. >> with an influx of more than 225,000 migrants since the spring of 2022 there has been an unprecedented surge costing more than $6 billion. nearly 57,000 migrants are still in the city's care and in recent weeks adams announcing that 25 shelters in the city and state are closing in the coming months. this year a series of high profile cases involving migrants have made headlines in the big apple like this assault on a pair of nypd officers and police have warned the violent venezuelan gang tren de aragua is in the city. just a couple of weeks ago ice confirmed two members of that

gang were arrested here during a drug and gun bust. adams says he has learned there are 500,000 migrant children who have come into the country with sponsors but no one knows where they are at or if they are being exp exploited. >> bill: in a different state the d.a. in the jocelyn nungaray case announced on fox news earlier today her office will seek the death penalty for two migrants accused of murdering this beautiful young talented 12-year-old girl. from dallas brooke taylor has the story now. hello. >> under texas law, believe it or not when there is a capital murder case involving a child between ten to 15 years old, it doesn't fall under the death penalty. but add sexual assault to that and it does become death penalty eligible. district attorney now believes that there is enough evidence in this case where a jury will find both of these illegal migrants

guilty and sentence them to death. let's rehash this case, though. 12-year-old jocelyn nungaray found strangled to death in a creek in june. investigators say she snuck out of her home. that's when they say she came across the two defendants. surveillance footage shows them outside of a seven he leaven before they lured her under a bridge for two hours. she was tied up and partially undressed. both suspects were roommates living in an apartment building nearby. according to ice both are have venezuela and came in illegal just months before the murder. they were released with notices to appear. district attorney kim owing on "fox & friends" this morning where she first announced her office is going to be seeking the death penalty. >> we are seeking death because we want the message out there that regardless of who you are

but especially if you are illegally in this country, that you will face the same consequences as anyone else for murdering a child during the course of raping and kidnapping her. >> district attorney kim ogg says she has spoken to jocelyn's family. her mother is in full support. she has been outspoken since this case first came into light saying that she blames the biden border policy for her daughter's death and i can tell you i have spoken to her myself throughout this case and this is something she has told me she has been hoping for. >> bill: quite a challenge for that family. thank you, brooke taylor in dal yes, sir with the latest. >> dana: a former d.e.a. special agent in charge of special operations division and i just want to get your take on that. it didn't have to be this way. if we had a secure border, jocelyn would be alive today. >> dana, thank you for having me back. 100%. these reckless policies have not

only caused the death of jocelyn nungaray but look at the destruction around our cities in this country. it's very sad. president trump is on a mission to unite, not divide our citizens and keep everybody safe. this is not about republican safety, it is about american safety. >> bill: deric, i don't know if you heard a moment ago the comment from tom homan after his meeting with eric adams. i was sitting there and talking to a cop. he was a transit cop in new york. getting a lot of bushback from the far left. it is despicable that he is not up holding values as a sanctuary city by collaborating with tom homan. the rubber will meet the road. who will win in this battle here? >> well, clearly the america first train is moving full speed ahead. tom homan has worked decades to keep americans safe. he is very patriotic, very

passionate and president trump has a plan. he has put together a very experienced national security team. this is going to be very well planned. this is going to be very well executed and focused on getting rid of the criminals that are causing chaos in the cities. one thing that i want to say is that if you look at what is happening to our cities, regular people they can't walk around and can't feel safe anymore. it is unacceptable. tom homan is very, very laser focused on making sure all citizens not only new york city but in this country can remain safe. >> dana: derrick, tom homan was on "fox & friends" this morning. let's take a little more of a listen to him here. >> i don't think it's a -- it shouldn't be a partisan issue. republicans and democrats and independent. public safety. what elected mayor or elected governor doesn't want public safety for its communities? that's what angers me. yesterday's meeting with a good meeting and i gave him credit.

once he agreed to sit down. i won't give their names. two other mayors reached out and verify they want to meet with me. >> dana: everybody wants the help maybe. the mayors are saying okay, perhaps trump can give us the political cover we need in order to do the right thing to try to get the illegal immigrants, the violent ones in particular, out of the way right away. are you seeing something similar from your circles especially when it comes not just to the violent criminals but the drugs coming into the country? >> people recognize that on november 5th the american public spoke out. the republicans won by unanimous majority vote and now president trump is going to execute exactly what he has promised. he will keep every american safer. like tom homan is very -- the best pick for this job because he has done it for a living. the team he is putting together

lacrosse team. steve harrigan has the story from atlanta. hi, steve. >> this was really a long time coming, this admission goes back to 2006. 18 years ago when this stripper at a duke university lacrosse team party claimed that she was raped by three of the players, now for the first time she says it never happened. she lied and made up the story. crystal, now 46 years old and is in prison serving a 14-year sentence for murdering her boyfriend spoke to the independent media saying she lied, was never raped. but she still has no regrets about what happened. >> i don't have any regrets. everything happens to get everybody to the point where they are. and it's all to show god's love and his forgiveness, his grace and his mercy. >> this is a story that got

national attention. on one side you had three white students at an elite university pre-judged by the media, by their own university and by the prosecution. fox's own brit hume was one of the few early skeptics of the rush to pre-judgment. the durham d.a. was disbarred for withholding evidence that would have exonerated the three students. the president of duke university at the time also later admitted we got it wrong. he suspended the three students, canceled the lacrosse season and the coach resigned. so the fallout from this lie affected a lot of lives. in the end one year later the three students exonerated, case dismissed. they sued duke and brodhead and received undisclosed amounts. >> dana: wow, you going way back. that story still resonates. thank you so much. >> one, two, three. one, two, three all coming

together. the actual [bleep] is going on? >> a lot of people wonder that same question, frankly. the white house down playing any potential threats to national security for the public. the lack of answers making a lot of lawmakers livid. one from new jersey. >> we know they aren't backyard drones that some hobbyist is using. not a commercial company. a full decade behind where china is with drones. the government claims it is not them. we aren't being told the truth. they're dealing with the american public like we're stupid. >> new york republican congresswoman malliotakis. good morning to you. you represent staten island. i understand they will' have a press conference in 40 minutes. do you know what will come from that yet? >> we're demanding answers from our government. they need to be straight with the people. we need the biden administration and our governor hochul and our mayor to tell us what's going on. i don't buy that they don't know what this is.

i know that the state has actually put in a significant number of resources into drones. there are hundreds of drones that our state and city agencies are operating for surveillance. they were over the summer looking at the amount of sharks in the water. going over parties in the city of new york. are they spying on us? our government? we don't know the answer. i know that the government does know and they just need to be honest with the people. this is giving them anxiety and concerned and rightly so and public safety aspect. perhaps it is not a nefarious foreign actor but a real possibility of an accident, of a crash. new york city is densely populated. so there needs to be restrictions put in place. this cannot continue. >> bill: that's a good point. that's a very good point. i don't think a lot of people are making that. a lot of aircraft in the new york city area based on the population. here is john kirby taking a bit of a sidestep on it.

watch. >> there is no known malicious activity occurring, the reported sightings there do, however, highlight a gap in authorities. and so we urge congress to pass important legislation that will extend and expand existing counter drone authorities better prepared to identify and mitigate any potential threats to airports or other critical infrastructure and state and local authorities are provided all the tools that they need to respond to such threats as well. >> bill: he was reading that. i don't know that sounds ridiculous to think this is on congress. >> well, first of all we can pass some authorities and resources so they can get certain equipment they need. that will take years for them to implement. this could be a direct threat right now and the government is saying that there is no known threat doesn't mean that there is not a threat. and i go back to the public safety issue. even if this is a commercial operator, which they are saying they don't have information that

it is, there could be some type of accident that takes place or explosion. we don't know what's in these drones or if there is a certain type of batteries or -- and i have to just say that this is unconscionable to me that the f.a.a. is not putting flight restrictions right now particularly over sensitive facilities. we have these drones flying over a bridge that connects u.s. coast guard base in staten island and the u.s. army installation in fort hamilton in brooklyn and they're going over power plants and other critical facilities, one of president trump's homes. they put flight restrictions there, by the way, in bedminster. they should be doing the same. they have the ability to crack down on this today and they just aren't doing it. >> bill: brett is awesome on this topic. roll what he said. >> the technology exists to stop

investigators in california recognized luigi mangione but o. last month his mom reported him missing ine hadn't talked to him in nearly six months. just days after she filed that report, dana, police say mangione killed brian thompson in new york city even though wanted posters, sources tell me the suspect's family never called in a single tip. a guy i talked to who lives in hawaii who only met mangione a few times he thought about those posters twice. >> looks like one of my customers because of the eyebrows, but i said oh, it couldn't be. i didn't think anything more because he was so far away over there. >> police tell me mangione was never a client of united healthcare even though investigators say the whole thing was targeted for the company's ceo. what was the motive is the question? it might have to do with the x-ray that police say he posted online telling people he had

problem that he solved, as he managesed. he brought it back down. it was high and now it's low. it is still almost double what it was when he took office. and i think this is what you are seeing in the fox polling and you see it in others, people look at inflation as a problem they have now that is causing them pain. not as something that was an issue when it surged in 2022 and that has been resolved. i still don't think he or whoever crafts his material understands this where he is joking the other day how he should have taken more credit for all the spending. no, that is your central problem. that's what caused a big part of this inflation. and the white house still hasn't reckoned with that. >> jessica. ihas been a problem and it is what arguably cost him the election that people had this kind of sentiment and comments all over the world were thrown out as well as big problems for down ballot ticket. taking credit for more spending

will really see before and when that happens prices will start coming down because people can't afford their groceries and they will be affording their groceries very soon. >> dana: one of the ways to do that is bring energy prices down. the transport of these goods is causing a lot of the problems. >> yeah. i think that was part of the biden problem right from the start of his administration canceling pipelines and so forth. but i think your polling should be warning the president trump. looks like he is getting the message. people don't just want an end to inflation. they want deflation. a lot of people in wall street and washington -- >> dana: or wage increases. >> yes. but obviously a lot of people in washington, the fed, they kind of think moderate inflation is good. i think this is a message from americans they want no inflation and they want deflation if they can get it. >> if you can get it. >> bill: it's not easy. they will give it a shot. he did it before.

he says i'll do it again. >> i wish him the best. we'll all, you know, benefit of the doubt for now. millions of people chose him to be the steward of the economy going into this new era. and i wish him the best with it. i want everyone to have the lowest possible prices for everything. these are steep challenges and easy to be on the campaign trail and say i have a magic wand and i will show up and command prices down. or i'm going to fix the energy sector. we have been producing record levels of oil in world history, by the way. we'll see what happens. >> dana: it's interesting. the biden administration try to have it both ways on so many things. on the permitting things. one of the reasons they are happening is because the permits it takes a long time to get them in place. they were done in the trump administration, biden puts a chill on it. their long range investments that you have to make. it's not the easiest thing in the world to say i will start

prison prompting renewed hope for an american family of austin tice. trey yengst reports from damascus again today. >> good morning. we spoke with one person involved in the search for austin who said around 100 different sites are being checked. we visited two of them today. >> receiving a tip from a u.s. intelligence source we arrive at the national security services building in damascus. local residents say this is where the assad regime held some of their most important prisoners. we're looking for information on one in particular. u.s. journalist austin tice who was kidnapped in 2012. >> right now we're underneath this security services building where many of the high-profile prisoners were believed to be held under the assad regime looking for austin tice or any about him. like many government-linked

buildings the basement is also a jail. signs of torture and horrific conditions. but no signs of life. upstairs the hallways of this facility are charred. some of the rooms have detailed prisoner logs for a variety of syrian detention centers. they have also got thousands of prisoner cards. >> there is so much information here when you see all of it. it's hard to imagine how it could ever go through it and be able to find -- these kids are bringing in photos of the detainees and you just wonder is there a photo of austin somewhere here? austin tice, it's remarkable the amount of information left behind by the assad regime at this security services building. it looks like officials left quickly and lit everything on fire to try and destroy as much information as possible. but left behind in these filing cabinets you see prisoner sheets
