turning on aoc. my endorsement of aoc is probably hurting her which i think is amusing they're willing to go back to another boring old guy like connolly. aoc, i think she represents a big segment of the democrat party. that believes in socialism. that believes in the green new deal that believes and woke as if the democrats want a real democrat to lead the oversight committee on their site i think aoc is perfect for. arthel: what about her leadership qualities? look, lucky for her she is in the minority so she does not have to display a lot of leadership qualities. all they are going to do is try to complain, obstructed to things like that. i think aoc is the best they've got it that tells you anything about the democrats on the oversight committee. arthel: if you're going to part of the aoc fan club you've got to give her more you got to give us more applause for her leadership qualities you did not

ted first i would like to talk about one question on the case that eric just reported on former sheriff's deputy shawna grace in charge of first-degree murder for killing 36-year-old sonja massie inside her home felt. as eric just reported until the court decides whether to consider his bid to go free as he awaits her trial for now sean grayson is ordered to remain in jail i just wanted to ask you did the illinois appellate court get it right? >> merry christmas to you, arthel. let me say i do believe the illinois appellate court got it right. this man, certainly look at the video there there is an as to whether he actually murdered that woman in that case. i think they got it right the same effect must go to chris so now she is asked the former farr lacrosse players to forgive her.

can those players and others who lost their job in the process truly recover from the damage her original testimony created? >> you know, arthel, i keep using the words lives ruined. i remember in 2006 that i was on the ground there at duke covering this duke lacrosse players rape. everything we believed there is that it divided this nation. on one side these were white privileged kids. on the other side was a poor black woman that had been raped. and so come as a result of that after the investigation by roy cooper who is now the governor of north carolina, the charges were dropped. but the stigma remained. these three young men, their lives were ruined.

they had to live with that. their family, relatives and friends and people in this nation wondering, wha was the wn actually raped? and now to find out that i awaken here a few mornings ago to find that she is in prison now for killing her boyfriend, that she lied. she is now confessing. no, no you can never go and get your reputation back from all of those years. you have to feel for those three young men. arthel: issue currently said she is in prison for her second degree murder of her boyfriend. she cannot face new charges is what i understand as it connects to these false allegations. these allegations against the lacrosse players should this prompt changes in perjury cases and charges? >> i think you have to take each case separately.

quite naturally the legislature down there may very well want to revisit what it takes to bring in the statute of limitation for perjury charges. but, this sad commentary is sheet will now have to live with this ally against these three young men for the rest of her life. that will not go away. i am deeply concerned, i must tell you about real victims of rape. that they can come forward and not be questioned. what i would suggest there just needs to be a strong and firm investigation to try to determine the accusations. arthel: that's what is going to ask about the impact of actual the defense of actual rape victims you said they should
