vehicle thing as well. maybe we'll hear from him on the subject for maybe not. >> bill: technology has changed. nice to see you in philadelphia. thank you. >> dana: before we go saturday was a special day. a national wreaths across america day. volunteers placing wreaths in national cemeteries. a very special tradition that has really taken hold and grown. they do beautiful work and you can help deliver to grave sites for others on their behalf if you want to. katie pavlich has done that for years. we have a busy week and great week as well. see you on "the five" tonight. "the faulkner focus" is next. >> harris: we begin with a fox news alert. president-elect donald trump is set to give remarks at any

moment now on a number of issues that we at least know that it could possibly be on that won him the white house, the economy and the issue of jobs. he is at mar-a-lago at his home in palm beach, florida, with the ceo of japanese investment powerhouse soft bank. we understand that there is talk in place of 100,000 jobs. perhaps that's where he will start today. incoming white house press secretary karoline leavitt has told fox news today the company is promising a $100 billion investment into the american economy. we'll take you there live as soon as this begins. now this. the frustration, concerns and for some because of the proximity of them to their own homes, fear. all of it is growing over the number of mysterious drone sightings. i'm harris faulkner and you are
8:02 am
in "the faulkner focus." after nearly a month of reported sightings across the country. i want to put a point on it, night after night after night after night, 27 nights now. people who live in these states particularly new jersey and lawmakers have more questions than answers. the drones began being concentrated over new jersey before spreading more widely. look at the map. we're coast to coast now. people are reporting sightings from new england in california. we know it's them because they come in clusters and some are as large as an s.u.v. so you don't have to be too close to see them. when they go over your house, though, i can tell you they sound like they have rotors on them like if it were many helicopters rolled into one. my daughter, bella and i, were watching them late last week in our neighborhood. some sightings have been confirmed over or near military installations. the pentagon says it doesn't
8:03 am
know who is responsible despite fears alejandro mayorkas is trying to downplay it. >> i want to assure the american public that we in the federal government have deployed additional resources, personnel and technology to assist the new jersey state police in addressing the drone sightings. some are, in fact, drones. some are manned aircraft that are commonly mistaken for drones. >> harris: you will forgive us when you start with i want to assure the american people because we actually have experienced what he has done in leadership on the border and other items. critics and lawmakers are not happy with that response from him. >> the biden administration and state authorities have to be more vocal and let people know exactly what they're doing. a lack of communication from the government at the federal and state level that's at fault here. >> the administration needs to be more forthcoming with information that they have.
8:04 am
>> the bottom line is they need to be honest with the public. let us know what's going on. this doesn't make sense. >> i don't know anything more about that than i read in the papers. can't give you great insight on that. >> are you concerned, though? >> am i concerned? yeah, i guess, you know. what can i tell you? yes, i'm concerned. >> harris: okay, bernie sanders trying to nail down the answer of yes, he is concerned. nate foye is in elizabeth, new jersey south of newark with more on this. people are having this night after night. there is so much video now. >> video from several different states on both the east and west coast, harris. the longer this mystery drags out, the more people worry for their health and safety. here is what we do know. the federal government is sending advance drone detection technology to new york and new

jersey. you have heard several times the f.b.i., white house and d.h.s. saying there is no reason to believe there is a public safety threat. congressman mark green earlier this morning said we don't know enough to make those assurances. >> we know for a fact it's not d.o.d. if they were flying test drones or some agency of the federal government, they would own it. the fact they are out there saying there is no evidence means that they have no knowledge. they don't know what this is. >> harris, take a look at these videos from several different states. military and critical infrastructure sites are a top priority. over the weekend the air force base near dayton, ohio shut done its airspace. unmanned ariel systems were reported over the air base between the 13th and 14th of december. friday and saturday. today installation leaders have determined none of the incursions impacted base

residents, facilities for assets. jeff van drew says drones with hovering a nuclear facility in salem county, new jersey and the white house, f.b.i. say they are actually airplanes. fox news flight team saw an example. thermal imaging shows what happened to be a drone in new jersey turned out to be a plane. dhs secretary mayorkas is calling for legislative changes to empower state authorities. >> we want state and local authorities to also have the ability to counter drone activity under federal supervision. one important element that we have requested and we've heard it echoed by the state and local officials themselves. >> former new jersey governor chris christie said over the weekend the biden administration needs to start providing answers or pretty soon we could see new jersey residents take things into their own hands and start shooting these drones down and we heard from president-elect
8:07 am
donald trump on friday putting some pressure on the biden administration essentially saying the same thing. either give answers or start shooting these things down, harris. >> harris: you mentioned that nuclear facility in new jersey. are there any extra precautions they're taking at that particular location? >> we have not heard from any officials taking any specific actions regarding that nuclear power plant facility in salem county. however, the f.b.i. has received over 5,000 tips as far as this investigation. they're taking the trips credibly. >> harris: if they thought there was evidence of anything that could hurt us, would they even tell us at this point? i don't know. so nate foye, thank you very much. fox news contributor, former special operations intelligence analyst and drone expert, all
8:08 am
right. let's drill down with you. first of all, people are not imagining this. i have described how they sound. so they don't sound like a plane. what do you make of it and what should next steps be? >> hundreds of people from around the world are sending me photos and videos of sightings. a secret. we're not going to know what happened here because the u.s. government has zero clue how to handle drone threats in our airspace now and zero will to change anything about it. we are no longer in control of our own airspace. this foreign concept to think our government doesn't know what is going on. we're a powerful country. i'm sorry to tell you the truth is they don't know what's going on. we don't dominate the drone market in the country. no one better drone technology than us before. not anymore. we're no longer in control over our airspace and drone sightings in new jersey are proofing. technology exists to track this.
8:09 am
is reason the u.s. government doesn't have answers they don't know how to detect, deter and mitigate drones. they act like they have it handled and we don't. we've been telling senior leaders for years about this problem and it has to change. i'm so tired of the u.s. government dragging their feet on bringing our country up to speed and look, this is a -- i'm sending a public service announcement to kash patel. he has a long list to do at the f.b.i. and transform them. i want him to know the drone department in the f.b.i. headquarters and drone office in f.a.a. need an overhaul. they are policies setting the conditions for gaps in our own defenses. the leaders need to be fired and start bringing in the real experts who can come in and bring the proper electronic warfare systems and give people the right authorization to detect. it is getting out of hand. >> harris: you expedited the
8:10 am
message. clip it and put it everywhere. and i would think that the present biden-harris administration might want to take note of what you just said, too. here is what most disturbs me out of what you said. zero ability to control and will, zero ability and will to control our own airspace. what do you think our enemies will make of that? >> exactly. they are paying attention, harris, make no mistake. even if this isn't adversarial are enemies are watching and laughing at the gaps. my sorcerers in the industry tell me these drone incursions are happening almost every october and december for the last three years. i don't know if you know about that. ten months ago a counter drone team was contacted by local law enforcement in the region to start prepping for this october and december. as it got closer guess what? they ran into authority problems at the highest levels. weren't given authorization to do much of anything.
8:11 am
shut down using counter drone detection equipment beus this authorization issue employing sophisticated electronic warfare systems. somebody needs to be fired in the offices. the administration don't want d.o.d. working on u.s. soil even though they have the best systems in place to do this. we focus that overseas, not domestically. the current administration can fix the problem. what they're saying is they're not willing to fix it. >> harris: look, you've thrown a lot at us and that accountability, the drone debacle is a perfect end to biden's you don't need to know presidency. that's an op-ed headline today that we want to show our guests on our way out of this segment. this is a lot of don't worry about that, we have it. that's what they did with the border. that's what they've done with so many things and we still have a month to go with this current white house leadership. brett, amazing information today. thank you. >> thanks, harris.
8:12 am
>> harris: well, he just chilled everybody's soul with that. that's a lot. we do not have the ability or the will right now to control our own airspace. not only is that embarrassing, it is dangerous. fury in chicago over the progressive mayor's handling of the border crisis. i was just mentioning that along with the drone story, something else that explodes under the biden-harris administration. incoming border czar, though, tom homan already is warning chicago and other sanctuary cities that plan to push back on the trump administration's deportation plan. virginia's governor is backing him. >> it is so refreshing to hear a border czar do the job that a border czar must do. every state is a border state. we've seen the biden administration unleash chaos. >> harris: while some democratic leaders are bolstering their resistance against trump.
8:13 am
new york city's mayor is breaking with his fellow mayors. we've seen this in recent days and expressed a willingness to work with the incoming trump admini administrations to keep cities like his safe. congressman mike lawler in "focus" next. what i'm talking a. your spouse has earned the right to apply for a va home loan. the newday 100 loan allows you to borrow up to 100% of your home's value. so if you're in a situation where you need some help financially, give us a call. my name is brayden. i was five years old when i came to st. jude. i'll try and shorten down the story. so i've been having these headaches that wouldn't go away. my mom, she was just crying.

41% jump. the biggest jump we've had in 39 years. nobody has ever seen anything like it. they are very optimistic. this historic investment is a monumental demonstration in confidence in america's future and it will help insure that artificial intelligence, emerging technologies and other industries of tomorrow are built, created and grown here in the usa. one of the beautiful things about masa, he is very much involved with emerging technology. probably knows it maybe better than almost anybody. so it's a great honor and some of you remember after the 2016 election also saw committed to invest $50 billion in our
8:18 am
country and they did. a very place to say they kept that promise in every way, shape and form and now they are looking to do 100. i looked at their books. they have the possibility of doing more. i'll ask him to do more. first i will ask him to speak and just to say a few words. please, thank you. >> thank you very much. appreciate it. thank you. >> thank you so much. i am very, very excited. i would really like to celebrate the great victory of president trump. and my confidence level to the economy of the united states has tremendously increased with his victory. so because of that, i am now excited to commit this $1 hundred billion and 100,000 jobs
8:19 am
into the united states. this is double of last time, as president trump said. oh, president trump is a double down president. i will have to double down. this is my confidence level. it has doubled down. so i am truly excited to make this happen and, of course, business is important. technology is important. but one more thing i am really hoping is that this president trump would make the world, bring the world into peace again. that's my additional hope. and i think he will actually make it happen. so anyway, i am excited to go --
8:20 am
we were discussing and president trump said masa, double down is not enough. maybe, you know, go for more, right? >> that's right. i will ask him right now. would you make it $2 hundred billion instead of one? [laughter] >> would you do that? >> well, my promise is 100 but, you know, he is asking to do more. i think, you know, with your leadership and my partnership with you and your support i will try to make it happen. >> that's great. 200. he will make it happen. $200 billion investment. >> he is a great negotiator. >> he is a brilliant guy. the people of japan and all over the world are very proud of him.
8:21 am
they have tremendous respect for him. what he does when he just did, i would be surprised if it didn't go to 200. when you say you will try, i will know you'll do it. >> i will really try. i need your support, though. >> you will have my support. thank you. >> appreciate it. >> thank you. >> say hello to the people in japan watching? >> well, i'm sure our people in japan are proud to make the partnership of u.s. and japan be stronger. and i'm very excited to make this happen. thank you very much. >> thank you. [applause] >> great job. thank you. it's amazing. a great gentleman, a great leader, and a great investor. to have that offer made and we
8:22 am
have so many companies coming in now that will be announcing or will announce themselves. we don't have to be with them to do it. they will be announcing. as i said, small business optimism took a 41-point jump. 41 points. it went up 41 points. that's unheard of and that's the biggest they think in recorded history. they know at least a minimum of 39 years. that's great. on behalf of the american people i want to thank him for his faith in what is happening with our country and what is happening with the world. there is a whole light over the entire world. many people, some reporters said it actually is true. a couple of them are not necessarily friends of mine but they said it is actually true that there is a light shining over the world. we're trying to help very strongly in getting the hostages back, as you know, with israel and the middle east. we're working very much on that. we're trying to get the war stopped, that horrible, horrible war that's going on in ukraine with russia and ukraine.
8:23 am
we're going to -- got a little progress. it's a tough one, a nasty one. it is nasty. people are being killed at levels that nobody has ever seen. it is very level fields and the only thing that stops a bullet is a body, a human body. and the number of soldiers that are being killed on both sides is astronomical. i have never seen anything like it. rapidly. i get reports every week and it is not even -- it's like just they are going down. nobody has seen anything like it. a very flat land and why it's great farming land. it's the bread basket for the world, actually. but it is very flat and there is nothing to stop a bullet but a body. no protection, no nothing. it is -- what's happening there is far worse than people are reporting. for both sides. so we're going to do our best. we've been doing our best and see what happens. since the election, i've been
8:24 am
working every day to put the world at ease a little bit to get rid of the wars. we had no wars when i left office. and now it's the whole world is blowing up. there is great optimism and you saw that by soft bank starting on day one we'll implement the rapid series of bold reforms to restore our nation, to full prosperity. we'll go full prosperity and to build the greatest economy the world has ever seen just as we had a short time ago. we had it in my term. we had the greatest economy that the world had seen. we were blowing away everybody. our country was doubling up on china, doubling up on everybody and everybody knows it. and then we had to slow it down with covid unfortunately at the end. even then i gave it back with a substantial increase of the stock market, bigger than it was pre-covid. pretty amazing. already preparations are underway to slash massive numbers of job-killing
8:25 am
regulations, eliminating ten old regulations for every new one. you put a new regulation on, you have to get rid of ten and we'll be able to do it. that was about the percentage we had. we cut more regulations than any president has ever cut by far, actually. by approximately five times. some of those regulations, unfortunately, were put back on. we'll catch up very quickly. we'll catch up with it. one of the things i would like to ask the biden administration, as you probably heard, there are two events that took place. we are talking about a friendly takeover, a friendly transition as they like to say. this is a friendly transition. it is. but there are two events that took place that i think are very terrible. one is that if people don't come back into the office they will be dismissed. and somebody in the biden administration gave a five-year waiver of that so that for five years people don't have to come
8:26 am
bah back into the office. involved 49,000 people. for five years they don't have to go. they just signed this thing. it is ridiculous. it was like a gift to a union. and we are going to be in court to stop it. the other thing is really terrible, we spent a tremendous amount of money on building the wall. the wall was designed specifically by the border patrol because it is hard to climb. they need to have see-through. they needed it to be steel. it is very powerful steel and very hard steel. special type of steel. but very, very hard to cut. inside the steel, as you know, we pour concrete and that's a great ten concrete, a very strong concrete, as though you were building about a 60 story building. very powerful concrete. they've made tremendous technology advances in the word concrete. who would think that? i know that from the construction industry. today what you can do with concrete is incredible.
8:27 am
we have a very strong concrete and then we have a rebar. we put rebar inside the concrete and the rebar likewise is very hard to cut. a very expensive process, very expensive wall. then we put an anti-climb plate on the top. i didn't like the look of it but we had people testing. we had mountain climbers testing and not over to get over the anti-climb plates. we'll put the plate on top. i never loved the look of it but it works so unbelievably well, you have to do it. so we spent a lot of money on building it and we have hundreds of miles. 571 miles of wall and why we had such good records in addition to the fact that mexico helped us with their military. they kept people out and they were actually very good under the past leader. but now we had -- we ordered an
8:28 am
additional 200 miles of wall. very expensive and now it's double the price of what it would have been six years ago. and the administration is trying to sell it for $0.05 on the dollar nothing we're getting ready to put it up and what they are doing is really -- it is almost a criminal act. they know we are going to use it and if we don't have it we'll have to rebuild it and it will cost double what it cost years ago and that's hundreds of millions of dollars. you are talking about a lot of wall. i built much more than i said i was going to build but then after it was built i said you know, we can do some more because it sort of like water, people flow through. and that will pretty much really take care of it. what happened is they just -- as you see they are trying to sell it for $0.05 on the dollar. that has nothing to do with a smooth transition.
8:29 am
that has to do with people really trying to stop our nation. all it means really is that we will spend hundreds of millions of dollars more, not even talking about the time. time would be pretty long. but we'll spend hundreds of millions of dollars more on building the same wall that we already have. and people have already come back to us that have deals at $0.05 and $0.04 and one guy at $0.03 on the dollar and they offered to sell it back to us at more money than it cost us to build substantially. can you believe it? so they make a deal with the united states to buy it for pennies and then they call us and they say do you want to buy it back? we'll sell it back to you for hundred of dollars a foot. hundreds of dollars from pennies to hundreds of dollars a foot. we can't let this take place. we are going to go. i spoke with the attorney general of texas and the
8:30 am
senators of texas and spoke to a lot of people and hopefully they will be able to stop it. we are having a restraining order. just think about how ridiculous it is. this is just people that don't want this country to succeed. this has nothing to do with democrat or republican. this has to do with common sense. we won on common sense and this is maybe one of the most egregious examples i've seen. so the people that are buying it are trying to buy it or trying to make a deal with us to sell it back at hundreds of times more, hundreds of times more than we paid. and this is all because -- i'm asking today joe biden to please stop selling the wall. we'll use that to create a strong barrier and it worked. that's why our numbers were so good. it really worked and it worked well and is very expensive to do. i'm asking joe biden to stop his
8:31 am
people from giving it away. it is something that people can't even believe is happening. hopefully joe will be able to stop it. we'll soon unleash american energy and this will be done at levels not seen before issuing quick approvals fore pipelines, drilling and other infrastructure. clean energy and we'll bring in the price of electricity and bring it down fast. we're also going to create clean coal. clean coal is something that has really taken over. we have coal that will last for over 1,000 years. we have so much coal and with a process it becomes clean coal. very powerful energy, unlike wind. it is very, very powerful and we'll be doing a lot of clean coal for the people of west virginia and others, wyoming. so many states. we have great states. and they will be happy to hear it. we'll be very much into clean coal. i don't ever use the word coal,
8:32 am
i use the word clean coal and i will keep my promise to pass historic tax cuts for american families, workers and businesses that create jobs in america. as you know we're giving tax cuts if they do it here. we brought it down from 44%, 42%, in some cases, it was 39. we brought it all the way down to 21%. and now we're bringing it down to 15 but only if they make their product, car or whatever they are doing in the united states, in the u.s. people are thrilled. the smartest people on wall street called me and said where did you get that idea? it doesn't seem that complicated. like the paperclip. nobody ever thought of it. everybody looked into it when one guy thought of it and it was wow, why didn't i think of it? we're bringing it down six more points and put us at the best level we've ever had for bringing in business. we've never been down to that
8:33 am
level. we'll be among the lowest taxed states. a lot of businesses will come in. between that and our taxing and tariff policies. we'll have business like nobody before and why we're having a 41-year record in optimism from small businesses and big businesses. i will keep my promise to pass historic tax cuts for families. workers and businesses that create jobs in america, any business that invests $1 billion or more in the united states will be eligible for fully expedited permits and approvals, including environmental approvals from the federal government. so when companies come in if knee are going to invest a billion or more, many of them, and they will go into detroit and into a lot of places where we want them, you saw how well i did with the auto workers, we did unbelievable. and with the teamsters and also the non-union. record 98%, 97%.
8:34 am
nobody has ever got numbers like that. we are bringing business back and they're all coming back. we lost them over years of stupidity, i call it. i call it the years of stupidity. the decades of stupidity through the department of government efficiency, elon musk has been working very hard with various people, including vivek, we are going to eliminate hundreds of billion else of dollars of waste and fraud. i can only tell you. an early report they are finding things you wouldn't believe. we're looking to save maybe $2 trillion. it will make life better but have no impact on people. it is not like -- we'll never cut social security or things like that. it is just waste, fraud and abuse. and we'll immediately restore the sovereign borders of the united states and stop illegal immigration, which is costing us i believe trillions of dollars a year. i think it's a cost that nobody has every seen anything like it.
8:35 am
i don't know -- how can you be satisfied releasing prisoners into the united states? think of this. you are releasing prisoners from jails all over the world. not just in south america, from the congo, i would talk about it all the time. a very big sender of people. from all over the world they are sending prisoners out of their jails. some of their jails are empty and they will be empty soon if this ever continued. i spoke with the president of mexico and as you know i spoke with justin trudeau of canada and we told them it's not fair, not right. can't let these people come into our country. they understand. they are very much on notice. and they will have to stop this from happening. they are going to have to stop it. we lose a lot of money to mexico and to canada, tremendous amount. we're subsidizing canada and mexico. that can't go on. i get along with the people of mexico and canada very well but we can't let that happen.
8:36 am
why are we supporting and giving other countries hundreds of billions of dollars? it is not fair or right. the people of mexico and canada fully understand that. we've talked about it before but now we're doing something about it. we started and then we had to fix the covid situation and that's what we did. but now we're doing it. we're doing it from the beginning. howard will be largely in charge. working on it together. howard is terrific and done a fan as the particular job. all these policies will help us rapidly defeat inflation, create millions of new jobs and put money in the pockets of the hard working families of our country. pay off debt. we'll pay off a tremendous amount of debt. $36 trillion. you don't want to be there. we'll be using a lot of the money we make, we'll be opening up a lot of businesses pouring
8:37 am
in because of our tax policy. and we will use the money that we make to pay off debt. and to reduce taxes. we'll further reduce taxes. if you remember when we reduced them last time that brought a tremendous amount. we brought it down to 21%. that was a biggest tax cut in the history of our country and nobody ever thought this would happen but this is what is supposed to happen. we ended up taking in more revenue at 21 than 40% which was amazing. this will be the most exciting and successful period of reform appeared renewal in all of american history. maybe of global history. the golden age of america has begun. that's what it will be. we hope we don't have any intervening problems. things happen out of nowhere came the china virus, out of nowhere came other things. we don't want to have -- when i left we had no wars, no problems.
8:38 am
the middle east was good. we did the abraham accords and did things nobody thought was possible. think of it. four years ago we had no wars. you didn't have russia going into ukraine. they wouldn't have done it. they weren't even thinking about it. when they saw what happened in afghanistan, i think that give them an idea. they would have never done it. president putin would never have gone in and you look at all those people dead and cities destroyed. it is nice to say they want their land back but the cities are largely destroyed. they have left kiev because probably maybe they want to use it or occupy it but they haven't done it. they've done a lot of damage but relatively compared to the other cities very little. but many of those cities are gone. the beautiful towers and beautiful buildings that they had are now laying on their sides destroyed, totally
8:39 am
destroyed. the turrets and all the magnificent 2,000 year old structures that were very strong are in -- blown to smithereens. you look at some of those cities and not one building standing. so, you know, when you say take over the country, take over take over what? that's a 100 year rebuild. 100 years to rebuild it and never have it the way it was. what a shame. it would have never happened. if i were president that war would have never happened. nor would israel have happened with the attack on israel. so we're inheriting big challenges at home and all over the world. again, we had no wars. we had no problems. we had no inflation. we had no inflation. we had it less than 1%. perfect number. and then we had inflation the likes of which i say i don't believe the country has every seen inflation like that. they say 38 years. i have think it's probably ever.
8:40 am
but we'll take care of all of it and get the prices down by energy. the energy is going to come in. we have more energy than anybody else and we'll use it. we don't have to buy energy from venezuela when we have 50 times more than they do. it is just insane what we're doing. we will not rest until america is richer, safer, and stronger than it has ever been before. and we have a big head start. last time we didn't. last time we didn't know the people. we didn't know a lot of things. by the time we got it up and going it was incredible. we built the greatest economy in history for that period of time and we'll do it again. i believe substantially more so because we understand number one the people of washington. i know them. i didn't know any of them virtually. i relied on other people for recommendations. some were very good recommendations. we had great people. bob light hiers was great but we had some people i wouldn't have

used in retrospect. i know them better than they know themselves. so once again i would like to thank masa for what he has done with that investment which will end up being $2 hundred billion i believe. i just want to thank him. just an outstanding man. when you have that kind of brain power wanting to invest in this country. that's money that he can't invest elsewhere. it makes me feel very good and we're on the right track. thank you to masa and we'll take a couple of questions. jeff. [inaudible question] >> yeah. i'm not going to comment on the putin question but i will comment on bibi. we had a very good talk. we discussed what is going to happen. i will be very available on
8:42 am
january 20th and we'll see. as you know, i gave warning that if these hostages aren't back home by that date all hell is going to break out. and very strong. but we generally just discussed -- i asked him where are things? mike waltz, they are doing a great job. everybody is happy. i have think he is doing a fantastic job. he was very much involved in the call. it was a recap call more than anything else. >> [inaudible question] how do you plan to stop the ban on tiktok next month? >> we'll take a look at tiktok. i have a warm spot in my heart for tiktok. i won youth by 34 points. there are those that say that tiktok had something to do with that. now, joe rogan did and some other people that were recommended by my son, barron. tell me, who is that? dad, i can't believe you don't
8:43 am
know. you have to be kidding. i did those interviews and it was sort of cute if you want to know the truth. we did them and it had an impact. tiktok had an impact. we're taking a look at it. we won youth. republicans are 30 points down in youth. i don't know why. but we ended up finishing. there was one poll that showed us down about 30. we were 35 or 36 points up with young people so i have a little bit of a warm spot in my heart, i'll be honest. >> are you entertaining the idea of preemptive strikes against iran's nuclear facility? >> i can't tell you that. it is a wonderful question. am i going to do preemptive strikes? why would i say that? can you imagine if i said yes or no? you would say that was strange that he answered that question. am i going to do preemptive strikes on iran? is that a serious question? how could i answer a question like that.
8:44 am
>> would you be in support of israeli strikes. >> how can i tell you a thing like that now? you don't talk about that before something may or may not happen. i don't want to insult you. it is not something i would ever answer having to do with their or any other place in the world. >> do you believe there is a connection between vaccines and autism? >> well, i don't -- right now you have some very brilliant people looking at it. i had dinner the other night with the head of pfizer andy lie lily and rfk and oz and other people within the administration that are involved medical. and we are looking to find out. if you look at autism. 30 years ago we had i've heard
8:45 am
numbers of like one in 200,000, one in 100,000. now i'm hearing numbers of one in 100. so something is wrong. there is something wrong. and we are going to find out about it. >> can i get your -- can i follow up on robert kennedy. on the hill meeting with senators. what do you say to people worried his views on vaccines will translate into policies that will make their kids left safe? >> i think he will be much less radical. i think he has an open mind. very much less radical. but there are problems. we don't do as well as a lot of other nations and those nations use nothing. we'll find out what those problems are. another thing that came up. the dinner was fascinating. we had bobby and i had again the head of pfizer, you know who that is. he is a highly respected man, run an incredible company.
8:46 am
likewise with lily, the top two people. we had the head of the industrials. all companies were represented and i said let's have it out now a little bit and you know what came out of that meeting is we're paying far too much. we're paying much more than other countries. and we have laws that make it impossible to reduce and we have a thing called the middleman. the middleman, right? the horrible middleman that makes more money than the drug companies and they don't do anything except the middleman. we'll not out the middleman. i will be very unpopular after that statement. i don't know who these middle men are but they're rich as hell. we are going to knock out the middlemen and get drug costs down at levels that nobody has ever seen before. that really i tell you we spent more time talking about that with bobby and with the executives and oz, all of them. we spent more time talking about
8:47 am
that than anything else. >> what about the pollio vaccine? >> i'm a big believer in it. i think everything should be looked at but i'm a big believer in the polio vaccine. >> do you think schools should mandate vaccines? >> i don't like mandates. i'm not a big mandate person. i was against mandates mostly democrat governors did the mandates. they did a very poor thing. retrospect they made a big mistake having to do with the education of children. they lost a year or two years of their lives. the mandate was a bad thing. i was against a mandate. >> do you expect ron desantis to appoint lara trump? >> no, i don't. i probably don't. i don't know. ron is doing a good job. it is his choice, nothing to do with me. lara is unbelievable. she was incredible.
8:48 am
the job she did at the rnc as chairman along with michael whatley. the combination. i can speak for lara. she is so highly respected by women. i mean, even her work-out routines are through the roof. she lifts 150 pounds. i don't know how the hell she does it. she is a bad example for men and women because i wouldn't be able to beat her, i don't believe. i would try like hell. she is an incredible woman and it's funny, people oftentimes talk about nepotism. i never had -- when i put her there people said how did you get her to do it? she could have run for the senate in north carolina, ted budd would be the first to say and he wouldn't have run. nobody would have run. she just said no, i want to really focus on my children. when the election and my family, she has a great family. when the election start evidence getting closer i asked her would
8:49 am
she go to washington and work on the as chairman of the committee along with michael whatley and they did such an unbelievable job. especially on cheating. they stopped it. or at least they stymied it. too big to rig. we won in a landslide. we won tremendously. she did an amazing job. now ron will have to -- marco has been really a star already. we haven't started but we see signs from some people very early we see signs of start. marco has done incredibly. he is sort of born for it. it was such an easy decision. the marco decision was such an easy one. he leaves a vacancy in florida and ron will have to make that decision. he will make the right decision. i also know that lara has so many other things. she has so many other things. people want her to be on television and give her
8:50 am
contracts. you know, her predominant thought is our country and her family. those are her thoughts. but she has so many other things that she is talking about. he will make the right decision. >> mr. president. >> should senators who oppose your nominees be pry married? >> if they were unreasonable. an answer you will be shocked to hear. if they are unreasonable. if they are opposing somebody for political reasons or stupid reasons, i would say has nothing to do with me, i would say they probably would be have primaries. if they're reasonable, fair and really disagree with somebody i could see it happening. but i do believe that if they are -- i think we have great people. i think we have a great group of people, pam has been unbelievably received. pam bondi, so many have been just unbelievably received.
8:51 am
i think pete hegseth is making tremendous strides over the last week. he will be good. he went to princeton and harvard, a great student there. he really was from -- the first day i met him all he wanted to talk about was military. just a military guy. it's a natural. this was my idea. you know, pete hegseth gave up a lot. he was going big places in fox, big places. a lot of money. he didn't even hesitate when i said do you want to do this? he said absolutely. i said you know if it doesn't work out, you will never have the opportunity that you have right now in terms of the world of entertainment or business, whatever you want to call it. you will never have that opportunity again. it could be just the opposite. because it is nasty out there. he said i don't care, i have to do it for my country. he gave up a tremendous amount. if this didn't work it would be a tragedy because -- that's what he loves. he loves the military. i never talk to him about
8:52 am
anything else. he would talk about the military. he would come to see me about a soldier unfairly treated and could i help. that's the only thing i virtually ever talked to him about and i always remembered it. i've seen him many times. i don't think i've ever had a subject on anything other than military with him. that's where his love is. and he didn't say well, i would like to think about it or like to talk to my family. he said not even a contest. you know, he was going through the roof over there. doing great. they have the number one show that saturday and sunday with will and rachel, that's great chemistry. and if this didn't work out for him it would be sort of tragic. >> [inaudible question] >> i would. i think he was treated unfairly. it seems, you know, like being upgraded in an airplane many years ago, i know probably
8:53 am
everybody here has been upgraded. they see you are all-stars. i want to upgrade that person from nbc and upgrade him. that means you spend the rest of your life in prison. i don't know. i would have to see it. i don't know the facts. i think he was treated --ist is very interesting when he have essentially went against what was happening with the migrants coming in. he made some pretty strong statements like this is not sustainable. i said you know what? he will be indicted soon. and i said it not as a prediction, a little light heartedly but i said it. i said he will be indicted. a few months later he got indicted. so i would certainly look at it. >> mr. president, ask you a question about the drones. >> [inaudible question] . >> are you planning on -- or will you -- >> we had 5,000 troops along the border and i asked a couple of
8:54 am
generals. we have an army of 250,000 in syria and you had an army of 400,000. they have many more people. turkey is a major force, by the way. erdogan is somebody i got along with great but he has a major military force. his has not been worn out with war. it hasn't been worn out with all the other things. he has built a very strong, powerful army. so we have 5,000 soldiers in between 5 million person army and a 250,000 person army. i asked the general, what do you think of that situation? he said they will be just wiped out immediately. i moved them out because -- i took a lot of heat. you know what happened? nothing. nothing. i saved a lot of lives. now we have 900. they put some back. but 900. if you are talking about. one of the sides has been essentially wiped out but nobody knows who the other side is. but i do. you know who it is?
8:55 am
turkey, okay? turkey is the one behind it. he is a very smart guy. they wanted it for thousands of years. and he got it. and those people that went in are controlled by turkey. that's okay. it's another way to fight. but no, i don't think that i want to have our soldiers killed but i don't think that will happen now anyway because the one side has been decimated. >> mr. president, what do you think of the drones? >> are you concerned about that region or do you -- >> nobody knows what the final outcome will be in the region. nobody knows who really the final. i believe it's turkey and i think turkey is very smart. he is a very smart guy and very tough. but turkey did an unfriendly takeover without a lot of lives being lost. i can say that assad was a butcher. what he did to children. you remember i attacked him with
8:56 am
the 58 missiles. unbelievable missiles coming from ships, 700 miles away. every one of them hit their target. i did that. that was the red line in the sand. obama drew it and refused to honor what he did. he said if anybody goals across the red line and assad killed many more children after that and obama did nothing. but i did. i hit him with a lot of missiles. president xi was sitting here the night he was -- he was in that dining room having chocolate cake. the famous chocolate cake. that's when i explained what we were doing as the missiles were shot. it was amazing as to precision. every one of those missiles hit its target from a long distance away. had president obama drawn the line and where it wouldn't have meant something you never had russia there.
8:57 am
i never understood why they went there. now their time is taken up with ukraine and like them to stop them and ukraine stop also. when i went to the cathedral. the job they've done in france, the job that macron did. he did a great job on the rebuilding of that cathedral. they have great respect for our country. i'm -- i'm the representative of our country and we were treated with great respect. one of the people that came to pay his respects is, as you know, ukraine, zelenskyy. and he would like have peace. he wants peace. everyone is being killed. it is the worst carnage that this world has seen since world war ii. i have pictures of fields where bodies are lying on top of bodies.
8:58 am
looks like the old pictures of the civil war where just bodies are all over. just if you saw those pictures you would feel more strongly about it. it has to stop. we're trying to get it to stop. we're going to see. we are going to be talking to president putin and we'll be talking to the representatives zelenskyy had representatives from ukraine. we have to stop it. it's carnage. >> thank you. good to see >> can you comment on the drones flying around new jersey? >> the government knows what is happening. look, our military knows where they took off from. if it's a garage, they can go right into that garage. they know where it came from and where it went. for some reason, they don't want to comment. i think they would be better off
8:59 am
saying what it is. our military nose and our president knows. for some reason, they want to keep people in suspense. i can't imagine it's the enemy because it was the enemy that blasted out even if they relate, they would blasted. something strange is going on. for some reason they don't want to tell the people and they should because the people are really -- they happen to be over bedminster. they are very close to bedminster. i think maybe i won't spend the weekend and bedminster. i've decided to cancel my trip. >> reporter: if you received an intelligence briefing on the drones? >> i don't want to comment. >> reporter: two quick questions. on vaccines, do you want rfk jr. to revoke any vaccines? >> no, i want him to come back with a report as to what he thinks. we're going to find out a lot. we are going to have tremendous cost savings out of this and we are also going to have and i think very serious discussions
9:00 am
about certain things whether it's pesticides. you know, your rep doesn't use. and yet they have a better mortality rate than we do. they don't use pesticides. they use it as an excuse not to take our farm products. we spend billions and billions of dollars on pesticides. something bad is happening. again, you take a look at autism today versus 20, 25 years ago, it's like not even believable. we are going to have reports. nothing's going to happen very quickly. i think you're going to find that bobby is a very rational guy. i found them to be very rat rational. you're not going to lose the polio vaccine. it's not going to happen. i saw what happened with the polio. i have friends that were very much affected by that. i have friends from many years ago. they have obviously -- they still are not in such good shape. many people died. thme
