and this is america's late-night news, fox news at night. and breaking tonight fox news confirming the school shooter in madison, wisconsin, was a 15-year-old female student, named natalie. who went by samantha, police now saying she opened fire in a study hall killing a teacher. and a student, wounding six others. before turning the gun on herself. police now investigating the suspects home, and a manifesto type document that is circulating online. breaking information and moments, plus president trump holding its first postelection news conference reminding us what it is like, to have a commander in chief that actually talks to the media, and a business sector that actually sees a bright future for america.

>> trace: trump also addressing a subject to biden administration seems unwilling to address, the mysterious drone sliding from coast-to-coast. this as a new theory emerges, has some a generally concerned. >> i believe that they are out there trying to smell something that is very important. >> trace: drone expert john joining us live to explain that and moments but we begin with the breaking news on the shooting of the christian school in madison, wisconsin. lives with a lot of new
8:03 pm
information on the shooter, and what may prompted the shooting, good evening. >> good evening we are learning that the private school did not have a school resource officer on campus but, responding madison police officers were in the building within just 4 minutes. of getting that first phone call. at least two people were killed, two others injury, two more stable and two more released from the hospital as a result of the shooting, with the suspected shooter found at the scene, late tonight, police announced they have found the shooter to be a 15-year-old girl, named natalie. apparently she went by the name samantha, they say it looked like she shot herself at the school, and passed away on the way to the hospital. police say they are not going to comment on her supposed manifesto that started popping up online, right now they are working to figure out, why she decided to kill.
8:04 pm
in the shooting, as you can imagine has left parents rattle. >> you don't think you're going to go through this, i bring my daughter to school knowing that this happens in the world, that people are struggling and i pray. i pray for my daughter's safety. >> police say the shooting happened inside of the classroom in a study hall made up of mixed grade students, locals wanted to hold a vigil there tonight but police asked them not to. as the area is still an active crime scene, the question is how did the 15-year-old get our hands on a gun? >> trace: it's a good question we will get back to you, thank you let's bring in former fbi special agent and fox news contributor, nicole, it's great to have you on on the show. i want to play some sound because this is the chief of
8:05 pm
police talking about this manifesto type document. watch. nor have we verified this nicole but it is out there, it's being looked at, investigating it what do you make of a possible -- another possible manifesto? >> first of all, my heart goes out to the students of the school, right before christmas this is absolutely devastating. once again that we are having a similar conversation that we seem to be having all too frequent, you know this manifesto, like we have talked about the manifestoes in the past, they will be looking at this manifesto first of all determining the authenticity of the manifesto and doing a full statement analysis on it,. there is a lot of information that law enforcement can get from this type of document, if
8:06 pm
it's a true manifesto but i think it's important to note, this shooting seemed to be confined to a certain area in the study hall there was a teacher that was killed and another student. the victim's election going to be looked at. in great detail in this investigation. also i think is important to note the father, is being fully cooperative and gave consent to search to the law enforcement officers, they didn't actually have to go out and swear a warrant they got consent to search the home. i guarantee you, there was probably some form of leakage where she gave an indication of the issues or problems that she was having to the world whether it's through her online a digital footprint, or social media, that happens quite frequently in the school shootings there is leakage and they give a clue that this is going to happen before does. >> trace: i've got to believe you when you talk about the parents cooperating here, may be access to computers and social media, that is going to be a big benefit to this case. >> oh absolutely, imagine your child, is dead but your child committed suicide and killed two
8:07 pm
other people and injured others. the fact that they are cooperating that is very important because there is typically, no one who knows their child better than their parent and the fact they are willing to openly give information, turnover the evidence, that is going to make law enforcement job a lot more easier, i hope. again, it is heartbreaking for their family as well because, if they saw indications of this, can you imagine the guilt that you would feel as a parent knowing you saw the signs of this and you did not do anything to stop it! at the end of the day, tragedy for this community, i pray for them. we cannot continue to have the school shootings have been, it's happening all too frequently and it is unquestionable and evil and dark. >> trace: and we learned today, i've only got a few seconds left, have learned that it was a second grader who called 911. in some capacity you are like, listen, that is thinking quickly on your feet but for a 7-year-old? what is going on? >> again, a second grader!
8:08 pm
a second grader, should not be dealing with this type of thing, they should be able to go go to school and feel safe and again these schools, many of them are very soft targets. they have to hard in these schools into everything they can to take protective measures, these are the most vulnerable members of our society they have no way to protect themselves, eat to get better security systems. we just cannot continue to have this happening, i have no words because i've covered so many of these i worked the parkland school shooting and they are all equally as disturbing. >> trace: nicole, great to have you on the show, good analysis thank you. donald trump gathered in mar largo to announce a major investment deal with japanese bank but when reporters began asking questions the event turned into the president-elect first postelection news conference. live for us in west palm beach tonight, good evening. >> good evening, what a contrast from the past four years, today
8:09 pm
we saw a commander and chief unafraid to tackle a wide range of issues. in an hour-long anything goes press conference, on a drones. he believes abide administration is withholding info but also offering his thoughts on the source of them. trump also addressing the war in ukraine, the hostages in gaza,'s cabinet picks, and the billionaires lining up to come to meet with him out mar largo to include amazon's jeff bezos later this week. when it came to border security, those mass deportations with countries like venezuela that won't take their citizens back.
8:10 pm
but there was no harsh words about tiktok, who's facing a potential band of the supreme court does not block the law forcing them to divest, saying he has a warmer spot for them crediting the application and young voters for his election victory, and we learned tonight, from a source familiar that ceo of tiktok, met with trump today at mar largo. >> trace: life from us and -- life for us in west palm, thank you. -- life for us in west palm, thank you. riveted by the surprise news conference donald trump gave today at mar largo and it was not just the content that common sense from riveting, the riveting part is that he stood in front of the media for one hour and 10 minutes, and answered every single question on every single subject from tariffs, to tiktok, eric adams world leaders, cabinet nominees, there's nothing off limits
8:11 pm
including the outer limits. you know, a drones. a topic that jill biden and his administration simply refused to explain. trump said the military knows where the drones took off from that he said quote, for some reason they don't want to comment. the truth is, it's unclear if trump is right about the military knowing where the drones came from, but it is crystal clear that this administration does not want to talk. about anything. we still don't know anything about that chinese five balloon that traverse the country for one week, we still don't know anything about trump's assassins, we don't know anything about anything because they won't tell us anything. for four years, we have been on a need-to-know basis, they don't think we need to know. common sense thinks it was awfully nice to hear from our president, even if he is not yet , our president!
8:12 pm
let's bring in the dn of pepperdine university school of public policy pete, and independent women's legal director, thank you both for coming on. pete, you first, trump today was a saying, he thinks everybody now wants to be his friend, it was a rough go around first here is what he about that, watch. -- what he said about that, watch. it feels different, it's a whole new feel. this press conference, the media, the way they address them, everything is different. >> it really is look at the numbers, it was mentioned before, we went from the president you at the fewest number of press conferences and he came from trump who had three times as many as biden to. now he is not even president but already getting out in front of the media answer questions. for all of those, particularly on the left that have said this
8:13 pm
is about democracy, one of the things that people are showing to recognize is that access to your president is part of good democratic principles. i'm even seeing reporters on the left say, it took 50 people to get through -- not just biden! but also harris, very difficult to access but trump is very accessible. >> trace: yet, president biden thinks has dominated the turf over the past four years. he had this to say today and i will get your response. >> president joe biden: have we left the country better in shape than we found it? today, i can say without -- with all my heart, the answer is yes. >> trace: i think he so badly wants to believe that, that he does! >> they already know that trump is going to be great for the economy and are just trying to
8:14 pm
say, actually that was us. a huge vote of confidence from president biden to trump, here you saw the ceo of softbank invested $100 billion in the united states and promise 100,000 jobs, why? he said specifically two things, one he was so confident in the u.s. economy, he felt like it was going to take off, two, he felt trump was going to usher in world peace. i mean, talk about what can be a bigger goal? these are the things that america and the world's business leaders are thinking about, donald trump. biden, come on in you can support the cost to. >> trace: here is trump on rfk jr., watch. >> i think he is a very open mind or i would not have put him there, he is going to be less radical but there are problems. we don't do as well as a lot of other nations and those nations use nothing. we are going to find out what those problems are.
8:15 pm
>> trace: rfk's on capitol hill this weekend trying to get support, trump -- trump supports him. >> absolutely right, you saw in that exchange the kind of people trump likes to surround himself with our people that are asking a lot of questions. all the reports of what it is like to be in cabinet meetings with him, is that trump local person to person to person asking questions. the thing that somebody like rfk jr. michael and with an overly ideological approach, i really don't think that is the kind of person trump is putting in that position. >> trace: i think that's fair, the week ceo bend the knee trump goes on to say companies abandon them after the january sixth 2021 right now they are washing to carry favour with the president-elect as he prepares to return to the lighthouse and we should note with the checkbook open, and the pens ready to go,. >> yes, at the end of the day, the american people have spoken
8:16 pm
and the american people are excited for an economy for all americans. this is something that businesses should be excited about the worker should be excited about, world people, urban people, i think that business is no for an economy that works for everybody will also work for them. this is why you saw jeff bezos at "the washington post" say that he was not going to endorse anybody, the "los angeles times" did not endorse anybody, mark zuckerberg said, facebook apologize for what they did during the 2020 election so, i think business is our right to be excited, but not just businesses. >> trace: there is a little bit of bandwagon jumping going on as well, thank you both. meantime more drone sightings in the sky over the u.s. but still no answers as calls continue for the biden administration to do something about these mysterious flying objects. the senior national correspondent kevin live in d.c. with the details on this, having that evening. >> good evening they are either
8:17 pm
incompetent or lying to the american people. that is the view of critics tonight who are demanding answers from the biden administration about this, let's put it out there, it's flaccid response to the numerous drone sightings in new jersey and elsewhere around the country. despite changing explanation from our government, about the nature, the potential origin of the swarm, the white house tonight insists that there is nothing to worry about. >> this is lawful, legal, commercial, hobbyist, and even law enforcement aircraft activity, some of it unmanned. >> some lawmakers in newark are
8:18 pm
not buying that. >> enhancing coming up with the cohesive answer a singular plan, how to address it. >> meantime as noted earlier the president-elect today said this about the drone controversy, something strange is going on adding that in his opinion, the military and president biden know more about they are letting on. hard to argue with that. >> trace: in d, kevin live for us in d.c., kevin thank you let's bring in aerospace owner and ceo, thank you for being on the show. what do you think these drones are doing out there? >> if you had seen some of the videos that have been widely published over the past couple of days about -- i have stated there is no good reason for commercial drone to be flying at night unless you have a very specific reason to fly. cameras don't see that well and
8:19 pm
nice so, there is some type of special sensor that is trying to detect something. these drones have a mission, they are on a mission, i absolutely with every of may being believe that the government knows exactly what they are doing. frankly, the government is saying its none of your business. >> trace: when you say something, what is that something you're pointing to? >> again, without getting into a really long rotation about this video that i had done, i have been asked to try and help raise awareness on some nuclear material that have been left over from the fall of the soviet union in the 80s. you know, i have spoken to a gentleman he was trying to reach out to the government to say, hey,, i was physically in the room with this warhead and i know it is going to the united states. i need your help, please help us find this.
8:20 pm
this gentleman is going to -- actually, since all of this has started, there has been an update that the proper authorities have information on this, it's the real deal, it's not conspiracy, it's actually a series fact so you have to be really careful about the drones flying over your head, it's ominous but they are flying with navigation lights, that is legal. they should not be flying at night unless they are actually looking for something very specific and that is my theory. >> trace: what would you say because john kirby has been saying, nothing to see here, one more sound bite if i might, and then i will get your last response. >> our assessment is that this is lawful, legal, commercial, hobbyist, and even law enforcement aircraft activity. some of it is unmanned. we acknowledge that a lot of these are probably drones but they are flying legally.
8:21 pm
>> trace: flying legally put them up on the screen because these are the 11 states where the sightings have been seen, what would you say to john kirby and when you look at these, and you think people in 11 states are seeing things? >> well, i don't think he's being transparent with the american people, we can all see that and smell it. every single aircraft that goes up, that is a commercial aircraft, has to go up with authorization from the fsa, end of story. the fsa has these flight plans, and even the military for flying unmanned aircraft have to communicate with the f -- the fsa so this administration does not want to tell you what they are doing, maybe because they don't want to cause a mass panic or hysteria. may be what they looking forward because even larger hysteria, i don't know. i don't want to speculate and be
