anyway, clemency for this lady rita crunwell, she respondent 8.5 years in prison and released for home confinement. she is from dixon, illinois. the town is set with joe biden giving her clemency, she stole 53.7 million from taxpayers, embezzled it, comptroller and treasurer. she had access to the funds. i don't know how they did not discover it before 53 million was taken. she supported her quarter horse breeding organization, she was discovered and thrown in jail and he's pardoning her, giving her clemency, people are upset.

three years old. just before 11:00 a.m., a 15-year-old girl who was a student opened fire using a handgun and killed a teacher, student and injured six others before turning the gun on herself. two students are in lif life-threatening critical condition. police were inside the school within three minutes after getting the call from a second-grade student. >> a second-grade student, let that sink in. >> the shooter's parents are cooperating with the investigation, detectives searched the 15-year-old's home and are working to figure out where the gun came from and where the girl got it.

c s ♪ >> ainsley: it is day five of our 12 days of giving and today we are highlighting a very special group called team rubicon. the veteran-led organization is still on the ground, still there leading hurricane helene and milton recovery efforts from volunteers around the country helping with disaster relief. the ceo art de la cruz joins us now. >> ainsley: you are an amazing group. these are rough terrain.

you have to clean up all the trees that are down. how are you trained to do this? are you all former military? >> 50% of our volunteer base is military. the way we train and prepare for these disasters and responses is the reality is we have to build a winning team the day before the game. 365 days a year these incredible volunteers are training to do really difficult jobs like tarping roofs, removing debris, mucking out flooded homes. it takes practice. when you practice on game day you can get in the field and have real impact. >> ainsley: what are you seeing on the ground in north carolina especially or florida or some places that were hit? >> it's been 82 days since hurricane helene made landfall and the work is still ongoing. we have had over 18 operations across the southeast. we have four ongoing today and we'll launch more in the days and months to come. there is obviously a lot still going on.
