sean, we start with a fox news alert, president trump leading the way on budget negotiations endorsing a new drastically slimmed down to keep the government open. on capitol hill, that measure was just voted down in the clock is ticking a government funding runs dry at midnight tomorrow, that's about 26 hours from now. this comes as we learn shocking new details about how the biden white house cocooned and protected a diminished commander and chief. reporting comes from this expose in "the wall street journal", the report that quote, there was limits over who biden's spoke with -- biden spoke with, and limits around the sources of information he consumed. the president of the united states limited out of necessity by unelected handlers, let that sink in. senior advisors were off and put
6:02 pm
into that some administration officials and lawmakers thought that biden himself should occupy. who has been running the country over the past four years? that is the question. the president's diminished status was so bad that meetings with democratic lawmakers, powerful secretaries like lloyd austin and treasury secretary quote, were infrequent, in fact,, they cancelled meetings altogether. if biden was out of it. some leaders had a hard time getting the president's ear at key moments including out of the u.s. disaster us pullout from afghanistan. as you will remember, we lost 13 heroic americans at the abbey gauge in the fall of afghanistan and lawmakers could not get a hold of the president. but perhaps the most disturbing detail of all of this, is this, listen closely.
6:03 pm
a sign that the bruising presidential schedule need to be adjusted for biden -- biden's advanced age had risen early on, in the first few months of biden's term. administration officials notice the president became tired, if meetings went long, and would make mistakes. so aids to the president's new in the first few months of his term, the incapacity of the leader of the free world and they did nothing, what a scandal! in fact listen to this, in the spring of 2021, so just after taking office, biden was having an off day so they scrapped a national security meeting. now one national security official involved with that cancelled meeting, noted to a white house aide quote, he has a good days and bad days, and today was a bad day, so we are going to address this tomorrow. let's hope the matter could weight until them. meanwhile president-elect
6:04 pm
trumpets actively engaged, this is one month before inauguration day, trump is negotiating government funding deals, he is prodding allies like canada and mexico and mapping out an ambitious legislative agenda. but first, congress will need to pass a budget deal. here now but the very latest on that, from capitol hill is chad who is with us. >> good evening, you talk about the president-elect legislative agenda in the new year, that kind of took a blow tonight because they can't even from the government. republicans are blaming this on democrats, but when i look at the votes, republicans could not even get a simple majority to get past this bill. 30a republicans voted no, and that demonstrates how tenuous the majority is going to be in the near. when you have the president-elect along with elon musk and others who blew up
6:05 pm
the bigger spending bill yesterday, they come back with a more spell built tonight. now of course republicans are saying, the democrats should have helped but i will point to every single bill that has dealt with fiscal matters this year, and last year as well, this congress, they have had to get democratic votes to move this across the finish line. republicans are in the majority of the house of representatives but it is democrats today leaned on, repeatedly, democrats today say we were not a part of this negotiation, the bill that we negotiated it you guys threw in the dumpster, so we are not going to help. they whipped us only two democrats voted yes. >> one question, on at this, there has been five continuing resolutions you make the point that every single one of them needed democrats, that is a fact. when you look at the republican vote count on it these five
6:06 pm
continuing resolutions the most republicans that have ever voted for any of these is 132 and tonight you had 170 republicans, so there is that lift the president-elect gave it even though it did not cross the finish line is that correct? >> you are right, they definitely showed some positivity in that sense but on capitol hill we don't get style points from the east german judge, you either pass the bill or you don't so you have the president-elect saying this is the bill that i want, and we are going to do all of these things with tax cuts and budget reconciliation next year, and if you can't do this that is a problem. the president-elect's flexed his muscles yesterday, when these 38 republicans flexed their muscles back at them today, of this is demonstrating the deep divide inside the republican conference. there are some republicans you simply are not going to go for additional spending, the republican from texas said just because this bill is a leaner bill, that does not mean it does not spend.
6:07 pm
another person indicated there was not an offset for all of this disaster. that is a problem for many republicans, $110 billion in the disaster aid factor, so until republicans can get everybody onto the field at the same time, which is very challenging, that is why when you go down to one vote i always say its about the math the next year, it's going to be really hard to get all of these things done in may potentially overpromise because the legislator and mathematical reality do not align and they did not align tonight. the government may shut down here, not quite this time tomorrow night, they have until 11:59 tomorrow night, that is the deadline ahead of the weekend before christmas. >> it comes down to math and you don't get style claims as you noted, keep us updated thank you. here with reaction to all of tonight's top stories our senator tom, senator, we will
6:08 pm
get to the breaking news this evening but i want to start with this explosive "wall street journal" report, an issue i feel you will probably have thoughts on and that is afghanistan. i want to pull this up so they are reporting this is about adam smith, he's chairman of the armed services committee over in the house, and this happened. adam sought to talk to biden directly to talk about insights of afghanistan but could not get on the phone with him smith said, after the disaster withdrawal he made a clinical comment to "the washington post" triggering an angry phone call from secretary state anthony shortly after smith got in apologetic call from biden, it was the only phone call biden made toward smith and his four years in office, and smith said this, quote, the biden white house was more inflated the most i spoke with barack obama on a number of occasions when he was president, and i was not even the chairman of the committee. does it outraged you tonight that a democrat, that has
6:09 pm
knowledge of afghanistan could not get a hold of the commander in chief ahead of that disaster? >> it's consistent with what we have heard from the earlier days of the biden administration and frankly, the angry phone call should have been going from democrats like adam smith towards joe biden and those around him for not listening to him and listening to us, when we warn the peril that our troops face in afghanistan. again, there was a vow of silence among democrats for four years, it was just in february this year chuck schumer said joe biden's mental acuity is great, it is not diminished at all. think about that. in february, chuck schumer was lying to the american people saying he has not lost a step in years. they did not state after the debate either when it was clear to everyone, only after the
6:10 pm
election when he could no longer affect the ability to claim power, that you start to get some of the real story the american people can see from the beginning. i have to remind all of our viewers, joe biden is still president tonight. we have another month of joe biden, he may be forgotten but he is not gone. this tied into this debate we see over government funding right now, donald trump is the president-elect. people are still going to him trying to get guidance, trying to put together a compromise bill to fund our government, not to joe biden the actual president, wears joe biden? trying to get his party, which controls the senate for another two weeks to pass legislation to fund our government. you have seen this for four years, joe biden has been an absent president in american people suffering for. >> without a doubt, you brought up the spending bill so i want to pull this out from one of your senate colleagues, this is elizabeth warren noting a chronic of the president, on the
6:11 pm
far left, he is conservative, she tweeted this, i agree with president-elect trump, that congress should terminate the debt limit and never again govern by hostagetaking, what do you make their of that? >> i think one, we should bookmark that. i'm not sure we will hear from another four years that elizabeth warren agrees with trump, what happened tonight assemble, the overwhelming majority of republicans, voted not just upon the government of christmastime, but to deliver badly needed aid to hurricane ravaged communities in the southeast, and those who are struggling. the overwhelming majority of democrats voted to shut down the government and denied that aid, why? because they want to obstruct president trumps validity in the new year to deliver on our campaign promises, the american people want. like securing the border, rebuilding our military, reducing the price you pay for electricity and gas and cutting your taxes. it's just that simple.
6:12 pm
>> i want to -- one final question, it began early on with his presidency you had said that tom cotton demands a dod records on border materials sales be preserved. you won documents preserved as it pertains to these border wall sales and i am wondering should documents be preserved in the white house as we learn more about the president diminished capacity as it relates to afghanistan? >> it probably would not hurt because there is a lot of questions to be answered and i think you will start to see more of those questions answered, "the wall street journal" article at 50 anonymous sources, you had to line up outside at the door and draw a number if he wanted to share your story about joe biden, once he is finally out of office i think we will see more of that, i am more worried about what is happening as they leave office things like the the department selling
6:13 pm
portable materials for pennies on the dollar again, trump doing basic things the american people want links of -- like securing our border. >> it senator, thank you. joining us now south carolina senator tim scott. tim scott i want to start by moving this forward from "the wall street journal" i'm going to "the new york times", we learn a lot when the president loses an election and aid start talking in this what we learned from "the new york times", biden remains plenty sharp in a situation room calling world leaders to broker a cease-fire in lebanon in dealing with the chaos of serious rebellion. but it is hard to imagine that biden seriously thought he could do the world's most stressful job for another four years. there is "the new york times" admitting that, here is biden aid is still telling us what they told us before, he run circles around us. do you think he is running circles around the generals of the situation room? >> he is at running circles, not at all.
6:14 pm
still playing out today. in 2020 his staff knew he was compromised, confused, he was not a command so to talk about where he is today as if it is real, it is embarrassing, in his wrist -- irresponsible and a bold face lie. thank god the american people are never fooled by the swamp, that's why they reelected president donald trump, he is a lucid, clear and already working on behalf of the american people , but contrast between the two men could not be more clear. it is time for that change to come, january 20th cannot get here fast her. >> -- faster. >> senator scott we are about 26 hours from a government
6:15 pm
shutdown, what do you think happens? >> listen, i hope the house continues to move in the direction of president trump, he has laid out clear markers and what he doesn't want its the democrats to hold him hostage with a debt ceiling, that is why it is such an important part of the conversation, what he wants is to make sure that doj is successful, that means the american people get to keep more of their hard-earned dollars. we are going to see president trump take command, cut spending and give things -- and to get done and that requires us to find the deal he supports. he is already acting as if he is the commander in chief because as of today we don't have a commander in chief, we have wrinkly staffers, who want to be the commander in chief lead this white house. it will not be that case when president trump comes in. >> staffers he wants to be the

commander in chief are all intensive purposes create a "wall street journal" report, over the past four years. we have some new fox news reporting today, thank you to you. you will be heading up to and rsc, this is the campaign arm of the senate, if we learn anything it's the importance of a robust house majority and a robust senate majority and we learned it was of the old -- it was revealed, people don't want to think about politics but two years from now, you have a 20 republicans up for reelection, 13 democrats, what you think happens in two years are you ready to try and secure and grow that majority you have in the senate? >> the first thing i do is sit down with president trump and make sure we were on the same page, and susan collins all the way into the red.
6:17 pm
what we have done is create a staff that president trump will be proud of because we will not only hold the majority, i believe we have an opportunity to expand the majority. georgia, new hampshire, michigan, three states where we can win today and if you are watching a governor, we are coming to next because virginia is another place we can add to our total. defend our incumbent and our seats. let's add 23 or four seats, i am an optimist, it's going to take a lot of work but the good news is, we have the right president leading the charge, and this is his republican party, we're going to add days majority, the american people deserve four consecutive years of republican majority and the senate in the house, that leads to a generation of american opportunity. >> you just mentioned four seats do you think it is within the realm of possibility, at 53 set a majority, become 57?
6:18 pm
>> idea, lesson here is what we have to do to get there, simple math for my perspective. we need to wait in north carolina, kentucky, kansas, maine, for critical races we have to defend and we have a chance to add, in georgia, new hampshire, virginia and frankly, new mexico and minnesota. not out the ring, not yet. not with president trump. >> you already know the mouth i love to see it thank you so much. coming up, the trump administration getting ready to put an end to joe biden's dangerous border crisis and you heard it virginia will there later work overtime to implement trump's agenda? ♪ ♪

he's got a mandate for american people we cannot have stronger security without border security, the same time he is going to sign i.c.e. officers... at the same time any catch release day one also looking for over 340,000 missing children, we have a lot happening day one, it up and stay one but it will continue until we finish the drop. >> more than five executive orders, that is huge, is that sending a clear party of immigration across the starting line of this administration? i was also intrigued by the cnn report i read i don't know it's true or not but i think people think the trump administration is so radical with what they want to do, this cnn headline read to this, some part of trump's deportation plan may be obama like, this is a quote,
6:28 pm
what tom is talking about our obama related things, you worked in the obama administration you now were for president trump, do you think some of this will be coming from the obama playbook? >> i forgot more about this game , but obama did concentrate on public safety threats. the results were terrible. look at this administration, look at the data, 74% decrease, i noticed today these numbers are breaking. i put that report together, the bottom line is we are 80% of those, people rest on the border, by the border, interior

rates were down 80% so they are playing a numbers game but trump's numbers are going to blow all of these numbers out of the water because we let isa do their job. >> the numbers game is interesting when we have a fact that young women, mothers of five like rachel moore has been killed when they go out for jobs by people he shouldn't have you and then here. that tells us all you need to know but as we look at this, not only do you have these tragic stories, you have an election were 77 million people voted for trump, trump always said he believed immigration was the reason he would win. i think there are -- is a lot of truth on that. democrats who say they're willing to play ball with the guys, here is mark kelly, a democrat, if there is willingness to work in a bipartisan way, not only on border security but also immigration, it would be great.

do because you give the people of the money that they work hard for, they know they are going to buy another refrigerator, another car, whatever it is, that whole ecosystem eventually produces taxes, which comes back to the government so we can put it back in their hands. it's as simple as that. apparently that is controversial. we are going to put 1 billion and let the democrats vote for common sense. >> we will see, you guys will become the first date to packs and no tax on tips, that would be an accomplishment. you received the endorsement of governor glenn, that is a huge deal. you in this primary let's say, you move on to run against whoever the democrat is, we are thinking next november this is a huge election all eyes on virginia, abigail bamberger is looking to be the democrat nominee for governor, do you think that republicans can hold onto the governor's mansion in the state of virginia?
