>> todd: let's start with the he will fast in the room. there are plenty of ways to enjoy your tree in the home. elephants eating them. video taken by zoo staff showing three of the zoo's elephants chowing down. activities like this provide the elephants with mental stimulation and entertainment. good for. they a man started writing a children christmas story over 50 years ago but never finished it. that is until his children found the tale, finished the story and published it for him. the new author was even able to have a public reading with his grandkids at a bookstore. jonathan speeldy is the co-writer of the book alexander the christmas butterfly. his daughter kia johnson helped finish it and publish the book. why did you write this book in the first place? i was involved with a creative

writing class in college and encouraged it. we was encouraged as assignments and what not to write stories and use our imagination so thats what i did. >> how did you take something found in a desk drawer to, surprise, published work? something always lived in my mind ever since i found it. i knew it was a magical story and actually was lost for about three years my dad found it this summer. i got to work. i never knew how big it was going to be. super exciting to see a now published book that has my dad's name on it and has his children's name on it, too. >> todd: how tough was it getting it across the finish line, kia? >> pretty tough. it was actually a pretty quick process and if anybody has ever

published a book they know it's not a quick process especially to get those illustrations that turned out so beautiful my brother and day lot of cross-country zoom calls to write the perfect ending for my dad's book and make it into the make story that we knew that it could be so we're so excited that it is finally out. >> take us to that moment when you first saw that moment at the bookstore thinking you are going for like a regular old read along? >> exactly. i spent a lot of time in that bookstore. it's just fun going in there take the grandkids every -- kaiya have three girls. i take them there every saturday. that's kind of our thing to do. and we just enjoy it. so, getting there. and, as i told the kids when i
