kazakhstan's emergency ministry says there are at least 32 survivors. and a preliminary investigation suggests that the plane may have collided with birds before the crash. bryan kohberger reportedly investigated to a home invasion just 10 miles away from the house where four university of idaho students were killed. a new report shows he was a person of interest in that case. it involved masked men trying to break into a home a year before. he was accused of killing before. kohberger was questioned about the burglary 13 days after he was arrested for the murders but

officers say is he no longer considered a suspect and that case remains unsolved to this very day. police are searching for a man caught on camera wielding not one but two guns while holding up a walgreen's in memphis early sunday morning. memphis police sharing this video of the man barging into the holding a pair of guns. demanded cash and took off before they could arrive. check out this video. capturing the moment an off duty officer saved a man from a burning car. incredible. the officer says he was driving home from his shift in cobb county, georgia, earlier this month when he noticed the car fully engulfed in flames on the highway with a man stuck inside. the officer ran to the driver's side door. lifted the victim out with the help of a bystander. he says he was just at the right place at the right time. no word on the victim's condition. and we hope he is okay. those are your headlines for now and i guess we could send it over to griff since is he

hanging out. hey, buddy. >> all right. thanks, kevin. yesterday on "fox & friends," a victim's family reacted to biden's removing their mother and wife's murderer from death row. >> she was shown no mercy at all. this man walked into the bank, never said two words to her. shot her three times. >> 12 jurors unanimously voted for the death penalty. that is what was fair and biden took that away from us. >> i am upset that this is even happening. that one man can make this decision without even talking to the victims, without any regard for what we have been through. what we are going through. >> griff: now, trump is speaking out saying, quote: as soon as i am inaugurated, i will direct the justice department to vigorously pursue the death penalty to protect american families and children from violent rapists, murderers and monsters. we will be a nation of law and order again.

christmas when this decision was made now they are going to pull this back as if they were giving some sort of christmas gift to the people on death row. what about the victims? you know, that family you just showed, has to relive this again. they are out there in the spotlight. now they have another change. and it's just disgusting. and, why do this? why not talk to the victims? why not prioritize them? but, you know, joe biden just totally asleep at the wheel. it's an embarrassment. i feel for these families. >> griff: you mention asleep at the wheel. how could you not have compassion and feel for these families. it's unique that it happened right before christmas. i think presumably, he could have -- if he was going to make the decision to do it after christmas, because you are right. in the case of the snell family. amanda snell who was murdered. jorge alva tores. his sentence commutated, dagger

of grief thrust again for this family. this individual who are kay alva tores before killing marine amanda snell murdered and raped 8 and 9-year-old. their names were crystal tobias and am amman laura hobbes. do you think joe biden even knows who these people are? >> i think president biden owes these families and the nation an explanation of why he did each and every one of these. i don't see any other scenario other than talking to the families. and explaining to them and to the country why can't he go out there on his perpetual vacation and actually explain why he did this? because, there is no explanation in terms of principle otherwise they wouldn't have the exceptions and why not go out there and explain that to the american people? and i don't think he can.

i just -- i'm shocked that he did this. he cannot leave soon enough. we can't have donald trump in there fast enough. i can tell you that. >> griff: well, and with the incoming administration, there seems to be some hope from tariffs to the panama canal to border security and more. feels like america is back, baby. as americans say they are more hopeful about 2025 than they were. here, take a quick look at this hole we have got here outlook on trump's second term 52% positive. 48% negative. what do you make of it, jason? >> oh, i think the numbers are even higher than that look, going into the election, two thirds of americans were telling us that the country is off track. and, donald trump hasn't even taken office yet and everybody is feeling more optimistic. why? because he is going to actually do what he said he is going to do. is he actually going to play offense. is he going to put america first. is he going to lock down those borders, take care of us overseas. tackle inflation. get the economy humming again. and it's amazing what the guy

has been amazing to do and still about 30 days out from being sworn in as the president. so i think there is an air of optimism. coupled with this air of patriotism. i haven't felt this surge of patriotism in this country like this in a long, long time. and it is so welcome because donald trump actually loves the united states of america. and i think the majority of americans they love this country. they don't want to be pushed around anymore. they don't want to be told that they are politically incorrect. they love the country. they love the flag. and they love donald trump because he loved them, too. >> griff: i think there is a reason why he plays lee greenwood's proud to be an american at every rally before he comes out. real quickly in the time i have got left. it's fascinating not only is the optimism there so too is actual hard dollars, all of the silicon valley billionaires coming to mar-a-lago giving money to the inauguration. i was covering the mar-a-lago beat as a reporter last week,
