1:01 am
>> katie: good evening, i'm katie pavlich in for laura ingraham. this is special edition of the angle. trump's political comeback was a cia of relief for most americans. it is evident democrats are imploding. senator joe manchin is leaving the senate and torching them on his way out. brand has been so maligned from the standpoint of just it's toxic. they have basically expanded upon thinking well we wanted to protect you there. we will tell you how you should live your life from that point on. >> it's not just mansion. other former leaders of the democrat party are sounding the alarm. >> the democratic party has lost its way.
1:02 am
it's leaderless proverbial chicken without a head. nobody knows who running the country. biden and harris are in hiding. whoever was running this party that had lost its way, forgot that it was about america first. >> katie: a chicken without its head. hmmm. even a few members of the pundit class speaking out. liz smith a democratic communications strategist told the "new york times" that the democratic brand is in the toilet. it's what the d next to their name means the status quo that people don't like. most worrisome for democrats, voters who have supported them the past or were at least reluctant to vote for trump in 2020 are frustrated. focus group participants describe the party as having its head in the sand like an ostrich, refusing to abandon its failed ideas. and blasted task complacent and lazy. saying dems don't care about the working class anymore. but the party isn't getting the message. instead, they are going back to their stale talking points about
1:03 am
class warfare. >> what donald trump and speaker johnson and the republicans across our government are doing is demonstrating that the incoming chaos congress and this administration is going to be of, by, and for the billionaires and corporations. and that's what they're telegraphing very clearly. >> this has never worked against trump because it's always been obvious to voters that he is the real champion of working class values. joining me now to discuss, charlie hurt, opinion editor of "the washington times" fox news contributor and allison huynh, former obama fundraiser. silicon valley tech pioneer. thank you both for joining us tonight. so, charlie, let's start with you. do you see any signs that the democrat leadership is actually learning their lesson from this election. >> charlie: no, i see no signs
1:04 am
whatsoever. i kind of get it a little bit because, of course, donald trump did such good job of stealing the best parts of the democrat party. you look at some of the people that have come over to join his side, whether it's, you know a big pharma skeptic like r.f.k. jr. or elon musk, and his ability to raid those middle class voters that you were just talking about. and those working class voters that you were just talking about. it's -- you know, you are not going to come back and win those people back with this crazy leftist agenda about electric cars and trying to shut down, you know, american prosperity. and so, i don't see any real evidence that they are listening to the handful of smart people in the party like john fetterman, who seem to be blowing the whistle saying, look, we have a real problem here and we have to do something about it. >> they are really trying to find out who can be the person in the party to get those voters back and to be able to carry the
1:05 am
message it wasn't kamala harris. but allison, this is hot democrats are trying to rely on for their future. take a listen. >> you see people like the governors of some of the big and notable states in illinois, j.b. pritzker in pennsylvania josh shapiro, and california gavin newsom and gretchen whitmer in michigan. it's not a coincidence that these are names that often get thrown around in the presidential prospects of 2028. >> so allison, all of these names are failed governors and the so-called moderates couldn't even deliver kamala harris, their states, and yet, this is who they are relying on. what are your thoughts on that? >> well, if you are not doing a good job with your local politics or your state politics like the state of california, gavin newsom has not been doing a very good job. look at our homeless situation. look at the economy in california, a lot of companies have been relocating to florida and texas. so if you are not doing a good job in your state or your city,
1:06 am
you should not be promoted to the national level. bottom line. >> so, just to follow up with you, allison, you are obama fundraiser, and now you are completely frustrated with the democratic party. so what attracted you to the democrats in the first place that no longer wants -- keeps you in their camp? >> that's a really good question. i believe that there is a realignment, it used to be the democratic party, the dems were supporting the working class the the middle class. the party free speech. no censorship. and now, yet, the tacticals have turned. they are in cahoots with big tech. look at what they did during the election and suppressing certain information about donald trump. when you search for donald trump, kamala harris came up on google. when you try to search for the joe rogan podcast, it was very difficult to find on youtube. so, there is now a realignment. and basically they have allowed the radical left to hijack the
1:07 am
party. >> katie: go ahead. >> i'm a soccer mom. i run the team school board in silicon, valley. and when i have these radical activist interrupt me during my school board meeting. i shut them down. we have to focus on practical matters. we need pate teachers, we need to pay the school bus drivers. we need to provide curriculum. practical science and math. literature for our children. not this dei woke stuff that's very divisive. and so. >> katie: real problems for the people they represent. exactly. so, charlie, see speaks of the far left. running the democratic party. and there still seem to be in charge and even though trump won a mandate. maga mandate busted through the blue wall. won the popular vote. won the electoral college. there is a bunch of activists i guess call them leftist activist hostile are trying to bar trump from taking office.
1:08 am
claiming january 6th going back to that argument. they said op-ed today in the hill, disqualification is based on insurrection against the constitution, not the government. the evidence of donald trump's engaging in such insurrection is overwhelming, so once again, the party of democracy doesn't seem to want to put the president, who is duly elected into office. >> yeah. and it's not like we didn't have a discussion about this in the last election. and the last election was decided on issues like this. and that is irrelevant to them because all they care about is power. they don't care about democracy. they want to keep themselves in power. and so they are going to try to keep this fight going because they don't care what the voters have to say. >> katie: we will see what happens. charlie allison w thank you so much. weeks away from a second trump presidency. team on the ground ambitious day
1:09 am
one agenda. up first the border. >> what are the executive orders you are expecting on day one, regarding the border. >> securing the southern border, perhaps looking at title 42. president trump is also going to launch the largest mass deportation of illegal criminals in american history. >> more on that later in the show. but, first, trump's also pledged to immediately get to work on trying to end the ukraine war. instead of pumping money and weapons into it like biden is, he has been calling for a meeting with putin. and it sounds like he could be making some headway. >> >> i don't know when we will meet. i'm ready for it, of course. at any time. and i will be ready to meet if he wants. >> trump's also going after woke. vowing to ban dei programs across the federal government. he says he will even go after trans lunacy, using executive action to ban trans threets from competing in women's sports.
1:10 am
joining me now is florida congressman cory mills. congressman, there is a lot of day one he has his own. a lot other people want him to tackle. what issues do you want to see him taking on immediately? >> well, i think the biggest thing is to look at immigration. i think that we have to get an executive order to stop biden's parole rules which allows for our borders to start finally being secured and wall to be built. leading the mass key poor station by tom homan. also birthright citizenship which we know under the 14th amendment will be a clash or challenge within scotus. again, i support the idea of one or both parents being american citizens. in order for the child to qualify. the other thing is going after the cultural wars. we have to get dei, esg and crt out of our schools, and our military, and out of our corporations. we need to get back to actually allowing each individual to be able to go ahead aand thrive because of their merits, not because of any type of inclusivity that they call it by
1:11 am
race, gender, religion or otherwise. but also getting men out of women's sports. look, women's sports not a plan b for failed male athletes. we need to make sure that we are actually securing title ix, strengthening that and guaranteeing that women have the right to be able to succeed in their endeavors to play sports at the collegiate levels. >> katie: the economy, of course, war the top issue for voters in november. the left is down playing trump's economic agenda. watch. >> look, is he being handed an economy that is in good shape. trump is looking at, you know, tariffs. >> i think the best thing trump could do for the economy is just basically nothing at all. you know, be the hype man that this u.s. economy needs. as i said it has a lot going for it even if consumers aren't yet recognizing it. >> congressman, two things, nothing is needed for our economy, i mean, that seems ridiculous. but, also, you know, the trump tax cuts are going to expire this year. so what is congress' plan to keep those in place?
1:12 am
because, if they do most americans are getting a tax hike. >> well, chairman jason smith. the chairman of the ways and means committee has talked about either a one or two bill solution. which would allow us to extend the tax credits and also the reforms. this would keep our small businesses at that 20% 21% level as opposed to 40-plus percent which democrats wanted cripple businesses and lead to economic decline. biden inflation is the worst we have ever seen. the cost of goods, cost of heat and cooling our homes. the actual housing affordability as a whole is completely gone. the american dream collapsed under this administration. that's why with trump coming in, eliminating some of the burdens of regulations, guaranteeing our energy sector can thrive like ever before by guaranteeing drill permits and being able to do fracking and things like that to make sure we are the leader in oil and gas and energy export is the key thing to helping the economics of this country. >> katie: what is the plan for congress to help bolster the president's agenda, given how much pushback he is going to get from the deep state, from the
1:13 am
left in the media and also from democrats on capitol hill and do you foresee democrats actually trying to work with him on maybe a number of these issues? >> i think on some of the issues that makes sense for the person people. there is no reason the democrats shouldn't work. the biggest thing is making sure that we unify as a republican body and that we're able to make sure that the president's agenda is successful. we need to also make sure that we can forecast various quagmires and land mines that we are going to be able to foretell so we can prepare the president and other ways to be able to do things. >> katie: 245 days fraught inauguration, thank you, congressman. >> thank you. >> katie: coming up, how the tanel daniel penny effect is already impacting society and not in a good way. dr. jordan peterson is here and he i

>> katie: troubling trend is emerging in our society, people are standing by as fellow systems are attacked because people do not waub to become the next daniel penny. on christmas eve, two people were slashed in unprovoked attacks in grant central. the other a 26-year-old woman was slashed in the throat.
1:19 am
she told the "new york post" that everyone around her froze. she said no one called 911. no one in grand central called 911. it was my neighbor, i was on my phone with my neighbor when it happened. and she called 911. the angle predicted something like this would last year when bragg targeted daniel penny. >> laura: bragg wants to make an example out of mr. penny. it's something like this. defend yourself or defender others, and you're doing it at your own risk. and that's just how the left wants you, isn't it? scared. too scared to act. ttoo scared to speak out. too scared to stand up for your right to self-defense. >> katie: this is a result of prosecuting heroes like daniel penny. now everyone is scared do help anyone out who is in need. so joining me now dr. jordan peterson, bestselling author and clinical psychologist. dr. peterson so great to have you on the show. thank you so much for coming on. so, is this a cultural shift
1:20 am
that we are seeing from the left trying to make sure that people don't help each other out in society that generally wants to take care of their neighbor? >> well, i think you see two things happening. the first is that there is, obviously, emphasis on the left victim status of criminals. that's a very bad idea. the idea that criminal behavior is a cons sense like merely of socioeconomic oppression let's say or oppression on other bases that the criminals are justified in what they do. that's a terrible, general rule of thumb and it's in the true recommendation plenty of people in dire not criminal. i don't think the daniel penny effect has much effect on people's behavior are wards to helping out someone in a complex violent situation. generally what determines people's behavior in those situations is their familiarity with what to do but also the
1:21 am
number of other people who happen to be around. the more people there are who are observing the less likely any single person is to take action. often because they assume that someone else already has or they don't know what to do. so i think that the comments about the daniel penny case are relevant. you see the same thing happening with luigi mangione, for example. they are relevant with regards to a critique of the left insofar as the left treats criminals as victims. but, they are notvel rant, i thirelevant, the daniel penny efl have little effect in the medium or long term on people's plift tproclivity to help. >> manhattan d.a. alvin bragg continues to overcharge people like daniel penny who was aquaked while overcharging, not charging at all or letting violent criminals out of jail so they can victimize others. but then they say this on
1:22 am
twitter and elsewhere in other media. they say things like this is from bragg. new yorkers rely on public transportation and our transit system and it should be a safe environment for all manhattan knights. jeopardy of commuters riders and workers. so, after there is consequences for their policies they then turn around and say they are doing everything they can to keep people safe when it's clearly not true. that's what happens when you treat criminals victims. >> . probability of being caught is very effective. criminals are rational actors by and large. they take risk into effect. california with the waves of shoplifting emerging after the california government so foolishly decided that any shoplifting under a thousand dollars wouldn't be prosecuted
1:23 am
anyone. so the best thing that governments could do is increase criminals will actually suffer the consequences of their actions and stop treating them as if they are victims. the victim idea with regards to accurately is unbelievably naive. most especially, especially repeat offenders, it's 1 percent of criminals commit 56% of the crimes. and it's been known among people who understand penal logical theory for decades. the les thing can you do is until they are in late 20's when they often more or less mature out of their criminality to feel sorry you are a fool. >> katie: d.a.s voting out of office: he did say in an interview with fox nation about his experience that he would do it all again, let's take a listener. >> yeah.
1:24 am
>> if you face. >> if you faced the same. i would not be able to live with myself. if i didn't do anything in that situation, someone got hurt. >> i would feel guilty for the rest of my life. >> katie: dr. peterson your response to that? >> well, i think that's a good example of someone acting in accordance with his character. >> violent situation. hero penny is in that category and something that is deeply characteristic of him something rare. now, should it be rewarded and admired? yes. i supposed outside danger of that is a rise in vigilantism which is something we don't want to see. but we don't want to punish people for being helpful.
1:25 am
that's clearly a foolish move. >> katie: i have a hard time believing that when someone is charged and embarrassed and their life is put on hold for a year and go through trial in a very blue city where the potential for them to be locked up in prison for 15 years if they are not acquitted by a jury of their peers that they would then maybe not think twice about what would happen the next time around. but, we will see what happens. hopefully it doesn't. dr. peterson, thank you so much. >> my pleasure, niles talking to you. >> good see you. well, coming up, the moment an accused chief realized she screwed up big time. the can't miss video u

golden state california criminals are learning the hard way that five finger discounts are coming to an end. the state passed proposition 36 last month once again making retail theft a felony. but i guess some people are having a tough time adjusting to new reality like these lovely ladies who are arrested for stealing more than $1,500 of items from ulta and kohl's. >> it's a felony? new law. stealing is a felony. [inaudible] went to jail last year and put on probation for a year stealing out of target. >> stealing is indeed a felony, jason. we are not going to see changes overnight. this is definitely a positive step in the right direction for california. >> it certainly is. and sorry to say for her if she has got a record. she is also going to get a tougher punishment as a result of the proposition.
1:32 am
look, at the end of the day, we have had these conversations for a while that it's really easy to change the culture towards lawlessness. and we have certainly seen these blue cities across the country how that's unfolding. and certainly taking a long time to any sort of semblance of normalcy in these cities and these counties in these states. and she is absolutely right. orange county has been a little bit different in california than los angeles county where you have been able to get away with this. orange county their d.a. todd pritzker has been tough on these types of crimes when he is allowed. to say that's really the second part of this, right? we can't just have cops making the arrest. we have to have prosecutors willing to produce for the police to go out and rearrest the same people over and over again. you make the point that lawlessness is a choice. and while california voted this in, every single county in california voted in favor of the proposition by the way for harsher penalty for criminals. maybe other states should take a
1:33 am
book out of -- a lesson from out of the california's book. including portland, oregon which is now being called a great city to steal in this is that city in seattle. hour long blitzes known as retail theft missions have resulted in hundreds of shoplifting arrests but few convictions. more often than not defendants who are lee released blow off court dates and some have histories of failing to appear more than 10 times but are still let go to your pint of a lack much prosecutions for illegal behavior. nothing but a lack of prosecutions drive me nuts judges go easy on them history of not showing up. release them on own personal recognizance offer absurdly amount of bail. you are ensuring that they continue to feel named. and ultimately still no consequences if they are in fact caught again.
1:34 am
so, it's very holistic the approach that we need to take. it's very, very simple and not controversial. make the arrest. prosecute the criminal put criminal in jail. it is simply that easy. it actually works. i know it's shocking. >> katie: jason, also you know in your neighborhood and when you see things in new york city, washington all over. we all know that this doesn't just effect criminals. it effects the economy, businesses closing, et cetera. so thank you for coming on to talk about it. we appreciate it. >> appreciate it. thank you. >> katie: well, trump is not even in office yet. but resistance 2.0 is in full swing. as we mentioned earlier, the incoming administration is making mass deportations one of its testimony priorities but the liberals at the aclu are already standing in the way. >> we have this whole plan around firewall for freedom we call it. the idea that these local officials can really play an important role in stopping the worse of the garment abuses. make sure our prisons and jails
1:35 am
are off limits. they should begin to think about what actions they could take to pardon immigrants who have a criminal record because they drove on a suspended license. well, let's take them out of harm's way. >> looks like oregon is taking his message to hart state's attorney general sanctuary tool kit protecting illegal immigrants asking questions like this. how do i prepare myself forever encounters with ice? is there a place that i can call to snitch on ice activity in my community? or how can i report a suspected violation of oregon's sanctuary laws. joining me now is chris clem, retired u.s. border patrol chief so, chris, this is just insane. you hear him talking about keeping prisons and jails off limits, which, if you need to go to the prison and jails, it's probably because there are criminals there how can incoming border czar tom homan, who is working for the trump administration, combat state officials like the ones in oregon, who are standing in the way of deporting some of these
1:36 am
vicious criminals inside our communities. well, yeah, it is almost laughable to believe that people actually think that way. i don't think the aclu is changing any minds of the officials they are talking to. they are already thinking that way border czar tom homan enforce the law on the books teams out there to go after criminal aliens. tom homan has talked about it will national security and public safety threats. what on earth would make people not make people not wanting to make that a priority. as far as the jails? that is absolutely the place where we need to cooperate because when those criminals are in jail, the ice officers can go in there and make that arrest and take them into custody right there. when you release them to the community, you are now putting everybody's lives in jeopardy because those officers and agents have to go out there and make those arrests, exposing everybody to those elements and
1:37 am
reestate if you will. that is absurd we need ice in the jails to do this smoothly and safely. >> katie: lack of cooperation allows criminal aliens to gout and victimize other innocent people, which is just ridiculous. one of the people still standing in the way it's not just the aclu. but it's states like california and the governor there, gavin newsom is working on immigrant support plan to counter trump's deportations and this is what the plan propose it. says the creation of an immigrant support network comprised of regional hubs to connect at risk individuals. their families, and communities, with community systems, such as legal services, schools, labor unions, and local governments, so, is this really what california needs or should they maybe just cooperate to get the violent criminals out of their jails and their communities? >> well, i have said this before. i never thought i would say it again. we need look at new york city. they have come around saying hey, we are willing to work with ice to make sure we are targeting these criminals.
1:38 am
look, this is something that is very, very important to the american people. it's been proven in the polls, it's been proven by the election. we need to go after that. and california is just getting in the way. you know, but i will tell you this. there are a lot of states and a lot of cities and a lot of sheriffs and a lot of police chiefs that are willing to cooperate. and those that are actively putting up resistance, i don't think it's going to take much to trying early president trump to give the green light to the incoming attorney general to press the issue on 18 us (c)(11) 1 and 8 usc 2034. impeding and harboring and aiding and abetting. if they want to make an example and be a martyr. i don't think it's going to take much for the incoming administration to test the waters. >> katie: do you think they will be able to prosecute them for violating federal law? >> you know what? why not? they sure are-out biden administration sure does like it go after the states enforce immigration law and support the border patrol and ice agents. why don't we go ahead and turn the pages on them.
1:39 am
it's going to be a challenge. i'm sure it will be fought tooth and nail. the laws on the books for a reason. we have got the right people coming on board. to take care of business. and why not? i think american people are tired of these people, you know, like governor newsom and others that are trying to skirt the law. we are targeting people causing threats to america. >> katie: tom homan willing to put him in jail. he says this publicly a lot so we will see. chris, thank you so much. >> you got it, thank you. >> katie: coming out. drugged out rats and beards on ice. what the government is wasting yo

getting federal workers back into the office and introduced new legislation to do just that senator blackburn joins me now. so, senator, how do you plan on getting them back to the office and if they don't want to come back, sell the buildings and get give it back to the american taxpayer. >> americans have reached the tipping point with putting up with outrageous spending. every member has lists but more importantly the american people have a list. and they want to pay less for gas and groceries and they know that this federal spending is causing a lot of what they are doing now, as you are saying you have 10% of the federal workforce working full time less than five days a week in an office; we have 12% of our office space that is being used. so, one of my doge acts provisions is to make certain that people return to work.
1:48 am
if they are not returning to work, then we need to remove them or we need to sell those buildings, or another of the doge provisions, let's move these federal agencies outside of washington, d.c. and put them across the country where people like tennesseans are going to work every single day. in order to put up with this inflation that's been caused by the spending. >> katie: also, they would have to deal with the policies that they are implementing from washington, d.c. and the community that they live. >> right. >> katie: to the point of getting rid of federal workers. there are some road blocks to. this "the washington post" is reporting that about 56% of the civil service is covered by collective bargaining contracts. and many of which include provisions for telework and that a record 10% of federal jobs are now designated as fully remote. so, if congress can't get civil
1:49 am
service reform done first, are all these efforts for doge going to go anywhere? >> of course the efforts are going to go into action. and here's the thing. the american people are impatient for action. we have the president trump administration. it's going to be aggressive. they are going to be focused. and they are going to be pushing congress to take that action. and get people back to work. make certain that we clear backlogs, and i will add to that another of the doge acts provisions is across the board spending cuts. 1, 2, and 5%. in our discretionary nondefense spending. to say make certain that we are -- that we are certainly reducing what the federal government spends. what we need to do is go in and cap the spending. we need freeze federal hiring, federal salaries, another of the

provisions. we need make certain we are working the debt down, not adding to it. and that means people show up, people do their job. we do more with less. we utilize technology, we implement these doge provisions. people are tired of waiting for action. and they are going to -- i have talked to so many people that say, look, marcia, you have got the house, the senate, the white house, with the greatest president trump. we want to see things done. i'm delighted that they do. >> katie: if the federal government has money to spend on rats doing cocaine, they are taking too much money from the american people senator, we will be watching the doge act thank you so much coming up, did you ever want to know more about sex work, beyonce, pronouns? well now is your chance, the engel exposes the most

they can't find a job. >> well, i'm hoping they're not paying for that, katie. i'm hoping someone in their life, maybe a counselor, maybe a trusted friend or someone they text with back and forth is telling the them you don't have to go to college to take classes on sex work. anyone can be a sex worker or prostitute. i thought we were getting our daughters great high school educations and then college educations so they'd never have to worry about doing sex work. i thought parents were instilling more or less and values. i thought part of being an american woman was never being confronted as an adult in public places with topics like sex work and queer theory and all that nonsense. i thought that was just how it was. >> well, princeton you have to pay $90,000 a year to go to school there, but, you know, they're not the only ones doing these types of things. there's a grad level class at of boston university that's offering a class called medieval trans studies featuring trans saints and gender fluid angels, and gender queer monks.

at tufts university they're offering a class called trans history narrative and influence, and these classes count towards a masters degree or a ph.d. >> you know, i'm starting to see the debate now about hbi visas in which american company cans import foreign workers to do american jobs. the argument is americans should be doing these jobs. it right. of course they use visas for things like cheap labour but i think one of it is education. it's not that americans are too stupid to do these jobs. they're not being prepped in college. instead they're learning about transjender when they should be learning about stem, whatever have you. that's because the left sees college institutions rather than turning out the next best generation and we're seeing the effects of these ridiculous classes. >> yeah, so stacey, also at the same time, that these are the courses that people are paying to take, they're also taking out federal loans that then they expect taxpayers to pay back. >> well, you know, if a person is silly enough to think that
1:59 am
gender queer theory and, you know, ethiopian monks of some kind of sex crime, that that's a good use of their time, they probably also thil i should be sitting here working two jobs to pay their student loans. this is the issue we have. we're bringing people in, foreigners who are very serious about education and stem, and we're having them take these high-paying, good middle class and upper middle class jobs, while americans sit around twiddling their thumbs thinking about 57 genders. merry christmas america and everybody, but i'm not here for it. >> i don't think a lot of people are. university of michigan is. they're offering a $600 pronouns 101 training to k-12 public schools, but it free for its own students and the goal is to learn what pronouns are, be able to share why they're important in their own words, identify correct pronouns in sentence structures, so i guess there are so many of them now that maybe people do need a workshop. but it just ridiculous. >> maybe they do, but i'm telling you, colleges you don't
2:00 am
get any juice for your squeeze at this point. they're reckless money making -that have no account canability for what they're putting out there. >> that's absolutely true. we'll have to wait and see how much money we're going to fork over to these ridiculous classes. my parents would have never paid for that. stacey, do you think as a parent people should be paying for that? >> no, i have one graduated from college and two who are still going. i can tell you we won't be paying one penny for this nonsense. you can learn a lot of things on youtube and that's why some people are using their dollars for education in state schools and trade schools and the ivies are starting to lose their lulser. i hope the ivies continue to be a shiny beacon of education for us but this is nonsense, katie, and i think they should stop it. >> looking forward to the next doctor of the family. thank you very much. that's it for us tonight. make sure you can tune in tomorrow morning. th ) >> todd: mik
