is being able to recognize the new year is a fresh start and just how you're approaching it in terms of your view with january 1 or what the beginning of the year looks like for you. it is tricky because nobody loves making change. we like routine and like things to be consistent so encouraging your children to make positive charges is sometimes met with resistance. model for them, these are changes i'm going to be making for myself, what are good ones for you, or do yours align with me? we all appreciate a companion going through changes and help and accountability that comes with that. >> ashley: you talk about change, is there truth to create habit it takes like 21 days to create that habit, is that true

in people of all ages? >> absolutely, research shows around 21, could take up to two months depending how significant the habit is we're making. some are easier than others. more consistent we are, hopefully easier it is to implement and maintain it long-term. >> ashley: i think the healthy eating is something my family we stay onboard with, a lot of people have trouble with that. another thing people have trouble with is lower screen time and i know on here that was a suggestion to have like a game night or something that does not involve screens or tvs, how would you suggest telling a 13 or 14-year-old we're not going to look at our ipad or iphone, we're going to play chess today. how do you talk to an adolescent

about that? >> that's a great point. most teenagers in a sense are addicted to devices and phones. not much is more stimulating to communicating with your friends, it is tough to create separation there. and we know that humans are very motivated to work toward earning a reward. making it as fun as possible is not super enticing for a 13 year old, i admit. uno sparks fear battles in our house, anything they are motivated to continue doing again and again, let them pick the game, they have autonomy in it and there is a sense of control. anything you can do to make it as fun as possible and it probably won't be as fun as

mandatory dei programs declare that the institution will ensure diversity and seek speakers with diverse ideological and political views. ohio state senator jerry serino introduced the bill and he joins us now. thanks for being with us this morning. i want to go right to this because, if you look at the number of universities who are walking away from these dei policies in 2024, it's places like florida, texas, ohio, iowa, utah, kansas, and idaho. they are all conservatively leaning states. do you think this is because they realize, hey, this is not working. the people do not want this? >> well, i think we're looking at education reform -- higher education reform in total and dei reform is one important part of that. i think people -- not only educational institutions but also companies are now beginning to see that they jumped on the dei band wagon because it was
