year. >> kevin: let's talk resolutions. some of us want to do things differently in 2025 from 2024. a viewer earlier said her language got salty in 2024, her resolution was to clean up in 2025. joey, what issureionew year's resolution? >> joey: i can't change it now. my biggest resolution is get out and hunt more. i got some taken away this year. or spend more time with my family. maybe bring the familyun hunting more. >> katie: know even more. i can share the hunting resolution with you. i want to learn to play tennis and golf, both time-consuming. i will try. >> kevin: you will love tennis more than you realize. my goal is to spend more money

first inauguration of trump got violents with riots. hope the mayor makes sure those criminals are not causing problems. >> kevin: can't just be talked, i was carjacked in d.c. a few years ago. that can happen anywhere, i understand that, the capital city should be reasonably safe and i think white house and obviously the mayor's office will come together to make that happen and congressional lawmakers may have a say in that. >> katie: may be an effort to revoke home rule. the city council tried to govern themselves and republicans and donald trump said they have not done a great job. >> joey: murder rate in 2023 up so high 273 murders, highest

since 1997. this year came down 35% on h hom homicide -- or violent crime and 32% on homicides. what happened there? tougher laws, tougher penalties. jails are swollen, they are keeping people in jail. there is correlation between amount of criminals not released and crime going down. mayor is out trying to take credit, it was d.c. city council and congressional legislation that made d.c. tighten up on criminals. maybe other cities have a big problem need to take note. >> kevin: we can talk about seattle problems or portland, keep it seriously, keep bad guys off the street and protect those that live in the city or those

that want to come to the city. if you want people to come enjoy america's city. >> katie: washington, d.c. has special status and should be made safe for everybody that wants to visit and talk about car jacking, awful. one point three car jackings were happening every single day. it is out of control and they need to change that. >> joey: remember the two teenage girls that tried to hijack uber driver and they e ended up killing him. i don't know what the final sentence was, the point is these kids grow up thinking you can do something. there is video of the two girls in orange county saying stealing is a felony? i did not know that. these cities have taught this generation that there is no consequence. maybe they are starting to turn the tide and president trump

human beings, threatened with a gun. girls had to take a shower with the door open while they stared at their bodies, torturing kids, pushing me, pulling my hair, pouring hot water on one of the girls. they treated me like i was not a human being. to think about keith, 65 year old american hostage suffering under the ground for more than a y year, it breaks my heart. no human being should go through what i went through or thrown under ground for 450 days. they are americans, some of them, keith is an american and they need to get him out. they have suffered enough. i want keith home alive, i want him to come back alive. >> katie: i asked what she wants

to see changed, she said america is strongest country on face of the planet, it is time to exert that power and get hostages home. ministry of health submitted report to united nations about physical of the hostages. they talked to doctors and they experience physical and sexual violence against men, women and children. underage boys suffered de ation of water, branding, and she was saying it has been more than 400 days, going into year three now. october 7 was in 2023, we had one-year anniversary in 2024, going into 2025 and she is begging for the hostages to come home.

president donald trump at rnc convention in august said if they are not home before i take office, there will be a problem for hamas. >> kevin: it is denmonic to do o human beings what they are doing. these poor hostages. as an american, in particular, we have an obligation to do more than play around the edges and hopefully there is a new administration coming in, maybe they will get this person home. >> joey: dozens killed and dozens taken hostage, it seems tone and tenor from this government has been this is an israeli problem and those are american citizens. i don't know what doing more looked like that wouldn't spark us into war. i grew up thinking that if my time in marine corps, if

behind, it is awful. >> bill: by the way, let's focus on that. 10 years. you can't blame it on covid, this was pre-covid, during covid and after covid, reading scores down seven points and math scores down 14 points. we are getting worse and worse, number one problem to address. we know how to teach reading and we know how to teach math. let's be sure states are doing that. >> katie: there has been controversy around eshgliminati department of education all together. what could happen if that were to come to fruition? e eliminating department of education would school choice and gain more control, educational programs would move to other federal departments, it is not necessarily a bad thing

given how much has been spent with the department of education and test scores are going down. >> it isn't. it is difficult to abolish the department, probably take 60 votes. i don't want our great new president focusing on this rather than border or china or the economy, but take some pieces and send them out. biggest piece is higher education. reprivatize higher education, loans coming from federal government, send back to private sector. government has been a mess. get that out of the department. second, block grant to the states, go ahead and do what we know how to do. you must have school choice and you must have accountability or we'll report your scores. three, title nine needs reform,

tips, tell us about them. >> happy early new year to you and everybody watching. as we go into 2025, we have to create a vision. studies show 75% of people do not have a vision and if we write the vision down, we have 33% more likely to be successful. have a vision in 2025. understand this, money is tool that brings your vision to reality. five steps and i talk about this in my latest book. have zero base budget. have budget match your vision. zero base budget, list your income minus expenses and bottom is zero going into 2025. >> joey: when you talk about tips, one i found, find excess spending you can cut. for everyone that is different, how do you know, is it netflix, gas, what can we cut?

>> start with subscriptions, why do you have apple music and spotify, come down to one. your tv ones, amazon, we're through holidays, go back and step back from certain subscription purchases. key thing, look at your budget and last three months of bank statements and it will be amazing and you will see what you have and what you can take away from. >> joey: this helps saving money is a great idea. before you can get there, start to remove debt. you have tips on how to remove debt, take it and tell us about them. >> step two i talk about in my book, before we remove debts, make sure we don't have to go back into debt. sets aside 30 days in a high yield savings account and you have breathing room and if life happens while eliminating debt,

you have something to go back to. talk about how to eshgliminate debt. use debt snowball method from smallest to largest and make minimum payments and anything extra you get put on top of smallest one and pay that off and put on second one and third one. i want us to imagine what would it feel like to be end of 2025, executed our vision, eliminate our debt and have financial freedom because we aggressively attacked our debt. >> joey: some are technical, start with lowest and get rid of that interest and snowball up. get mad at your debt. it is about wanting to do it. anthony, your book "take your seat at the table," folks, check
