>> griff: that is such a good point. i was thinking about what our new years resolutions might be. i think it's going to be just go big. >> nicole: go big or go home. >> joey: go big. >> griff: new optimism in the country. hopefulness in the country. whatever your resolution is whether it's to get healthier or save money, whatever. just go bigger. >> nicole: exaactually i'm goino go the exact opposite. baby step. griff. i don't like resolutions. i don't like to put the big pressure at the start of the new year. rather i'm like we can be doing a little bit more. what are things i can be tweaking every single day. >> griff: baby steps. >> nicole: i'm not as tall. >> joey: i am going to sit there and jump in on the leg joke in a second. i'm between the middle on two things. i don't like resolutions in the sense of saying on january 1st i'm going.

i know it's the right thing to do and going to help me. why would i wait three weeks to do it? that's three weeks to come up with excuses i have made little changes the last couple months and over the next few weeks inspired to make others. my big thing for 2025 try to spin a little bit more time at home. i don't think it's going to happen. it's going to be a busier i don't. >> nicole: busy we're. we love having you here in new york city. >> joey: absolutely. listen, there was a big crowd out there last night. they left a lot of evidence there was a big crowd. >> griff: griff people still out there. >> nicole: the sanitation and clean-up crew they do such an amazing job. they get in and clean it up. >> joey: the city needs a washing i will say that. >> griff: yesterday, about maybe 10:30, i was outside here in front of the building and people were lined up down the street. some of these very people waiting at 10:00 a.m. to get into those pens where they can't

>> chanley: hey. happy new year, everyone. great to be here. we are all familiar with the ball drop in new york city which was epic last night by the way. there are plenty of other smaller, yet no less if he has been countdown drops across the country to help bring in the new year. including the big cheese drop in plymouth, wisconsin. the town dubbed the cheese capital of the world. lit up huge slice of parmesan before it made its decent for the 18th year in a row. georgia peach state only makes sense that atlanta would bring in the new year where 800-pound 8 feet tall gi peach dropping in front of tens of thousands in atlanta. a tradition since 1989. keeping with the theme downtown miami transformed into a hub of excitement with this big orange installation. affectionately known as -- this 35-foot, 2,000-pound lead sculpture lid up the city's final countdown to 2025.

the changes in the world, everything is going to be decided here. that's why the biggest and brightest and why so many of the silicon valley billionaires that did not support trump in the first term were saying you know what? better take another look. better get on his side and get on his page. i think you are going to see mar-a-lago continue to be more than just, you know, southern white house or whatever title they give it. i think it's going to be a place he spends a lot of time during his next four years and where a lot of important decisions will be made and where a lot of important people will go meet him. >> joey: say mar-a-lago, really president-elect donald trump. most western countries haven't done as welling as we have in general. they will haven't done as well responding to covid and all of that economically. they are hungry. they are hungry to move forward. they know president trump at least has promised to move this country forward economically, especially. when you talk about immigration. they have the same problem.

so many other places including canada. when we talk about being the center of the universe. really what we are saying is president trump has the ear of anybody who wants to pick up the phone and talk. to say different this time around where, you know, leaders and the press and everyone taking this moral stand. that's not the case this time. >> nicole: every single president coming in says they are going to hit the ground running. first 100 days x, y, and z. president-elect trump starting to meet with foreign leaders and jeff bezos and a lot of the big industry players come talk to him. everyone is ready to deal. the momentum is continuing to grow i'm looking forward to see what the first 100 days will bring. >> griff: day one will be something. typically inaugurations. all the incoming staff looks forward to the party in the beginning, the inaugural balls. they are making social plans and go to parties. if you are working for president donald trump in the white house.

>> nicole: vacation is over. >> griff: be ready to hit the ground. is he going to start signing executive orders. see everything from the border to the regulations, oil and a lot of other things probably going to be some surprises. i think it's pretty clear that he wants the most impressive first 100 days but also the most impressive first 30 days in office and the first day in office in the actions that he will take. >> joey: you talk about connecting the center of the universe. connecting with world leaders. he won this presidency by connecting with america and he did it in unique ways, driving a garbage truck. serving mcdonald's fries. connecting with americans that weren't political at all or leaned left. apparently one of the people that was most responsible for good ideas all the way to the rnc to the madison square garden to, again, mcdonald's and the garbage truck is this guy named justin cap parole. so i want to read this truth social post that trump put out

yesterday he is getting a promotion and permanent job. justin cap parole has been with me from the very beginning a very incredible journey. helping produce our historic rallies and events rnc madison square garden, mcdonald's commercial and even my seriously viral garr package justin will continue to serve as external operations as executive producer for major events and public appearances. congratulations, justin. keep up the great work. you know, from my memory. he didn't really ever stop having rallies after he was elected in 2016. he continued to have -- so there might be a lot of opportunity for justin to keep doing what he is doing. >> griff: go ahead. >> nicole: i do love that president-elect trump is continuing to post on truth social and sometimes they get over to x because this is one of the reasons why he connects with the american people. it's obvious.

he is writing these posts as opposed to president biden x posts. you never knew who was writing that. certainly never sounded like him. he, again, is speak directly to the american people. on top of that obviously, he worked the media perfectly which was a huge driving force behind his 2024 campaign. i think justin producing some of these massive events that clearly garnished a lot of attention and i think kept that momentum going during the election cycle, this is probably a very well deserved promotion for him and congratulations. >> griff: justin caporale do great things as someone who was an executive producer before being on the air. the job of an executive producer is so daunting. you got to basically just council up with image from nothing. in the case if you remember the interview with the guy that brought the garbage truck. he got a phone call that morning and said, i'm not sure can you get a good truck? i found a truck and then he

confessed about halfway through the morning he realized this is going to donald trump. my goodness. that's what executive producer does. you know what we could do? here is an idea. get a garbage truck, put trump in it. someone has got to execute that and pull it off. justin caporale did that. it's amazing. it reminds me the lately at water who was the genius behind ronald reagan's fraternal order photo ops: gav at water instrumental roll in these moments. justin caporale is going next level with this stuff. a montage of trump in the garbage truck and a mcdonald's to remind our viewers how those events and moments played out. >> how do you like my garbage truck. it is in honor of kamala and joe biden. >> my response to joe and kamala is very simple. you can't lead america if you don't love americans.

presidency, his attention to detail and how he presents himself is infamous. to the point that he was a uniform. he has a blue suit with a red ty. a serious event that's what he is wearing. tan 12 months a year. he cares about how he is perceived from his shoes up to his hair. and it's become his brand. for him to put on that reflective vest or for him to put on that mcdonald's apron, it elevated the dignity of people who do those jobs. elevated the dignity of that uniform. guy so meticulous and i don't want to say perfectionist but so particular about howl he presents himself, is he willing to wear their uniform to take pictures standing in front of a crowd, present himself doing their job. i think whether people connected all those dots, that's why it resonates. >> griff: orange vests sold out across the country. >> joey: they started showing up at rallies. age. >> griff: i can't wait for what justin caporale going forward. first executive producer the

white house has had. turning now to your headlines beginning with a fox news alert. a new year's day tragedy in new orleans. multiple people are dead when a car plowed into a crowd celebrating new years on bourbon street. the driver got out of the vehicle and fired a weapon. this happened just a few hours ago, and there is still a huge police presence at the scene. police have still to specify how many deaths and injuries there are we continue to bring you the latest as it develops and comes into our newsroom. here in new york city, a suspect with a violent criminal history has been charged with attempted murder for pushing a man in front of an approaching subway train. police arresting the 23-year-old suspect shortly after the incident. the 45-year-old victim miraculously survived and was taken to the hospital in critical condition. this incident coming on the same day that the woman who was burned to death on another new york subway train is identified as a 57-year-old woman from new jersey. the suspect in that crime, an

illegal immigrant from guatemala has been indicted on first degree murder charges. >> and president-elect trump now says he'll attended official state funeral for former president jimmy carter after he passed away sunday at the age of 100. the funeral scheduled for january 9th will follow carter lying instated in the capitol rowrotunda. pikd is expected to be at carter' funeral to deliver the eulogy. federal aviation administration expanding drone flight restriction tolls nine more towns in new jersey. the restrictions are in effect now and will last through january 18th. the faa has issued a total of 57 drone flight restrictions in the garden state over the past two months. this comes after a number of drones were spotted flying over new jersey. and other ear areas of the couny since november. bowl game action number 3 penn

>> thank you for having me here. >> joey: 43 democrats, 53 republicans. fairly new rules of confirming a cabinet nomination of a simple majority. it seems like republicans have the upper hand even if they lost 3. j.d. vance the deciding factor. talk about getting nominations cabinet picks through. is it as much what the accurate are going to do or maybe what the republicans are going to do. >> we know senate democrats are going to try to obstruct. that's not really the problem. the problem is whether senate republicans are going to fall for democrats obstructionism. as you mentioned, they have the super majority right now on these confirmations. they don't need bipartisan support for any of these nominees. so, really, the question is whether they are going to enter this process with an agenda of their own or whether they are going to defer to the president-elect which includes those cabinet picks who he has chosen to enact that agenda. they refuse to do the latter. they need to give republican voters a clear and concise reason why.

no more excuses here. the fact of the matter is trump has chosen these people for very specific reason. republican voters and voters across the political spectrum chose him for a specific reason. they can start their explanation wore why biden's cabinet nominees apparently deserved more support than trump. remember, with the exception of about a handful of senate republicans, nearly every single g.o.p.er who has served in that chamber supported at least half of biden's cabinet nominee. there was one senate republican, susan collins, who voted for every single biden cabinet nominee. so, if you were willing to give biden's cabinet nominees that support and one willing to give trump's the same, voters deserve an explanation as to why. >> joey: sign collins, murkowski, lindsey graham some of those that came out early. well, we are not sure about pete hegseth. and so, is there a little bit of strategy here for president trump to name these nominees so early, and to give -- i mean, pete was up there for three weeks on the hill. all these nominees were, meeting

with senators. every day would wrap with him saying there is positive momentum. do you think that that strategy will carry into the hearings or does it really come to try to get them to neutral and then when you get in the hearings win them over? >> there was certainly an element of momentum heading into new year and confirmation process. and i think what trump also understands is that the cabinet picks are bigger than just the nominees themselves. they're also about his mandate and his agenda. so let's start with the mandate. if the election results weren't enough to prove, this let's just consider the fact that a majority of americans approve of trump's current transition team, which includes the cabinet nominees. and then we have the agenda. and i believe that trump views this as a test for senate republicans because if congressional republicans can't get behind the very first and basic tank, which is settings him up for a very smooth transition and smooth beginning, how can we rely on them to do anything, you know, more important? many of the election issues that he campaigned on are going to require some sort of

>> i love that attitude. and president-elect trump did talk about decreasing the interest rates with credit cards to kind of help people get out of that debt. but you have some tips to help us clean up our finances. what are those? >> well, first, let's do an audit. let's come clean. no more hiding bills in your sock drawer and hope they go away. set specific goals for 2025. what i beaten by that i just want to pay down my debt. that's not going to work. i would like to reduce my credit card by a specific amount by the end of the year. that works better. start small. you know as well as i do. research shows that when consumers have these small little wins along the way. it's easier to win the war when you win lots of small battles reinforces good behavior. make a budget. when you hear the word budget, immediately think of spreadsheet or elaborate laid out page. it doesn't have to be. it can be in your head.
