gotta turn it. you got to turn. >> it doesn't look structurally sound here, tom. >> they can't help themselves. >> the fire starter. >> okay, cavemen. they built fires with nothing but their wits and their bare hands. >> progressive can't protect you from becoming your parents. but we can protect your home and auto when you bundle with us. >> can't watch this. the super bowl is coming to town. i came here to help you. this restaurant is festering. stop, stop, stop! i'm amazed you haven't killed anybody. >> kitchen nightmares premieres this tuesday, followed by doc on fox. >> thank you very much for watching jesse watters prime time i'm kayleigh mcenany. it's been a tough news cycle, and you can stay tuned to the fox news channel for all the updates on the attacks in new orleans, on the attacks in las vegas. have a good night.
11:01 pm
>> and welcome to this special breaking news edition of hannity. i'm tammy bruce in for sean. so tonight, terror in new orleans just after 3 a.m, an apparent islamic extremist named shamsudin jabar was behind the wheel of a white pickup truck loaded with weapons, potential explosives, explosives and festooned with an isis flag. when he drove around police barricades and onto bourbon street, where jabar rammed into a crowd of revelers celebrating the new year. after crashing, jabar then exchanged fire with police and was killed in the shootout, but not before he was able to murder at least 15 innocent people while injuring dozens of others, including two responding police officers. but according to the authorities, jabar did not act alone as police are now on the hunt for a range of suspects and are investigating multiple possible other explosive devices placed around new orleans. here now, with the very latest from new
11:02 pm
orleans, garrett tenney is with us. garrett. >> yeah, tammy, one of the top priorities for investigators right now is determining whether or not jabar acted alone in planning out or carrying out this attack, because if he didn't, that would mean there would still be the possibility of additional attacks like the one we saw this morning. one update we do have along those lines for in our reporting is that investigators had been looking at surveillance video from earlier that showed three men and one woman who appeared to be placing improvised explosive devices around the french quarter. we are now told sources, telling our own david spunt, that police interviewed those four individuals and now believe that they just were bystanders who happened to look suspicious. that being said, we do know bomb squads have searched the french quarter. it detonated multiple ieds that were left in the area. also
11:03 pm
right now in houston, houston, texas, just a few hours away, a swat team from the fbi and local police have surrounded a house on the north side of the city. we are told that house is in some way connected to this morning's terror attack, and that they are concerned there could be explosive devices inside that home. so police have been clearing out everyone who lives nearby before they move in. we know the 42 year old suspect lived in houston at some point, but again, not clear if this is his home or the home of someone else who is connected to him. we also want to show you this video showing the beginning of this attack, and it is hard to watch. you can see this white truck jumping a curb into a crowd of people on bourbon street, right in front of a police car that was blocking the entrance before taking off down the road, plowing through the crowds of people who were out celebrating. then this other video shows the moments right after the attack, looking down
11:04 pm
on bourbon street from a balcony where several lifeless bodies are laying in the road. people who were celebrating moments earlier are running around trying to figure out what to do. the death toll right now stands at 15 people, and more than 30 others were injured. and all day the coroner's office has had vans coming out of the scene, bringing those bodies out throughout the day. just this past hour, we saw them bring out the final of those bodies. this is still very much an active crime scene here. they are asking folks to stay away. again, as you mentioned, in part because of concerns there could be potentially additional ieds that were left in this area that police simply have not found yet. >> tami garrett, a horrible story. important details. we're going to get into all of that tonight. thank you very much for your reporting all night and all day today. still more questions, obviously, than answers. for more details from washington, let's now bring in david spunt. david.
11:05 pm
>> well, president biden not at the white house tonight. he's at the presidential retreat at camp david. but tammy, he has been receiving updates from the highest levels of law enforcement the fbi, doj, dhs and other intelligence agencies all day today, he gave an address to the american people from camp david just a few hours ago. watch. >> the fbi also reported to me that mere hours before the attack, he posted videos on social media indicating that he was inspired by isis expressing a desire to kill, a desire to kill the isis flag was found in his vehicle, which he rented to conduct this attack. >> that 42 year old suspect also served in the military, specifically in the u.s. army, even deploying to afghanistan for almost a year in 2009. authorities continue tammy to go through his social media and all known contacts, as they believe others are well aware of his plans in advance. now, meanwhile, the man who's moving into this white house behind me
11:06 pm
in less than three weeks, president elect donald trump, put out a statement on social media earlier today that reads in part as follows. our hearts are with all the innocent victims and their loved ones, including the brave officers of the new orleans police department. the trump administration will fully support the city of new orleans as they investigate and recover from this act of pure evil. the president elect in that statement also said that criminals coming in are far worse than the criminals we have in our country. end quote. now, after there was some earlier reporting, the suspect may have had a connection to the southern border. it turns out the truck, though, was spotted in eagle pass, texas, a border town, back in november, but with a different driver. but to be clear, this suspect was born in the united states. the president expected to come back. president biden expected to come back to the white house tomorrow to get more updates. it's possible he will speak again about this as more details are unveiled. >> tammy. all right, david, thank you very much. appreciate that. now. tonight authorities
11:07 pm
are also investigating another potential act of terror after a rented tesla cybertruck exploded in front of the trump hotel in las vegas. marianne rafferty is here with the latest details on that situation. marianne. yeah. good evening. tammy. just a few hours after that deadly terrorist attack in new orleans, the tesla cybertruck exploded and caught fire outside the trump towers in las vegas a short time ago. elon musk posting this on x. we have now confirmed that the explosion was caused by very large fireworks, or a bomb carried in the bed of the rented cybertruck, and is unrelated to the vehicle itself. all vehicle telemetry was positive at the time of the explosion. sheriff kevin mcmahill saying the truck exploded in front of the trump building just before 9:00 this morning, injuring seven people, reportedly minor injuries and killing the driver. mcmahill saying the tesla truck seemed to take the brunt of the blast, with the glass front doors of the building still intact. this new drone video revealing the
11:08 pm
evidence in the back of the truck. >> so those are gasoline canisters. they are camp fuel canisters and large firework mortars. video as you see that, it looks like the exterior of that truck is completely intact as it sits there. the fact that this was a cybertruck really limited the damage that occurred inside of the valet. >> law enforcement is investigating a number of leads, but have not identified the person who died inside the vehicle. sources telling fox news the vehicle was last seen on surveillance camera driving past the valet section of trump tower an hour prior to the incident, and then returning and stopping at those front doors. the vehicle was stopped for approximately 15 seconds prior to the explosion. president biden, addressing the nation earlier this evening, reiterating that the incident is being investigated at the highest levels. the investigation is ongoing and we do expect to learn more in the coming hours. tammy. all right, mary ann. yes. every every minute. there's something new.
11:09 pm
thank you for that. appreciate it. now let's head back to new orleans, where we are learning even more details about today's terrorist attack. joining us now is the governor of louisiana, governor jeff landry. sir, thank you very much for being with us. obviously, it's a horrible day for your state, for the country, and i appreciate you taking the time with us. you know, as we're all digesting this through the day, though, we've news keeps changing with what it is. we know what we don't know. but one thing you've done is declare it essentially a state of emergency. can you tell us what that does for you? what what it allows when it comes to response and even recovery, and your initial thoughts you want to share with the nation in the midst of this? >> yeah, i think first and foremost, we want to remember that there are families mourning out there. there are victims still fighting for their lives in hospitals in new orleans. we've got two brave police officers, one that i believe is going to be released
11:10 pm
tonight, and one that hopefully will be released tomorrow. those two officers not only put their life on the line, but certainly helped to eliminate and ensure the elimination of the threat, which could have been a lot worse. today we did sign an emergency declaration that helps us bring additional federal, state and local resources into the city. tonight, general friel brought an entire company of military police officers to aid our louisiana state police and the fbi in in securing the city. that's 100 military police officers that will be on the ground, in addition to sheriffs around the state who have offered deputies to come into the city to help us further secure the city so we can put the sugar bowl on tomorrow. >> yes. now, that is something people originally thought you could do it tonight, but clearly with the word that there perhaps were accomplices and unexploded or unfound ieds.
11:11 pm
but now some reports indicating that the people they thought were accomplices were not. can you tell us anything more about what you and your state law enforcement knows about the security? if there are more people being sought, if that was a mistake earlier on. when it comes to looking for others who were involved. >> well, you know, tammy, it is an ongoing investigation. i know that people are desperately trying to get answers. i try not to offer speculation. it's counterproductive to these types of investigations. i will tell you that i've been speaking on an hourly basis with the fbi, not only here in new orleans, but in washington, dc as well. they have been pouring resources into the city as we speak. more resources will be coming throughout the night and into the morning. those resources are twofold. one, to continue and complete this investigation as quickly as we can and get the public
11:12 pm
the answers that they're looking for. and two, to, again, secure the city as we put on a sugar bowl and notre dame and georgia play at 3:00 tomorrow. >> now can you tell me what now? what new security measures are you implementing for the sugar bowl that weren't already being planned? we know that there was an issue with blockades for bourbon street. one of the a lot of cameras there at bourbon street. i know that's going to help you, but that was an issue when you were repairing some. and we're getting the area ready for other, perhaps more permanent security efforts. so what are you doing that was not originally planned for the sugar bowl? >> well, i'd rather not get into specific details, but what i will tell you is that we're looking at increasing the footprint of certainly making expanding the road closures throughout the day tomorrow. look, i think it's important to remember that the only way to really protect people from evil is to crush it. and the one
11:13 pm
person who knows how to do that is the incoming president, donald trump. and i believe that his nominee, kristi noem, understands that as well. i look forward to inauguration day, so that we put in place policies where we're putting handcuffs on the bad guys instead of our law enforcement. so again, look, i think that i feel very good about the direction that this investigation is going. i appreciate the fbi and the resources that they're sending us. and we feel confident that we can put the game on tomorrow and get the city back up and running. >> well, we the nation is praying for you, for the people of new orleans, people of louisiana. and what you've touched on is that leadership makes the difference that americans look to leadership. we've already seen it from president trump. and yes, 19 days before we have this change. governor landry, good luck, and thank you very much for informing us here tonight. and again, prayers up for you and everyone there. all right. now for more reaction and analysis, former fbi special
11:14 pm
agent and fox news contributor nicole parker been doing a great job. she's everywhere today. fortunately for us, with great insight, along with israeli special operations veteran aaron cohen and former nypd inspector and fox news contributor paul mauro, also someone who we've been relying on a great deal here today. nicole, let me let me start with you. so we know that there is, of course, movement into louisiana, into new orleans. there seems to be, as we should expect with this, a little bit of contradictory information with now the news that that the supposed associates might have just been suspicious people. are you expecting this, in fact, to have a bigger footprint than just one lone wolf? or do you think that it's reasonable to think that it was just this one guy who was activated to do this particular act? >> tammy, that's a very great and important question. and obviously, right now with the reports, you know, we had an fbi assistant special agent in
11:15 pm
charge who got in front of the cameras earlier this afternoon in an official press conference and said that they do not believe that this individual is solely responsible for what occurred. again, we don't want to jump the gun and make accusations or draw conclusions. but i do believe that this was very well orchestrated. however, it was carried out very well orchestrated, and we are focused on what happened in new orleans, rightfully so. my condolences go out to the 15 victims and their families. >> we cannot forget them. but i think also this story out in las vegas, we can't, you know, forget that either. i don't think it's an odd coincidence that in two different locations, there were two cars that were rented out of state in both instances that were driven to a different state with explosions or, you know, wreaking havoc on, on, you know, society. and we again, i'm not saying that there is a definite link there, but it is important to note. but, tammy, one thing that i would like to bring up as a former fbi agent, i left the fbi. there seemed to be a lack of focus on what the
11:16 pm
fbi should be focused on. and there is, you know, information out on the internet that is discussing a diversity agent recruitment event that occurred july 17th in the new orleans fbi area. and that, you know, that's not very comforting to americans right now as we are looking at this massive terrorist attack that occurred. they're not saying that there's a direct link, but the fbi must be focused all hands on deck on the mission at hand. anything other than what the mission is, is a distraction, in my opinion. a diversity agent recruitment event is a distraction. i work the parkland school shooting similar incident. christopher wray was in the fbi miami division one week before the parkland school shooting. and then the day after the parkland school shooting, there was intelligence that said the fbi knew about that shooter. i would like to see the fbi focus all efforts on fighting crime and stopping terrorism and not focusing on diversity. it is a distraction, and it is dangerous to the american people. >> it does. it sends a message. excellent point. and paul, let me come to you, because we just talked a bit ago with governor
11:17 pm
landrieu about the issue of leadership and the signaling that happens. and you can see you can anticipate how perhaps the city is going to respond or not respond, or if leadership is weak or if people are going to be easily made even more afraid. so it comes down to the messaging of that, the presumption that cities or certain police departments or the fbi is not ready for this anymore, and that there isn't any leadership. you've been in new york during a number of issues. another episode, very similar to the west side highway incident in 2017, a truck mowing down dozens of people with an isis flag, a very similar footprint and messaging. what is your thought as we've now learned so much more through the day here today? >> well, one of the things we have to recognize is that at the end of the day, it very often comes down to the local police departments to secure events. while it's the remit of the federal government to collect information from the high side, classified side, push it down to those who need
11:18 pm
it, use the jttfs to inform those assets. at the end of the day, it's going to be uniformed cops who are out there, the mayors, the police chiefs who are going to be responsible for putting together the prophylactic measures. we need to keep things safe. now, the unfortunate news is that you can never make things 100% safe. even in the incident that you referenced, the saipov event on the new york city west side highway, saipov was going for the halloween parade. he couldn't get to it because of measures nypd had taken. he called an audible and went to the west side highway, and he wrought havoc there. he found a way to do it. but you do have to say to yourself, there should have been maybe some more cognizance here of the fact that the bollards were not in place, that this was going to be a very large event, the rose bowl is upcoming, etc. and i have to say, and look, you know, the blame game can come later. let's find out what happened now. but i have to say that press conference did not inspire confidence. the chief of police comes out, starts talking about fire is cleansing
11:19 pm
and all this other stuff. >> it's weird. >> this is not a time for poetry. this is a time for telling us, are the bad guys out there and are they going to be apprehended? >> you know, i have to say, aaron, the press conference out of las vegas was much more was very clear. they showed video of what was inside the tesla. there was there was, i think, blunt conversation about the nature of what had happened, but being clear about what they didn't know and what they wouldn't discuss. but at the same time here, you know, we've got like this strange. i don't i don't believe in coincidences. when you talk about complex a criminal criminality here. truro was where both of these individuals, or at least both of these trucks were rented. that is like an airbnb in a way for car rental. it's a peer to peer rental framework to where you're taking someone else's car and then bringing it back are things like that. when i think of the al qaeda magazine that used to exist, where you
11:20 pm
could have instructions that go out to a variety of people, does this sound like perhaps the kind of things that would make terrorist attacks work in this new year? >> well, tammy, it appears to have worked here. and the fact that that a lone wolf terrorist who's clearly connected to isis was able to two weeks after the magdeburg car ramming terror attack, take a vehicle, drive it through a giant terror, or through a giant new year's event in new orleans on bourbon street and run down and kill 15 people with a stolen ar type of weapon. i believe it was a 308 and a stolen glock. leads me to believe here that we have multi failures in our counterterrorist capabilities. and i want to point out what nicole said. there's a serious problem. clearly that hasn't just affected the secret service. it's affected the fbi as well because nobody got in front of this terror attack. two there's no intelligence
11:21 pm
sharing. three where were the bollards? i think now is the time to point our finger, because we have a serious problem in this country where an individual can go rogue, become radicalized, and nobody in the federal government knows anything about this guy. nobody knew that he had stolen weapons, and nobody knew that he was on his way to go commit an act of terror. so that's a multi failure terror attack. and we need to start getting in front of these. we need to start being proactive. and it's time to stop messing around because those are real humans who were killed. those are real stories. >> yeah. >> this has to get in front of this. again. >> this has been predicted. obviously the hundreds of the terrorists, you know, known terrorists or suspected terrorists on the watch list into the country, millions of others who are unknown might not be on anybody's list. that's right. this is this is, in a way, inevitable. thank goodness things will change in 19 days. and even now, with trump's leadership, it's got to start happening. everyone,

11:26 pm
yours today@talkline.com. >> welcome back to hannity on truth social. president elect donald trump called today's terrorist attack in new orleans, quote, an act of pure evil. the perpetrator was a us citizen from texas. but according to outgoing fbi director, the threat from terrorism across the country is nearing an all time high, in part because of biden's border crisis. joining us now with more on how to improve our national security. there's so much incoming czar tom zar zar
11:27 pm
in general. tom i'll make you the czar of everything. tom homan is with us. you know, it's you know, you've got a lot on your plate. everyone we know is praying for new orleans. they're praying for you, president trump, everyone coming in, marco rubio. it's a whole team of people who now are going to have this country's back, thank god. but when you see this and biden's statement three minutes long, not really encouraging, a very strange kind of statements about, you know, who he was and that he was an american like that, it's very strange because now we have millions of people. we don't know who they are, hundreds of people. regarding the terrorist watch list, people who are dangerous, who are roaming about. what do you think this says? is this going to be a normal occurrence, or is this just the burst of a couple of rogue terrorists or coincidences? what's your take so far today? >> no more is coming.
11:28 pm
>> i think both of these incidents, las vegas and new orleans, they're both they're both going to be us citizens. they're both going to have recent foreign travel. they're both were on a suicide mission. >> neither one thought they're going to go home. and i think you're going to see isis, isil, isis affiliation on both of them. but, you know, the president bragged today, you know, this is us citizen america. he shouldn't hang his hat on that, because let's remember, just a couple of months ago, we arrested eight people from tajikistan in new york city, philadelphia and la that were planning a terrorist type event, a russian type terrorist event here in the united states. luckily, the intel community caught them before they did it. and let's remember, we got over 2 million gotaways known gotaways on our southern border. border patrol has arrested people from 180 countries. many of these countries sponsored terror. they've arrested over 300 people on the terrorist watch list. under trump, we had 14. so i want to hang his hat on. you know, these attacks being done by us citizens, it's coming. even christopher wray, who i have very little respect in it, says the southern border is the biggest national
11:29 pm
security vulnerability he's ever seen. >> you know, also just the fact that the inspiration of it. right. i think that was the al qaeda magazine name. right, is that it's an inspiration for people. and when, you know, just the fact that there seems to be no one at home, no matter who you are or where you're coming in from, it inspires the bad actors. it's like, if you want to get something done now, this is the time to do it, because no one's at home. and you know, trump is coming in 19 days. and that seems to be something that people, the bad guys are concerned about as they should be. >> well, look, they've been embolden. look what look what this administration has done. first of all, they relaxed the sanctions against iran, gave them billions of more dollars. they can fund terrorism. well, you know, you see you see marches down new york city, the streets of new york city, on our college campuses, or people carrying isis flags and asking for the death of america. and we allow this stuff to happen. this administration has taken a weak stance on this stuff. and
11:30 pm
the southern border i mentioned again, where, you know, tomorrow, i guarantee you this week they're going to continue to release thousands of people from the southern border, either through the cbp, one app, or they're going to fly them in from cuba, nicaragua, venezuela and haiti through it to the to the cmv program, to our to our airports. and border patrol is going to release thousands of more. nothing is going to change. the more this administration is not taking action against the criminal cartels or terrorist organizations or trying to secure our southern border. you can't have national security if you don't have border security. i don't know the i don't understand why they don't get that. >> i mean, it's common sense, you know, and this is people are thinking about, you know, the nature of who comes across the border, as you've mentioned. you know, there's dozens of other countries other than mexicans, the otms, as they call them, from china, from tajikistan. right, cuba. and we're flying them in. it's a remarkable statement without any vetting at this point. it's an it's almost like a
11:31 pm
deliberate unforced error like you you want this dynamic in here and it's frightening. what will be some of the first day. we always wonder what the president trump will do on his first day for you. what is your first day agenda? what are the first things you need to get rid of and do? like the app and dealing with some of the elements with the border. what's on your first day agenda? first week. first day? >> well, i think number day one president trump is going to secure the border. i think at the same time he secured a border. and we're going to do that by, you know, by ending these ridiculous programs, you need to end cmv. you need to end the cbp, cbp, one app, the way it's being used now, and catch and release. if you're if you cross the border illegally, you're going to be detained. either that or removed. the law is clear. if you enter this country without proper documentation, you shall be detained. that's what the statute says. you shall be detained. not maybe not. think about it. let's release you. you shall be detained. and that's what the trump administration will do. president trump is committed to
11:32 pm
that. we're going to start the biggest deportation operation i've ever seen. we're right out of the gate. we're going to concentrate on public safety threats and national security threats. that's why i get angry when i see governors and mayors saying they're going to try to prevent this from happening, especially after today. what governor mayor wants to stand in the way of removing public safety threats from their community? >> yeah, i mean, that's it. it is their own constituents using them like pawns in an environment that ruins everyone's lives, this kind of crime. nobody knew who all these people injured in the 15 murdered. you know, we don't care about their political party. we don't care about whether they're black or white or gay or straight. they're americans, or perhaps they're visitors. they're people having a good time. it transcends all of that. and that's i know what you're focused on, what president trump is focused on as well. the 20th, sir, can't come soon enough. thanks for joining me tonight. prayers up for you and everyone. now for more reaction, let's turn to former acting dhs secretary
11:33 pm
chad wolf, another man who has been in the front line, who understands the nature of this. really, it's dangerous enough, chad. the america that we are a free country, people can come in and visit us, and some people are just, you know, mass murderers or the human condition. and then we've, like, poured gasoline. the biden administration has poured gasoline on this fire in this world, on our country. what is your when you see these two separate events, the tesla truck in vegas, the situation in new orleans we had a few weeks ago, the car ramming attack at a christmas market in germany. we know that, you know, there's attacks going on in all over europe. what do you see now for the next 19, 20 days? is this the beginning of something more, or is and is? do we just have to wait it out until trump becomes president?
11:34 pm
>> well, thanks for having me. look, i don't think this is the beginning nor the end. >> we're in the middle of it, and we just go back to certain statements made by security officials, including the fbi director, who talks about a heightened sense of a threat environment that we have been in now for well over a year. >> and yet, the biden administration is not rolling out any new security measures, as tom just indicated, their posture along that southern border remains the same. they do not change course, knowing that threats continue to come across that border each and every day. and while you know, the new orleans perpetrator may have been a united states citizen, we don't know what kind of help he had. they're still looking for other suspects, whether they came across the border or into the country illegally in some manner is still yet to be determined. so i think all of this is very concerning, because the american people, i don't think, are being told the truth by their federal government of we've got a heightened security environment, threat environment, and we're just not taking the security precautions
11:35 pm
that we need to be. >> you know, the first statement, one of the first statements from the fbi in new orleans this morning, as we've all heard in to have talked about, is that it was a statement, a determined statement, definitive. it was not terrorism. now, you can't know that. but but what's interesting now, as the day has gone on, we know that they saw the isis flag. and so you had the mayor at least being transparent, saying, yeah, it was terrorism. but you can draw that conclusion based on the style of the attack. and frankly, right, the isis battle flag. so what it seemed to me with the fbi, like with the fort hood dynamic, that, as i'd mentioned earlier, that they tried to characterize as workplace violence. that's what obama tried to do. are we still clearly we seem to still be in that mode, that their initial reaction was to deny that this was what it what it was? >> yeah, that that initial reaction obviously is wrong. it's baffling to me that any

member of the fbi would come out and say such a thing, when clearly that's not true. and obviously it erodes support from the american people who are already skeptical of the fbi. and they should be because of statements like this and others that they have made in the past as well. look, this also points to another. obviously, there's some issue that we have at the department of defense. we now have a couple of decades of experience where you have army soldiers here committing, becoming radicalized and committing these type of terror attacks, and they don't seem to be focused on it. and you have to ask the question because in in 2021, the dod went after white supremacists inside the department of defense. have they taken their eye off the ball? and i think you have to answer yes in this in this case. >> yeah. great point on so many social issues seem to be obsessing the military. and now we've got we still are dealing with the nature of who is coming out of the military and their attitudes. and if they've been radicalized. thank you so much for joining me, sir. i appreciate it. now, coming up,

11:42 pm
senator bill cassidy. so, you know, we spoke. thanks for joining me, sir. we spoke with the governor. i broached this a little bit, but it seems that, you know, some of the most for americans watching this, there's a very basic kind of thing that you would have up. and yet we were also focused on new year's eve in new york. i've argued for quite some time that we get a tunnel vision, thinking that new york is the only target, whereas in fact, every great american city, every walk of life in this country needs to be where. what are your thoughts after a day like today? >> you nailed it. people say, oh my gosh, the super bowl is going to be in new orleans. i tell them, it doesn't matter what city the super bowl is in. you got a lot of soft targets and it's going to be relatively easy for someone who's motivated and creative to hit those. new york, of course, after nine over 11, they're so aware of it. but other cities, perhaps not so much. and so you
11:43 pm
just assume you block the street and people won't drive on the sidewalk. turns out wrong assumption. that's what the guy did. that's that's how the guy killed 15 people now. but you nailed it. it's every city that has that that should have that concern now, you know, and just i think a few weeks before, if not a month, maybe november, but there was a shooting at at a parade in new orleans that, that the new orleans pd and the state, the city, they understand there's been a violence issue. >> so this wasn't in a way out of the blue. it and that's i think what breaks the heart. you know, new orleans people love new orleans. it's a it's a special city for americans and for people around the world. the video that we've been seeing, a woman standing in shock, video from a balcony, and she's standing in shock over what would appear to be a body that we have a blanked out, but the lives ruined, the lives ended, the lives ruined. that will never be the same. it's the kind of thing that
11:44 pm
isis and al qaeda thrive on and thirst for. and we've we should be able to protect, you know, soft targets or do we do worry also about we want to be a free country and we don't want to, you know, ruin people's fun. and then we've got the sugar bowl tomorrow. what are your thoughts about the degree of security that should be there? >> first, let me start where you started. i think you're absolutely right. the any time there is a street festival in a city, you're going to have soft targets. anytime you have large groups of people kind of crossing from one side to the other. i'm in washington, d.c. one day and they're having a parade july 4th, a few years ago or something like that. and there was just people lining the streets. someone highly motivated could have come in and caused damage. now, by the way, d.c. has closed circuit tv all over the place. the police would be right there, but there are 300 police officers in the french quarter last night. yes,
11:45 pm
true and highly motivated creative person. couldn't stop that. now, that said and again, you nailed it to in a free society and a free society, we give up a little bit of security because otherwise, i mean, who wants to go from one checkpoint to the other? but every now and then you pay the price for that freedom. and, you know, qaeda hates our freedom and the and the inspiration that comes from the defund the police movement, the demonizing of law enforcement, the lack of leadership at the federal level, the open border, whether you're coming across the border or not. >> there's so many messages that america doesn't care about itself. and, you know, just like in new york, yes, the police are everywhere. but we've had a guy pushed under a train just yesterday, a woman set on fire in the subway. there's messaging, it seems, sir, for people who are ready to tip over, you know, the assassination attempts on president trump that do it because nobody cares. won't
11:46 pm
leadership make a difference here? >> it will. by the way. way back when there was a an essay or a study of broken windows theory. right. and it found that if you tolerated little crimes, you ended up with big crimes that followed. if you didn't tolerate the little crimes, the big crimes didn't come as much. so if you tolerate a little graffiti, you get a lot of graffiti. if you're arrested, as soon as it comes up, you stop getting graffiti. yeah. so the point being, leadership needs to say that we're not going to tolerate the crime that the soft on crime. district attorneys, wherever you are, need to be replaced. the blue states, the blue cities that have been soft on crime, they're paying the price. and i think we're getting bigger crimes because of this. i can't say this wouldn't have happened. sure. this guy was, you know, very activated by by isis, apparently. sure. but a lot of our other crime problems can end. >> yeah, indeed. a lot of work to do. but we are ready to get going on that. sir, thank you

chanley painter, live in new york. gunshots ringing out late wednesday at a venue in queens. the nypd say at least ten people were injured outside the nightclub. they say 3 to 4 males opened fire about 30 times towards a group of people waiting outside. six women and four men were struck. their ages range from approximately 16 to 20. the victims are all being treated at area hospitals but are expected to survive.
11:52 pm
the gunmen were seen fleeing the scene in a light colored car without with out of state plates. police have not disclosed a possible motive, but stressed this was not a terrorist attack. once again, ten people were shot late last night outside a club in queens. none of them suffered life threatening injuries. stay with fox news channel for more on on this developing story. now back to programing. already in progress. >> an open border where you allow millions of people in for years to come across, largely unvetted and dispersed into the shadows. our whole country is a soft target. when you allow people to go into the streets of new york. hours after a terrorist attack and preach about a global intifada revolution. talk about a soft target. we've opened ourselves up for this, and i hope this is a giant wake up call. january 20th is coming, but i fear for our nation and we better get back on track, you know? >> and thank goodness, the american people, we kind of saw that what was happening. we understand this is a risk for an open society. and tommy, as
11:53 pm
you've said, there's no leadership. sarah, you're always focused on the border. we see this as a core, a core point about our security. but this guy is an american citizen, right? this is about radicalization in every aspect of our of our country and our infrastructure. >> yeah, absolutely, tammy. and we shouldn't feel secure. >> i have to agree with tommy because we are a soft target. >> our entire nation is i mean, i've been covering the border for more than 20 years. i spent a good portion of that overseas in the war zones in iraq, covering islamic state, as well as covering the taliban and al qaeda in afghanistan. that's where i spent a lot of my time. on top of covering the nexus between the narco terrorists. and we are a soft target. i think a lot of times we just become very at ease. we forget that they are out there, that we have an enemy that is willing to target us, and we have an fbi that has not been up to par, that has not done its job. we've failed to share information between our
11:54 pm
bureaucracies and between our agencies, and we've missed many, many points that could have led to the capture of these people before they conducted their attack. i mean, nidal hasan was a perfect example of that. he was, you know, in the u.s. army 2009, he was radicalized. he was a therapist. he comes in to the center and begins to shoot people at fort hood, 13 people dead, dozens more wounded. this is the same situation here. and we've seen this over and over again. i think, you know, january 20th can't come soon enough that i agree with. but we have to realize that we're all a part of this and we have to remain vigilant. >> yes we do. charlie hurt your thoughts, sir? >> well, i agree with all of that, you know, and it's, you know, most i think it's kind of interesting to listen to some of these officials try to bandy about the fact that this perpetrator of this terrorist attack is an american citizen, and somehow that makes it different. i don't think that
11:55 pm
it if anything, if you ask me, it makes it worse. i think that it reveals just how pernicious this evil ideology is, that he and a lot of other people hold. and, you know, their number one target is the united states of america, as you point out, tammy, because we are an open society, because we are a society that values freedom and believes in the goodness of people and the ability to sort of operate in and tolerate one another and have differences and work through them. but this ideology is so evil and so demented, and it's so at crosswise from everything we believe as a country. and the idea that this guy could have lived his entire life in america and then served 20 years in the military, and we didn't ever figure out that this guy was a ticking time bomb. yeah. and that this guy was plotting something like this. and then. and then you have a president of the united

states and the fbi that repeatedly talks about how the biggest threat, terrorist threat to america is white supremacy. it's like, well, no wonder this happened. >> yeah. you know, we got to go. but i just remember donald trump wiped out isis. and here they are again. all of you. thank you so much for joining me tonight. more hannity after the break. stay with me. >> procrastination has been my biggest enemy. i felt completely helpless to it. now with thesis, it's this perfect mix of an increased energy, a deep tunnel focus. if you want to get stuff done, you need to try thesis. >> i'm sorry to bother you, but i have 30s to give you a very important message. my name is arthur lee. i'm the ceo inventor of lifevac, a simple choking rescue device that could save a life in a choking emergency. we've saved over 3000 lives now, but we're not there. 5000 people a year choked to death. one child every five days. please
