3:17 am
have and we all need answered and we need them answered sooner rather than later. >> sandra: sounds like you are awaiting some of those answers as you await contact with some of those federal authorities in charge and we hope to get answers in the next couple of hours as well. madam attorney general, thank you for joining us. >> lawrence: thank you. >> thank you for having me this morning. >> sandra: hard to believe there are so many details left out so far that she is still waiting on that she hasn't been privy to. coordination is a big deal when it comes to a investigation this large. >> lawrence: i'm left stunned in morning this the attorney general the chief law enforcement officer of the state can't get clear and concise communication about known suspects in an investigation you got bolos put out when people are known to be involved and she didn't have that information because the fbi is in charge of this investigation. and if she doesn't know how can you say that people are safe.

who he cyber truck actually contained the explosion and directed the blast upwards. also noting that even the glass doors of the lobby of that trump international hotel in las vegas weren't even broken, guys. >> griff: all right, chanly painter, thank you very much. there is a lot there and interesting elon musk is weighing in. but when they try and put these things together, and you sort of learn what the counter-terrorism experts categorize these events as like directed, meaning a hand-on sort of thing or enabled, meaning assisted or simply inspired, which is your third category of sort of radicalized is it possible that these two individuals were inspired in some way and carried it out independent of each other? we just don't know. and it's raising a lot of questions. >> lawrence: what concerns me is when i talk to my friends that are within the national security space they say we are not fowcketsing enough time, money,
3:21 am
and energy to look at this type of stuff. that the further away that we as griff noted earlier that we got from 9/11 that, we are focused on other programs. and i think that is a travesty in the making. of course, the fbi director has said about the lights being flashing. the question is with were the resources be given to the that chatter they were seeing online? i reported on some of these events when there was a terror attack. and later we hear from the fbi that they are -- there was some information, but they didn't follow through or if there was a school shooting. there was some information but the dots weren't connected. the question is is the same for this case as well. >> you mentioned the explosion and elon musk weighing in himself on this and see the explosion, he was noting the explosion went up and giving a lot of credit to the way that the cyber truck is built and the heartiness of it i believe bullet proof, bomb proof. he claims it to be and he says that the explosion went more up rather than out and potentially
3:22 am
prevented further disaster from that explosion. >> griff: you know, the obvious thing that people see is this is a tesla that created by elon musk. parked in front of a trump hotel owned by the incoming president and so, you wonder whether or not this was perhaps less of an attack like the one we saw in new orleans and more of a statement of sorts. we'll find out what investigators. >> lawrence: we're following it. >> griff: meanwhile, a fox news alert. our other top story we are learning more about the suspect in the deadly new orleans terror attack. what clues recovered around his truck tell us about his background? that's next. ♪ ♪

about las vegas and new orleans, i think you have two u.s. citizens with prior military experience. i think you will find they both have recent and foreign travel. they were both inspired by isis and both on a suicide mission. both of these incidents these men knew they weren't going home. this is just another danger this country faces because this country has been lax on national security and groups like this have been emboldened. when you have protesters walking down the streets of new york city carrying terrorist flags, chanting death to israel and death to the united states and nothing is being done about it and when you have a border that was secure under president trump and this administration unsecured it on purpose. it's an open invitation for those around the world hate this country. >> griff: to put in perspective what you are inherenting under the first trump administration, there were 11 individuals that hit the terrorist screening data set harris 388.

some of these countries are sponsors of terror. we arrested over 300. how many came from state sponsored country of terror? if you think nothing. i think terrorists have crossed this border under biden. i don't know how many. some day we are going to find out and a bad day for america. >> griff: doesn't even include the known got-aways. real quickly. it was just months ago i was in ha couple ba, california out in the san diego sector interviewing people as they crossed illegally and released from syria, libya, afghanistan, you name it. are you being read in or do you have confidence you will be read in to just how significant the potential terror threat is as a result of those that have been let into the country? >> i got no confidence this administration is going to be honest and read us in. they have been lying about this from day one. lying every day from the white house podium about the border being secured. i'm grateful president trump got reelected. president trump is going to come in office and secure that
