the items were ieds. he placed them. there was not another suspect that placed of these. there were folks enjoying the evening that stopped to look at some of these things, that spotted the cooler but then continued on their way. the fbi would still like to speak with people in the french quarter in those late night and early morning hours. anyone who interacted with him and who may have seen something that could be helpful to their investigation. paul, you have been with us throughout the day yesterday and today. some clarity as to where this investigation is heading. >> this is the stuff we speculated about. it didn't seem like the information relative to accomplices was very hard and that has gone away completely. they seem to have gotten their act together regarding the messaging. this was a better press conference. you had the governor they are

them. >> of the videos he made on the way to the attack scene are almost a hallmark we have seen in prior attacks. >> the digital footprint is really important because that is where he was telegraphing his radicalization. this is where we see though he may not have been directed by isis, clearly he was inspired by isis, just this tactic, using a vehicle to maximize death, and then stepping out and beginning to shoot innocent bystanders to have death by cop. we saw that in spain, france, germany, england, this is quintessentially and isis tactic. >> if investigators missed red flags, that is something investigators will have to get to the bottom of. >> it is becoming more and more

"the wall street journal" talks about not just the two divorces but his financial troubles, his emotional vulnerability. you have to consider that. if someone is going to be open to being radicalized or inspired by isis, we will find that out in the days to come, but he put in a document he was about
