10:13 am
explosion. inside was the driver, the sole occupant and later investigators discovered gasoline canisters and large firework mortars. the driver died but seven innocent bystanders were hurt. however, the local sheriff in nevada staying the explosion could have been far more devastating. >> the fact that this was a cybertruck really limited the damage that occurred inside of the valet because it had most of the blast go up through the truck and out. in fact if you look in the window, the front blast doors at the trump hotel were not even rocked by that blast. >> so far investigators haven't officially released the name of the suspect involved, but they do believe he acted alone. we are hoping to learn a little bit more as police are set to give a new update at the top of the hour. >> bill: will be keeping tabs on that, jeff paul live in vegas, thank you.

there partying out. yesterday the fbi was saying we are looking for potential accomplices, they had people on video they thought were helping them, they have reversed that today and said they're not looking for anybody else but like you said, you take a look at those cameras, it is a ghost town down there. a lot of people still apprehensive, rightfully so, wasn't just the truck going down the street, he also put a couple ieds in coolers on the street, people very under steadily scared out there. >> sandra: the corner of bourbon street and canal right there. we will keep an eye on that at any development as we get closer to kickoff, bill. all right, now this. >> whether you no jabbar personally, worked with him, served in the military, or saw him in new orleans or texas, we need to talk to you. >> sandra: investigators digging into the new orleans terror suspects background. what we are now learning. that is next.

coincidence or a link there? >> it is good to see the fbi has brought out the a-team here in handling the coordination of these two attacks, and yeah, there is enough, they are keeping an open mind, you can tell that. there are some commonalities, as you know, the car-rental site, these two may have served, one active-duty green beret, the other, jabbar separated from the military and had some personal problems but they serve the same military base, fort bragg in north carolina, what used to be known as fort bragg in north carolina. i think it is an open question. there is symbolism to both targets. both of them are sort of perceived to be las vegas and new orleans, sort of the hedonistic decadent systems of the united states from a jihadist perspective. test law and trump towers,

10:24 am
laptops are obviously going to have passwords on them, might be encrypted in some way. how do you get into those and what are you looking for? >> right, electronic evidence like that is crucial. what's on the device itself is very important. what is stored in the cloud is accessible via subpoena search warrant, and/or search warrant, but it is really important to get into the devices themselves because texts are not stored, for example, there is a lot of different types of apps and communication apps and social media apps and that sort of thing that do not store the information in the cloud, so it exists only on the device, so there are ways to crack into those. we are a lot better off than we were several years ago when it comes to iphones. there is some brute force pass code cracking apps that take a little bit of time but eventually you will get in. there are operational technology division at the fbi is good at this. so i don't expect to see as many obstacles and as much time as

got dropped somewhere. >> yeah, it certainly does, and it sort of highlights some of these broader points as to what the fbi's priorities are. they will always tell you it's terrorists and christopher wray testified about that, but what they have actually been doing and what have they been focusing on for the last four years under the biden administration, it is school parents at school board meetings. it's the people going -- every last person in the capitol on january 6th. they have a wide open border and i wish chris wray was more strong on the border because we have had four years of alejandro mayorkas a civilly operating our border as a way to facilitate massive migrant groups coming into this country under the guise of asylum, knowing they are not truly asylum-seekers, and you report on this probably better than anyone, so all of these inks show our government is not focusing on safety, they are focused on so many other issues, which is a great concern because when you see something like this

isis was essentially defeated militarily, but we are fighting out now, obviously it is kind of hard to defeat an ideology that can just spread its tentacles all over the internet. >> exactly, and i think secretary pompeo makes a great point. no one will even say radical islamic terrorism and you look at what joe biden said which is pretty striking, if you were to watch this from another planet you would think the real issue was that he was an american citizen and had served in the military. there is nothing about radical islamic terrorism. they said something about isis. it really isn't reassuring to the extent our government seems to be taking this particularly seriously and just going back last week when they entered into the plea deals or the plea deals were entered into with the 9/11 mastermind who is now going to get a more lenient sentence because of the biden administration is just indicative of how this administration treats terrorism and treats public safety and we are really reaping the consequences and we may for years and decades to come
