11:00 pm
and tonight, for all that we have seen and have heard for the city and indeed for the nation, they've endured so much. kaylee. but one thing remains the same love overcomes evil. and it's my fervent wish, and i'm sure i speak for all americans that love washes over the families impacted abundantly. and the same can be said for the survivors, some of whom unfortunately have a very long road ahead to recovery. and we want to also say thanks to law enforcement for saving the lives of so many. kaylee. >> kevin corke so tragic and beautiful words there at the end. thank you so much, kevin. you bet. we are praying for all the victims families. and i heard that reporting about a single mom, a boy four years old, without his mom because of that horrific attack and our prayers this evening. >> welcome to this special edition of hannity.
11:01 pm
>> i'm jason chaffetz in for sean. >> and tonight americans are on edge and security is tight. >> after 14 innocent americans celebrating the new year in new orleans were brutally murdered by an islamic extremist inspired by isis. >> sadly, this wasn't the only act of terror in the new year. >> across the country, in las vegas, an individual apparently blew himself up in a tesla cybertruck parked in front of the city's trump hotel. now, as strange new details emerge from this explosion, americans are left with more questions than answers. we'll bring you a full report on that in just a moment. but first, joining us now with more from new orleans, fox news contributor ted williams is with us. ted, what's the latest on the ground? >> the latest jason on the ground is america. that new orleans is back or jason, i came to this town a few nights
11:02 pm
ago and it seemed like a very demoralized town. and that is what that terrorist jamal wanted. but if he was alive tonight, he would be astonished because new orleans is back. they just had the super bowl or the sugar bowl. here i stand to be corrected. and i got to tell you that georgia, the dawgs lost. but i got to tell you, when you look out here it is vibrant. it is alive. and i'm just happy that this town is back. >> ted, i wasn't really inspired by the police chief. she didn't exactly exude confidence when she talked about the ballads that she didn't realize that they had were now going to go up to help protect the sidewalks. i just still not understanding. and it's fresh and it's new. i understand that, but i just don't understand why there wasn't this need or this urgency to protect the french
11:03 pm
quarter going into such a big game like the sugar bowl. >> well, i got to tell you, they were mistakes made. the chief of police and other local officials have made it very clear that there were mistakes made, especially when you look at the barriers or the barriers were being repaired for the super bowl. but what they did was to park or patrol cars in the place of those barriers, but they didn't have the patrol cars on the sidewalk. and as a result of that, this killer, this terrorist got around the barriers onto the sidewalk and wound up killing 14 wonderful people here in the city of new orleans. >> the people you talk about, the resilience of the people of new orleans and louisiana and all the people that are
11:04 pm
visiting there. what is the mood like? are they there but enjoying themselves, but at the same time struggling with the, you know, looking over their shoulder? what what's the sense or the mood that you're getting there in new orleans? >> you know, jason, they are alive and they are well, they're not really looking over their shoulder. they are very much in a celebratory mood here. i think they are also respectful of the fact that several nights ago, we lost 14 wonderful souls in this city. but as the mayor said, you cannot live in fear. and this is what mayor landrieu said at a press conference this afternoon. and once they found out that they were not accomplices out here, because we had initially been told that they were looking for other people. once that was found out that they were not accomplices, this town lit up like a light bulb. and people are out here
11:05 pm
celebrating in this city. >> well that's good. they had a successful sugar bowl. notre dame prevailed. but ted, thank you for joining us on the ground there in new orleans. all right. joining us now from the west coast christina coleman is here with the latest puzzling new details out of las vegas. christina. >> hi, jason. authorities identified the suspect in this case as 37 year old matthew berger of colorado springs. they say he was a highly decorated army soldier, most recently a green beret who was on leave from germany. they believe he was the lone driver of the tesla cybertruck that you see here, exploding wednesday morning outside of the trump international hotel in las vegas. authorities believe berger shot himself in the head while in the vehicle before the explosion. investigators say they found a lot of evidence in the cybertruck, including a military id, a passport, multiple guns and materials they believe were intended to fuel a larger explosion. seven
11:06 pm
people suffered minor injuries from the incident. authorities say it could have been worse if the steel sided vehicle didn't absorb a lot of the force from the blast. also, there are some similarities between the terror attack in new orleans and the cybertruck explosion. the suspects in both incidents served time in the army. they were in afghanistan in 2009, though there's no indication they interacted with each other during that time. also, during wednesday's deadly incidents, they both used vehicles that they rented through the turo car rental app. authorities say there is no connection between the two cases, but they're not ruling anything out just yet. they still have a lot of investigative work to do. jason. >> christina. thank you. all right. the big question tonight, as these investigations unfold, can the american people trust the fbi and the department of justice to be transparent and honest with the american people? under the biden administration? the answer probably no. we've been lied to about the border,
11:07 pm
afghanistan, inflation, the chinese spy balloon hunter's laptop, russia collusion, violent crime, biden's obvious cognitive decline. and last month, the white house, white house told us not to believe our lying eyes as drones swarmed over new jersey. so how can the americans get the truth out of a government that continues to mislead the american people? joining us now for reaction, former fbi special agent and fox news contributor nicole parker, former nypd inspector and fox news contributor paul mauro, and the executive director for right on crime and former u.s. attorney brett tolman. thanks for being with us. nicole, i want to go to you first, because if you continue to mislead the american people, then when you actually go to say something, you really do wonder if they're really telling us the truth, particularly about the border. they kept saying it was secure. they had operational control, but they don't. and so when they come out and they say it
11:08 pm
wasn't terrorism, then it was terrorism then. well, they have accomplices then. they don't have accomplices. now. i know it's a moving target. i know they want to provide the best information, but their starting point was it wasn't terrorism. but you had, you know, at that point, ten dead and 30 people in the hospital. shouldn't this starting point be? this is probably terrorism and they will walk it back if we need to. >> jason, i agree with you completely. and i heard that press conference, and i was absolutely astonished when i heard the, you know, police head of police for new orleans say, you know, this is an act of terrorism. and then we hear the mayor say it's terrorism. and then the assistant special agent in charge, aletha alethea duncan, gets out there and says, this is not terrorism. with such a definitive statement. and that absolutely was incorrect. bad information. and the problem that you have is that the fbi already has a trust issue with the american people, because i would say most of the country does not trust the fbi. and when you are
11:09 pm
starting from a point in a press conference where you are giving out blatantly false information, then it starts from a very bad point where americans, you know, they don't trust you to begin with and that you instill no confidence when you make a statement like that. as you notice, the fbi sent the deputy director of counterterrorism down from headquarters and made sure that he stepped in for this press conference today to pretty much straighten things out and to get things back on track. >> yeah. after, you know, we got to give them 24 hours to wake up and say, hey, it's time to actually not be on vacation in perpetuity. paul. look, the nypd probably does it as well as anybody. those guys are pros. they know how to get stuff done. and i have confidence that if they're allowed to do their job, they can do their job. but the federal government has been out here telling us car ramming is an issue. be prepared for it. new orleans was not prepared for it. they have been out there telling us that these lone wolves were potentially do something. you got to pay attention to them. well, i don't know that we necessarily
11:10 pm
did do that. and so what's going on here? you have an incident that happens in vegas hours after it happens in atlanta and then in virginia. earlier, you had a house with 150 plus ieds. at least that's the allegation against the suspect in virginia. so draw that together for us. what's happening and what can the average person do about it? >> so i'm going to go back to a line that i've been overusing, which is that the further we get from nine over 11, the closer we get to nine over ten. and while the public has that luxury and should have that luxury, this is not something that should be on the mind of public, the public at all times. >> you have to live their lives. >> we all have to go about our lives. the people who engage in this work have this stuff on their minds at all times, but they have to be allowed to pursue it. and as you articulate, does it not feel like the fbi is really lost its way regarding mission here we are being told by chris wray that things have never been hotter. we have all of these problems and that there's all
11:11 pm
kinds of chatter. and yet does anybody see any prophylactic measures that will put in place in response? was anything done relative to the border? >> was anything done? >> let's take it on the ground level. what about all the occupying of the campuses by people who are openly flying hamas and hezbollah flags? if you don't think our foreign adversaries see that and think, okay, there are some useful idiots that i can tap into to potentially help me gain intel and maybe do something further on the ground, then you don't know this work and yet no arrests, no federal pressure from above, even trend de aragua. >> they've been on the radar screen now a couple of years. >> only recently did we get one federal case. i don't know what their priorities are, and i really feel like the response here, the reflexive response of no terrorism, nothing to see here, is really very telling. >> well, and that was supposed to be the lesson of nine over 11. you got to think creatively. you have to think like a terrorist would be, and not just be an idiot and react afterwards. you got to prepare
11:12 pm
for the creativity that a terrorist might bring to it. and that brett tolman brings me to you because you're a u.s. attorney. you worked in the senate judiciary committee. look, there is a concern about some of the parallels that within these cases, in the radicalization of some people in our military, the insider threat is a real threat. i can tell you that. i went on the uss eisenhower. i was honored to be there for two days. i spent the night, i toured one of the most important aircraft carriers in our fleet. and when i went to a particular room where they said they do it for worship services, i wanted to meet the clergy who was there, who conducts these types of services. he wasn't there because you know what the next meeting was? the satan worshipers were going to have a meeting on the uss eisenhower. so what can a what can the trump administration do to try to root out the extremists and the satan worshipers and the
11:13 pm
people who maybe don't have the best, you know, best interest of the united states at hand, even within our own military? >> well, jason, let me just first say, when you talk about the erosion of the trust in the fbi and our federal agencies, it's not just the citizens of america that have experienced that our local and state law enforcement has had have seen a drastic decline in their trust. and they're working with federal agencies. that has to be restored. remember the nine over 11 commission, its emphasis was squarely on the communication between those that do get information and those that need the information to stop terrorist attacks. we're still there. we're back in at a point in time with great deterioration from the biden administration administration, from an fbi that has turned its priorities against its own citizens to an fbi agency that is not communicating and is losing
11:14 pm
trust. that affects your local officers and your local police stations, and their ability to have confidence that they will get the information or the information they give to the feds will actually be utilized. we have that breakdown again, and we better fix it, or we're not going to be able to be on top of these kinds of attacks, which we know were the poorest, with a porous immigration border. we know they're going to be actually rallied, and they're going to be inspired by these types of incidents. so we have to be more vigilant and the communication has to be greater. >> yeah. you're absolutely right. look, january 20th can't happen soon enough. we need under the leadership of president biden, we need pam bondi. we need kash patel, we need john ratcliffe. they've got to get in there as soon as possible. nicole, paul and brett, thank you. appreciate it. happy new year to you. all right here now with more is florida senator rick scott. and senator i want to continue on with that discussion because
11:15 pm
how is it that the republicans can get the nominees from donald trump in place as soon as possible? we heard senator thune talk about that as a priority. but what will the democrats do to slow that down, and why? and what can republicans do to accelerate it as quickly as possible? well, like you said, january 20th can't happen fast enough. >> we've got to get these nominees done. so the first thing we've got to do is start in january 6th. we've got to start going through committee by committee and get pam bondi out of the committee, get pete hegseth out of the committee to get, you know, every nominee get done as quickly as possible. >> then on january 20th, we've got to stay here and just be voting on these nominees. the democrats clearly have said they're going to try to obstruct because they do not want they do not want trump to have any success. so we've got to be willing to stay here week after week, work day after day to get these nominees done. >> if we need to do a recess appointments, allow trump to do recess appointments. we need to allow trump to do recess
11:16 pm
appointments. we've got to get his team in place because something's got to change. the american public has completely lost trust with their federal government, especially their federal law enforcement agencies. they've lost trust in mayorkas. they've lost trust of wray. they've lost trust of merrick garland. this has got to change. >> senator, one of my big concerns is january 20th itself to protect the capitol, the inauguration, make sure that president trump is safely there in the white house with jd vance is imperative. but somehow, some way, some idiot also scheduled the national championship football game to be that same day on january 20th. i don't know how the intelligence services and all their expertise can handle two major events on the same day i. how could this possibly happen? how in the world is homeland security, secret service, all of these other intelligence agencies? how in the world are they supposed to do that? on january 20th?
11:17 pm
>> well, as you as you know, for the last four years they've been out to lunch. they clearly have not been doing their job. they have not been protecting america. we i'm on homeland security committee in the senate. and mayorkas and wray were supposed to come testify last month and canceled. they didn't want to they didn't want to come talk about threats to, you know, threats on our homeland. so i mean, they have just they have just completely lost trust. they've lost focus. there's no transparency. so yeah, i agree, it does not make sense that we'd have two significant events like this on the same day. >> well, senator, look, you've also been a governor, a highly successful you know, how this is supposed to run at the local level. i'm glad you're on homeland security and hopefully get those nominees as quickly as possible, because those two agencies, homeland security, department of justice, cannot be turned around fast enough. but man, that is a massive task to do. literally more than 370,000 people between those two departments and agencies. so good luck to you there.
11:18 pm
we're going to get we're going to get some good nominees. he does. coming up, hundreds of protesters marched for intifada in new york city just hours after yesterday's horrific terror attacks in new orleans, in las vegas. that and more next on this special edition of hannity. >> when you discover bolling branch bedding, you uncover the most natural softness possible. made with toxin free organic cotton by people who are paid and treated fairly. experience the difference at boll and branch com. >> save up to 80% at the jewelry exchange. quarter carat studs 69. huggies 149. tennis bracelets 599 per carat, two carat three stone rings or studs 1990 guaranteed to appraise for double factory direct the jewelry exchange. >> muscle cramps were keeping me up at night, so then i tried slimming the magnesium plus

11:20 pm
buy food. that is where the fellowship comes in. that's where the fellowship is called baruch hashem. to feed the hungry. >> happy hanukkah, hanukkah through the international fellowship of christians and jews. hanukkah, your special holiday gift of just $25, can answer their prayers this hanukkah and christmas season. >> it's people like shaya that you can touch. >> please call, scan, or go online now to help rush emergency food and healing to elderly jews and their christian neighbors struggling to rebuild their lives from the war. you are a christian. those words of isaiah that the spirit of the lord is upon you. here we go. you're bringing hope. you're bringing tomorrow on the table to her and to so many others. what will happen? amen. when tens of millions of

again, nine tablets for just $7 is tri friday plans.com. >> welcome back to this special edition of hannity. just hours after a terrorist flying an isis flag carried out a deadly attack in new orleans, protesters took to the streets in new york and called for an infettata revolution. and what's worse, another group is planning a pro-hamas demonstration on monday in new orleans, just blocks away from where yesterday's attack took place. here, with reaction, south carolina senator lindsey graham, senator, thank you so much for joining us. you know, i look at what's happening in new york city. it seems like those people should be the people on the watch list. i mean, what what's your take on what's going on here in america right now? >> they're providing aid and comfort to the enemy. jason, do you believe we're at war with isis? do you believe that?
11:25 pm
>> yeah, yeah. they've been designated as a terrorist organization. >> yeah, well, if you don't believe that, you're an idiot. isis is dedicated to doing three things. bending every muslim to their will, purifying islam, destroying israel and coming after us because we're infidels. they're religious nazis. if you did this in world war two, you'd probably have your in jail if you carried around a nazi flag and showed sympathy for the nazi cause during world war two, you'd be committing treason. tokyo rose actually went to jail. so did berlin betty. i think her name was so. these people are giving comfort to the enemy. hamas is an enemy not only to israel, but to mankind. they want to kill all the jews and drive us out of the mideast. this is insane. this is crazy. we're at war with people who want to destroy our way of life. this terrorist was radicalized. he
11:26 pm
killed 14 innocent people in the name of hate, in the name of radical islam in his world. all of us deserve to die because we don't agree with him when it comes to religion. so god bless israel. so i don't want to support the hamas terrorists who are trying to kill all the jews. i want to support the jews to make sure there's no second holocaust. i want to support israel against hamas, hezbollah and iran. these people are disgusting and they should be held to account. >> senator, i got a lot of criticism for the department of justice and director wray, but he has consistently testified that there is a heightened need. yeah, he's been he's but but the question is what did they actually do about it? i can't point to a single thing that our federal government actually did to adhere to what he's telling us was a threat. and then all of a sudden we had
11:27 pm
an attack. >> well, so we've done very little other than identify the threat. what did donald trump do? he allowed raising cain and other military minerals to the general called raising cain to destroy the caliphate. when soleimani, the iranian revolutionary guard leader, was found to be trying to kill americans in iraq, we killed him. and everybody said, oh, that's provocative. no it wasn't. the arabs respected the fact that president trump stood up for americans in harm's way, in harm's way, and got six arab states to recognize israel because he was standing up to radical islam, which is an enemy to the arab world as much as anybody else. so what biden has done is done everything wrong. he gave iranians the ayatollah money that's been used to fuel terrorism. he lifted the sanctions. he has restricted or tried to restrict arms sales to israel. the people who are marching in the streets in new york are giving aid and comfort to the enemy.
11:28 pm
when isis sees that they're emboldened, they're energized. this is ridiculous. i can't wait for trump to come back. when he comes back, we're going to kick their. we're going to stand behind israel. and wherever isis goes, we're going to follow them and we're going to kill them. >> good. senator graham, south carolina, thank you. happy new year to you. all right. following yesterday's deadly attacks, biden could only summon energy to speak for. well, just a few minutes. have a look. >> the isis flag was found in his vehicle, which he rented to conduct this attack. possible explosives were found in the vehicle as well, and more explosives were were found nearby. the situation is very fluid and the investigation has a preliminary stage. and the fact is that right now. excuse me. there you go. the law enforcement and intelligence community are continuing to
11:29 pm
look for any connections, associations or coconspirators. we're tracking the explosion of a cyber truck outside the trump hotel in las vegas. law enforcement and the intelligence community are investigating this as well, including whether there's any possible connection with the attack in new orleans thus far. there's nothing to report on that score at this time. >> but don't worry, biden still found time today to honor honor liz cheney and congressman bennie thompson by presenting these two congressmen with the president's citizens medal, sparking outrage from house speaker mike johnson, who called it, quote, a complete joke and utter embarrassment. here, with reaction, author of the upcoming book all the president's money investigating the secrets the secret foreign schemes that made the biden
11:30 pm
family rich, chairman of the house oversight committee james comer, along with congressman ronny jackson and congressman byron donalds. gentlemen, thank you so much for joining us tonight. congressman jackson, let me start with you. what did you make of president biden's comments today? did that reassure you and the people of texas and around the country that, hey, he's on top of it? >> no, it's absolutely pathetic, jason. i mean, that kind of weakness portrayed and demonstrated on a national scale or a national stage like it was today from, you know, from the white house by our commander in chief and our head of state. it doesn't it does everything. it makes this place incredibly dangerous. >> i mean, you can see the dangerous times that we live in right now, but honestly, our our enemies watch this. they see this weakness. >> and we are at great risk for the next 17 days. >> we need to move on. we need to get this man out of office. >> he had no business being our president and our commander in chief from day one. he's progressively gotten worse and we would be better off as a
11:31 pm
nation right now if they would just put him in the basement for the next 17 days and not put him on tv anymore. he does not inspire confidence. it's a dangerous situation and i think that, you know, bad things are on the horizon. i hope that we can get president trump in place before some of it becomes a reality. >> yeah, putting getting president trump there can't happen soon enough. i think our enemies will fear us and our our allies will respect us, and america will be safer. congressman donalds, i want to ask you, though i don't know how you feel about it. i was offended that president biden gave one of the second highest medal of honor. it's not called the medal of honor, but a medal honoring these two congressmen. congressman liz cheney and bennie thompson. what's your reaction to that? >> my reaction is, i'm highly offended, but i'm not surprised. joe biden and his white house have lived in the bizarro land where no other americans really exist. that's
11:32 pm
why the presidency under joe biden has been an abject disaster. this is just one of the last pieces of icing on that cake. look, everybody knows that the fake january 6th committee, the only purpose was to basically put a lot of propaganda out into the information stream to go after and attack donald trump. it failed, completely backfired. they suppressed information. they tampered with evidence. there's reports out there that they were actually tampering with witnesses sitting in front of that committee, something that has, frankly, never happened in the halls of congress happened with this j6 committee. so for them to be rewarded for, frankly, the lack of transparency and honesty they gave to the american people is disgusting. but why are we surprised? this is the presidency of joe biden, the very worst presidency in the history of our country. >> chairman comer, same question to you, because these i mean, the way that committee acted, the way they excluded
11:33 pm
republicans, excluded the speaker's ability to appoint republicans to participate in it, the charade that they put it on, the hollywood dressing, that they put on this to try to take down donald trump and rely on some information that was just i just can't believe that president biden would do this at this time. but what's your reaction to it? well, it's a slap in the face to all the good americans who actually deserve to be recognized for their public service or for their sacrifice or for their community activism. >> you think about all the first responders that risk their lives every day. all the military frontline soldiers who risked their lives every day, all the people that that run charitable organizations and do good things at church. none of them got recognized by joe biden, but he but he recognized liz cheney and bennie thompson. and i want to remind everyone, touching on what byron donald said, every committee in the
11:34 pm
history of congress is appointed by the speaker and minority leader. the majority party appoints their members. the minority party appoints their members. kevin mccarthy appointed good members to that committee. but but nancy pelosi rejected them because she knew they would be truthful and they wouldn't go along with the false narrative that the media and the democrats were trying to create about donald trump. so she kicked jim jordan and jim banks off and put liz cheney and adam kinzinger on there, who would just go along with all the fake propaganda that the democrat national committee and their friends in the left wing media were spouting out. >> all right, congressman, i'm going to ask all three of you. so we're going to start with congressman jackson. he gets to go first. again, you're about 15 hours away from a speaker vote. how are you going to vote on that speaker vote? and i mean by my count, there's like five house members who aren't going to vote for speaker
11:35 pm
johnson. and that's going to put you short of coming up with a majority. so foreshadow what's going to happen. and how specifically do you plan to vote, at least on the first round on speaker johnson because that's just 15 hours away. >> well, i'm absolutely, positively voting for speaker mike johnson. he's done a good job under the circumstances. we need to get this. we need to move the ball right now. president trump has stepped out and said, let's put mike back in the speaker's role so we can move on with the make america great agenda. and what the american people have told us that they want us to do. we have to do that now. there's no time to mess around. it's time to it's time to put on our game faces and get it done. and i think that i hope that these people you're talking about, i hope that if they do vote against him, it's just a protest vote. we can get past that. we can come together as a conference because we will not win unless we come together as a team. it's one team, one fight. right now. we've got the house, we've got the senate and we've got the presidency coming up. we've got to take advantage
11:36 pm
of this. we may never get another chance. >> congressman donalds oh, i'm voting for mike johnson. i agree with ronny jackson. look, i think this thing is going to be wrapped up pretty quickly. so, you know, everybody's getting excited about tomorrow. i think this thing is going to get wrapped up. and then we move forward. >> i hope you're right. because if you don't get the speaker in place, you can't certify the election. if you can't certify the election, you can't install donald trump as the president on january 20th. so i want to see who what congressmen stand up and what argument that they make that they're going to go against trump. and they'd much rather delay the implementation of, you know, the new presidency, that that that would be fascinating to me. congressman comer, chairman comer, where are you at on this? >> i'm voting for mike johnson. the people in my district sent a message that they want me to support president trump's agenda. he won by more than 3 to 1 margin in my congressional district. and that's what i'm going to do. donald trump wants mike johnson. i'm voting for mike johnson. and let's get ready to make america great again. we've got a lot of work to do. we've got a big mess to
11:37 pm
clean up left behind by joe biden and the democrats. and it's time to work with trump to get things on track again. >> yeah, it is a team sport, folks. and there's one team and there's another team. so if you're not united, your team ain't going to win. so congressman, three of our best serving in the house of representatives, thanks for joining us here on hannity tonight. we really do appreciate it. all right. once again, the media is refusing to hold those responsible accountable for yesterday's attacks. instead, they're blaming the vehicles used to wage war. usa today completely omitted any mention of terror in its headline, saying instead, a truck crashed into a crowd in new orleans. well, the guardian and the associated press, you know, two of the best write simply said a truck exploded outside of trump hotel in las vegas. yeah, that's not exactly accurate, is it? all right here with reaction. fox news contributor joe concha and lisa boothe, two of my
11:38 pm
favorite. joe, you tackle this first. a truck just exploded. right. that was that's what happened. and a truck just mowed people over and there was nobody involved in it, right? >> yeah. >> jesse washington post said truck rams new orleans crowd. >> it would be like saying it'd be like reading a headline on nine over 11 saying, planes fly into world trade center towers. >> and that's why probably the washington post lost $150 million in the past two years. its subscribers are jumping ship as if they were on the titanic. this is the same paper who called the terrorist isis leader al baghdadi after we took him out under trump, and austere religious scholar who enjoyed playing soccer as a young boy in its obituary. it's enough to make your hair hurt, jason. and then that cnn headline one dead after tesla truck catches fire and explodes outside trump hotel in las vegas. i mean, shut the front door. it didn't catch fire. a terrorist purposely blew it up, blew himself up. seven people
11:39 pm
got injured. it would have been a hell of a lot worse if there were more people around there. and if it wasn't a tesla vehicle that contained the explosion. so i just don't get in these situations. why we can't just report the facts as they are and stop trying to sugarcoat this stuff because people died. and it matters when you're supposed to be an objective journalistic outlet, and you still continue to not do basic things. and this is why legacy media is dying right now. jason. >> lisa, i mean, lisa, that's a pretty badass truck, if you ask me. the truck didn't burn you barely. i mean, the fact that they picked the worst possible vehicle to use on this, if it was an attack, i mean, the explosives in the back burned, but they were put there. look at that. the side of the tesla protected the building. you don't even see the glass. didn't even break on the trump
11:40 pm
hotel because it absorbed the explosion within. but it's the it's the it's the quickness and the repetitive nature of the media to try to put a suppression and a spin on this that negates the idea that maybe it was a terrorist attack. >> yeah. well, for a second i thought joe was going full f bomb. so i got to cut a little bit, worried there for a second when he said front door. and we've seen elon musk and tesla. we've seen elon musk and tesla work hand in hand with law enforcement and trying to get to the bottom of what exactly happened. but, you know, honestly, the media is being consistent here, right? because in mass shootings, they blame the gun instead of the psychopath shooting it. so why not blame the truck as opposed to the terrorists driving it and the new orleans incident? also, it also aligns with the media strange deference towards terrorists that we've seen over the years. joe mentioned the washington post eulogizing isis leader al-baghdadi, calling him an austere religious scholar. or we look at the media pushing
11:41 pm
hamas propaganda after the october 7th terror attacks, notably with the hospital bombing or at least what they said. they blamed israel for that on october 17th, 2023 ended up being a misfired rocket heading in the direction of israel. was not israel to blame for that? but beyond that, we're in a strange place as a society of really this information fog where we have been lied to so much by the media. we've been lied to so much by the fbi, by our intelligence agencies, that it's difficult to decipher what is true. you know, and we seem to have an fbi that can track someone down who spent two seconds in the capitol, but not give us information about matthew thomas crooks. and so we're in this strange place where we're trying to get to the truth, we're trying to get to the facts, but we have been lied, lied to so much that it makes it very difficult to do so. >> yeah. well said. i really do appreciate both of you joining us tonight on hannity. thanks for making time for us. and i hope you have a wonderful happy new year. all right. coming up,

>> welcome back to this special edition of hannity. the end of joe biden's term is thankfully, just days away, which means americans can now officially score his time in office. and spoiler alert, it didn't go so well. the biden presidency was defined by a long series of failures, but one issue has been there from the very start the border crisis. biden's border policy was such an abysmal failure that even msnbc called him out this morning. the numbers just don't lie. take a look at this. >> the border and climate change were major issues in the year. >> that was the border. yes, that's exactly right. of course, jonathan, the border was not biden's finest moment. frankly, you can see what happened here. and trump is not wrong when he talks about how border crossings were quite low. they were running about 74,000 a month when he left office, and they, in fact did shoot up. some of it was some things biden said, and some ways that they put a moratorium, for example, on
11:49 pm
deportations. but in fact, we did get up here almost to 300,000 a month. but what maybe people don't entirely know is that border crossings have come back down almost to where they were under trump. they're running at about 100,000 at the moment. so we went up the hill and we went down the hill. but unfortunately that was pretty costly to biden during the election. >> here now with reaction, our incoming border czar tom homan and fox news contributor sara carter. thank you both for joining us. all right, tom, i got to start with you. you know the border better than anybody. you're the new border czar. finally, there is some acknowledgment that the border numbers were out of control. it's hard to fathom how bad it's been, but how good it could be. so put those in contrast. what should the american people expect? >> well, look, they're still lying. >> his last statement was the border numbers are down to the trump levels. they are not down to the trump levels. >> they're still historic highs. what what they don't
11:50 pm
what they fail to recognize is that the biden administration created the cbp one app. they created the other program for cuba, nicaragua, venezuela and haiti. the hmv app and removing thousands of illegal aliens every day through the cbp one app. >> they're moving 30,000 illegal aliens a day through the qnv. >> these are the same illegal alien population, but they put them in three different buckets and they created the cnv and the cbp cb one app saying these are legal pathways. they're no. they're totally abuse of the parole statute, and they're illegal and they're being sued. but by the time it gets to the courts, they'll be they'll be out of administration. so the numbers are still historic highs. look, under president trump, president trump was a game changer. i worked for six different presidents. the all took steps to secure the border. no one did it better than president trump. it was historic border numbers, border crossings at a 45 year low, border crossings down 90%. what he did was unprecedented. joe
11:51 pm
biden within one month of taking office, we saw historic numbers. we went to the most secure border in my lifetime to historic illegal migration. >> yeah, and even took airplanes and started flying them in by the thousands into the united states. oh, that's not a border crossing. yeah, that's an illegal border crossing. just used american taxpayer dollars through ngos. right. put people on airplanes. sarah, you've you've been covering this up close and personal. it is kind of satisfying to have msnbc at least say out loud, for at least for the moment, nobody not that anybody was watching, but at least say, yeah, trump. trump had this one, right? >> yeah, you're absolutely right, jason. i mean, msnbc has literally seen their viewership plunge to 30 year lows. that's how serious this is. and it's the reason why msnbc is coming back and trying to cover up their past inadequacies by saying, and i got to agree with tom, even what they were saying was, was false in some way. on
11:52 pm
on some level, what they did say was true is that it was at the lowest levels under president trump. i've been covering the border now for more than 20 years. i've covered it under many presidents from george bush all the way to president trump to president biden. i never saw anything as bad as what we saw under president biden. and it was kind of like an expansion of an open border policy that existed under president obama. let's remember that started there with daca under president obama. how many children have died on this treacherous journey to the united states? how many have been lost in our system? over 325,000 children lost in a system where hhs and the biden administration did nothing but endanger the lives of these children. moreover, we have seen the most dangerous crossing. this isn't just me saying this. this is the united nations literally listing the southern border with the united states as the most dangerous land crossing in the world. in
11:53 pm
the world, we have emboldened the cartels. we've emboldened human traffickers. we have created a national security crisis for the united states, and we have put all of our children in danger. how many times have tom and i and others like derek maltz, viktor avilov come forward, rodney scott come forward and said, look at the number of people in the united states that have lost their lives due to fentanyl poisoning. so not only was the border dangerous for people crossing, it was dangerous for us and here in the united states and created a danger globally for everyone. >> yeah, i've only got a few seconds here, but, tom, i'm glad sarah brought up the missing children. i mean, to have ten missing kids that are potentially trafficked, but we're talking hundreds of thousands. it's hard to fathom how big this problem really is. >> look, president trump has made three promises. immigration. number one, we're going to secure the border at the highest level ever. we're going to finish the job that we
11:54 pm
started. number two, we're going to run the biggest deportation operation in this country ever seen with concentrating on public safety threats. and number three, we're going to find those 340,000 children. will we find them all? probably not. but we'll give it everything we got. we're going to save these children because many of these children are in forced labor. we've already found some in forced labor. some of these children are in forced sex trafficking. we're going to find these children. we're going to save them. and for the democratic party, who wants to keep yelling and screaming? they're going to stop us from doing what we're doing. they're going to they're going to put roadblocks up in front of us. go ahead and do it. you're not going to stop us. we're going to do it. shame on you for not wanting to find these children. shame on you for not wanting to remove public safety threats from your community. you don't want to do it. we'll do it. just get out of the way. >> yeah. god bless you. godspeed. because i tell you what. going after those kids and shame on those that want to be sanctuary states and sanctuary cities and not cooperate with ice to get rid of all the bad folks that are here. thanks for joining us. more of this special edition of
