guy: 8:00 a.m. hour of "fox & friends" and first law filed against new orleans over the alleged failure to secure bourbon street. guy: a win as mike johnson was reelected as speaker of the house and kevin mctar think joining us this -- mccarthy joining us in this hour. rachel: meghan markle making her comeback to instagram and didn't go over well. we'll explain in my pop culture round you. third hour of "fox & friends" coming up. charlie: good morning and welcome to "fox & friends" weekend. it's great to be here with you all and all the christmas trees still up. very exciting. rachel: i can't hope that we
5:02 am
continue that country theme through the show. charlie: instead of going to the very interesting remix of that song. rachel: hooked on a feeling. that segment and i'm glad you got your question answered by the dirt. that was on charlie's mind for the entire hour. where did the dirt come from? charlie: we could go on and i want to know what do they do when they get done? rachel: they return to jersey. charlie: right. plus some manure so it's -- rachel: it'll be more fruitful. charlie: highly more fruitful. it'll make new jersey smell better. guy: hey, i'm from jersey. rachel: be careful when you're around him or martha mccal lum, watch it. martha maccallum, watch it. rachel: neal mcdonough is on here and i'm a big fan of him as an actor. he's a very devout catholic and plays villains because he

doesn't want to kiss other women as the hero because he's married and loves his wife. got to love that . charlie: this is the second time in two weeks that i've learned this piece of trivia. both times from you. rachel: says everything about the guy. i love it and looking forward to his movie coming out. guy: he's got a pretty good villanuevaen look, not to take -- villain look, not to take that away from him. rachel: him kissing other women and says no thank you. charlie: only leading men heros that kiss women? guy: villains don't kiss women? rachel: he plays villains that don't kiss people that aren't his wife. guy: trying to understand it a bit better. i've never taken an acting claman countdowns. rachel: would you do that. if you were an actor, would you kiss an woman? charlie: i'm not an actor for many reasons. guy: would definitely be acting for me. rachel: would be for you.

moving on. charlie: president elect trump is cheering mike johnson's big win to be rel reelected for sper and not without the drama. started out with three republicans voting against speaker johnson in the first ballot before -- they kept the vote open before donald trump came in off the golf course and twisted some arms and changed two of them. rachel: that's right. what donald trump said to fox digital. he said this process brought them even closer together saying the -- talking about the republican conference there and says it is all a reflection of the great president presidential election of 2024 and won all seven swing states and popular vote and everything else. there's a plan for america to come back. a lot of people saying we had a sound byte from newt bring rich

on earlier -- newt gingrich on earlier in the show saying this is a sign that this republican team is learning to work together and learning that this is a team sport, and that sometimes donald trump is going to come in and put everybody back in line but want to get things done with only a two seat majority, you have to stick together. charlie: and control the other chamber of congress and about to control the white house. earlier, i spoke to texas congressman keith self, and he told us about that phone call from donald trump. >> i like mike johnson know before the vote what i was going to do, and he had president trump call me and, yes, president trump was hitting a five iron about the time we talked, but what he said, we had a very goodies cushion about how to -- good dis-ustion about how to advance the trump agenda. that's what it's all about because he's going to face a lot of pushback in the senate. once you start talking about cutting the bureaucracy, controlling spending, he's going to have pushback so this was how
5:06 am
do we do that? mike johnson is a man of character and a man of honor. he's made some assurances. i will leave that to him to articulate them but he's made assurances that we will do better, and i think that we must do better because the nation cannot wait? we must get the trump agenda moving. charlie: you know you're in trouble if donald trump has to come in off the golf course. guy: not happy to play that phone call. we had a good conversation and i'm sure it was really, really good and the one point i'll make here is in the past there was divided government or more of a buffer for the republicans and this time you look at math. unity is something that politicians don't like to talk about within the policy. moving forward here because for awhile some of the vacancies people heading into the trump administration, it'll make 217-2015 in the house -- 217-215 in the house and no margin of

error and if you want to get things down let alone big things, the republican haves to stick together and on round one they did. surprising some critics and some skeptics. rachel: listen, it speak as lot to the strength of donald trump and the mandate he has, but also i think mike johnson, his personality, you know, a lot of the members came out and said listen, he's never said a bad word about anybody and you mentioned i think something very interesting that he didn't offer freebies and union sentives in that way to get the vote. it was a straight shooter and a lot of people just generally like him and they disagree with someone of his policies and i think the representative thomas massey has very sound philosophical disagreements with him when it comes to ukraine especially. but as you also mentioned, guy, earlier, there's nobody else standing up to do this. there's nobody else who could have taken to the same kind of support. mike johnson leading and donald

trump going to keep everyone in line and hopefully that'll be the recipe for success. meanwhile joe biden is trying to do a few things to slow down donald trump as he tries to take the house. headline from bloomburg saying biden to ban new oil drilling over vast stretch of u.s. atlantic/pacific waters. here's devin miller talking about what this mean means. watch. >> president trump campaigned for two years straight on drill baby drill, open up american energy, get the cost of living down, get inflation down, make america the energy super power of the worship god, make america energy dominant and energy independent and what is joe biden doing on his way out oturu door? trying to lock away america's energy resources from exploration. trying to keep what president trump calls liquid gold underneath the ground where we can't access it. but here's the thing, this desperate attempt is going to
5:09 am
fail miserably, donald trump will put his hand on the bible on january 20th, and he is going to be the 47th president of the united states. we're going to open up federal lands for drilling, for fracking and cleaning coal and he'll bring down the coast of energy and he'll cut the price of gasoline and make america the energy super power of the world. charlie: that is such an important point he's making right there about the facts that it's noted like this wasn't an issue that was an issue in the election. it was an issue in the election election and lains were made very clear and donald trump talked about doing this and voters had their say and then joe biden walking out of office and wanting to scuttle what the american people voted for. guy: he's trying to handcuff the incoincoming administration ande biden's parly lost and to the

extent, it's up to the white house council to figure out what's doable and what isn't. the fact that donald trump can come in with a flick of the wrist and affect as much as possible on executive action is appropriate literally on day one. more complicated on this and congress in a symar majority and the review act to go back and rescind costly regulations and this would being at the very top of the list. rachel: we had marc morano on from climate depot talking about it and want as two week job from the federal government going through all the agencies and cut out all of the climate policies, that are wasteful and by the way end up being gift for a lot of donors who haven't the insight deals on some of the climate initiatives and yeah, it's a really important thing and i say it doesn't matter who you talk to and latino voters and all understood that inflation as we
5:11 am
heard it's the economy, stupid, inflation was related to the energy costs, to the cost of energy and that that was indeed a big issue across the working class whether it was white, hispanic, black, and everyone understood that energy was expensive and that was driving up the cost of everything donald trump won on that and hopefully on these handcuffs we talk about and will be able to be undone through some of the legal action and executive orders and action by congress. that's not what the american people want. want. guy: the high cost of energy is pain. for everyone who pays energy bills but especially painful for people who can afford it the least; right. it's a regressive tax basically on people. then kansas city chiefs, charlie, you were saying it's not like it was an un-litigated election and it was litigated at great length. when the question came up about the number one issue, inflation, donald trump and jd's advances response was energy dependence.
