just one. joining us now live is the impressive cadet chief petty officer lake. congratulations. >> good morning. thank you. >> ainsley: we're so proud and inspired by you. how did you do it and what was your reaction when you found out? >> well, i already wanted to go to the naval academy. i was completing my application. i needed the recommendation so i applied through a congressman's website and after that i received a call from the school. it was my last class of the day and it was a call from washington. i almost didn't pick it up because i was in my last class was a gym class. and so then i did a double take and i looked at it again. saw the number was from washington. he called me and told me that i was getting the recommendation to all four service academies. >> ainsley: you probably couldn't jump up and down and scream, could you? >> i couldn't. >> ainsley: what did your teachers, friends and parents

say? >> my teacher the first one i told was my instructor. he was excited and come up to his class immediately. he gave congratulations. i talked to the other naval science instructor and he congra congratulated. they did an announcement in the morning and everybody was congratulating me. my mom was super excited and family. >> ainsley: you go to a military academy in connecticut. i'm sure every one of your teacher was more overjoyed because of that reason. have you made a decision? >> i am only applying to the naval academy. not accepted yet. my application isn't complete. i have to do the physical fitness and medical exam. after that my application will be complete and i apply to other colleges with an rotc scholarship. >> ainsley: we wish you all the best. say a prayer that he is accepted and takes that road. any advice you have for other

teenagers, other high schoolers who might want to go to one of the academies? >> i would just say stick to what you want. stick to what you are doing. a lot of people as they get older change their decision on what they want to do. it has been what i wanted to do. if you stick to one goal you can accomplish anything. >> ainsley: how hard was the process? >> well, i made the application and then had to go to an interview competing against probably maybe 50 other people. >> ainsley: it's a rigorous process because they are choosing the best of the best to serve our country. thank you so much. we wish you a will the best. i know you want to be a navy seal and god bless america. thank you. >> thank you. >> ainsley: you're welcome. what a great kid. all right, or young man. thank you so much for watching. we'll see you tomorrow. welcome back if you are heading back to work. stay safe with all that weather. >> bill: thank you, ainsley. baton down the
