8:01 pm
and breaking tonight gas prices up, oil supply down and president biden issuing a sweeping ban on offshore oil and gas drilling, it's an 11th hour executive order trying to stop the new drilling across u.s. coastal and offshore water. president-elect trump said not so fast. meantime it's official, congress certified donald trump selection win today and president biden seems a little better. vice president harris on the other hand surprisingly cheerful today, as she certified a fascist threat to democracy, plus the trump effect might be heading to canada, canadian prime minister justin trudeau announcing his resignation today, is the country's conservative movement grows and this might be canada's next
8:02 pm

8:03 pm
>> brewing and you get evening, biden's executive action very likely sets up a future legal battle for the incoming trump administration as he attempts to undo biden's poison pill but keep in mind this is not new you may recall back when then outgoing president barack obama did something very similar on his way out the door, of the white house. in this instance biden's plan would go farther than anything we have ever seen, a ban on new oil and gas leasing across 625 million acres of u.s. oil, for new drilling along the entire east coast, the eastern gulf of mexico, the coast of washington, oregon and california as well as portions of alaska's northern bering sea, mr. biden right -- writing a statement, it could cause irreversible damage to places we hold dear and is unnecessary.
8:04 pm
but tonight president trump is vowing to let the van no matter what it takes, calling biden's latest move, disruptive. >> i will on ban it immediately, what is he doing, why is he doing it? he doesn't even know was 625 million acres would look like and we cannot let that happen to our country, it's our greatest economic asset and we are not going to let that happen to our country. >> you have probably also noticed this, abiding created or expanded 10 national monuments during his time in office as well, 24 million acres of public land to prevent their further development, continuing an obama trend, a lot of court battles coming up on this. >> trace: indeed, life for us in d.c., kevin thank you. let's bring in louisiana attorney general, it's great to have you on the show, the national review makes a good
8:05 pm
point, biden is seeking to undermine the nation's energy independence with the last minute executive action is bad enough, we don't even know whether biden himself made the decision in good health or weather its being done in his name by group of left-wing activists in the administration, making it even worse, would you agree with that? >> 100% i agree with that. i have been suing president biden since the first day he took office and started issuing executive orders trying to ban drilling in the gulf of mexico, and on federal land and this action is kicking us while we are down, it's very destructive, it makes no sense whatsoever. i really do think that somebody else is pulling all the strings here. >> trace: it's interesting i want to get your take as well in the ongoing investigation in new orleans, louisiana senator said this about

starting at the memorial here on bourbon street, the victims laying flowers and offering a prayer before heading to a service at a local church where they met with some of the victims families and two of the officers injured in a shoot-out with the suspect, while into his rampage. >> president joe biden: my wife jill and i are here to stand with you, to agree with you, pray with you, let you know you are not alone. >> asked for the investigation we have learned late last year he made two trips new orleans including one in october when the fbi said he recorded these videos wearing smart glasses while riding a bike through the french quarter. investigators also releasing these surveillance videos shortly before the new year's attack showing him walking through the french quarter with two coolers that had detonation

8:10 pm
it sounds like this was meticulously planned and plotted. >> i will tell you what it tells me, it tells me that there was systematic failures in identifying and monitoring a high risk threat which went off and committed an act of terror. it tells me there was clear warning signs, radicalization and extreme rhetoric are not being monitored by the federal bureau of investigation or any of our federal agencies, which leads me to believe that we have a problem in this country with dealing with the emerging threats like we have just seen on bourbon street. >> trace: the fbi diversity inclusion web page explains a bunch of differences explaining that they believe the differences in thoughts and belief, to more effective decision-making drives innovation and enhances the employee experience, we know a more diverse workforce allows us to connect with and maintain the
8:11 pm
trust of the american people. not sure they have the trust of the american people. >> no and here is where i am out with that, the fbi's focus on these garbage initiatives. i am all for diversity, but not at the expense of the 35 or the 15 plus people that were killed on bourbon street and here is where i am matt, there needs to be a complete gutting of the fbi, which is probably going to happen once trumps -- trump gets in. how effective is the fbi? it is gone so bad 100 million plus spent over four years with these initiatives, it might be time to stand up a full, peer domestic intelligence agency, here in the united states that specializes in using ai and other methods of tracking all

8:13 pm
vice president kamala harris had to certify she lost and donald trump, one! it was likely one of her last duties as vice president. >> today america's democracy stood. >> now begins the real work, and donald trump is already working with republicans to construct and pass a single quote big beautiful bill. he wants it to include border security, tax cuts and increase military spending but there is some concern among some lawmakers, the bigger the bill the harder it will >> pass. -- it will be to pass. justin trudeau announced he will resign as prime minister and a leader of the liberal party after nearly one decade as
8:14 pm
prime minister, most recently he faced criticism for poor economy, high cost of living as well as handling immigration. >> trace: live with us, jeff thank you let's bring in political strategist and podcast host, along with former strategic communication director, good to see you. meantime susie said this, put it on the screen, we will not tolerate backbiting, second dressing -- second-guessing or drama. it's a mix of new and veteran, many young, all are prepared to work punishing to the core, anybody who cannot be counted on to be collaborative and focus on our shared goals is not working in the west wing, it sounds to me like there is no b.s. in the west wing. >> is she is kind of my dream, she needs business and she knows

what she is doing, she is single-handedly handing trump over the finish line this selection generally what she recognizes is that we are no longer going to make it a place where people are going to be backstab, gain a platform for themselves, use it for their instagram or whatever, we need loyalists because we saw what happened in 2016. >> trace: it's amazing meantime big news up in canada justin trudeau, prime minister said he is resigning, "wall street journal" said canada needs a new election going on to write that voters are turning against progressing government across the west and canadians deserve an urgent chance to render their verdict, it looks like they are going to get it. >> absolutely, we are seeing this all over the world. people are rejecting the woke ideology that the left has been pushing down their throats for years. the other thing that they are rejecting is inflation and
8:16 pm
terrible economic policies, when people cannot afford groceries, that is when they turn up and they speak out and you are seeing that here in canada. the side with joe biden it was absolutely nothing he could do to get over the finish line, unfortunately for kamala harris she could not do anything either, they were on the same ticket in the same white house for many years. we are seeing more of that across our neighbour border and canada is going to have a lot of change, i don't know that those celebrities that were planning to flee to canada, really have anywhere to go at this point. >> trace: here is trump on biden's offshore oil drilling ban he said this... is sounds like president-elect might need cold medicine and it may be a little congressional help in getting these bands on
