anyone because i'll get in trouble. so let's go to d.c, where a big fight erupted today before congress certified the election. pretty much the same thing as january 6th, four years ago. just some minor differences. this just moments before congress certified trump's victory. cnn says today marks the most stunning comeback in u.s. political history. and of all people, kamala harris was the one who made it official. >> president of the united states are as follows. donald j. trump of the state of florida has received 312 votes. kamala harris.

kamala harris of the state of california has received 226 votes. >> she's the first woman to certify her own loss, and the first person to certify a u.s. election for hitler. >> well, today was obviously a very important day, and it was about what should be the norm and what the american people should be able to take for granted, which is that one of the most important pillars of our democracy is that there will be a peaceful transfer of power. >> trump calls today a big moment in history, and it's also the end of an era. the obama era, a democratic strategist says you can just smell it in the air. a deep sense of betrayal among democrat voters, and an underlying realization that the democratic party's politburo sold voters a bill of goods.

letters from little rocket man. ryan ruth, the second guy that almost assassinated trump, should have been picked up by the feds a long time ago, way before he got to trump's golf course. he tried building a mercenary army in ukraine, moonlighted as an arms contractor. he was flagged to the cia, fbi, homeland security, state customs. so why was he free as a bird to take a pot shot on the sixth hole? ruth's writing more letters from his jail cell. he's asking to be sent to gaza in exchange for hostages. he also ranted about alexander hamilton, compared himself to george bailey from it's a wonderful life. this nut outfoxed all of our intel agencies and got this close to shooting the president. the other trump assassin wannabe, matthew thomas crooks, probably had a few red flags too, but we wouldn't know because the feds buried everything. it's not just trump. kavanaugh almost

news. all right. mike, what is this new year's day terrorist attack? >> tell you, it's good to be with you, jesse. well, i mean, i think one thing you have to keep in mind is that the director of the cia, christopher wray, and others at the fbi, had said that the biggest terrorist threat in the united states was from white supremacists. they said that in 2021, they said over the past ten years, that's where they had seen the majority of terrorist attacks. that's false. there had been five attacks by islamic radicals in that period, four by white supremacists. islamic radicals had killed 77 people, 49 by white supremacists. and either way, that's such a small number of terrorist attacks. there's too few numbers. the set of numbers is too small to be able to discern a trend. but either way, you see, at best an fbi that has been distorted beyond recognition from its traditional law enforcement mission into one that's highly politicized, focused on
10:30 pm
racialist dei quotas, and on persecuting effectively the maga republican base, along with the rest of the intelligence community, which had viewed trump's supporters somehow as a threat to national security. >> you know, the police chief in new orleans that doesn't know how to barricade bourbon street on new year's eve. she teaches a course in dea for the fbi. that's exactly what we're talking about, mike. the priorities are out of whack. what is it going to take to shape up this institution? >> well, look, i mean, i think expectations are very high for kash patel. assuming he gets confirmed. expectations are very high. i mean, i think many of us want to see a lot of information disclosed. i mean, we're still waiting. we have big questions remaining on the russiagate hoax, on the hunter biden laptop on the january 6th pipe bombs. the fbi just released new video where you can't tell who the person is. it's almost as though they deliberately distorted the video footage. why is it only
10:31 pm
emerging now? so i just think there's you know, we've seen entrapment efforts by the fbi. this is an organization that needs to be rebuilt from bottom to top. it needs to be heavily focused on its law enforcement mission. patel has talked about separating that from its intelligence mission, but it needs to be focused on what its mission has been to do, which is to fight crime, to do what local law enforcement can't do. it's in a bad way. it's really lost touch with its mission. >> and i didn't i didn't know expectations that they released some sort of gussied up image of the so-called pipe bomber. we're going to have to look into that. thanks for bringing that to our attention and happy new year, mike. >> good to be with you, jesse. >> bribing politicians, planting puff pieces and covering up for dictators. america's top spin doctor is next.

10:39 pm
>> i was very surprised that when you asked the question about mental acuity, he didn't more forcefully push back. the question on the table is, is, is the is the president all the way there? and the answer is unequivocally yes. >> now, we all knew the truth for years. so why did so many journalists and politicians go along with it? it's an important lesson. you got to be careful what you believe from the establishment. top spin doctor phil elwood made a career out of manipulating the media and public perception for some of the worst humans in the world, from the private sector, some moguls to gadhafi. he chronicles his work in his new book, all the worst humans how i made news for dictators, tycoons and politicians. and now he's here to reveal what goes on behind the scenes. i love this book. this is one of my favorite reads of the year, because it confirmed what a lot of. i already knew that everybody is a scoundrel, and there's not a lot of virtue in
10:40 pm
this country at the top, and you know a lot about it. one of the things that caught my attention in this book, all the worst humans. it seems like a lot of politicians are for sale. explain the story behind that. sure. >> so i think the example you're talking about is when i was working for the government of qatar, and they got it in their head that they wanted to host the world cup in 2022. and espn said at the time that it made more sense to play the super bowl in a lake than it made to play the world cup in qatar. so congress passed a resolution supporting our own bid to host the games. we are their prime competitor, and so my client wanted me to get a resolution introduced opposing our own bid to host the world cup. so frantically i was brainstorming. i went to a bar and sat outside, and i was trying to figure out how to do this, and a group of school kids walked by and they were
10:41 pm
all morbidly obese. and i had the idea. and on a cocktail napkin, i wrote a resolution that said the united states government would not support bids for any international games, world cup or olympic until we fully funded physical education programs in public schools. i then worked with a lobbyist to get a member of congress to agree to introduce the resolution, and leaked the resolution to a reporter at politico, who wrote a story with the headline world cup versus gym class. >> and what was this politician? and did they get anything in exchange for this resolution? >> oh, i don't know. the lobbyists worked directly with a member of congress. i just worked on the press part of it. and so what happened was, you know, the article came out two days later in switzerland. they voted to give qatar the world cup. now, i won't say that i switched a single vote of a fifa member. there was a lot of bribery going on there, but what we did was give cover to absolutely every voter to say,
10:42 pm
not even the us congress wants to host the games. all right. >> well, he does name names in the book. he's just being he's being very coy with me. now, you were in charge of babysitting a gadhafi family member during a visit to the united states and almost died. yes. how did that go? >> well, it was mutassim gaddafi, the 35 year old son of muammar. he was the national security advisor for the country, and he was partying in vegas the weekend before his father spoke at the united nations, if you remember that speech. and so i was on the plane to vegas and got an email telling me what i was going to do and that i needed to keep everything out of the press. so this weekend involved guns, money, drugs, women, private planes, and a cher concert, actually. >> and so the gadhafi guy wanted to see cher. >> yeah, we actually left halfway through the show. >> cher bored the gadhafi guy. >> yeah, i guess so. and that's
10:43 pm
not the strangest. he wanted me to buy him jean shorts. not sure what that was all about. >> are those stylish in libya? >> i you know, i've never been. but you know, they the weekend got so far out of hand that when i went to check out of the bellagio hotel, my corporate credit card got declined because we ran up a seven figure bill, seven figures at the bellagio. and then i was walking through the airport to leave vegas, and i had $60,000 in stolen cash strapped to my body. and they never caught, you know, they only had magnetometers at the time. >> so one of the eye opening things, reading this book, is the way that journalists break stories. a lot of these stories that you see broken in the mainstream media often are spoon fed by people with money to make axes, to grind hidden agendas. >> sure, there are seven pr
