president-elect trump, a victory for free speech on social media as meta-scraps content moderation program in a move that resembles elon musk and the x. >> we are eliminating the third-party fact-checking system. well-intentioned at the outset that to the political bias and what they choose to fact-check and house so we are scrapping. >> sandra: wow! welcome back as "america reports" in the second hour and i'm sandra smith and new york. they must be listening to people who don't want that censorship, john. >> i think a lot of people looking at incoming trump administration and saying, you know there is a new sheriff in town and we better change our ways. just like x meta-t's community notes model that allows other users to fact-check post. meta-plans to lift restrictions on political content which conservatives say has a bias against. >> sandra: fox team coverage to pick up the sour martha maccallum standing by to give us her thoughts and jus.
11:02 am
>> john: this is grady trimble who is here to say how the president-elect is reacting to all of this. he seems to like it. he seems to get that change is a stamp of approval. tell the press conference this morning and hid this afternoon. he says meda has come a long way. he also says direct response to remarks he made to mark zuckerberg, who by the way in making this announcement acknowledged his company censored a lot of harmless content and fact-checkers have political bias. hailey is what the company will do going forward to. it is scrapping third-party fact-checking program but instead moving to a community notes program very similar to what you see on x right now. met his lifting restrictions on certain topics to talk about immigration, commands issues without being restricted and increasing political content for those who want it. it is moving content moderation and safety teams from california to texas and other states to
11:03 am
avoid political bias. met up will still use automated system for content moderation but will need to monitor for illegal and what it considers to be high severity violations like terrorism, child sexual exploitation and scams. the company new head of global affairs joe tells fox and his first and only tv interview since taking this job that president biden and his administration have been pushing for more censorship that those days are over. >> we saw a lot of societal and political pressure all in the direction of more content moderation, more censorship. we have a real opportunity now. we have a new administration and a new president coming in big defenders have free expression. that makes a difference what we do every day because we get back to free roads of free expression. >> even elon musk doesn't mind they still went out of x's playbook any posted on competitor platform x.
11:04 am
this is cool. seems to like it. >> john: meta officials, we lost our way but we are getting back on track to wear it all started. good to see you, sandra. >> sandra: martha maccallum, good to have you here. it seems like the changes are happening. i wonder why. >> it hearkens back to something president-elect said and wide-ranging news conference we all watched earlier. there is a lot of change going on here tobit is going on all over the world that honestly international companies. i think sandra and john, the market forces are at work here appear until they see what is working in terms of what people want on x go to the freedom to post things they want to post. they see they went very wrong and to president-elect trump credit when asked about this, i think they are headed a better direction. companies have the ability to move and change with times in the united states of america. i think that is what you are
11:05 am
seeing happen real time. people got tired of looking at things that were censored. rfk jr. the posting things about the vaccines during a course of covid and he was censored. he spoke on capitol hill about that a freedom of speech and heard on social forms which are supposed to operate as elon musk and others like a town hall, like a forum for people to exchange ideas. >> john: so here is the folks at home to follow along, the changes that meta talking about in third-party checking in the u.s. in community notes model and lift restrictions on some topics part of mainstream discourse. that, i'm sure, would include covid and origins masking as well let's vaccines. not legal and high severity violation and take more personalized approach to political content. you mention president trump. here is what he said about it a short time ago.
11:06 am
>> i watch the news conference, and i thought it was a very good news conference. honestly, i think they have come a long way, meta, facebook. >> john: in some ways what were they thinking kowtowing to the biden administration and people got banned from facebook and instagram and twitter as if it was called back then. they had some come to jesus moment or petrified of trump? >> that the leaders in social media, john and sandra, l, gee, here comes the weekly meeting where we will tell you what we want removed. it was done at this murky period of covid where the white house seemed to think that they were able to decide what people could and couldn't take in. think about dr. fauci thanking, "i am science." it is in the rate look back where we were told we had to think about a certain way and had to think how it was
11:07 am
transmitted and think about the lock down somewhat happen in our schools and the ground they are still trying to make up of the loss in learning. i think it will be more and more seen as a very dark period of censorship in the united states. i think you are seeing a turnaround. i think it will be welcome. >> sandra: martha, we heard a lot of the president-elect at the news conference earlier continuing trolling avenue canada as the 51st state. john and i have been talking about that. canada in the united states would be something. it should be a state. earlier on a social media post, "many people in canada will lab canada being the 51st state." he asked a question as of the things like this whether he would use military force to make something like that happen. here is the exchange. >> are you also considering military force to annexing choir? >> no, economic force because canada and the united states,
11:08 am
that would really be something here till you get rid of artificially drawn line, you take a look at what that looks like, and it would be much better for national security. don't forget, we basically protect them canada. >> sandra: only considering economic force considering president-elect trump. >> that was the second line of questioning in the first was about greenland and whether -- and pam all, greenland and panama whether he would consider incoming president using militay force in the situation and his very interesting response to that is, i'm not going to say. essentially, those things are on the table where national security's concern in those two places. he asked about canada and no, we wouldn't handle that with canada. i think out-of-the-box and some of these ideas are, this is what incoming president is thinking about. it is refreshing for most americans to heabout these ideas
11:09 am
and throwing them out there. he knows when he does this, he gets a response. to the government in the different places, all three of them, set up and take notice and greenland's prime minister said "no, thank you, we are not interested in this arrangement." they are open for discussion which is fascinating and a lot of exchange we haven't seen over the past four years. we have seen tight-lipped and very few press conferences. >> john: having grown up in canada and spent 32 years of my life there, one think that drives the canadian people crazy is coming down to the united states to go to vacation. a lot of people go to florida and disney world. you get 30 stance cut off the end of your dollar and everything is so much more expe. the flip side, it makes the exports much more attractive. but the idea european economic union sell arrangement between the united states and canada are you have common currency basically erased the border
11:10 am
economically. i think there are a lot of people that would look at that idea and say, you know, that makes sense to a large degree. >> as someone who grew up in canada i will ask you, what you think when president-elect trump say a lot of people in canada like this idea question marks me when i don't think they like the idea of becoming the 51st state although growing up in canada is coming across the lake from buffalo and southern california, that is where i want to live so i moved down in 1989. i don't think they want to become the 51st state, but i think some sort of economic arrangement that balance the currency would be something attractive. we understand that special information 39 has just touched down andrews air force base. this is something, martha, we will talk about the rest of the hour as jimmy carter the 39th president comes to washington for the light and stayed at the capitol ceremony at the navy me. in then thursday, the official
11:11 am
state funeral. your thoughts about this. >> obviously john and sandra when we witness the passing of american president, it is the most exclusive club in the world. those who understand the pressures and the responsibility of sitting behind the desk in the oval office in the white house is an extraordinary privilege and an extraordinary experience. jimmy carter was the 39th president of the united states. he was a one-term president. he lost to ronald reagan in 1980. aan a rest not unlike the curret election process we watched an extraordinary amount of the inflation of the country and gas lines at one point during the carter administration. i remember as a small child sitting in the backseat lined up for gas early in the morning because of that situation. it was a malaise period by his own admission in the united states. it was a tough time in many
11:12 am
ways. however, jimmy carter made the most of his post-presidency part of his life. he was a post president for 45 years. and he spent time building homes for habitat for humanity, traveling all around the globe to marry aerate poverty and child disease. so he was willing to run that himself over the years for the good. he will be remembered for all of these things in the coming days. >> sandra: right now this is the arrival ceremony taking place and will take place at joint base andrews and rall to the u.s. capital. we know that will happen on and the motorcade joint base andrews 30 minutes from now as we continue to watch this throughout the afternoon. spare carter landing at jpa and you mention a grand total of 34 laying in the state capitol rotunda. to that includes 12 presidents in the late president carter the 13th to lie in state as we watch
11:13 am
this the last president to lie in state george w. bush decembe. martha, yesterday i have the honor of speaking with jimmy carter's grandson, jason and he is a lovely man, and he was sharing his thoughts and memories of his grandfather. very personal ones. i asked him what he believes his legacy will be? he talked a lot about the faith he heard that from congressman in charge at congressmen as well. he was living out his faith every single day and brought that into the white house putting faith into action, his grandson talked about. sort of the memory you are hearing from a lot of those who live closely with the late president jimmy carter, martha. >> clearly, faith was a huge part of his life. he was conservative in many ways in his faith. talked early on about the importance of the life although he was open to the law as it allowed for that was
11:14 am
concerned in the country. this is a quote he said when he wrote about death, he said, " -- this was after his diagnosis 2015, "i found i was absolutely completely at ease about half. i am going to live again. he believed in heaven. and he spoke quite openly about his faith. we also many people close to him early on in his life, his father, his brother, to have his sisters all died of pancreatic cancer. so you can see why when he was diagnosed, he believed at that time he would die very quickly. he went on to teach, back to teaching sunday school. he ended up being able to do that another ten years. we had experimental cancer therapy which was effective and he led ten years and did the love that he loved to do, john periods pain when you know it is rather amazing that
11:15 am
diagnosis of brain cancer that he lived to be more than 100 ye. way of course remember the passing a year ago november at beloved wife, rosalynn carter. they had an incredible marriage marriage and mark meredith that joint base andrews as special air mission 39 which is the same aircraft the president of the united states take at this time it's not called air force one but special mission 39 as remains have jimmy carter arrived in washington, d.c.. in preparation for a series of ceremonies to take place the next few days. mark, what does it look like from where you are? >> john, good afternoon to you. tobit is an aircraft you have been on the presidential 747 and we normally see air force one when the sitting president is on there but now special air mission 39 in the ancient and shut off right now. it will be a 30 minute ceremony at joint base andrews and we are told that family and friends have the former president will be poured from the front of the
11:16 am
aircraft, that shot me are used to seeing the president getting on or off. we will also say that you be the truck with the presidential seal will go to the back of the 747 where we will see the cascade avenue president carter moved into that and lowered down. the ceremony at joint base andrews expected to take 30 minutes. there will be cannons going up as well as members of u.s. air force getting ready to play appear until the weather having an impact. you will not lead to many service members we saw here, john, to clear off the tarmac with snow and ice and so much has flowed through d.c. at the last couple of days. what we are expecting is this is one stop as many stops for president carter's entourage back here in the nation's capital. to a lot of effort put into a ceremony like this there is a lot of preparation like this for years. i know you were talking about the last time we saw this with
11:17 am
president george h.w. bush in december 2018. we will look to see if differences from previous presidential ceremonies. the first stop for president carter's casket u.s. navy memorial before he makes his way to the u.s. capitol rotunda. we will see the dignitaries pay respects to the capitol this evening before open to the public 7:00 tonight and tell him 12:00 and a chance tomorrow, the public can pay respects throughout the day before the funeral over at the national cathedral. as we are getting ready now and the hearse is an position, the motorcade ready to go. a number of street closures across washington, d.c., because expecting so many people to pay respects. a lot of effort coming into that specifically. as for president carter, i was waiting for thought about returning to washington because he came to washington as an outsider. of course, he is returning and a lot of focus on his legacy and what he was able to leave behind. and ou, martha, and sandra
11:18 am
talking what he did after office but that entourage had you in the people may have served in the carter administration some 40 years ago and what their thoughts might be coming back to a dare frank washington 101970s and early 1980s. we are expecting the ceremony to get underway once the casket is made from the back of the aircraft. it will be 30 minutes and told the media we are not allowed to speak and they consider this to be formal and sacred ceremony. they want to make sure it is seen that way, guys. >> sandra: for anybody tuning and air special mission 39 with carter landing at gaba. this is the beginning obviously a rifle ceremony joint base andrews maryland and funeral procession from the u.s. navy memorial to the u.s. capitol will follow in services at the u.s. capitol. that they end with carter light and stayed at the u.s. capitol 7:00 p.m. until midnight. the carter family invited the
11:19 am
public to honor and celebrate the former president. we also know, mark carter's grandchildren will serve as honorary pallbearers and participate the ceremonies at the u.s. capitol. i spoke with one of them yesterday and honorary pallbearers his grandson, jason. he was talking about the legacy of the president and also sharing personal stories, memories of grandfather as a peanut farmer, talking about his grandfatherly way with his two boys, his grandsons, great grandsons i should say 16 and 18 years old. he would take them fishing. some special memories of those he will leave behind, mark. >> absolutely, sandra. that is one of the most important things after momentous passing like this, people get a chance to reflect. also the focus on the scandal and the politics and the elections that come and go. it is interesting to hear them much more personal stories of
11:20 am
president carter. i would imagine we will hear more from those who got to know him over the years have serving in washington and the legacy left behind in the nation's capitol. i want to mention this was not the aircraft in service when president carter was in office. 707 much different aircraft and president reagan used when he retired and sits at the reagan library. the plane carrying president carter's body was not the one in service when he was in the white house, but obviously president biden as we have seen other presidents to offer full pomp and circumstance to former commander in chief and his family as a sign of respect. it is interesting in terms at the motorcade in the way things are set up trying to roll out as much as the red carpet as they can for the carter family to pay respects and show how much the country is thankful for service and for years and the white house and also time afterwards, sandra. >> sandra: mark meredith on the ground joint base andrews as
11:21 am
we continue to watch the ceremony there. mark, please stand by with us, thank you. >> john: 20 has debbie dingell great state of michigan a friend of vaccaro, carter's, jimmy and rosalynn. tell your thoughts as former president comes back to washington, d.c., and congressman, one last time. >> well, i'm sitting here watching, feeling sad and getting chills a bit of memory. i think that rituals and traditions are very important. you are watching one of the important ones have their democdemocracy. where we pay trade tribute to those who love their country and give public service and say a final goodbye. the military arrival at andrews and the way they will him hotel at the plating of the music, i s standing here thinking how many presidents i have participated ,
11:22 am
the grading at the rotunda attendant burial. a lot of memories. a lot of men who cared and loved this country. while there were disagreements between them, looked, there were disagreements between my husband, john and jamie, more than once, but they love each other in respect of each other. this was a man who loved his country. jimmy carter has gone home to be with rosalynn who i loved and the last decade of her life as well. >> sandra: we watch the ceremony continue at joint base andrews has we watch the former president make his final journey to the nation's capital. if you would, congresswoman, share with us what you believe his legacy will be. >> there is no question that jimmy carter showed the world how a former president should be. he does not get enough credit
11:23 am
for his legacy as president and the issues he worked on. and so many different areas. he came in at a very hard time. the country was still recovering from vietnam and the nixon days. they had great unrest in the mideast. that jimmy carter and rosalynn are responsible for the eradication of disease. how many homes did they help build for habitat for humanity? make homeless an issue that we all had to talk about. he was a christian that walk at every single day of his life. a person who knew what his responsibility was to be a member of the community. he was a good, good morning. >> john: congresswoman, if you would, standby with us as we see the ceremonial army guard and air force van without pomp and circumstance on the ground.
11:24 am
11:30 am
>> john: we have been watching the dignitaries has sample for what will be the start of the ceremonies in just a moment. they will play and for hills to the chief and the air force band will play "abide with me" as jimmy carter's remains from special air force 39 to the waiting hearse to transport to the navy memorial on pennsylvania avenue. sandra, if this is the fourth time in the last couple of decades we have seen this. ronald reagan 2004, gerald for,
11:31 am
and 2018. with each presidential funeral, the national pop and circumstance is in full display here giving both full military and civilian honors for the pollen president. >> sandra: they will have a special honor guard in washington when the rest washington the chairman joint chief of staff and the vice chair of joint chief of staff and chief of staff of the army and commander of the marine corps, chief of naval operations, chief staff that they are forced, chief of space operations coast guard, and many others as the ceremonies contine are looking lived air force he died at 100 years old as the 39th president and plains, georgia, december 29th when he passed and his son, chip carter brought that to the country's attention and we will all remember he entered hospice care back in february 2023. boy did he hang on as long as he could, john, and he made it to
11:32 am
100. >> john: a lot of people thought he would depart this earth before his beloved wife, rezulin. we saw in the funeral in attendance there and a chance to get have a look at him and his physical condition in many, many years. it was remarkable given his medical condition with brain cancer that he lived to be more than 100 years old as the oldest surviving president. regardless of your politics, moments like this are apolitical. this is a chance for this great nation to pay highest ship it to someone who served as chief executive officer. donald trump was remarkable after jimmy carter's passing, it is a very select club the president of the united states. you may have had differences politically or over policy, but when it comes to honoring the passing of a president, full

honors both militarily and civilian as he will lie in state the u.s. capitol this afternoon after this transition joint base andrews. pennsylvania avenue to u.s. native memorial. and then horse-drawn up pennsylvania avenue the remainder of the way to capitol hill. it will be a ceremony this afternoon. >> sandra: his family is so if you minutes ago right there as they filed out as part of the ceremony. are family remember he was a peanut farmer and a very tiny village deep south georgia and went on to become the president of the united states, the 39th president of the united states. you mention his wife alongside who we worked 77 years. his family remembering as humanitarian. they found at the carter center. he and rosalynn supporting habitat for humanity. speaking to his family, that is how they will remember him, a

thoughts. >> you know, i think it is important when we watch these moments in history. they are full of pomp and circumstance. they are rituals. we celebrate the traditions, the public service, and we do come together. i am very pleased president trump is coming to the funeral on thursday. it is a very select club that only knows the kind of pressure is, the decisions, the service that these men and women, they are spouses have given to the country. you know, he is a man of faith. i know he was looking forward to going home to god and to seeing his rosalynn. she was a unique woman, too. i spent the last ten years have her life working on caregiving, which continues to be one of the issues i care about. i think there is a part of me that remembers the history, remembers his work.
11:36 am
and today, i hope this is a moment that brings the country together. i take some solace that the two of them are together in heaven today. >> john: daba, jimmy carter passing a year and two months after beloved wife as well. jimmy carter is one of those presidents almost more famous for his post presidential work that he was for his record in office. most presidents when they leave office go into some form of retirement. ronald reagan went back to beloved ranch in california and george bush paints a lot. that jimmy carter threw himself into a democracy peacemaking around the world. i remember one particular event in 1984 when haiti was coming unglued and the military leader had taken over the presidency. in jimmy carter and colin powell were there port-au-prince and i but as at the time trying to
11:37 am
get him to leave the country. and the prime minister or the president at the time. it was coming down to the 11th hour and 59 seconds. the 82nd airborne had actually departed pope air force base and was going to invade haiti. we were all wondering why are carter and colin powell still there question mark why have they not left? it will get dangerous if the shooting starts. to his credit jimmy carter stayed until the very last possible moment and convinced him to leave haiti the 82nd airborne invasion was called off and there was a peaceful transition, peaceful as can get in haiti to a different president. and it really was congresswoman, remarkable feat of diplomacy on jimmy carter and colin powell's part led by jimmy carter, of course. who knows how many people would die in haiti had the 82nd
11:38 am
airborne had to launch invasion? the military secret service was hanging on and definitely would have been shooting back at the american forces. >> you are talking about two great man as you tell that story. i remember it well or two he was not afraid to go in and do what was right to try to bring people together, to find the common ground and to find the peace to try to save people's lives. unfortunately for him he worked so hard to bring iran hostages home and was unable to do it before he left office. but it was his work that helped get them home. talking about colin powell, that is another great man who believed in public service which of the two of them are respected each other and worked with each other. >> sandra: thank you very much, congresswoman for your thoughts. i want to bring martha maccallum back into the coverage as well as we say goodbye to the 39th president of the united states, jimmy carter.
11:39 am
11:44 am
>> john: all right so we say that casket loaded into the hearse which will depart in a motorcade for the naval memorial, which is on pennsylvania avenue between seventh and ninth streets where another ceremony will take place. that one probably about 45 minutes from now in which carter's remains and the casket will be transferred to a horse-drawn caisson. they will be a ceremonial procession of pennsylvania avenue to the capital where lie in state from 7:00 open at night to the public in a public ceremony and private member for congress at 4:30. than the public lie in state begins at 7:00 and ends at seven
11:45 am
thursday morning, sandra, before the grand funeral in celebration of life at the national cathedral. again, we have seen this three times in the recent past with ronald reagan the, gerald ford and bush 41. but is something to behold that's a beautiful place of worship. >> sandra: our own david spent sharing memories that they sit down he did with the former president back in 2009. he was talk about service and that may be. it struck me when he told david he and the interview, he said he was five years old when he knew he wanted to go to u.s. naval academy. that only president in history to graduate from u.s. naval academy. his father was in the army in world world war i, that he had a favorite uncle in the navy and that is what ultimately inspired him. that is a very neat story as the nation says its final goodbyes here to the late president as he
11:46 am
will then make his way to the nations capitol, his final journey to washington, d.c.,, john. >> john: let's bring in seth jacobs and economic development has a 21-year-old staffer under president carter and the ceremony, thank you for joining us will take place naval memoris quite significant. jimmy carter was lieutenant in the navy and graduated top ten in his class in 1946. he was stationed to board an experimental nuclear submarine. i know the chief naval operations admiral is part of this ceremonial honor guard of the joint chiefs of staff. said this really will be quite a moment that we have not seen in presidential history. >> john and sandra, thank you so much again for inviting me on. it is quite a momentous moment. if you think about it, he was a military man, submariner and worked on one of the first
11:47 am
nuclear subs here to give no, what is quite important that he goes to the naval base and then has those honors. i was thinking about it just spoke earlier about his casket being brought down pennsylvania avenue. remember on his inaugural, he got out of the car when at the first times ever done and he will be walking down. i was right behind him and it was quite special. this will be a special moment for those who worked with him and around him. you know -- sorry. >> sandra: sorry about that, seth. i believe we have a picture of the late president and his wife, rosalynn carter. >> that is me and rosalynn, yeah, you are right. >> sandra: i'm sorry, with a picture of you, seth. this is the first commencing this but tell us about this moment. >> a lot younger.
11:48 am
asked billy congressman dingell mentioned she did a lot of work for the agent and for care. one of the programs we worked on together was raising money for that issue. at that picture was very interesting because we were in the middle of the rose garden area outside of the rose garden. she turned to me and said, "you know, this is a great event, but how much do you think we will raise for the work i do?" she was always on it and a trooper until the end. i think, as you mentioned earlier, such a dedicated spouse. the two of them worked hand-in-hand everywhere. i think that speaks a lot to the time, right question mark if you remember back in 1976, republicans and democrats talk to each other more often and jimmy carter spoke with ronald reagan on occasions after he lost. there was a great deal of
11:49 am
bipartisanship. it is a different time and it is great as you all have mentioned they are honoring that time and the man who was special president. in his vio final address to the nation, i am looking forward to. white to earlier, in a remarkable status in post-presidency, right? he really, really focused on all the great things going on. it was a long time ago and i was very young at the time that it was remarkable. i think he also doesn't get credit for some of the other things. he started two agencies, education agency and department of energy. he was a diplomat, first and foremost, john, your description what he did in haiti. the modern-day diplomat of today takes a lot from the model of jimmy carter.
11:50 am
>> john: he had a lot of experience in haiti and work there seven years prior to the confrontation confrontation there between president clinton and follow savior is. the manage he brokered a peace was quite remarkable. it is interesting to me and maybe you can talk about this is most presidents go into pretty much retirement. now ronald reagan obviously was older and he sat with creeping dementia at that point and alzheimer's disease. said he really did just go into retirement. we also sell president clinton active but no one has been as active as i think president jimmy carter was with the work of the senator and observing elections all around the world and really promoting democracy and human rights as well. what was driving him to want to did that in post-presidency as opposed to smelling the peanuts, as it were?
11:51 am
>> you know and she said earlier, i think it was his love of the country and love of democracy. the carter center i think resolved over 100 in the country the last 30 years. there have been a number of things written about him but to your point, i think he felt as a man of faith, it was his responsibility to continue to serve. sandra, you are martha spoke to that. surface was his method. and he spoke to it every day. i remember getting calls after the presidency to help him on a trip to africa. all of us who work in the presidency or the white house or in agencies all sort of took pleasure in working with him post-presidency because of his dedication and because also, it was totally nonpartisan as you
11:52 am
mentioned earlier. it was all about helping people. they are attributes coming in all over the world of people, individuals, who he touched as part of the carter center work. >> sandra: you know, seth, and other piece of information about the ceremony state was brought to the attention about the rotunda ceremony and a special request from the carter family that they wanted the podium to sit in front of the gerald ford statute as people make remarks tonight. they are saying the family, this is deep and close personal friendship carter had with president ford. an odd couple and sometimes known underlined bipartisanship and the way they want carter to be remembered as reaching across the aisle. and a message to the nation watching as carter returns to a much different washington then he laughed. i wonder, seth, if you would like to weigh in on that. >> you know, sandra, excellent point. i have been in touch with the family the last couple of days
11:53 am
and that is absolutely correct. jimmy harold ford and jimmy carter spoke around the issue of how to be a president and what was the most effective way of being presidential. he spoke to him all the time about issues. gerald ford was a man of the congress and jimmy carter was a peanut farmer coming from georgia. said they have this close personal relationship that really was over a decade same time. gerald ford had a very tough presidency as well. i think the two of them kind of vomited over that. i remember the early early days of the administration where carter would reach out and talk to not only gerald ford by other members of congress to really get an understanding. i think the family is doing a wonderful, wonderful service not only to the relationship, but also to a allowing all the other communities and people to
11:54 am
come and be a part of the man and the people. that is really how he saw himself. >> john: seth, thank you for joining us for sharing thoughts about the former president. we really appreciate it. as we look at the motorcade to, a unique shot and i didn't know we were going to have this. this is the motorcade departing joint base andrews. i have driven there a number of times mos serves, the way to get back the parkway. and comes in southeast washington, d.c., passed the national stadium. and then wind their way up to pennsylvania avenue between seventh and ninth street, which is where the navy memorial is and that may memorial dissenters center, which is where this other ceremony will take place for the president's casket from the hearse to horse-drawn caisson. then there will be procession up pennsylvania avenue. i was driving in this morning and the amount of activity on
