we could see it from our house and it was moving east. we were not in knowa evacuation zone or warning zone. we have little girls, you are desperately trying to nail bedtime, we put them to sleep. i would monitor and go up and check on it. it was still far away and 3:00 in the morning, i realized our house is filled with smoke. i couldn't see the fire anymore. i thought they had put out the fire and it was smoke coming down. i felt like the lord was like, go look more. i went up the mountain and discovered the fire had jumped and had not been reported yet. i called her and said, don't freak out, start getting the

girls up, i'm racing back, we got the girls in the car and sent them off. we had packed a couple pairs of clothes each. >> two outfits for the girls. i left in just my pajamas. we did not bring clothes for ourselves, we're trying to pick up the pieces. >> your girls are three years old and 17 months old. your house was burned to the ground, all the baby things, mementos and memories. thank god you are safe and so are your beautiful babies. i want to highlight extraordinary help you are receiving from your community. tell us about that. i imagine people who need help themselves are pitching in to help others. >> absolutely.

our community has shown up for us in a major way, i've never felt so loved in my entire life. it is overwhelming. people need groceries, people checking on them, donations across the board. some children are sleeping at their offices, they are sleeping at their businesses on the floor and concrete. we have beds in a community that has lifted us up. >> i feel incredibly blessed, our community surrendered us and started a gofund me. we have fire insurance in effect. i'm in real estate, we saw this ha happening last year, state farm dropped 72,000 people over the last year. i know people who lost fire

insurance five days before this. not only do they have loving community, they don't have hope, don't have a payout from insurance, nothing. we want to figure out a way to help those people. i at that time, i sit on board of a nonprofit called serve ministry. i said, we have neighbors and people we know that are suffering in ways we want to help. we decided anything that comes into the ministry, we will give directly to those people. we have a huge support system. it has been incredible to see what people have come out to do for us. >> carley: remarkable to say you feel more blessed after this fire took your home because you got to see the beauty in humanity and individuals helping you and others and you are doing
