some of this. palisades village is a very close-knit town. all of our neighbors know each other. it is an amazing place. we were all coming back from christmas vacation and on tuesday i was out walking my dog. it was a sunny, beautiful day. i walk around the corner and see a plume of smoke over the hills to left of where the village was. as i'm watching and my neighbors are stopping to watch, it is consuming over the hilltop. you can see the flames easily 50 to 100 foot flames and pace it was moving toward us stopped us in our tracks. everybody ran back to evacuate and so i ran back to wake my daughters up and get her moving

from the house and evacuate. we were in our car, we started getting reports that people were stuck there cars and the fire was consuming them and they were forced to a abandon their cars d run to the beach. this involved them getting bulldozers and bulldozing cars out of the way to let fire trucks in. my neighbors were like, that is completely blocked because of c cars. pacific coast highway, people were trying to evacuate and there was a fire on sunset. we could not evacuate straight away and stood there watching as the fire progressed over the hills. the winds were so bad that day that how fast it was consuming hilltops, all neighbors watching and trying to evacuate, a

90-year-old across the street who had a caregiver and people with children were pulling them off the bus, were in denial it would come to town. we could see planes dumping water. in order for it to hit our houses, it would have to burn the whole town down. there was disbelief the town would be consumed. it was when we saw it over the hill that we had been told we would not evacuate, we all left because we could see it barrelling through to the town. we got out -- >> todd: chilling description and sorry to interrupt you. what comes next? how tough has it been for you to find housing where you are going to live next with so many other people from your community trying to do the same thing? >> yes, it has been extremely difficult. everywhere you go to find, there

is eight or nine families trying for the same. we have looked to go further away but my daughters were in the high school, senior and freshman and it was traumatic to be away from friends or go to a community where none of the children have experienced that. we go to places and they would have four or five pocket listings and eight or nine families waiting to do that. there was bidding wars and things would disappear. it was impossible. last night we found an apartment, two bedroom apartment we finally got and were able to sign. it's been close to a week of staying with my fellow veterans and driving up there to hit the day and go to as many places as

more so and that is frightening. >> janice: in a particularly dangerous situation again for the areas that have wildfires burning out of control. new wildfire that cropped up last night. otto fire zero percent containment. 50 acres burned. the winds can spread them. that is the unfortunate thing, mother nature is not helping. we have perfect conditions for igniting of wildfires and spreading. current winds not bad right now. we are starting to see 25 mile per hour in oxnard. they will pick up. wind gusts, 20 miles per hour and firefighters can handle this. when we see potential for wind gusts 50 to 70 mile per hour things get challenging.

would have obtained conviction, it is not rebutting and does not go through due process system. defense does not have opportunity to respond or call witnesses that are necessary to get to fair and reasonable conclusion in a criminal case. i see this jack smith putting forth more of what he's put forth to the court and does not change anybody's assessment in the case. >> todd: so many important points, especially on due process front. it needs to be driven home, good luck finding one pros the cuter anywhere in history who does not think they would have won their case if they lose it or it is dismissed and you drove home that point perfectly. in his opening letter jack smith says it is laughable to think biden white house influenced the

prosecution of trump. what do you say to that, andrew? >> politics was most clearly behind this. jack smith really took great efforts to talk about himself and the prosecutors on his team and call them the most honest and valuable prosecutors that have gone through something like this. he is being very hyper bollic in how much he is trying to credit himself and his team in discretion they seem to have had. now were they directly influenced by it is biden administration? we don't have that specific evidence but politics is at hand here. look at what the democratic party and left said about intention about donald trump when he was out of office and it was a very dedicated lawfare

>> carley: state farm has been in the news whether maybe by no fault of their own canceling policies ahead of this horrific fire. >> todd: going to the psyche of those suffering what do you think it does to have some of the players and coaches who you are watching perform that you are rooting for actually have going -- they are going through the same thing as well, some of their homes have burned. they have it to relocate their families. what do you think that does to the psyche of the people that are suffering so much? >> man, i can't even imagine. i was just saying last night i know j.j. reddick home coach of the lakers his home burned down living in pacific palisades with his family. i can't imagine having to be tasked with coach game having so much -- you have so many people relying on you but your whole world is in shambles. i just have to imagine if you are able to get through adversity like this and have you your team alongside you and it really does a lot. hopefully later on in the season when there are smaller fish to fry it really means nothing and so much more capabilities.
