6:00 pm
let's do texts. bruce from holiday utah, could you have kept your cool with all those democrats screaming at you? stoicism. of course i've -- of course i could've. headset is more general than warren is indian. gym from indiana, i don't think michelle is proud of her country anymore. evelyn from north carolina, may be doesn't know how to dance to the ymca. i've seen her dance and i know she can dance. i'm just worried about why he can't get her to come to d.c. none of my business i will stay out of it. remember to dvr the show and always remember i'm waters and this is my world.
6:01 pm
>> sean: welcome to hannity. a huge day on capitol hill, the very first confirmation hearing of the neutron era is now in the books and the president-elect's pick for defence secretary, pete hegseth, did a phenomenal job. he dominated the room. senate democrats looked foolish, petty, unprofessional, desperate and he did it with dignity and grace. the same could not be said for the minority party in the u.s. senate, as i predicted, i told you they would revert to form and revert to their default position which is to smear, slander, besmirched, attack and waste everybody's time. while they should have been asking questions about hypersonic missile technology. the gap of vulnerability in our military, the next generation of warfare. future wars will be fought in air-conditioned offices, not on battlefields while they should have been concerned about donald trump's idea for a dome and military dominance.
6:02 pm
they were not. instead the senators just attempted the predictable. identity politics, a woke military, di, their top concern. there are almost no questions about pete hegseth's qualifications, his real vision and real achievements. nothing about his military deployments for the most part to iraq, afghanistan. several senators screaming and shouting and putting on a show all while pushing these personal attacks. you've got to give the worst performance, that belonged to tim kane of all people. i found it actually comical. the line of questioning today, in one way it was creepy. it was beyond unprofessional, degrading, hypocritical but not just to peach, his entire family. i was the sad part.
6:03 pm
he evoked headsets young daughter and wife. 's behaviour was disgraceful and beneath the office that he supposedly serves but it was also so hypocritical. let's take a look at your screen this was tim kane, he was hillary clinton's running mate when they lost in 2016 and here is tim kane, to take a look right there. gazing lovingly into bill clinton's eyes. here he has next to clinton with a creepy grin from ear to ear. and a big thumbs up. did he ever ask bill clinton about the allegation of... are bill clinton exposing himself to paula jones or his relationship with monica lewinsky. or the sexual assault allegations. no, i don't think he ever did. he was perfectly fine never bringing up real allegations of
6:04 pm
bill clinton, sexual assault, exposing himself, having with an intern and the democrats picked the perfect guy to drown them selves and hypocrisy. just to see if you can spot the difference between cain's rhetoric surrounding clinton versus his questioning today. it's not hard to pick up. >> you think you are completely clear because he committed no crime, that's your definition of clear to. you had just fathered a child two months before by a woman that was not your wife. i'm shocked that you would stand here and say you are completely cleared. >> something you said into thousand to about former president bill clinton that he should resign if the scandal turned out to be true. do you still hold true? 's. >> i had some feelings of disappointment back in. it's now 20 years old. >> now i'm thinking about what we do to help this country be
6:05 pm
strong. past controversies don't have anything to do with that question. >> sean: tim kane loser always has been. always will be, classless self-important career politician with few actual real achievements. pete hegseth was serving in iraq and afghanistan. tim kane was running for office over and over again. he is the embodiment of everything that is wrong with the washington swamp but he's not alone. today many democratic senators disgrace themselves. at one point elizabeth warren galt -- almost got left out of the room. >> will you put your money wear your mouth is and agree that when you leave this job you will not work for the defence industry for ten years? >> that's not even a question i've thought about because it's not one -- my motivation for this job. >> i just need a "yes" or "no"
6:06 pm
here, time is short. i need a "yes" or "no". >> i would consult with the president what the policy. >> you are quite sure that every general who serves should not go directly into the defence industry for ten years. you are not willing to make that same pledge. >> i'm not a general senator. >> sean: it such a waste of time, a colossal waste of time. they also looked foolish after exposing a real problem with the u.s. military,. >> the statements you said about people who have views differently than you, that were the enemy. are you saying 50% of the dod if they hold liberal views or leftist views are not welcome in the military, are you saying that? >> i volunteered to deploy to afghanistan under democrat president barack obama.
6:07 pm
i volunteered to guard the inauguration of joe biden but was denied the opportunity to serve because i was identified as an extremist by my own unit for a christian tattoo. >> selective outrage as usual. democrats attack pete hegseth not for being a democrat. they attacked him for having a tattoo of a cross. he believes in and he mentioned his personal lord and saviour. the thought of it. they attacked him over his personal life, even suggested he was an alcoholic. he might have had to rings at functions like most people. no one on capitol hill whatever do that right? mark twain mullen, look at this. looks like a little party, they are pulling out the beer. is that tim kane? they exposed that incredible display of hypocrisy take a look at. >> the senator starts bring up the fact that what if you showed up drunk do your job.
6:08 pm
how many senators have shown up drunk to vote at night? have any of you guys ask him to step down and resign from the job? don't tell me you haven't seen it because i know you have. how many senators do you know have got a divorce before cheating on their wives. did you ask them to step down? no. but it's for show. you make sure you make a big show and point out the hypocrisy because the man has made a mistake. and you want to sit there and say he's not qualified, give me a joke. it is so ridiculous that you hold yourself as this higher standard and you forget you got to big plank in your eye. >> sean: the democratic party are filled with liars, hypocrites who will say and do anything for political power and above all else that's all they care about. they just hate trump, they hate his nominees no matter what. the good news tonight, they did
6:09 pm
not they are glove on pete hegseth. he should and absolutely will be confirmed. he has a lot of very critical work to get done, not that they talked about that today, on top of falling behind on military technology, our military recruitment numbers are in the dumps. he will help in a major way there. dei has weakened morale and hurt our military preparedness and readiness. shipbuilding falling behind, china equipping our production. inheriting a huge gap of vulnerability and our defence capabilities. our adversaries are more emboldened than ever. why did china and russia have hypersonic missile technology that is manoeuvrable and we don't? what other systems are we behind on? we better catch up. democrats didn't want to talk about any of that. they are not bringing a single new idea to the table. our military was not our top
6:10 pm
priority for them today. they are only goal was to smear pete hegseth and not ask him about his vision for the department of defense. sadly, just buckle up, expect this for every single trump nominee and expect them to fail every single time. pete hegseth is the right man for the job, should be confirmed as quickly as possible. incoming national security advisor, i great strong endorsement and introduction today, congressman mike waltz. we had a private conversation recently. and that private conversation, we spent maybe 15 or 20 minutes on the floor talking together. we talked more about the threats this country is facing and the challenges the president trump is facing, the gap of vulnerability, hypersonic technology. the next generation of warfare. more than they did in an entire
6:11 pm
day today. it was such a colossal waste of time. you're thoughts. >> you're absolutely right, especially on the waste of time when they were such huge issues before the defence department and before the country. i pointed out they've been having hearing after hearing in that room. we do the same in the house armed services committee. on the poor state of our bearing's for our soldiers. should we privatize them, should the military keep running those things as government run. our health care issues for the military. how to incorporate ai. why is software so bad. china is passing 400 ships, the u.s. navy is cruising towards half that number. and those are tough questions. they are not easy answers.
6:12 pm
instead of asking about his vision they just went for the smear. let me tell you the good news. what you couldn't see on the cameras was the room full of lawyers that had stacked that room and were standing outside, standing room only. there to support people because he knows he's a leader. he is a junior officer that was on the front lines, not in the headquarters, of these wars on terror, these wars in the middle east and we were all out there as the policy just drifted and how we got decades and decades of war that devastated the country financially. and a whole generation of americans. he is going to lead, they want him to lead and it's the support of the troops that you can see in his heart. you can see the authenticity that i think really came out today in a hugely positive way and just creamed the democrat smear campaign.
6:13 pm
>> i support elon musk and viv beck ramaswamy and their vision to cut $2 trillion in spending. i also know we need to save social security and medicare from insolvency. i also know that we have to find known terrorists,, murderers, cartel members, gang members and we have to deport all of them. i know that we have to end this gap of vulnerability and prepare for the next generation of warfare. to me the biggest source of revenue is going to be energy dominance. that is the only outlet we have and we do have nearly 40 trillion in debt that we are going to have to pay back. >> that's right. everything that you just laid out, president trump has a vision to address. number 1, this is why our allies have to step up from canada, who pledged to get to the bare minimum of 2% ten years ago and
6:14 pm
it trudeau has a plan to get there ten years from now. he's pointed out that's on acceptable. half of our allies are on acceptable. i met with the japanese and they are going to meet their 2% minimum but this is why our allies have to shoulder their fair share. the pentagon has got to spend more efficiently. in one hearing i held up a bag of bolts. it's $90,000 for it to be dod certified. they are a couple hundred bucks in a hardware store. if you look at the business people that are going to be under pete's that are going to help him implement that president trump and his team are putting in place, they are going to drive efficiency. along with doge. i think we need wholesale reforms on how technology is introduced into our military. it's okay to iterate and to
6:15 pm
innovate and to fail. we don't need four or five big defence contractors trying to reinvent the wheel on a tenure timeline. >> you will be at work in just a few days and it can't be soon enough. we're so glad glad you got the position. >> pete knows all these things. we are going to get him confirmed and we are going to do big things for president trump. [simultaneous talking] >> sean: i've had more substantive conversations with pete hegseth on issues that we discuss then happened in that room today. it was a waste of time. we appreciate it. now all democrats were running a smear campaign all day on capitol hill, they asked important questions about the department that hag seth has been picked to lead. >> how many genders are there? >> there are two genders. >> i'm on board. how many rounds of 556 can you
6:16 pm
fit into the magazine of an m4 rifle. >> depends on the magazine but standard issue is 30. >> what size around it does the m9 beretta standard issue sidearm for the month -- for the military fire. >> nine millimetres senator. >> what kind of batteries do you put in your night vision goggles? >> duracell. >> right there you are representing qualifications that show you understand what the war fighter deals with every single day on the battlefield. you understand what happens on the front line were our troops will be. and what happens unfortunately in this country is decisions made in rooms like this, bad decisions, end up in... those americans rarely come from families that sit in rooms like this. >> sean: you know senator, some of the allegations like drinking for example.
6:17 pm
numerous people work every single week with pete, the question about drinking was debunked by every single one of them. number 2, knowing him myself for as many years as i have, this man eats, breeds, sleeps, lives military. the men and women in combat every single day. this is his life's passion, his mission. did he hit a rough road at one point nearly a decade ago? sure. he's been honest, he moved on, he checked that box and changed his life. why wasn't there more substance today? >> we all knew it was coming. this is what they did to clarence thomas and brett cavanaugh. when they can't argue on policy or substance, when they know that they are wrong with what the american people want, this is what the democrats due. they resort to smear, anonymous allegations, character assassination because they know they can't talk about the disgrace of the afghan
6:18 pm
withdrawal. they can't talk about the state of our military recruitment. can't build enough planes or ships. we haven't won a war in a long time and our military spending three times more on di initiatives that we were four years ago. they know that on policy the u.s. department of defense is in tatters right now. therefore they couldn't spend two seconds talking about policy we support him and that's why my questions were directed away there wear. i want to remind people what this job is really about and supporting the war fighter and protecting america. >> it was one of the few moments along with some other republicans of substance which was desperately needed. they spend so much time on issues involving identity politics. and women in combat. that's a fair issue. he answered it. they did need to go back again and again. his answer was yes, i support women in combat. but the standards have to be same.
6:19 pm
you don't lower standards. we have that l.a. firefighters saying if a guy is stuck in a fire, it's too bad he's in the wrong place if i have to go pull him out. that's not a good answer. >> i made a very wise life decision and i married up. my wife was a marine corps officer, unlucky should be -- she spends every day with me. she's a combat veteran of afghanistan. she will be the first to tell you that she would never want to be held to a different standard than any other marine that she served with. pete just like i have no problem with wenham -- with women in uniform. they are great warriors. weekly not -- cannot create multiple standards that create a denigration of our ability to fight and win wars. that is exactly what we've seen is they've put... they decided to do social engineering with our military. the results speak for themselves. readiness of our aircraft and ships is at an all-time low and we have the greatest military
6:20 pm
failure in afghanistan in a generation. we need a new generation of leaders across the board but especially in this department. we need someone who's good to be a disrupter, a fighter and he's going to look at things outside the box. we've been thinking outside the box for way too long and look were it's gotten us. >> sean: will he be confirmed? >> i believe he will. we haven't voted yet but i think he's got the support he needs and he's got my support. >> sean: i thought you were very substantive today and we needed it. in light of everything else going on in that room. joining us now, fox news contributor joey jones is with us. what was your reaction to everything? >> he probably exercise more restraint and i could've, especially with tim kane and even timmy duckworth. i hate that she lost her legs, i know something about that but you can set up there and talk about how this military should be conducted without the attacks
6:21 pm
you look at senator warren gets on him about this 10-year deal, i want to explain, the reason why they do that, they are playing games and pete was a step ahead. if he made a very likely want to pledge to not go into the defence industry after ten years, but if he says that they are going to use that. every single nominee after him. it's a catch-22. some of those questions he didn't answer because they are not going to use them against him, theory going to use it to box into a corner every trump nominee. the games they play today where unbecoming of the office of senator when it comes to trying to defend our country. >> for all the people that actually have served, i think they are the people that know about the rank and file. i really would like to get military preparedness to the level we needed at. i would like to see recruitment change and i would like di and the woke military to die a quick
6:22 pm
death. will that happen? >> i get will. i've spoken to roughly 30 marines, soldiers, the majority of our military is just dying for this to go away. a lot of them have left because it wouldn't. i'm going to explain something. they had the interaction, they said those quotas don't exist. they don't exist on paper but if you are the person that failed a female in a physical fitness test, don't think you are brought into an office and questioned. when you do a pull-up test, it is subjective. they say was that a pull up or wasn't it. they may counter fifth pull up three times before they go to number 6 because you are not going down far enough. this idea that these members have come to pete and told him we can't perform this way because if we fail them, even
6:23 pm
though it's objectively true, we're going to be in trouble. that's the kind of thing that needs to go away. >> sean: you are a hero to. here's my prediction. i would say recruitment will go way up and di will have a quick death under donald trump and pete hegseth. there is my prediction, take it to the bank. coming up the left sinking to knew lows ahead of donald trump's inauguration including petty behaviour from kamala harris and her office. reacting to the lunatics are not hit show the view straight ahead. narrator: ontario, canada, your third-largest trading partner and number one export destination for 17 states. our economic partnership keeps millions of americans working. we're here, right by your side. [title: ontario, canada] [title: ontario.ca/partner] [title: paid for by the government of ontario]

6:27 pm
>> sean: you remember michelle obama saying when they go low we go high. apparently those days are officially over.
6:28 pm
she is not going to don't trump's inauguration and neither are several house democrats including aoc, congress woman presley, many others. looks like they are adopting the attitude of obama wingmen which is they go low we kick them. tonight vice president-elect j.d. vance and his wife are parents, they have three young children under the age of age. they will be moving into the naval observatory soon. they wanted to know how to make it say for their children so they reached out to kamala harris' office. apparently staffers simply refused to answer their questions. they had to rely on the permanent navy staffers who run the residents to get the answers they needed. she's extremely better going out the door. they have both been trying to sabotage the incoming
6:29 pm
administration. it has even come after carrie underwood. who wants to politicize her? and she's going to be performing america the beautiful. they talked a lot about unity on the left. they don't mean it. during trump's inauguration ceremony rascal flatts will be there, the village people will be there. here's what the ladies on that hard-hitting news show on abc disney had to say about that. >> she's going to become an icon of the american right. she's going to make a lot of money off of it so i get why she did it. >> i wouldn't do it. [please stand by]
6:30 pm
>> if i believe i have the right to make up my mind to go perform someplace, they have the same right. i have to support. doesn't mean i'm particularly interested, i won't be watching. >> sean: they can't help themselves. author of the children's book god's masterpiece, elizabeth hassell back is with us. don't you miss sitting at the table, you must really miss that noise. you've got to miss it. >> deep down i am missing out. i'm thankful to be here with you. this is safe territory. i would've loved to been at that table, they refused to put anyone there who has a lick of sense. when those comments got passed around, even will be goldberg could not agree with the outlandish remark. they want us to in the name of liberal tolerance at its best. this is what we are seeing.
6:31 pm
she wants us to believe that carrie underwood, who won "american idol" by american boats, who had a tour called all-american girl, who has spent more time on tours serving and helping and donating money to our nation's finest and their families and our veterans. it's about to perform america the beautiful at the historic event of the inauguration of the president of the united states of america. and that she's un-american. it is so ridiculous. >> it's as though the election never stopped for them. they just cling to their hatred of donald trump which is fine, i have no problem with that at all. like a lot of these late-night comedy shows that no longer have anybody watching them and they are officially on cancellation notice because they are not going to survive. i don't think the view will survive ultimately. they start out by alienating half the country.
6:32 pm
but that's only part of it. they also continually lie to their audience and i would argue that any content provider moving forward that is going to have any level of success, they are not going to get away with what msdn c and fake news cnn do in -- that is lie to their audiences and are so partisan and pretend to be journalists. that's not going to survive any longer. >> you just put a dart right in the centre. this is all i have to say. you are 100% right. when we see, we know joy and i've known carrie as long as i've known joy. i will say this, what joy is up to it as nothing more than selfish personal publicity game. she wants to attach her name to
6:33 pm
carrie underwood's name so she maintains relevance. even considering that we cannot let a dysmorphic lies sit out there in the air. it has to be extinguished that's what we're doing tonight. what we know to be true is that it's more un-american to call someone un-american for exercising their american rights. if every person that shows up on her aunt -- on inauguration day un-american, is that what joy is saying, if you show up there and do your job, she's a woman who says she's for women and strong working women, that's a lie. she should be supporting carrie underwood and they are a great woman. she can learn a lot because carrie surrounds herself but people don't always agree with her politically are posture themselves precisely how she does. >> sean: i have no idea. >> she could learn. >> sean: i have no idea what carrie underwood's politics are and i don't care.
6:34 pm
i don't know what rascal flatts politics are, i just like their music. i'm glad they are going to be there. it's going to be a fun night. probably not a lot of fun for kamala supporters. >> i'm thinking about going. we have to work out some calendar issues here. i think it's a historic events. if you have the opportunity as an american to be part of something this great you should. >> sean: i'm even going to get dressed up one night only. i will get really dressed up. thank you. >> you have yourself a good time >> sean: it's been four long years out in the wilderness. i will have a great time. we come back the country turns on california's liberal leadership after their failed response to the historic wildfires. speaker johnson saying it probably needs to be conditions for disaster aid.

>> sean: in the wake of california's devastating wildfires, the incompetence of the states liberal leadership is now on full display for the entire country to see. l.a. began a project aimed at enhancing fire safety. guess were? in pacific palisades, the side of the most destructive fire in california history. but the project was halted after members of the climate alarmist religious cult had a meltdown over the damage being done. all say it like joe biden. no joke, serious.
6:40 pm
to shrub, a tree, as shrub. one -- when discussing possible disaster aid, mike johnson said certain conditions may need to be met. take a look. >> we will have a serious conversation about that. there is been water resource mismanagement. forest management, mistakes, all sorts of problems. it does come down to leadership and it appears to us that state and local leaders were derelict in their duty in many respects. that is something that has to be ... i think there should be conditions on that. that's my personal view, we will see what the censuses. >> the speaker is correct. any eight has got to insist that the science of forestry be implemented so you the american people, you don't have to keep bailing people out periods are predictable santa ana winds.
6:41 pm
they are to print -- predictable wildfires. they have to do things like controlled burns and maybe not put a little shrub above the safety of people's life blood their home. patrick that david highlighted the cost of construction, came up with five possible solutions that the governor , the state could use to pay for it. you can ask trump and taxpayers for help. he could raise california's already high taxes even more. you contacts the billionaires. you hear about that, chase them out of callow -- out of california even more. laymen deflect or resign which is never going to happen. he's the host of the pbd podcast. he is with us. you are a part owner of the new york yankees, how did you pull that off? >> it's great to be on with you. one day i get a call from a man
6:42 pm
named bob saying on here you're interested in being an owner of the yankees. i said yes. year and a half later, everything that happened i became a minority owner which was a very special day. >> they never called me. i would've been very interested if i can get even a half a share. thanks for being with us. to me this is simple. basic forestry, science management, clear brush, fire retardant building materials, controlled burns. put the lives and the homes of people above upland. let's start there. why aren't they doing that? >> bad policies have consequences. we saw this when california came up with all these policies. i lived there for 24 years. you started seeing a mass exodus. first time since 1851 were the net migration was negative in california. if you look at the numbers from
6:43 pm
july 2020 till april of 2024, the number 1 state with negative migration -- net negative migration is the state of california. 1.234 million people left the state due to covid policies. those folks left because they were sick of their kids not going to school and sick of not having a life. they wanted to go to a restaurant. may be the move to texas are florida. the exodus we are about to see, they call it los angeles to .0, i call it california exit is to .0. the average age is 37 years old. think about when you and i were 37 years old, what events were taking place. maybe you were having a kid are your second one, you are thinking about starting a business or a career change. let's process this together. you sit there if you choose to buy a house in california, you have to ask yourself this question. do the current leaders of california come up with the policies protect you from a future earthquake, protect you from a future fire, protect you
6:44 pm
from preventing insurance companies prices going up. do you believe that's going to happen? the answer is no. if you choose to build a house and you want to rebuild, how long do you think it's going to take to get those permits? number 3 if you choose to have kids, why would you raise your kids in the school system of california, no matter what part of california you are in. number 4, if you choose to start a small business in california, do you think... they've got $24 billion of taxpayers money and homelessness went out. we have 770,000 homeless people in america. 181 is in california. this man has been the governor for six years. the lieutenant governor for eight years. 's policies have destroyed a wants great state. this is why you saw that tweet. >> we have hydrants that don't work. we have empty reservoirs.
6:45 pm
we find out $650 million allocated to make the port of l.a. green. we found out that the state, that they have $2.6 billion allocated for firefighting but 101 million dollars was cut from that. we know that the city of los angeles caught money. we know that they are spending $100 billion on electric vehicles. we know that the city of los angeles is spending 800 grand on electric street sweepers but they are cutting the fire department budget. how do you fix stupid? it's all stupid and it's all preventable. >> you saw the exchange were they said i will never leave the states, i will never go abroad. she left a five times. the leaders are now leading that state.
6:46 pm
the palisades, you look at all the fires. 80,000 acres, 24 death toll that we know about right now. $250 billion of damages today. reservoir... 117 million gallons of water it can have. since february of last year it's been zero. because it was a whole and the cover that they had... that was 1 mile away from the fire that took place. we can look at so many different angles. it's just bad policies. they sit there thinking people are knocking to believe it. maybe holy but doesn't leave, maybe the boomers that have lived there for a while it won't leave. maybe some of the folks that are sitting there that have family ties don't leave. but that 35 to 45-year-old that knows the next 20 years are would it be the best moneymaking years of their careers, they're looking at it and they're looking at florida and texas. >> i can't blame them. they don't get a penny unless they adopt the science of
6:47 pm
forestry so that the american taxpayer won't have to give one more penny to california. in many ways they should have to fix this themselves. they elected these people. they wanted these environmental radicals in office and this is what they got. sadly i bet they elect kamala next. that's pathetic. we come back, joe biden, kamala harris continue to embarrass themselves on the way out of the white house. wait until you see what happen this time. we will show you next. the tunnel to towers foundation and the congressional medal of honor society recognizes valor beyond the call of duty. britt slabinski, a recipient of the medal of honor himself, sat down with fellow recipients to hear their stories from their military service to their transition into the veteran community. it■s nothing we won, right? we're pretty vocal on that, saying, look, i didn't win anything like we're a recipient of this. you're going to highlight me for the day.

we're four guys get killed. never crossed my mind about receiving the medal of honor. never. i was told i was being put in for it the day after the battle. the highest level of valor. you want to understand, why did these people lose their lives? why aren't they in my place? can't refuse it. we don't have the wear if you don't want to. they feel you earned it. people think war ends the moment you get home. no. war sticks with you. for me, it was like i was in a fog. really? for. for several months. you're literally on the edge of life and death at any moment. and then 12 hours later, you're at home and you're going to birthday parties and you have to go back to assimilating that life. it's fascinating how many of our brothers and sisters. it■s a significant problem. end up on the streets. tunnel to towers is taking a leadership role. and specifically when i think about the veteran homeless population. we as an organization, we have gaps and it takes partnerships to come in and help us fill those gaps to ensure that nobody is left behind.

and that's what tunnel to towers does. we just recently gave them our citizen honors award, recognizing all the great work that they have done. it's a fulfilling a promise to this nation, saying that, tunnel towers is gonna give you smart homes, pay mortgages. there's no level of recognition that rises to what is being done on behalf of those gold star families. and we're not forgetting you. never forget. go to t2t.org and donate $11 a month. thank you.
