her in that situation. it was a huge shock. actually i think when it was confirmed, when she came back on that thursday before classes started and i went into mom mode, she was really relieved that someone was taking it seriously and going to take care of her. >> todd: mom, talk about that, as a parent what goes through your mind when you send a child to a college, university, thinking they will be taken care of and something like this happens? >> as a parent, we trust our children to be at the universities. we love utah state. it is a conservative community and that is where my husband and i went to college and never in a million years would i have thought this would happen. it is such a breach of trust, it

really is, to think they have such little regard for women and girls that they would put them in this situation. i just been in complete shock. >> todd: read a statement from the school, utah state university issuing the following. in coming weeks we will begin a review of the organization including our policy, procedure and practice to identify improved practice and services tos better serve students who live on campus, including addre addressing privacy issues. that is pr speak 101. the school consciously placed this person in a girls-only dorm. did not place them in a potential dorm with gender fluid individuals, purposely put them in a girls-only dorm in a position of power. do you have any idea why? >> there is a designated gender

perhaps predictable. unfortunately the israeli government benjamin netanyahu has admitted yesterday or day before by one of its ministers, gone out of his way to delay previous rounds of negotiablions. that means we desperately need it, hostage families and people of israel as a whole, need strength and insistence of president-elect trump to get to the brink last night, announcement of the hostage deal. we need them more now. to really do what they must to pressure all sides, to bring this home, to get it done without political posturing for domestic reasons and without manufacturing reasons not to go

like for you? >> i'll answer your question in a moment, couple things i need to clarify. sagui dekel-chen is one of seven u.s. citizens still hostage, three assumed to be alive, sagui dekel-chen is one and four confirmed having been murdered on october 7th or shortly thereafter by hamas. they are all still being held, important clarification. as far as the last 15 months, it has been a living hell. most certainly. we do not know, although the press has been talking about it for the last few hours, we have not received official n notification from israeli or u.s. officials about the place that sagui dekel-chen occupies on these lists of people who are going to be released in the first stage or any other phase.

i know what i know purely from the media right now. >> carley: wow. both outgoing biden administration and incoming trump administration have worked on this deal. donald trump said there will be all hell to pay in middle east if hamas does not release those hostages. when you heard him say that, what went through your mind? >> enormous gratitude honestly. it was a turning point. it is true and president biden talked about this last night, basic format of this plan existed now since late may. it had been stalled for months, many of us think needlessly. it took that statement by president-elect trump to rattle the cages of qatar and egypt and israel of course mostly hamas.

in the joint effort between incoming trump officials and outgoing biden officials, we've seen what the u.s. can do at its greatest. i was appreciative and recognize the moment and since then president trump reinforced it and his incoming senior officials. the question is now, are they going to be able to keep the pressure up on the parties to see this through and not go back to their usual stance of delay, deflect and avoid and for that, we know there is a lot on president trump's plate and his team but without their continued application of pressure on friends and foes alike, there is real danger this deal will not go through and the 90 hostages that must come home will remain

hundreds of illegal immigrants a week neuro schools having to adjust all of these reforms and initiatives. >> todd: do you expect other states to follow suit and file similar lawsuits? >> absolutely do. i think every state should join into our lawsuit. because here's the reality. look, the u.s. supreme court is dead wrong on this. they have handy capped states and schools in dealing with the problem of illegal immigration. the left have gotten their goal and their agenda across the line which is to create chaos with an open border. it is time the states help president trump in fighting back. look, president trump is putting the right people in place. we have got to end the practice of sanctuary schools. we have have to know where the illegal immigrants are get that data to the trump administration and aid them in enforcing immigration law that president trump has a clear mandate on. >> todd: is there any legal precedent though for a suit like this asking the federal government to pay for its border failures or, ryan, could this

case end up becoming the law of the land? >> look, i think we are absolutely leading the way here with this case. and beings again, we have got the biden administration's own words. their own ice director is admitting this. they knew there was a problem. and of course every american knows this, right? president trump has talked about this now for nearly a decade of shut down the border. lock at what it is costing our states. look at what is costing our schools our towns and our families. it is taxpayers who are bearing the burt of illegal immigrants pouring across our border. our schools are having influx of students throughout the year that don't speak english that we are trying to adjust to and we have a u.s. supreme court that says hey schools, you can't do anything about illegal immigration. well, of course we can of course we should shut down the border and of course states should aid the trump administration on enforcing this clear mandate. that's what we are going to do. work with president trump in any way we can to solve the border problem, to solve the problem of illegal immigration and to protect our students and our
