you. this will play out in a few hours. you can guess democrats will say she is governor of a small state and does not have experience to lead a government agency of this size. you thought a lot about this in public safety given job you do. why do you think she is right person to lead dhs? >> never been more important given fires out in l.a. that federal government look at how we respond to emergencies in this country. i've spoken with president trump on need to take a good look at that, i've spoken with governor kristi noem about it. she has a long, storied track record. in the house, she was a supporter of firefighter issues, something we take seriously. we know she might be from a strong state, she is ad administrator, she knows how to run a big bureaucracy and she is familiar with issues we deal

when you cut the fire department, people die. in the city of l.a., they cut 10 engine companies, seven ladder companies, 342 full-time positions back in 2010. they didn't hire for six straight years. they have never been able to recover from that. coupled with the fact this fire, we know that the reservoir up in the palisades had no water in it for two years, two plus years, certainly that would have made a massive difference if we have water up in the palisades. still would have been devastating fire, 100 mile per hour winds no matter where you are from coast to coast. california has a long history of awful wild land fires that come into neighborhoods and destroy hundreds and in this case thousands of homes. we've had major wildfires in

it's more than a salute to trump a salute to brave servicemen and women including your family, your son is, in fact, a current u.s. army major. what's the reaction when people see this tractor? >> well, our son, ryan, is he a major in the combat engineer in the army. and you know, any time like we go to the remembrance front. we go to the final salute, we do the peace officer memorial here in des moines and underneath the hood of the tractor here are the 14 names of our family members that have served in the united states military. so. >> carley: that's awesome. >> we are so honored to have that family history and to see and then any time you see someone in uniform i always say -- i always stop and say thank you for your service. >> carley: thank you and your family for your service as well. we got to ask you, gary, what was your reaction on election night when donald trump won by a landslide and what are some of the things you hope he accomplishes over the next four
