lawrence: we have a fox news alert for you these three israeli hostages are set to be the first ones released today as israel prepares to free hundreds of palestinian prisoners in exchange. our next guest brother was killed in 2018 by terrorist now set to be released. he hopes that there's more to this agreement. joins us now thank you so much for joining the program.

>> thanks for having me. lawrence: so when i look at this deal, we want the hostages back, but it reminds me of a similar case in 2011 when shahlik exchanged for battle people that had committed crimes and one of those people who was sinwar and he orchestrated october the 7th i worry that the same thing is going to happen with the person that killed your brother. >> yeah. israel is worrying about that today and it is a very complicated situation, and you know, i person level there's no user guide how to navigate the emotion one feel when is a terrorist murdered my brother going to walk freely. it's unchartered territory. lawrence: how do you balance this, sir? because you want the hostages home. i can see it in your voice i can see it in your demeanor. but i also see the concern as well.
5:53 am
>> yeah. answer is you know it's a deal that is both beautiful and terrible at the same time. you know, it is the reality that the jewish people on specifically israeli people had to live with for generations and throughout our history. so we're doing our best and for us bringing back the girls bring ing back hostages utmost importance and deal with consequences later but right now we have to bring them home. lawrence: what is your message for america? because i think part of the concern is you know, will they reconstitute? hamas has more fighters now. as you can see the lifo live photos but a different president who made it clear if they strike again if they try to do anything and don't release the hostages that will be hell in the middle east. does that give you some sort of comfort? >> well it is hard to know what

goes on behind closed doors rumors that president trump is also, you know, pressuring net netanyahu to sign this deal and begs question what was offered to netanyahu or threat used to get to agree to the horrible deal. but time will tell, and you know, if trump's previous actions towards israel in terms of moving embassy and recognizing heights and indication he's going to be a good friend to israel. lawrence: so as we prepare for this, this hostage to be released, we're also thinking about your brother. tell us the type of man he was. >> arie was a real hero lived a hero and died a hero moved from new york an american family, and you know, he fought her israel day in and day out, and six years ago shopping and i want to emphasize a kid, a kid came from behind stabbed him in a main art rei in his neck he was medically basically dead.

and somehow he miraculously able to chase the terrorist before the terrorist was going to murder his next victim. ari a national hero of the state of israel but died of emotions tremendous pride and sadness. >> we're thinking about your brother today. but i also think that highlights there's an ideology -- there, and gaza as well as the palestinian there's this radical islamic thing that is ideology that is taught from birth. many people many of our troops experience that on the battlefield in iraq and afghanistan. and you guys are experiencing the same thing. they're taught to hate jews from birth. and i'm glad your brother was able to kill his killer before he ultimately died. we remember him today. thank you, sir. >> able to shoot him -- >> shoot him. >> thank you so much, sir. >> so we continue our special edition of fox and friends live from washington.
