number of democratic senators supporting that. i think there are other democratic number -- nominees that will get democratic support. it is not just john fetterman. there are democrats who believe, deeply, that some of the things he said really spoke to the american people in a way we have not been able to. how can we work with him and maybe win some of them back? in two years in the midterms? this is the best if his presidency. he cannot run again. tomorrow he will face a divided republican party about how to move forward in congress and on things like tiktok. in two years there is a midterm election. i think democrats are starting to think about that and how can we maybe win back some of the the trump voters by working with him where he we can and opposing came where we believe it is absolutely vital to the country. >> i was just going to say there is a lot of things that will happen out together. like look at the shiny think
1:01 pm
there is a lot of shiny things that will happen today in these executive orders. we are getting the word that the u.s. will withdraw from the paris climate accord from senior officials there. a lot of quick actions that happen quickly. >> trump has this year something he was denied eight years ago which is the political honeymoon. he gets to be a normal president today which he was not allowed to be eight years ago. he came in under this false clout of the russian collusion conspiracy which ate up two years of his presidency. all of the efforts to destroy him were unprecedented in american history. that has all petered out and now we can have a normal trump presidency where trump proposes things and democrats some of them will go a long some will not and we will see how long that lasts. weather trumped arrangement syndrome kicks in. it is like a virus it sort of comes back like shingles. there is a chance we can have semi normal -- normal
1:02 pm
restoration of how washington works. >> i think you are right about the honeymoon period i think it did not work at all. we will see what happens and how long that can last. sandra, your thoughts when you look at these things that are already starting to happen. and as you pointed out earlier they are not really on the economic front at least yet. >> that is where i may differ a little bit from how kevin so eloquently answer that question to brett earlier about what we might see on day one because we know the economy and inflation were consistently the top issues for american voters and that is a business-friendly environment. that is so important that our businesses, are small businesses that are the engine of our great american economy feel like they have somebody going to bat for them every day. they feel they have somebody in their corner no matter the headwinds that come there way
1:03 pm
they have felt the brutal wrath of overregulation, high taxes, this is the president that has promised to lower those taxes and roll back those regulations and provide an environment of growth. you hear larry kudlow talk a lot about this. people can get behind that no matter what curveballs are thrown their way if you remove uncertainty and allow people to prosper and businesses to hire and thrive that is the environments that people want to see. that is what they are rooting on all over the country. >> we are waiting on the president's review of the troops. that is a military ceremony military ceremony in emancipation hall. the military and what happens with the military parade is a big part of the story. pete hegseth is the secretary of defense nominee. we are waiting how that process will go for his confirmation and that vote. but clearly the message that president trump said was that woke military is not going to be in this administration and there will be changes.
1:04 pm
>> one of the big changes is pretty clear that he believes we should not be an interventionist nation. he clearly wants us to be a stronger nation and one presumes that that will be part of increases of defense spending and key areas so building up our forces and more reluctant to use them in many parts of the world. on that will play out will be the story of the administration on that front. it is fine to stay we will stay out of messy foreign wars and foreign entanglements, the united states is deeply involved in the world to. we have interest pretty far-flung and protecting them sometimes requires the availability of military force. so the story of this administration on that front will be how exactly they balance that. i do not think it will be easy but it is what he is facing now. i think that is what our friend pete hegseth is facing as he prepares to take charge of that most important office.
1:05 pm
>> i said military review it is basically called first honors were you will get all of the different military branches and they will be in emancipation hall. it was supposed to kick off the parade which as we know it was not happening down pennsylvania it will now go to capital one to. >> indeed we are watching the lunch and break up as ready for that military review it by the president. kevin o'leary is still with us. we watch all of this play else and we think about the international situation. and china in particular with regard to the economic threat that is presented and how you see this president dealing with china differently than what we have had in the past four years. >> as somebody who does business in china i have been dealing with china for over 24 years they have never abided by the wto rules they came in under.
1:06 pm
no administration has dealt with the problem particularly ip theft. the bottom line and i think you are getting a sense from this administration, we are in an economic war in competition with china. they want to become the dominant economy on earth that is their plan. we make it into a military board that would be a bad outcome. but right now the things they do or so outrageous, like ip theft. we don't have the ability to litigate when they steal our projects. i love that stuff every day. i'm a frustrated investor who has now said okay enough is enough who is actually going to deal with these guys? i think this administration is the one. he started it in his first mandate he will finish it and his second. i said to trump in my brief interchange with him this is trumped 2.0. or reboots of the original trump. this is a guy that wants to
1:07 pm
leave a legacy. starting to think more strategically about that. you can see he is more thoughtful, he listens twice as much as he used to. he is pulling data from you and instead of telling you the way it is going to be which is the new trump. >> ramp-up the tiktok talk. if they do not want to sell at what happens? >> we have a really interesting situation because last night at midnight the law went into effect. 270 days. and fact, the president cannot issue an executive order now under the old law because that option is gone. he will have to go to congress and get a modification of the original order in order to do anything. he also wants to have a joint venture with china which is prohibited by the 9-0 decision. i have never seen such a decision by the justices.

hopefully on thursday. right now we are working with chuck schumer and the democrats trying to get an agreement. remember everyone of these nominees have a 30 hour debate time on the floor. typically what happens to get the cabinet started we did this with biden, we did this with obama his first time, we did this with trump when he came in. the first noncontroversial individuals like marco rubio, ratcliffe, you can probably even throw kristi noem and that and you throw those individuals else, members of congress, they have already been vetted. you get them voted out today. we are trying to do that but they are not playing ball. if they do not we will put the 30 hour clock on marco rubio tonight and we will vote on him tomorrow evening. >> you are saying they are not playing ball so you were saying the democrats are not... >> we will not necessarily do voice notes but limit the debate time. maybe have an hour debate on each one, may be waived debate altogether. they can do a 10 hour debate
1:11 pm
instead of the 30 hour debate. >> so far they are not doing that. >> so far we have not had any once i leave the committee hearing on the pete hegseth and i go to the leaders table and we will discuss what our options are. >> can those run simultaneously? and you start debate at? >> no. >> one person at a time. i have heard a number of senators say they want to do this on the obama schedule rather than the first trump schedule. i think he got 15 through in the first 30 days or something like that. or you saying that is not looking likely at this point? >> we can get 15 done and 30 days but we would be nights and weekends. litre thune has said be prepared to do that that was the email he sent out last night. so we could get those 15 done if the democrats want to do that. at the same time they can allow us the ones that came out of the committee with little or no

contentious votes against them, peaches not going to be one of them but some of them can come out and we can put them on blocks and vote on one or three per day. >> again we are looking at first honors similar to a military inspection happening in emancipation hall on capitol hill. this is where president trump delivered the second speech that he went down and talk to supporters it has now been cleared out. you can see members of the military there as the president of the first lady will make their way there before heading to capitol hill. charlie, your thoughts on what we are seeing? >> that was his second post inaugural address. i think it went longer than the inaugural address. but talking about the nominees what an important reminder of how important it is that republicans won control of the senate. if they had not won control of

the senate we would be having an entirely different conversation about who would be getting through and two would not be getting through. obviously trump attorney general nominee ended up withdrawing and then he replaced him with pam bondi. but a lot of these nominees were sort of viewed as being controversial when he named them. but i have been struck by, over the last week or so how i think every single one of these candidates will get through that we have had so far. >> do you agree, senator? >> i believe they will. pete was the biggest challenge. do we take pete first or do we wait on the hearing? president trump was very forceful saying that i want pete to go first because he will set the tone. that is how much faith he had and pete and when he walked into that hearing i had a conversation with him days before and the day of saying we do not have to win this debate we just do no harm. he came else better then he went

november 6 to the senate. we would not have had this majority if it wasn't for the president and we know that. the president worked his tail off. i was fortunate enough to work with him on a regular basis. and between bradley's he was doing town hall meetings 11 or 12 per day. not just house members but senate members. he was constantly invite think the senators to his rally as well. and we owe him a lot and we all see that. at the same time susan collins is a from a very difficult states. at some time she will have to vote away from us because she still has to represent to maine to. when that happens we still can lose three if we have to. j.d.'s are deciding vote that is why i say we will get all of the individuals confirmed. we have to give her a little bit of room to do that and even president trump acknowledge that. >> do you see democratic senators who might be yes on pete hegseth? >> maybe fetterman. i don't see anybody else outside
