♪ >> and president president trump is about to arrive at capitol one arena.
2:01 pm
he's expected to fire up the packed ground there and give a speech as well as sign a series of executive orders. >> dana: hello everyone, i'm dana perino with judge jeanine pirro and jesse waters. this is "the five" >> preserve, protect and defend. >> the constitution of the united states. >> the constitution of the united states. >> so help me god. >> so help me god. congratulations mr. president. >> dana: 45 is now 47. donald trump getting sworn into office as president of the united states completing a political come backup paralleled in history. and earlier, during his second
2:02 pm
inaugural address. >> the golden age of america begins now from this day forward our country will flourish and be respected again all over the world. america's decline is over. our liberties and our nations glorious destiny will no longer be denied and we will immediately restore the integrity, competency and loyalty of america's government. we will move with purpose and speed to bring back hope. prosperity, safety and peace for citizens of every race, religion, color, and creed. for american citizens, january 20, 2025, is liberation day. many people thought it was impossible to stage a historic political comeback, as you see here today, i am here and the american people have spoken. i am with you. i will fight for you and i will
2:03 pm
win for you. we're going to win like never before. >> dana: we are following all the developments but we will take it around the table for as long as we can. start with you jesse and your observations today. >> jesse: this was a man saved by god in order to make america great again and usher in a new golden age. the concentration of power that you saw in the room, probably of the most since the constitution. you saw the potential in the country when people do get along. he said a tide of change is sweeping america and sun light is pouring over the entire world. and he said something necessary and a lot of people maybe didn't like it on the other side, but he said the democrats and joe biden have betrayed this country. and that was the cold-hard truth
2:04 pm
and needed to be said to his face because we don't fear that anymore. it was probably the most ambitious speech ever given by a human being. we will plant the stars and stripes on mars. make america healthy, seal the border and beat inflation. we will save our cities and a lot of people watching felt it was possible today. a lot of times you hear politicians run their mouths and this was just another political speech. this was a speech made by a hero and said ambition is the life blood of a great nation. talks about the spirit of the frontier and tied it back to the history the country. we came and conquered and tamed the wilderness, fascism and split the atom. at one point he said i stand before you that proof that nothing is impossible, that the impossible is what we do best.
2:05 pm
this was the hope and change speech that obama never really delivered on. when they said barack and joe wanted to fundamentally change america, this agenda is about fundamentally changing america because we're in transformational times. the media is changing. we're changing what we feel about health and our economy. we are changing technology. the map is change, literally he said we want to take back panama. it was the most inspiring speech he has given that i personally ever heard and an exciting time to be alive. >> greg, the one thing that didn't change, ever since he announced his run, he said these the issues i'm going to deliver on. >> greg: during the speech, as i was listening, all i was doing is looking at joe. watching him the last four years was handed to him like a

sizzling trump steak. this wasn't an in your face herald. but in your face and up your [bleep] joe. it's not just about trump. it's about everyone involved who had a personal journey that paralleled trump. if you supported him, you were thrown into battle. this was like a convergence of stories into one victorious moment. everybody involved in this felt it. it just, i mean it felt bigger than a typical inauguration. trump took it away from the left versus right dichotomy by using two words that everyone needed to hear. common sense. right. it's something that we lost under biden when you looked at the border and the crime and the transhysteria. we needed the middle ground. from wanting to deciding and
2:07 pm
trump was there. his speech was very clear. i saw how the "new york times" portrayed it as grim. it was because he was doing so much that was literally in your face. but that's what happens when you push a country too far. not only did you push americans too far under the biden administration, if they pushed back, you would be punished by cancellation and that's another thing that trump did. he took the fear of cancellation off the table. you could share the risk. everybody shared the risk. musk, rfk junior, tulsi, all these people came in. if you shared the risk, they can't come after everybody. daddy is home and they maybe but america couldn't be better. >> dana: one of the things is he gave a speech after the speech. it seems to me he's having a great time. >> judge jeanine: i think he's
2:08 pm
having a great time and feeling the energy america is having. he talks about a golden era or age, a new dawn and liberation day, so many of us feel the same way. we felt that way on the wednesday november 6th. when we realized we're going to have a president who is not just a president, this man is a man who was delivered to the oval office in spite of everything they did to him. he reflected what the people wanted. the people wanted to make sure there was no censorship or suppression of free speech. the people want the southern border closed and the ability to make sure their girls are safe in sports. as he ticked through all these executive order, it was exactly what he said it was going to be. a common sense agenda. since when do boys get to beat up or beat on girls in sports?
2:09 pm
it was lunacy. there was one sentence that was compelling to me and stopped me and it was my life was saved for a reason, you made reference to this jesse, i was saved by god. and it was a reminder, that we are one nation under god. and then you saw the reaction on camera from individuals in the arena. this country believes in god. we believe in religion. we are christian whether christian or jewish or muslim doesn't matter, you believe in god. i think everyone is excited because they know that he will deliver. and the idea of manifest destiny that we're going to take back the panama canal, he was like, you know we are, you know we are tough. we are strong and they're not going to be able to take it from us. >> i called him a pragmatic optimist. i don't know if that fits what he describes himself as.
2:10 pm
just want to point out the first family, a lot of grandchildren are taking their seats. at capitol one arena. there's 20,000 people there. we are overlooking the white house where the parade been had it not been moved inside. it's very cold and for the safety of everybody, it was moved in, in order to protect from frost bite which we're not going to get here. you and i were on earlier today. you had a few hours to think about more. i will turn it over to you for that. >> it's good to be back with the crew here. i don't disagree with a lot that has been said. i would only add that today is the start of what many of us, many of you around the table and many of the president supporters and even argue some of the president biden supporters now that president trump was the president-elect and now the president of the united states. fundamentally he won because of the things you mentioned, greg, and the things you mentioned judge, about culture and the
2:11 pm
speech certainly harken to big historical things. historical moment necessary our nation's history. fundamentally, the economy isn't working for everybody. people who win presidential elections if they get reelected, it means the country is affirming what they have done and want to move further in that direction. people who are defeated if they are running again it's because the centers in the country want something different. president trump had on that stage with him jesse, the great investors and innovators in this nation's history. the richest and most prolific group. that group there, their presence and success flies in the way what the president said about how bad things are in the country. i interpret it as we can be better. the two economies we have where people are doing really well are doing much better and people who aren't doing as well are living check to check or month by
2:12 pm
month. that's the group that elected president trump president. they're going to depend on him the most to deliver. cutting tax and regulations, raising tariffs, if this is the formula, the president has got it. the one thing i find refreshing about president trump is he can say one thing monday and really believe it. if it doesn't work tuesday, he will change. if some of the things don't work, i hope the president has the courage to be himself and change course and get us all to higher ground in a faster way. i wish him nothing but the best. >> dana: one of the things we talked about is getting rid of woke agenda. there will be two genders. apparently, a few people at the capitol one arena told me the people watching the speech cheered the loudest for this. let's listen quickly to the president here. >> i will also end the government policy of trying to socially engineer race and
2:13 pm
gender into other aement of public and private life. we will forge a society that is color blind and merit based. as of today, it will hence forth be the official policy of the united states government that there are only two genders, male and female. >> dana: and this might make the left surprised. >> the other big theme of the speech. when you have two terms framed up like bidden and trump's together, it's so easy to compare and contrast and the human race what separates us from the beast is that we have reason. we are a rational people. and so you can use logic to see what works and what doesn't and it seems like there's an agreement among the population. we're going in this direction and don't need to worry about the past because the past is
2:14 pm
over. i want to add a few things greg said. he talked about the people surrounding president trump. and it's so different than joe biden, you see joe biden and he would leave and not talk to anybody. and donald trump is running 30 minutes late because he's talking to everybody and makes everybody around him better. we watched this yesterday, where he was calling out people in the rally. there's the wall. the guy that comes to every rally. there's abe lincoln. a little shorter than abe lincoln was but makes people feel good. >> and including governor abbott today who took a lot for the country on the failed border crisis and pointed him out. >> imagine if i talked badly about him and he happened to be in the front row. to what greg said about the media, they can't cover donald trump. the media as designed isn't equipped to cover this man because the media is designed to thrive in a partisan atmosphere
2:15 pm
and where people don't have all the information. the media covers donald trump for what he isn't and not what he is. another great point made by greg, i hate to say it. >> dana: wow, his head is going to explode. >> jesse: the fear factor is gone. i feel it, we're not afraid to say when we feel or get indicted by weaponized prosecutors anymore. i was at the gym breaking through all sorts of limitations that i placed on myself mentally. everybody feels it. we're all feeling happy. >> >> we're waiting for president trump to give remarks and sign executive orders. can i have gregg talk about the woke agenda or energy. >> i will also declare a
2:16 pm
national energy emergency we will drill, baby drill. we will be a rich nation and it's that rich gold under our feet to do it. with me actions today, we will end the green new deal and revoke the electric vehicle mandate. you will be able to buy the car of your choice. >> americans over the last four years have been given the history >> this reminds me of a giant building in a controlled demolition. we're watching the last four years go -- >> >> greg: jesse said something great. the reciprocity of terms. the biden term was a horrible
2:17 pm
half-time show and it might have been necessary to remind people how bad it can get. while giving the trump, donald trump especially time to think about how to do it better. what needs improvement. what to prepare for. perhaps you need to walk through the swamp before you can return triumphantly. i want to credit, i think a lot of this and i brought this up constantly in the last two years, the turning point to me was the destruction of the 10 pole hokes. people wonder why i talked about it every time. every person that investigated the 10 pole hokes, it showed the media other stories. there was this billionaire tech guy saying he decided to come out for trump after realizing
2:18 pm
trump never said nazis are fine people. scott adams and other people pushing this, joel pollack and steve cortez, the guys just saying this is where it starts. this is the thing that joe claimed got him to run. it was all a huge destructive lie that hurt so many people. at noon today, the cvp 1 app is gone. here's president trump. this is president trump on the border. >> i will declare a national emergency at our southern border. all illegal entry will immediately be halted and we will begin the process of turning millions and millions of criminal aliens back to the places from which they came.
2:19 pm
we will reinstate my remain in mexico policy. i will end the practice of catch and release. and i will send troops to the southern border to repel the disasterous invasion of our country. we will call the cartels as foreign terrorist organizations. judge your take. >> judge jeanine: the thing about donald trump, you believe him. when he says i'm going to do something, he will make it happen. that's the difference between the promises that a lot of politicians make and the reality of donald trump. he's got this ability whether based on his business past or simple determination we have seen in the last four years
2:20 pm
alone. he's going to make these things happen. when he talks about common sense, this is what he's talking about. the why did we ever have open borders? why were our borders open? why were these people not vetted? why was there no dna taken of children? why are we missing 300,000 children? as president trump went through the less. joe biden was sitting there and they had the camera on him and kamala. he sat there and got smaller and smaller because there was no justification for that. there was no reason to do that to america. whether economically or all of the disasters that happened because of it. the remain in mexico. the fact he's naming them a terrorist organization. that pretty much has to do with the, it's an international foreign cartel. it's almost a rico on an
2:21 pm
international level. there's a lot of banking and transactional stuff that will be shut down for them. when he added the military at the border, that is another issue that people are, i'm sure the left is going to be concerned about. but more importantly is, if you have a foreign terrorist at our border, then we're going to make sure that you don't enter into this country and we will use the military against you. you're not going to bring poison into america to kill young americans and you're not going to be able to funnel this cartel that you have in this country. and those two come together very carefully. the military at the border and the designation of a foreign terrorist organization. i got to say one more thing, the electric cars. americans were never into it. we didn't want it. with all the nonsense. who is the secretary of energy who had an interest in some of
2:22 pm
these? grandhome. she didn't want to divest herself. it was all about money and that was terrible. for me, i'm keeping my gas stove. you can't force me to get an electric stove. >> dana: a lot of these blue cities and states, herald, are looking at the border. it's now at their front door. massachusetts may not have expected that and they have it now. there are some who anticipated it. are democrats trying to get their footing when it comes to immigration? >> i do. i think presidential compans are looking forward. i would remind everybody on the electric car matter, the richest man in the world builds electric cars and developing ai.
2:23 pm
the things most interesting about president trump and the defining elements of his resiliency is he's able to do that. do you think democrats will find ways to work with him? absolutely. the senator come the commonwealth of pennsylvania has said they will work with them. some are political and you're right, that's what politics are about. one thing democrats have to accept today is that donald trump like fdr and lbj and regan understands power. >> i'm sorry to interrupt you by usha vance and j.d. vance and their small child are being introduced. we will listen in now.

>> ladies and gentlemen, the heroes of butler county are here. and they are here to pay homage to life, selfless community service and sacrifice of cory comperatore. past fire chief to the buffalo fire company who died during the assassination attempt on president trump in butler pennsylvania, july, 13, 2024. their formation consists of pennsylvania state police, local mrs., merge services unit, ems. 911 and hospital personnel who all heroically stepped into

action and paying tribute to the first responders nationwide. ladies and gentlemen, at this very special event, let us now take a moment of silence in honor of the corey comperatore.
2:34 pm
[moment of silence observed] >> thank you very much, ladies and gentlemen. [music] >> and the show must go on even though it's inside.
2:35 pm
this is not the inaugural parade you're used to. because of the weather, it's moved indoors. they are at capitol one arena, not too far from the white house. as we look around the room, it's like a state of union because you have different representations of people including the citizens and the civilians and the first responders of butler county where president trump took the bullet. >> yeah, and corey's jacket being paraded through. as you mentioned just now. they have some of the hostage families there in yellow. they have e symbolism of a state of union where they use individuals to make a point, and maybe people around the table don't like the british pomp and circumstance, looking this way, but i love the lineage that we can tie back to the british with the royal red and the beautiful orchestra we heard through the day.
2:36 pm
melania looks incredible. i speak for all americans. one of most unifying things i have said. the hat, i can't get over it. i don't know what it means. i can't stop looking at it. >> it's a tribute to the late, great actor lee van creaf. barron, it must be said the camera loves barron. there's a mystery to barron because he doesn't express himself a lot, but there's something about him that makes me think he has a lot in common with his father. he might step into a leadership role, if he wants to, maybe not. the jd factor, the youth, it looks like he needed help wrangelling the kids. it breathes new life into the american political system with young children. >> children bring joy. that's going to be fun to watch
2:37 pm
them and usha vance seems like a great person and mother and brilliant lawyers. speaking of lawyers, we have two at the table and three that play them. at 11:41 today, judge, joe biden pardoned many of his family members preemptive pardons, in addition to all others around 11:00 a.m., and as my contention, my belief to trump didn't know about these because they announced them after he already walked into the rotunda. it's great brazen and i think democrats are going to have a hard time answering to it. >> judge jeanine: it's very interesting and to me stunning. there's certainly been rumors that joe biden decides he's going to pardon pretty much all of his family. the members, herald of the crime syndicate, his brother joe and his son and i think some inlaws
2:38 pm
anthony fauci, preemptive party. they aren't charged with anything but we're going to tie the hands of the next attorney general to make sure she, nice, does not indict anyone. i think what is so stunning is that the justification for this, dana, where the statement from the biden white house was these people do not deserve to be targets of unjustified and politically-motivated prosecutions. talk about the pot calling the kettle black. the republicans who have suffered at the hands of a weaponized biden justice department and add these pardons shouldn't be mistaken as an acknowledgment they engaged in any wrongdoing. yet the same biden administration is objecting to any pardoning of the j-6
2:39 pm
hostages saying if trump gives them a pardon, it has to be an admission of guilt. it's typical hypocrisy. the same is it's a recognition that there is and was a possibility of based on james comer alone, there was enough evidence to indict, but james comer didn't have access to merrick garland's department of justice. the evidence is there. they have to stop it from the next attorney general. >> harold, how will democrats defend this? >> i don't think they will have to defend this. president biden will. this president that the president has and every president has it while in office to pardon people is the most sweeping authority and the most unchecked authority because you can't reverse it.
2:40 pm
the only thing we can reverse is if the people commit a crime. the january 6th comparison will be if president trump pardons some of the january 6th or all of them, there will be people saying you should not have pardoned your family. i think the real precedent here, judge, is these are prepardons. >> judge jeanine: yep, absolutely. >> basically you set a precedent for every president to give a pre-pardon to friends family or those he's close to. the insult to injury around this one is president biden when he was asked repeatedly will you pardon your son hunter said no. then decided at the last minute to do it, which was fine. if you said hey, i'm going to pardon my son. when you add to it he's been prosecuted selectively or singled out, i think that's what gave people a little bit of a bad taste. i have gotten a lot of texts today when dana and i were on this morning from democrat and
2:41 pm
republican friends alike that did not like this. thought it would leave a bad taste in the mouths of people. sometimes you eat something you like and the bad taste goes away. i think the real thing here is the precedent. do you now say to presidents when you are leaving office, you can pre-pardon or precondition pardons for friends and family if i think they maybe singled out for some reason by the next administration. i hope that's not the next president. that stands out more than anything else. >> dana: jesse, you covered it terms of james and hunter biden were simpatico. >> jesse: it looks really suspicious to do that and looks slimy. to go out in the final hours issuing pardons to your entire family just looks disgusting.
2:42 pm
>> dana: it was 19 minutes to go. >> jesse: it's so dirty. fauci's pardon is back dated to 2014. it leads me to believe maybe covid 19 was a fauci baby. he know he trained the people in china. we know he funded that lab, this specific strain, that leads me to believe that there's something more to uncover. it makes me highly suspicious. i don't get millie. i don't understand while all of a sudden, cheney and i need to know whether they lobbied for the pardons or if any money changed hands. you know the biden family is easy to bribe. greg gutfeld. >> greg: he pardoned five family
2:43 pm
members to make it appear he wasn't protecting one. it was really about his brother. so it's like that episode of "murder she wrote", where this guy poisons a bunch of people. it's not like he just poisoned his wife. it throws the scent off him. you remember that episode. >> that was like "law and order" too. >> greg: they assumed that would throw us off the stench. this isn't a bad look. this is scummy, the final act of a scoundrel, a final stink bomb as you exit the building. a final pardon is that accepting guilt? i say yes. is adam kinsinger going to accept it? you bet so. it doesn't say you can't investigate. especially with fauci. i mean you know what, if you can't throw him in jail, at least make it so he's forever,
2:44 pm
forever known for what he did. and that's the same thing with the jan 6 committee. maybe they won't go to jail. we got to find out exactly what they knew and what they hid. >> jesse: so ran paul could bring fauci in? >> yeah. and should. >> jesse: and he has to talk. >> greg: there's no 5th anymore. >> dana: we want to talk about the fact donald trump, you see him with j.d. vance and his oldest son trying to pay attention. he is a little sleepy. in a few minutes after the parade goes on for a while. judge, you will hear a speech from president trump and sign several executive orders. tell me your thoughts on that. >> judge jeanine: i'm so excited about the president signing the executive order. there's this desk in the arena with the presidential seal which you and i were talking about. what the president is doing is saying to the 20,000 people in the arena and to the american
2:45 pm
people, this is for you. you are a part of this. i am signing this to tell you that the promises made are going to be met. and they're going to be delivered. and he will tell everyone what they are. and so the american people can see that of these 200 executive orders that he's going to sign, compared to four that he did in his first term and apparently biden in his first day did 22, but these 200 are the promises kept to the american people. and we will be included in it. i think it's a wonderful way for the president to admit that he is there because of the american people. >> dana: a little bit of shock and awe. >> i'm really cold right now. >> dana: we got 16 minutes. >> greg: what is interesting to me, republicans and democrats have reverse problems.
2:46 pm
they were lousy on persuasion, the democrat had the reverse problem, they have toxic idea, but the persuasion was powerful. if you come out against these ideas, you will be considered a racist, a homo phobe or whatever. it was the fear of cancellation. now the republicans have discovered persuasion through trump, with clear concise ideas, return to law and order you're left with the democrats being exposed as empty vessels. if they don't jettison the ideas, the identity politics that forced them to deceive americans, they're done. >> dana: harold. >> again, i don't disagree with a lot that's been said. the race is over. president trump is now the president of the united states. he's now sworn in as the 47th
2:47 pm
president. i find it's interesting he will sign these orders today. if we talk about admissions and i think one can make a credible in reference a pardon is one. if you have the majority in the house and senator by three votes, you normally sign executive orders if you can't get through the house and congress. the last thing you do as president are passed by the house and senate and signed by the president. that's one of the reasons this tiktok thing is so interesting. it was passed by the house and senate and signed by the then president, former president and ratified by scotus. i'm looking forward on the stuff on energy. it's most interesting because can unleash more growth and lower prices and the president made clear to make things more affordable. i want to congratulate at
2:48 pm
capital one arena. >> they had a hockey match there. >> they certainly did. congratulations do those guys. >> jesse: not a tennis match but a hockey game. >> dana: that will do me for a while. >> jesse: some of these exec exec exec executive orders, i don't know if we talked about it. he yanked the secret service and lied about the laptop. the in-person work is back. ending dei and besides the persuasion thing, there's no fear of being called racist, a bigot, republicans were so skittish about taking bold action and now they don't have to worry about that. on the border, you saw that today, the media put out a video of migrant crying when the border app didn't work. that's not going to move the
2:49 pm
needle anymore. some the executive orders will take immediately action. catch and release gone. remain in mexico, immediately enacted. that will have a very, very quick result. wind leases. people at the jersey shore, we were dying for trump to kill those wind farms because they were destroying the environment and the fishermen hated it. no more wind farms off the coast. thank you. >> dana: go ahead. >> judge jeanine: one of the ones that struck me was reduce civil service protection for federal workers. now, we have known that a lot of federal workers since the pandemic are still working remotely and now want to work only four days a week. they don't want to come back. the glut of the federal government and the size of the federal government is you know, a real problem for you know for the budget. and the real problem has been the inability to get rid of
2:50 pm
people in the federal government. >> dana: very difficult. >> judge jeanine: he's going to start tackling that and make a big difference. >> greg: the funny and sad thing at the same time, having to do orders to get people to do their job. some people go in once a month and you think about the border decisions and there are only two genders. it's sad we have to say this. it's like, we are in the state of our culture that you actually have an executive order about biology because we have allowed the country to slide into this bizarre cultural marxism that has allowed us to undermine just basic common sense, and now we actually have to say this stuff is kind of, it's freaky. >> jesse: you can have an executive order that crime is illegal. >> dana: i want to play this for you. this is a media montage of a lot
2:51 pm
of frustration from other places about the tech titans being there today. watch. >> we're about to enter an era of deep fakes and all sorts of misinformation and the degree to which those five gentlemen play a role or do not play a role will be pivotal where the american people are four years from now. >> they have better seats than those who will serve in donald trump's administration. >> only in america. >> why are people with tons of money on the dais? >> greg: i think that was fake tapper not jake tapper. i think that was misinformation. even if you believe the tech brothers will somewhat create misinformation, they can't even approach the scope, the scale of the joe biden cover up. that wasn't done by the tech brothers but you guys.
2:52 pm
the tech brothers didn't tell us joe was fine. they didn't reject their noble vocation and refuse to do journalism, that was you guys. no one will ever be as bad as contemporary media. they are doa. no one takes that seriously. >> dana: because of dei, we could keep the alphabet going. one of the things, harold, we're in a big race with our adversaries like china when it comes to technology and defense weaponry. president trump said i get it and want to help you. these tech titans are rich for a reason. they figured something out. they innovated. >> i'm not bothered by their presence. they represent the dominance we have in technology and innovation, the dominance we enjoy and creating things that make life easier and simpler and
2:53 pm
less expensive for people. to your point, president trump wanted to send a message to putin and xi. for those leaders in those countries to see the greatest minds and most prolific thinkers and investors on stage with the president who many did not support four years ago or even two years ago or maybe a year ago to say we're united is a powerful and compelling thing. now there will be differences between those guys as time goes by. i understand what our colleagues at other networks were saying. to see this kind of leadership and see this kind of projection of leadership, as long as it's done responsibly and accountably, this is a wonderful thing for the country when you think of the defense build up. the kinds of things to invest in to make life better for every american and accessible. so i was pleased by this today more than i was bothered.
2:54 pm
