this is biden's america. i hope it changes quickly. let's go, tom homan. >> brian: an illegal immigrant ring from chile targeting american athletes and now we have joe burrows and the timberwolves guard connolly. if you are good you'll be on the target list. thanks for being with us. unbelievable what has been going on in terms of these leagues. i think the league has to help out with security, too. tonight first interview with president donald trump will be with sean hannity tonight from the white house and can't wait to see what president trump has to say about his first hours in office. already making an impact. dana and bill are next. you'll see me on the radio shortly. stay within yourself, america. >> president trump: we had a great first term but we will have an even better second term.
6:01 am
i think we'll do things that people will be shocked at. >> bill: here we go. he is just getting started. day three of trump 2.0. president checking his to do list and keeping the white house press corps on its toes. we call this day 2 1/2 because monday was a full day for most people. it was a half day technically. >> dana: it felt like a day and a half. we could call it three. i'm dana perino. this is "america's newsroom." we're glad you are with us today. we have a lot of news to cover. almost impossible to keep up with it all. we're barely into week one. announcements are coming fast and furious. president announcing a $5 hundred billion investment in a.i. infrastructure. he declared a national emergency on the border day one. move to expedite fossil fuel production and officially created the department of government efficiency. >> bill: he is going after

the executive order. protect civil rights and merit-based opportunity by ending illegal d.e.i. something he campaigned on and talked about it and done it within the first few hours in the white house. this is the executive orders and the first 100 days. here is obama, 0 through 100. he was around 20 on day 100. you see the escalation. clocked in more than 30 executive orders after 100 days his first term. biden now. he is up here around 40 at the 100 day mark. we're a long way from trump's 100 days. after 2.5 as we said a moment ago here he is, comes in right around 30 executive orders, just shy of that. josh holmes will talk about a lot of this. let's start with d.e.i. i thought turley put a fine point on a message he sent on x.

even if half of these initiatives make it through court challenges they would fundamentally alter the scope and culture of the federal government. he goes on to say the higher educational institutions and other organizations is an example of sweeping language in mandate. his initial points if half of it goes through it alters a lot. what do you make of that? >> no, listen, bill, that's entirely true and consistent with what he campaign upon. one of the most significant differences of this presidency is based on how he campaigned and what he could do by executive order. he really did promise to change the culture. people were fed up with divisive racial policies coming out of the administration. obviously the border issues, which significant amount of executive actions. all the things he talked about during the course of the campaign were things this president spent an awful lot of time thinking what he would do differently if he ever had

another opportunity. the first full day he is taking full advantage of that, not letting a second go to waste. >> dana: it has been fascinating to watch democrats and they are so discombobulated that you had this punch bowl news headline. house democrats privately squirm about their leadership and message. usa today question on democratic leadership. who do you now see as the leader of the democratic party? don't know was 30%. nobody, 19%. i'm reminded of something nancy pelosi said to hakeem jeffries, power is not given, it is taken. i'm wondering if we'll ever see a democrat -- these things swing back and forth. who will the democrat be? maybe we don't have a name yet. that just says the biden years were terrible. getting that behind them so they are all free to speak their minds. >> you would need a basic acknowledgement that they were

terrible, right? chuck schumer came out yesterday and couldn't speak to whether he thought the biden last-minute pardons were inappropriate. look, nancy pelosi knows something about taking power, right? she and everybody else tried to do that from joe biden and give it to kamala harris during the summer. the biggest problems democrats face it is tough to rebrand and come up with a message that works on a bunch of policies that don't. the american people roundly rejected. it wasn't so much how they were saying it or the messenger or anything else but a bunch of stuff that didn't work for americans. i think the common problem, you saw immediately after the election, a whole lot of people beginning to speculate about whether they needed to come to the center on some of these divisive social issues and immediately revert evidence right back. you see that coming up in the confirmation hearing and everything else. the democratic party hasn't changed a bit since november. >> bill: speaker mike johnson said this about what he is

seeing. >> there is a sea change in washington. i was with the president at the white house for three hours today with leader thune and other leaders from the conference. we're all united on this agenda, sean. we know we have to deliver on the america first agenda. we will. we're working on it already. the president will have legislation to sign. executive orders came out as a flurry as we expected. >> bill: sean hannity last night. what is the sea change in d.c.? do you believe republicans are united? >> yes, the most united the republican party has been in a long time. one big difference. the jarring pace of play from the sleepy last four years where, you know, press corps would get a hard lid on the day's activities and now two free wheeling conferences in the first full day of action. look, he is really pushing everyone to work hard. boy, did they need to do that.
6:10 am
it extends not just to lawmakers trying to enact his agenda and the press corps. executive orders dealing with the federal workforce having to come back to work for the first time since covid. this guy -- listen, president trump will make people go to work. most american people are really happy about that. >> dana: interesting because it is a second term but with a staff that has completely fresh legs and knew exactly what they wanted to do. i think you see a little evidence of that. thank you so much, josh, great on the panel last night and even better this morning i would say. >> bill: thank you, josh. >> dana: don't miss president trump on hannity tonight at 9:00 p.m. eastern right here on the fox news channel. >> in the last 24 hours ice has arrested over 308 serious criminals. some murderers, rapists, some raped a child. some were sexual assault of a child. ice is doing their job. >> bill: that update from just a few hours ago live in the channel.
