he said if i didn't get some votes last time. if i got 50 million i wouldn't have done it. 70. he got the most votes but loses by, what 15, 20 million. that's why i knew i was coming back. he said i like to get things done. i have always gotten things done. when he asked is there any doubt i got things done? i thought that was really special. also, when he talked about the pardons, he let everyone go on j-6 pardons. look at the other pardons on the other side. today as every network spends 45 minutes of every hour talking about the january 6th pardons, many of which people were just walking through. some of which were serious. four years is enough, number one. number two, they just -- joe biden parkland donned a guy that killed an 8-year-old and his mom he was in the middle of testifying against other gang members. the horrendous people that joe biden has pardoned and they act like january 6th was the only date on the calendar that mattered. he doesn't care.

you know, i had fema working really well. we had hurricanes in florida. we had alabama tornado. unless you have certain types of leadership. it gets in the way fema is going to be a whole big discussion shortly. i would rather see the states take care of their own problems. >> lawrence: you have to preach the his instinct on the calendar how news is you go with the latest story and move on from the tragedy to the next tragedy. he was scheduled to go los angeles first. and then he was like what about the people of north carolina? we have completely forgotten about them. they essentially the administration were calling them liars. i was down there on the ground when they said fema is not here. we are not seeing them you say you have all these trucks but we are not getting. let me reroute my schedule i'm going to go there. >> brian: democratic governor, again. listen, unlike the wildfires that always hit california. they never get hit in the mountains like this. so this is all brand new to them

you. >> ainsley: so great if they could work together. i'm hopeful. >> i watched him do an interview he said the president was totally not true about the smelt fish and water. i watched him do it. in times of tragedy you need to do a podcast. he went and did that he defended himself and tried to exonerate himself in the middle of a fire. i think it was like 10 percent contained at the time. >> they got the evidence. the reservoir was empty. it had been empty for months. that just simply at the height of wildfire season, particularly given how dry historically dry it's been. it's inexcusable. let's see what happens. maybe they can get on the same page. meantime get out to california. >> ainsley: happening again. thousands of firefighters are battling two new wildfires in los angeles county. >> overnight crews gaining the upper hand on a brush fire that tore through 40 acres along the 405 freeway just east of where the palisades fire is still burning. evacuation warnings issued earlier for brentwood and

bellaire they are now lifted. >> steve: to the north of los angeles the fast moving hughes fire exploded to more than 10,000 acres. and it is only 14% contained. 54,000 people in california are under evacuation orders at this hour and warnings in that particular area high tail it home to get mayan malls and make sure i important things it was nerve racking. >> first time in all my years living here in 89 and 88 i have ever had to pack up and grab everything from my room and throw it into the car. >> unbelievable. the wind is expected to pick up later today the gusts approaching 70 miles per hour. check in with senior meteorologist janice dean for our fox weather forecast. j.d., what are we looking at? >> janice: listen, we have known all this week that we were into an extreme fire danger. a particularly dangerous situation yet again this week. and unfortunately, we in a fire break out that spread exponentially in just a matter of hours.

so 10,000 acres. 14% contained. this is the fire that we are talking with about. and winds right now in excess of 30 miles per hour. and this time yesterday by the way. when the fire broke out. the winds were not that bad. so this is a situation where it doesn't take much to start or spread fires and that's the concern because those winds are going to go up throughout the day today. they are the current winds as we mentioned like 35 miles per hour in and around the los angeles area. through the peeks and valleys here. and then the wind gusts throughout the day today we could reach 40, 50 miles per hour in the area where that latest fire is burning. winds calm down and we actually could get some rain in the forecast this weekend. but the concern there is too much rain is going to cause mud slides. so, this is just a terrible situation. we did have wind gusts in excels of 100 miles per hour. so the forecast was right. the fire weather outlook today, yet again, critical for all of these areas where fires are currently burning. and that will continue friday. then we'll have a pattern

change. we'll have that specific moisture moving in. and, yeah, an inch of rain is awesome. but, when you have the burn areas there that are so fresh, that's going to mean the potential for mud slides. that is a huge concern. so, after months and months without any rain, they're going to potentially get rain, and then we have the problem of the mud slides and the rock slides. this is not a good situation. also, really want to quickly make mention, all of the areas that got the epic snow storm. we still have very cold temperatures. that snow is not going anywhere. and people are still urged to not travel. so that's another story we are following. fox weather.com for all of your details. >> lawrence: can't catch a break. >> ainsley: janice, what day does the rain hit california? >> janice: the weekend. we were excited about that. now national weather service says too much rain is going to exacerbate some of these areas that now could have mud slides. homes that are standing if you have a rock slide or mid slide

trying to get more law enforcement authorizations to different branches of the federal government. and essentially give them the same power that immigration agents have. and so the dhs is granting immigration enforcement authority to agencies at the department of justice including dea, atf, and the u.s. marshals. so they will all be able to do the same stuff border patrol can as the whole of government shifts to our southern border to stop the invasion. >> brian: all this gets down to southern -- to anywhere from tajikistan to southern america. this is not the time to come to america. it can ripple up, joe biden come one, come all. don't do it. don't mortgage your house to get your family here you will lose your money. >> ainsley: did he shut down the app.? >> brian: he did. and building huge facilities for remain in mexico. they know it's come. they didn't ask permission from the president. they are not getting.

>> ainsley: this morning the man accused murdering four university of idaho students appears in court for the first time in months for a critical pre-trial hearing that will be live streamed. the court is controlling whether or not we will be able to see bryan kohberger on camera. his legal team is trying to get the judge to throw out nearly all of the evidence police collected against him. chanley painter is here with more. chanley. >> the defense targeting the very heart of the prosecution's case, the d.n.a. evidence. prosecutors say places bryan kohberger at the scene where four university of idaho students were found murdered in november of 2022 in court filings, the defense argues their client's constitutional rights were violated when police used a process called investigative genetic genealogy or igg. it's a med of analyzing d.n.a.

using public ancestry data bases to identify potential suspects. we know this method led the authorities to bryan kohberger's father. the defense now claiming everything that the authorities found after the igg analysis should be thrown out of court. including items found in kohberger's home and car. his defense also contends the search warrants in the case were tainted by police misconduct. meanwhile the prosecution team says there is nothing unconstitutional about the use. igg and kohberger's relatives voluntarily provided their own d.n.a. to the jeanette genealogy service. arguing defendants have no reasonable right to privacy for d.n.a. that is left at a crime scene. and the former criminal student faces the death penalty if is he convicted in the stabbing deaths of victims. speaking out ahead of today's hearing demanding justice in an nbc interview and asking for prayers on family facebook page.

legislation. it was just a rant. >> lawrence: let me ask you this congress one of the issue they are having local cops in police departments the beat cops want to do their job, the politicians, the chiefs do thei. will this bill require them to hold them if they have already been found, you know, criminal in another charge? >> yeah. what it this bill does. contact ice unless a major crime happened. that's why the laken riley murder is a perfect example. you take ibarra, he had committed minor level criminal activity and cited for it. crime cited for shoplifting the week before he murdered laken. this bill inserts minor level crime. these people are coming neuro country. they are bringing their criminal trade. and seeing what they can get

what is going on. cost find ways to streamline. like a lot of people come in for just questions. you can set up an a.i. chatbot or virtual assistant where people ask the questions very conversationally and get the information they need. wait for people. wait for all these systems. we really cut out a lot of extra, you know, fat or waste in the system. and focus on the value-add activity. the government actually provides. >> steve: i heard a news story yesterday talking a little bit about how businesses, america's corporations are very optimistic about their profits going forward because a lot of them are going to use a.i. just to be more efficient and do smarter stuff. so this is good for all of us. >> 100 percent. this is the interesting part is that look a lot of those routine mundane task we hate to do a.i. is amazing at actually doing that and doesn't complain. so there is a lot of cost
