some get upset you got to hire the general manager first before you hire the coach. i don't buy into that. >> todd: quickly on the cowboys front looks like they are going to sign brian shot heimer after not coming to terms with mccarthy. is the move restore the cowboys to their 90's dominance i'm asking for lawrence jones and will cain. >> no. i appreciate you asking. listen, this organization is dysfunctional. and you know it really starts with ownership. the way they have negotiated with mike mccarthy leave to have an interview with the chicago bears and then all of a sudden decide not to retain mike mccarthy and then, you know, at that point you are already two weeks behind the hiring process because you flirted with mike mccarthy. those things are problematic. i think from an ownership standpoint, just my experience

is you have to not only appoint the coach but more importantly you have to empower the coach. that guy has to have the two levels of fear that are important. one, like the fear of the lord. this awesome reverence and respect for the guy who is making the calls. you got to have that type of fear. and then ultimately you have to be afraid of the guy. like that dude will cut me in a heart beat ii don't do my job. those things are essential to a great organization. and if the owner is going to circumvent the authority of the coach, all the time, then you are never going to be successful. all i can tell you is you look back to mike mccarthy when all of a sudden he walks in the fingerprints and backup quarterback tray lance is sitting in the locker. no communication there. it was done by the organization and not confirmed with or talked to with the head coaching organization. as a player, you are like that dude ain't really in charge. why would i respect that guy? and so college championships

this weekend. chiefs, bills, eagles, commanders, who you got? >> i'm going to take the eagles. i think they will be the best team in football. jayden daniels is incredible. i won't be surprised if daniels wins that game and then i'm going with the buffalo bills simply because i played for the denver broncos and i hate kansas city chiefs with the intensity of a thousand suns i'm going with the bills. >> todd: never rooted for you when you were a red skin commander whatever it is. >> okay. i switch and i will take the skins. >> todd: rooted for them like nobody. if they beat my eagles. i will wear a jayden daniels jersey on monday. mark schlereth, thank you.
